Service is good, food is tasty. The seafood are fresh, shrimps are huge. You need to ask for lemon if you want some. They ran out of rice when we were there but overall it’s a good place to eat and get messy.

We’ve been here a couple times now and it is consistently amazing! The owners and staff are very friendly. Glad to see that this place is catching on! We detoured here from our trip up I-5 last night and it was well worth it. We got 1LB of peel-and-eat shrimp and 1LB of crab legs. This stuff is finger-licking good! Great serving sizes for the price! I’m sure one day there will be an hour-long wait for a table, but right now we’re thoroughly enjoying this little-known gem.

Trying to spread the word about this place to everyone I know — their food is amazing and has been missing from the Chico food scene for far too long

Outstanding! I brought my mom here for her birthday tonight and could not have chosen a better place. We had 1 lb clams, 1 lb shrimp, snow crab clusters, potatoes, and bread in garlic and butter with no spice(only Old Bay). So good… probably better than Joe’s Crab Shack! Definitely will be back when in the area.

I’m actually quite obsessed with this place. Our general order is getting a pound of shrimp, a pound of clams or if we’re feeling festive, a pound of the crab clusters, four corn(they are half cobs so two each means one whole corncob each), and the cajun fries. All this is just plenty(if not a just a tad too much) for two people. They put out wax paper and serve the boil right on the table. It’s quite the experience and surprisingly, the seafood is high-quality. When I’m feeling fishy, I would choose this place over many of the sushi places in town just because of quality. TRYIT. It’s definitely not an experience for the weak, or for a first date perhaps, but it’s so fun and so flavorful.

The best seafood in town!!! The food was delicious and the restaurant was clean. The food had great flavor and the king crab legs had so much meat!!! And the prices were fair for the quality. We will definitely be back!

Fantastic. Honestly, wish I would have ordered more as it tasted amazing. Can’t say enough about this place. Everybody’s reviews are spot on! A couple of suggestions for you, the diner having dinner… 1) Get rice. Yes yes yes. Order rice. You’re going to want to sop up that sauce with something — so spring for a $ 1.75 cup of rice and you won’t be sorry. 2) The lobster tails are small. I could have eaten two. The price is right, so I have no complaints, but I’m going to stick with a pound of crab for the next time. 3) When you’re done eating, don’t wait for the check. Just head up to the front and they’ll take care of you right there. This isn’t a place for folks to check on you or ask how things are going — this is a place to roll up your sleeves and eat some fantastic food.

This establishment is absolutely amazing. They offer one product that is NONEOTHER in Chico! They have fresh delectable seafood seasoned with garlic and authentic cajun spice! The owner, Alan, has an interesting story and a passion for pleasing the consumer. I recommend this eatery to all that enjoy getting their food on their arms to eat. Thank you for bringing this to Chico? Big Hot Crab!

Went here last night for an early dinner and was beyond stoked on how GOOD this place is. I was skeptical at first because it’s a Cajun Seafood Boil place where they put down paper on the table and you choose what seafood you want in your bag and you eat with your hands. Man was I wrong! This place was so good and so was the sea food. It’s a bit pricey, but only if you get the more expensive sea food. I got lobster tail, mussels, shrimp, sausage, and potatoes and it was definitely enough food for two which came out to be $ 31.20 with tax. But damn it had so much flavor and freshness. I really hope this place makes it because there’s nothing like it in Chico and it was really, really good. They have a hand washing station as well so once you’re done you can go wash up. Service was awesome, restaurant was clean, and their Register system was super high tech so splitting tickets is no problem. Will be back for sure! P. S. When choosing a sauce, get the House Style.

HIT! Wow, this place is open in CHICO! I can go everywhere in this town for a burger, a burrito, or some glorified grilled cheese made by some asshole with only a pannini press in his kitchen. If I’m going to spend more then $ 12 on anything in this town to eat… Anything my heart could desire… I am going to BIGHOTCRAB! Cajun style JUMBOSHRIMP1lb for only $ 12!!! 1lb of mussels, $ 12! Crab is on our menu next time! t’s a FANTASYFEAST! Messy and delicious! Medium was almost too hot and am usually not sensitive to spicy. The waitress warned us! Great service too. FAST! Casual. Love it. Lived here my whole life and never had the pleasure of eating a meal like this in this in Chico before now. Give them all your money! Keep this place people! We deserve this… #itsachicothing #blameitontheipa #cajunstyle

Styrofoam and plastic cups with lids(why lids are put on the drinks are beyond comprehension) might be acceptable for a food truck for food«to go» or eating outside however for a dining establishment what are they thinking? Plastic forks and spoons(none provided however if you ask for a fork they will bring one … a plastic one). Bad for the environment and lousy for the feel of the place. They expect you to eat everything with your fingers … ok … but how about a bowl of water with lime or lemon afterwards to wash our hands? I mean to pay over $ 20. for some fish with sauces to be eaten with our hands … stinky fingers! The chicken wings were way too salty. The calamari weren’t that good and way too greasy. The sausage were ok but nothing to write home about. They were out of crawfish. Sauces come in small plastic cups(as if for«to go»). Ambiance? Some fish netting along the windows. How about some cajun music instead of a tv? Some of the items were delivered to our table in a plastic bag and then we’re expected to empty the bsgs contents onto the table(they provide nice paper as throwaway table cloth where the food is to be dumped out onto the table. The waitress seemed like she cares however she didn’t seem very experienced as a waitress. The owner(or manager) did seem to care. I hope they make it as Chico could use some unique restaurants … I believe they need to make some radical changes/improvement if they wish to stay in business. If they’re still in business in 3 months we’ll give them one more chance.

I came here two days after the grand opening. The restaurant is like a Boiling Crab from the SF bay area. I ordered the beer battered cod since I’m allergic to shrimp. It was well cooked and delicious, although the portion size was small for the price, especially since there’s no meal, everything is extra. For twelve dollars, you can get a gigantic fish and chips somewhere else. The Cajun fries were good, even if they were more salty than normal Cajun style. Parking is limited, but it’s in the southern downtown area where there are no meters, so it wasn’t too bad. Service was average, the young waiter was reasonably attentive.
