Boo! Drove out of our way to try this place out, only to get here and find it closed. Closed on a Friday night at 6:30pm with no signage explaining why. Unilocal showed that they closed at 9pm today. Tried calling, but no answer.

This is my second time here and I guess is a hit and miss, this time I got the pork ribs because they were out of the meats I wanted, granted I went in an hour before closing. I got potato salad and coleslaw. Ribs were great, perfectly done the bbq sauce is sweet and tangy perfect spice and a hint of tamarind just like I like it. The potato salad you can tell is home made and was also good, didn’t care too much about the coleslaw. Now they have to do something about the bread, I got two slices of white bread in a sandwich bag, I guess you can do this in some little town In the middle of nowhere but can’t do that in SoCal. I took my food to go because I wont dare to eat there, the place is not inviting and the food is not served on plates, you will be eating out of styrofoam and plastic forks. There were some shady looking men outside just hanging out and they didn’t look friendly. I will most likely get ribs from here again but will be to go and won’t go alone!

Pork ribs fell off the bone! Baked beans were bomb! Wish I could have sampled the cornbread and peach cobbler but all in all this was a pretty good meal. Prices aren’t too bad either. Kinda feels like a family bar b que atmosphere. Definitely will be revisiting again.

After our first visit we were so excited to make this our weekly stop. However, on our 2nd visit we were very disappointed. Service was slow, and the rib tips were just bbq sauce topped bones– no meat. We decided to give them another shot and were disappointed, again! The meat was tough and definitely over cooked. I guess I will have to continue driving to LA for my weekly fix. So sad, considering it is so close to home!

They smoke the ribs, unlike many places around here. Not sure what type of wood but tastes great. Both owners are very kind. I also like how there’s a slight chewy texture to the ribs rather than being completely soft. It’s a bit pricey, spent about $ 35+ here for two orders of baby back ribs which comes with two sides. Each order gets five ribs. Haven’t tried the lunch special deals so not sure what the portions would be.

I don’t like writing negative reviews, but with all these glowing reviews, it seems something fishy is going on. I went to this place with my wife over the weekend based on all the reviews. Here is my experience: When we got there, there were some rough looking people arguing in front. They told us that we better not go in there. Perhaps we should have heeded their advice, but my wife and I proceeded without making eye contact with them. Once we were inside, the few visible staff member looked like they were on edge and the patrons were totally silent and looked freaked out. No one came to sit us and we didn’t know how this worked so I went to the cash register to ask if we were supposed to sit ourselves. About four minutes later, a lady told us to sit where ever we like. She also explained that the people that they just kicked out were causing a scene claiming racism for preferential treatment towards some customers over others. I believe this lady over the people outside, mostly because the staff is primarily Black and the people that got kicked out were also Black. Remaining patrons inside were Asian, Black, Hispanic, and White. We sat in a corner. The table wasn’t clean, but we wanted to be on the sidelines. All the available tables at the time were dirty. A waitress came around a bit later and asked us to move to a larger table that she was cleaning off. We did. The table was one of those plastic folding tables that you could get at an office supply store. On top of it was a thin plastic«table cloth» that you could get at the 99 cent store. It wasn’t large enough to cover the full table. We sat on plastic folding chairs. I should also point out how the layout of the tables didn’t make any sense at all. There was a table right in front of the bathroom door; there were two tables blocking an employee entrance. There was also a traffic cone in the restaurant that said«Property of the City of Chino.» It took them about five minutes after that for them to come take our order. I told the waitress that it was our first time and asked for advice. She suggested the three-item combo to split with my wife. We agreed. The restaurant was really cold. I had to zip up my jacket. My wife who is normally always hot decided she couldn’t take it any more and went out to the car to get her jacket. Other patrons got up and did the same thing. Everyone had a jacket on, yet the a/c and ceiling fans were going on. About ten minutes later, a waitress noticed and asked everyone if they wanted the a/c turned off. Everyone said yes. Another thing I noticed was that that whole time we were there so far, no one had been eating. Everyone was waiting on their food. After waiting about 20 — 25 minutes after ordering, a waitress took an order to the counter. She discreetly motioned toward me that I should go pick up the order. I thought it was pretty weird for her to ask me up to the counter instead of just bringing it to the table, but I went up. She whispered to me that our order got done first, but that others had been waiting for a long time. «If they ask, say that you phone-ordered ahead of time.» As we were eating, the other patrons did ask the waitress why they had to wait so long and noted that they were there first but that others are getting served first. The waitress said that others had ordered ahead of time. I don’t think this was believable to them because I think they heard me order. So on to the the food… I thought the meat was good. I had no complaints about it. My wife was not impressed at all, but she may have been influenced by the rest of the dining experience. She didn’t like the sauce. We both agreed that the macaroni and cheese was among the worst we had ever had. There wasn’t much cheese to it. It tasted pretty bland and it was kinda cold. We were disappointed that the meal was supposed to come with corn bread. We didn’t get any at all. The menu had said that we should have been given a choice of the three meats; we weren’t given any choice. We got the rib tips, pork ribs, and chicken. Food and drinks are served out of styrofoam containers. I personally don’t have a problem with this, but it’s an indication of the type of place you’re going to. After we finished eating, we just wanted to get out of there. My wife made a point of saying«Pay in cash.» I told her, «I got you.» I went up to the cash register, gave them my cash, and we split. When I got home, I thought, «I need to find better places to take my wife,» so I got on Groupon. To my surprise, the deal of the day was for Clarks BBQ. The Groupon was for 40% off of their three-meat combo which they claimed was normally $ 20 for a deal for $ 12. This was dishonest as the menu prices was actually $ 15.75, not $ 20. The food on the Groupon deal also looked entirely different than what is offered in the restaurant, including the fact that the food was served on a plate.

