The Hookah Spot

So, THS is a whole new kind of experience, but for the most part, its not a good one. I’ve been here a few times, and each time I’ve always left disappointed. More often than not, I find myself staying for less than an hour, regardless of whether or not I’m with people. First things first, the hookahs there are subpar. There are many flaws with them, and it seems that every time, the problems with the hookahs don’t get fixed. There are air leaks throughout the entire setup, and the grommets never seem to fit perfectly. The air flow from the hose was always spotty – never a consistently good draw. This is a problem in it of itself, as too much of this can not only cause hookah sickness, but can also make for a nasty headache. Moreover, the bowls never last very long. Don’t get me wrong the flavor is, for the most part, good for the first 20 to 30 minutes of a smoking session, but afterwards flavor is basically nonexistent. The coals that are used at THS are awful. Incredibly hard to ash and they become covered in ash in less than 5 minutes. This can cause the bowl to lose some heat that gives us the puffy white clouds of smoke that all hookah lovers enjoy. People have told me that they mix hoses between flavors, but I can’t say anything bad about this because I personally have never noticed. But sometimes I’ve ordered a flavor and tasted something different, but I’ve never seen this as too much of a problem. Seating is alright. There are many places to sit, however the couches they have there are rather uncomfortable and make for an awkward sitting experience. The bathrooms there are incredibly filthy, and the place is dimly lit. The music is alright, but lacks variety. The only reason I gave THS 2 stars is because I have friends who love this place (1 star) and they have a pool table (2 stars). Other than that, THS is not that great and is mainly all hype. (This was a two star review, but the pool table doesn’t really cut it anymore…)

Good place to smoke, and management knows what they’re doing. No fuss when ordering and quick service. I went at a slower time, and I imagine that if you go when it’s packed service will be slower.
Honestly, if you know nothing of hookah and complain when they take a bit too long to prepare your hookah or coal service is slow then more power to you. This place is on par with younger and upbeat spots in SD or LA, but without the SD or LA price.

I have been to quite a few events that the hookah spot has catered, some were better tended than others, but overall they provide quality service and the bowls usually last for a good amount of time.

The music they play sucks, there’s always too many people working, and they always forget to refill our coals. The people working usually only give their attention to their friends that come to smoke. I really like the vibe and the lighting. I also like how it’s a chill place where you can use your laptop and hangout. $ 5 per person, which is awesome!

Lots of different shisa choices, dope employees, great atmosphere, good music! They could be a little faster with the coals though.

It’s more like a club than Arabian Nights downtown is which is fine except the music they play is absolute trash (one song’s lyrics were (almost) verbatim: «I’m going to do my dance on your dick on your dick I’m going to do my dance on your dick on your dick»).
When classes are in session it’s one of the few under 21 places college kiddos can go and it shows with the level of maturity demonstrated by the patrons. When it gets crowded it gets loud and it gets louder when the song of the month is played (Miley Cyrus’ Wrecking Ball was a particularly bad example).
That aside, the selection is good, prices reasonable (except for the drinks but seriously what did you expect beyond high prices on those?), and the location is pretty decent. I just wish they’d put the N64 back in the corner and eliminate the sports on the TVs. Seriously guys, not everyone likes sports and not everyone wants to watch sports just because they left their apartment. How about some visualizations for the music?

Great hookah spot! I feel so relaxed just being in here, great service, and amazingly smooth hookah. Recently tried the pink starburst here and thought it was phenomenal. Something unique about this lounge is that they let you play video games on the tv and you can ask for bubbles! You get a kick out of blowing bubbles with the hookah. Great mix of music at night! The reason that I am not giving this place 5 stars is because its not that crowded so sometimes the atmosphere isnt all that great. Maybe I just have not gone on a busy night… Im a social person, therefore I like to be surrounded by people.

NEVER COMING BACK EVER!
I’ve gone to hookah many times at other lounges and this place was by far the worst. when we first walked in, the whole place was basically hot boxed. THEY HAD NO VENTILATION! Then after about 2 and a half to 3 hours, my friends and I stood up to leave. I made it five feet from the couch i was sitting on and I HAD A SEIZURE… my best friend made it to the door and SHE HAD A SEIZURE TOO! after we came to and were talking, the owner came by and was telling us this was normal and he has seen then plenty of times. WHAT? THATS NOT NORMAL. Anyways… not only did my friend and I have seizures FIVE OTHER PEOPLE ALSO HAD SEIZURES, all within about 20 minutes. I strongly feel we were drugged or something. I WAS SCARED FOR MY LIFE.

I stop here every time I’m in Chico. Jordan and Shimmy are great.

THS has amazing hookah and a nice variety of flavors. The lemonade icee is the best! They have the best staff, all super friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend this place to all hookah lovers. Check it out!

One of the best possible places to hang with friends. I’m a regular here and I’m never disappointed with the service and hookah. The atmosphere is very nice and heartwarming. The owners always treat you with the greatest respect whether your a regular or just a walk-​in. The workers will immediately take care of you when you walk in if you have no idea at what to do. The prices are very reasonable and the hookah is superb! I smoke hookah at my place all the time and can never get it as good as here. Every Friday is Fusion Friday, for $ 5 you get unlimited hookah and get to meet new people. It’s always popping and they always have great music playing! Great place to socialize with friends and to dance your tush off. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys smoking hookah and chilling with friends:)

This place is amazing. The staff is very friendly and will never treat you badly. The atmosphere is quite possibly the greatest thing at The Hookah Spot. The music will be liked by just about everyone who walks the earth. The hookah is also top notch. On Fridays they have what they call Fusion Friday. There is a 5 dollar cover charge and you get free hookah and a live DJ performs and the dance floor is always rocking. If you are looking for a great time in Chico come to The Hookah Spot!

the staff is amazing and so are the flavors! the staff makes the BEST mixed flavors. also their customer service is AMAZING. they always help out if there are any problems. Their Fusion Fridays events are awesome, live music and room for dancing and only a small cover charge. they take amazing care of their hookahs. all around amazing :)

This place is pretty good and the hookah’s were prepared and tasted fine. The atmosphere was slightly lacking and they don’t serve alcohol!
The guys that work here are super nice though and they do use premium tobacco and take care of their pipes.
Not too busy on a Friday night which was weird and made for more of an intimate smoke sesh rather than a club like one, but thats always good once in a while.
I’m from the Valley in Southern California where there are a lot of huge popular hookah bars, so I probably just need to get used to the change in atmosphere.
Over all, good place but they don’t serve drinks… damn.

Love this place! By far the best atmosphere a hookah bar could have. Super replax, great music, awesome people and perfect smoke.
