Gamestop

Last week I was told when preordering Call of Duty that Gamestop now had a military/​Law enforcement/​Fire/​EMS discount. However, when I came into pick up my game on Friday, I was told that their manager Jill told her employees not to give the discount that «Law Enforcement is the only ones who deserve the discount». I understand it is a company’s choice who they give out a discount to, but Jill’s wording on why that’s the case alienates military personnel, and everyone in the fire and EMS community.
I have been going to Gamestop since 2011, but now I am going to take my business elsewhere.

I’d give this Game Stop 4 stars, mainly for customer service. Every time I’ve been in, the employees are super helpful. Whether you have a technical question or if you want an opinion about the appropriateness of a game for a certain age group, those guys (and gals) know their stuff and are more than willing to give really good advice and are always pleasant. I’m not a «gamer» but my kids love what they have to offer, as far as availability. (I’d suggest getting a power-​up rewards account, so you can have a listing of how many videos you own, and keep track of $ spent so you can receive points per dollar spent, on new games as well as traded-​in games & consoles). I’ve also been to the store on Mangrove, but not as often, so I’m reviewing this store. Both stores I had a great experience with customer service. From what I remember, the selection was a little better on Mangrove, but that was a year ago. The experience we had the past few times at this store, recently, was great!
My feeling is that since there are 3 stores in Chico, you’re bound to find what you want (if what you’re looking for isn’t at a particular store), and that customer service means a lot!

I used to hate this place solely based on their selection of games but the current manager really made me think twice. They recently have bumped their inventory with the store layout and it is really impressive i have to say.
I have found games here that are impossible to get anywhere else and they also have this special rack with all the special edition games if you really wan’t to blow your money.
The employees are pretty nice, still a little fresh but are doing well enough to impress to say the least.
One day i walked in to pick up a strategy guide and they were popping the recent festivities balloons like at a carnival game and it was funny to watch. I also learned you can save 10% on strategy guides if you get a game with it so yay!
Overall id give it 4.5÷5 but i don’t think you can do halves yet. Great store all in all!

I just popped in and out to get a used game. Can’t complain, service was friendly and efficient.

This is my least favorite game stop. Service is decent but the games always seem to be mixed up on the shelves. If the other Game Stops don’t have what you’re looking for tho this one usually has it. If you can find it on the shelf.

I have mixed feelings about this place… My last trip there was to trade in a few games and buy the new call of duty black opps. Service wise they were very helpful, but you never get back a fair price on a game that you try and sell back or trade in there. Another thing to know is it always seems that the estimate buy back price you get on the phone is a little greater than what you actually get in store. Overall a good place to take games you no longer use in, and in return get a discount on a new game or any game in general that you want.