Omg found this place on Unilocal. We were wanting good homemade bbq. This was the best! We had the combination plate with Ribs and macaroni &cheese and coleslaw. The sauce on the meat had just enough kick so good you will find yourself licking your fingers .It is in a strip mall so kind of hidden. Not a fancy place is like eating bbq at someone’s house but that’s what we liked. Everyone was so very nice! During our dinner their was a obnoxious rude group complaining because they ran out of something but their plates were emptied! So hey we got a Delish Dinner &show. We will be back again.

I was craving some BBQ so looked up a place that was local and came across Clarke’s. The food was honestly, really really good! It was full of flavor & felt like a home cooked meal. I got the plate with ribs & chicken. with a side of potato salad & Mac n cheese. Everything tasted great.

I came to this restaurant because of the high reviews. I was very disappointed. I don’t doubt all of the positive reviews. But I believe this place made a serious lapse of judgement today. First of all, the place was filled with smoke. It was hard to bare. But a nice lady said it was normal and that customers actually prefer it like that. Ok. I was ordering take-out. So I figured I only had to deal with it for a few minutes. I ordered a ribs plate and a combo plate to go. Upon arriving at home I discovered that our orders were messed up. My baby back ribs plate was missing baby backs and a spare rib was thrown in. Our side of BBQ beans were actually canned VanCamp Pork & Beans! They weren’t even BBQ. The Mac N Cheese was way overcooked. And to top it off I was looking forward to the Cornbread Muffins. Guess what was included instead? 4 slices of cheap white bread! Unbelievable. Had I lived nearby I would have definitely gone back to complain. But since I don’t I have to chalk it up to a bad experience and let others beware. I would have appreciated some honesty there. If they ran out of baby back ribs, beans and muffins and told me I would have understood and appreciated them being truthful. But to sneak in other«replacements» is just ridiculous.

It only got 4 because of the small things… food is AMAZING, but the the service was so so… no water and limited drink menu. But the greens were on par with my grandma’s

This place is the real deal in good BBQ. I had the 3 meat plate with tri-tip, rib tips, beef ribs. Also had potato salad and BBQ beans. The tri-tip and rib tips were well smoked and very tender. The beef ribs were meaty, but not quite as tender. The BBQ beans were sweet and creamy good. Potato salad was excellent with just a hint of onion. Everything tastes homemade. The staff is very friendly, and will even give you samples if you are undecided. They have a giant brick smoker in the back of the kitchen that permeates everything in delicious smoke, that you can even smell from the parking lot. The dining room is cozy, and very clean, with long tables covered in red picnic table cloths. I highly recommend this place, a delicious break from the traditional franchise BBQ joints that seem to spring up everywhere.

Finally, a place with decent BBQ in Chino! Next to my favorite Latin market, no less. Apparently they have been open for 3 months. Just now checking them out, and I am glad I did :) I got a lunch special of the rib tips and mac n cheese to go. I loved the rib tips(pork). The flavor was all there, tastes amazing. I usually don’t like bbq sauce either, and I really enjoyed Clarks BBQ. So much better than the other BBQ place that starts with a ‘D’ and is quite icky… if you know what I’m talking about. Service was friendly, and surprisingly quick! They accept credit card, but it was a more involved process since you need to enter the digits on your card and slide the card a couple times… As a result, I would suggest you bring cash. I do have a few suggestions. Moist toilette and knife would be handy. Also a little confused as to why I got 4 slices of white bread instead of the corn muffin on the menu(would have been nice to know this beforehand). I will be back to try something else :)

This place is amazing. The staff is super friendly but most importantly the food is amazing. The BBQ Beef ribs are some of the best ribs I’ve had in my life. The meat is so tender it falls off the bone, the BBQ sauce is delicious and they serve the food covered in sauce so you have plenty to dip. The sides were equally as good, I got the Mac n cheese and the sweet corn, the sweet corn might have been the best corn I’ve ever had. If you’re anywhere near this place you have to swing by and try it at least once. The quality of the food is amazing, the portions are a great size and you can’t beat the price. A+++

SOSOSO delicious!!! Your mouth starts watering as soon as you enter the parking lot from the smoky BBQ smell. It was so hard to choose just a couple items! I ended up going with the tri tip, mac n cheese, & potato salad and also had a few bites of the BBQ beef ribs. All were 5⁄5 stars. What really amazed me was the fact that I’ve never been a fan of BBQ but I found myself dipping my fork in the sauce and getting as much as I could — despite how full I was, I couldn’t stop. Highly recommend using them to cater your next party(if they were closer, this would be my go to) Aside from how amazing the food is, the staff is so friendly and make you feel like family. Can’t wait to take another Saturday trip over here for my southern comfort fix!

Craving BBQ so we found Clarks on Unilocal. The restaurant has been open approximately 1 month since our visit on ½/2015. The décor is extremely simple, but that is not what my review reflects. The staff, food, and service are definitely 5 star. We tried the Pork Ribs and Baby Back Ribs, and it is definitely good BBQ. The price is fair as well. All the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. I also ordered the BBQ Pig Feet, which I have never seen in any BBQ Place. It was cooked extremely tender. The sauce for that was a tad on the sweet side. The sides definitely tasted homey, of a family run restaurant. I definitely would recommend as they make good food. Comparing to the larger joints like Lucille’s and Joey’s, this place doesn’t disappoint.

Without a doubt, the best BBQ I have had in Chino. The smells just intoxicate from the moment you step through the door. Rib tips, beef ribs, greens, and yams definitely a must try!
