Pretty damn good donuts. I had the dulce de leche when I came back to Chico to visit. Too bad this place wasn’t here when I was a student, they’re worth getting fat for.

This place should be famous. A must visit, but you must arrive early enough so they do not sell out of their more popular items. Thier filled doughnuts are pieces of art as well as their cake doughnuts. I used to hate cake doughnuts; this place has enlightened me on how wonderful doughnuts can be if done right. They make their own filling. I’m in the bay area and this is one of the few places I miss(this place and Priya). They should open a store in the bay, they would be a certain hit. Additionally, the couple that runs it are great and certainly deserve all the business they can get. The best doughnut shop I’ve ever been in.

Donut rising, has a good selection of donuts but they rant out of a lot of flavors when I showed up. So I chose a dulce de leche donut, which was soo good. I want to return to try different flavors on my next trip to Chico.

Love this place! Probably not the most healthiest choice but definitely satisfy your sweet tooth. Their donut holes are delicious and their homemade filling is to die for! Make sure to try their banana donut, when available! Go there early, they always sell out of the best donuts before 9. The only reason I did not give them a 5 star review is their hours of operation. It is not consistent at all, I never know if it will be open or not

Good donuts you will pay a little bit more for but the quality is worth it. 3 stars because they are closed on Sunday which is my designated donut eating day.

Vegan donuts in po’dunk Chico? Oh hell yeah! This is a very Voodoo-esque donut shop with odd flavors mixed in with the usual standbys. The only Vegan donuts they offer are the cake-style type that I’m not a huge fan of to begin with. Also I’m not sure if they offer them every day so it’s best to call ahead as my honey did to reserve a few donuts. The shop is located in a dumpy strip mall next to a liquor store. Although once inside, the shop itself is actually pretty bright and cheery inside. If we had just stopped at the lemon glazed I might be giving them 4 – 5 stars. It was at least twice as good as what Bay Area Vegan donut shop, Pepples can muster up. Then again, Whole Foods has both of them beat. The powdered, unfortunately was a disappointment. Especially since powdered are usually my donut of choice as far as cake donuts go. It tasted like they used yesterday’s overdone plain glazed, then dusted some powdered sugar on top. We got there kind late and took the last three of their Vegan ‘nuts. I’m sure if they’re fresh, these are outstanding. Even if not, they’re still pretty darn tasty. If I come back and they have a Vegan raised donut, their rating will exponentially increase. Until then, it’s a solid donut shop in an unexpected location.

What is all hype about? Mediocre donuts, nothing special here. Overpriced to boot. It’s just a regular donut for goodness sake, $ 1.50/ea, come on. From the other reviews I came in expecting a knockoff of Voodoo donuts, but that’s not what I found. There’s a much better local donut shop in Chico.

Every other doughnut place in Chico fails in comparison. They have the regulars as well as ones you can’t get anywhere else in town. My absolute favorite is the oh canada bar. This is not your run of the mill maple bar — the maple icing is real. If that wasn’t enough to hook you, It’s also topped with a strip of crunchy bacon. Sweet and salty bliss. My only complaint is I wish they were open longer… But that seems to be a draw back to all doughnut spots. My advice is to go early before they run out. These doughnuts fly off the shelves. Actually, don’t go early because that means there’s more for me :)

Rise oh globe of glorious doughy heaven! Rise from the glop of under done imitators, that know not the goodness from which they bedevil. Render unto me your variety of exceptional confections so that I may convert them into visible signs of gratefulness.

Best place to get donuts in town. The fat boy is my favorite here it’s just a lot of donut. The blueberry fritter is also very good. Once every week I treat myself to sweets and this is where I go to get my fix.

New Breakfast Menu — LOVEIT! I had this bagel with egg and some exotic ham that I gleefully gobbled down in about 23 seconds flat. Only $ 2.50 during their promotion, but it well worth the 4 buck price tag. A full meal for all of us that are constantly on the go.

I took my sister here and she absolutely loved the peanut butter donut. The normal flavors are just okay, but the unique flavors are so good.

Holy amazing donuts, Batman! This place is delicious. The only reason I didn’t rate it a 5 is they often run out of donuts very quickly and do not make more even though they are open until 11:00 on Friday nights. I’ve gone in at 7pm and they have literally had 3 donuts left. They encourage you to call ahead to hold donuts, but that just feels obese to me. That said, do not skip this place. My favorites are the pumpkin pie, mayan hot xchocolat, donut of the dead, and the fat boy.

I eagerly anticipated their opening, went the first day, and have been a fan ever since. That they rotate their selection, experiment with new flavors, and take suggestions on new flavors has been a huge draw for me. Truly in my heart(and tummy!) there are no other donut shops in Chico, let alone gourmet ones. Nearly everything on the menu is delicious with my favorites probably being the Fleur de Sel and the Chico Chai. Their custard-filled ones are tasty at just the right consistency. Their jelly-filled donuts are fantastic as the filling isn’t too sugary. The cake donuts are moist which I love considering I’m not generally a fan of that type of donut, especially since most places seem to have them so dry that I manage to inhale crumbs and choke though maybe I’m just gifted. Also, somehow bacon on a donut is totally a party in your mouth — it’s like magic how they combine together. In short, it’s hard to go wrong unless you’re not crazy about a particular flavor! Even the vegan donuts are really good which is a plus for me when I’m not being naughty(eating donuts aside) considering I shouldn’t actually be having dairy, haha. Do definitely try to go as early as possible as they will be freshest which is important when you’re paying for quality, though on Fridays they do bake a batch in the afternoon as they have late-night hours. They also have a Facebook page on which they’ll post specials and a newsletter that contains coupons, as well.

I’ve never been to the shop, I’ve picked up their donuts at the farmer’s market on Saturday. As such, I don’t know the donut names so please forgive me that transgression. I only know the«Oh, Canada», the one with maple & bacon which my husband loves OHSOMUCH. I had heard rumors before I saw it in action. Heres the thing. I don’t like donuts. Seriously, I don’t. Can barely stand them. So why is this place getting a 5 star review? I LOVEONEDONUT. It’s chocolate, like a devils food, with a plain glaze. Not a chocolate icing donut, no thats gross. The cakey part is chocolate, with just a beautiful sugar glaze. It tastes like heaven. Oh so much heaven. On a side note, my hubby is a donut fan and he’s had 3 other types and loved them all. He’s stoked, because he never got donuts because I won’t eat them. Now he gets them occasionally, because I’m willing to go get that one magical donut. I did try the Oh Canada, one bite off his. I didn’t like it, but don’t hold that against the place– like I said, I don’t like donuts. I have no idea if this place costs average or more than average. What I can tell you is it doesn’t matter when your tasting heaven. :)

O Canada bar is amazing. I recommend taking it home to microwave, if you can make it! The Fleur de Sel is to die for. I make my own caramels and this doughnut rivals my homemade creations. Yes, it is THATGOOD!

My name is Sam and I am a pink donut eater. Growing up in St. Louis, I know a good donut from a bad one. And you cant get a bad one here. I was tempted by the Oh, Canada, but am watching the ol fat percentage these days. So I got the pink frosted coconut jobby. It was good and just what I needed after a 20 mile bike ride on a 95 degree day. Not to say a donut is refreshing, per se, but it was a nice little carbo bump that got me through to dinner. Steamed chicken, brown rice and salad. Not as exciting as Donut Rising.

These donuts are so dangerous. Everything tastes so good. The Mayan Hot Xotolatl filled with custard was awesome.
