very good place to eat. first time. plenty of food. waitress walked around offering coffee to people around me and 5 more steps she would’ve reached me. i got pissed as i would’ve liked a refill. then realized that she probably didnt come to my tablee because she wasn’t my waitress. then my waitress showed and i got refill… now I’m ok… i had banana pancakes and bacon eggs. very tasty.

Decent coffee, better than many places. Good eggs, good blueberry pancake. Superb fresh cut fruit! And really nice staff.

I came here for breakfast and it was so good. The wait wasn’t too bad but it does get very busy here on weekends. I really liked the chilaquiles I got, but I think they had it out a little too long so they came out soggy but I made the best of it. I also tried the stuffed French toast, I thought it was so good! Their country fried steak was also good. The prices were decent. I was disappointed in the service. I know they were busy, but it felt like we had to flag down our waitress just to take our order. I would return to this place to give it another chance though.

The food was awesome. The Denver omelette was cooked to perfection. The quantities were huge, the pancakes were spot on and the hashbrowns were amongst the best I’ve ever tasted. The service was incredibly efficient as well, contrary to some of the reviews here. Coffee was ordered after the rest of the order and it still came out almost instantly. Quality experience in spite of the breakfast rush.

Great breakfast spot very busy on weekends but the pancakes are with the wait. They usually will cook you food to asking idle unlike crisp bacon and if I mention it that’s what I will get :).

It’s a very busy place! The waiting is worth it! The food comes out deliciously good. Best breakfast place ever.

Been coming here for awhile. The quality of food, customer service and sanitation of this establishment is extremely disappointing. I hope for the best for them but I will not be coming back and I highly would not recommend this to any of my friends or family.

Ordered a coffee and it never came. Asked for it to be removed from check and they said they did yet they charged my card for it (got cash back after I pointed it out). Wife never got her pancakes and when I asked for a discount they said it was included in the price of the omelet and only got them to discount them after I informed that we were not going to pay full price for an incomplete meal. Waitress dropped of plates and never returned. Not even to bring the bill. This is an hour and a half before closing. Not 10 minutes before. Horrible service today.

I had the chipotle omelet with hash browns and
was so big I shared the plate with my daughter. The taste was amazing! Everyone loved their breakfast but mine was the star of the show. Our waitress Adriana (I think that was her name). She was also amazing. Service was fast and efficient. I love this place. One of my highlights of the trip. We are doing breakfast here one more time before leaving.

Overall I was not a fan.
The service was pretty great, but the food was not what I expected at all.
The wait to get a seat for 2 people at 1030 on a random Wednesday was 45 minutes which I reluctantly agreed to, as the other person I was with wanted to try the place.
I ordered the breakfast sandwich to find that the burger had no seasoning and the only thing I tasted was a metallicy after taste.

This is a busy breakfast place. But there’s enough seating and if you can beat the crowd you’ll beat the line. The servers were very nice and the menu selection rivals most franchise breakfast chains. I debated over getting a traditional American breakfast or getting the chilaquiles with a side of pancakes. I ended up just ordering the usual sausage + eggs + pancakes combo.
Apart from a minor letdown with the pancakes, I actually liked it. That minor letdown was that the pancakes were a touch overcooked. They were a little too brown on the outside and this affected the texture. The flavor was still there though. Just needed to turn the temp down on that griddle. Perhaps the chef that day was different from the one my brother had on previous visits.
The sausage, eggs and coffee were typical diner fare. I don’t mind diner coffee, as long as it’s endless, which this one was. Funny thing about the service: I actually liked it. I always get great service anywhere in San Diego County. Dunno why. Maybe I got so used to snooty San Francisco service, or maybe I’m always in a good mood whenever I visit San Diego. But the server was courteous and our food arrived promptly.
Overall, I would choose this restaurant over others in the area for breakfast.

I’ve been here for breakfast multiple times, a few lunches too. Almost always busy but that’s expected. The food is homestyle and g00d. Pancakes are a must– they’re much better than what you would get at a diner-​chain like Denny’s or IHOP. I’ve also tried a croissant sandwich (g00d), a few of their omelettes (g00d), and a few of the diff pancakes (g0000d). Free refills on coffee (g00d).
They have a breakfast deal for under $ 5 on Mondays through Fridays. Can’t go wrong with these choices (pancakes– which you can upgrade to diff flavors, any style eggs/​omelettes, bacon or sausage, French toast, biscuits and gravy).
Service is always g00d as well. Only somewhat bad experience was ordering an iced coffee that had lipstick stains on the cup from a previous diner.

Pésimo servicio, banana nut pancakes horribles, nueces viejas, se le comenta a la gerente e ignora el comentario, hasta la segunda queja de mi esposo 10 minutos después, llega la gerente a disculparse y ofrecer cambio de platillo.

I Use to come every week with family and friends,
Today 12÷19÷15 I found 2 cockroaches in my breakfast, one came under my pancakes alive running for its life and the other came frayed in my French fries stuck at the end of the the potato log. The first cockroach was killed by my waitress so I didn’t have the chance to take a picture; But the second one I did.
I would definitely tell all my friends, family and coworkers at the station (Entravision TV) about this repulsive experience.
To bad service is great and adorable prices; But can’t compensates with an infestation of cockroaches in your plate.

Solía venir cada semana con la familia y amigos,
Hoy 12÷19÷15 encontré 2 cucarachas en mi desayuno, vino una de bajo de mis panqueques corriendo por su vida y el otro fue deshilachada (frita) en mis patatas fritas pegados al final de una papa. La primera cucaracha la mato por mi mesera, así que no tuve la oportunidad de tomar una foto; Pero la segunda cucaracha la capture en foto.
Definitivamente, me gustaría decirle a todos mis amigos, familiares y compañeros de trabajo en la estación (Entravision TV) de este asquerosa experiencia .
El servicio es excelente y adorables precios; Pero no se compensa con una infestación de cucarachas en tu plato.

I wish there could be more stars, I could have stayed at Hotel and ate Free Continental breakfast but I seen good reviews of Aunt Emma on Unilocal !
Staff was ok no napkins never checked up on me and my order took super long when customer’s who arrived after me in larger parties received there food before me. The food portions small the food itself was Okay I had better food at dive Restaurant’s. Worse case Snario I’ll be back n try it again.

Oh I wish I could say I loved this place, as I hate to bad mouth anything in Chula Vista because it’s where I’m from, but this was bad. I ordered a simple pecan waffle. It arrived cold the butter wouldn’t even melt. When I tired and tried and tried to find a server who would help me it seemed as though they couldn’t. The kitchen was backed up, servers were not making eye contact, they are just looking down and running all around. I finally told them about my waffle in which they took back. About 5 min later a manager brought a waffle and apologized … However it was the same waffle just put in a microwave. All the butter I put on it was on there. My waffle was rubbery I didn’t enjoy it and I couldn’t believe a manager brought that out with an apology. That’s what brought this place down, that even the management do not take pride in what they are serving.

Where do I begin, they’re obviously known for their pancakes. They were amazing-​5 stars
I tried their red chilaquiles– 4 stars, not like mom’s but so far exceeded my expectations
Coffee-​eh: 3 stars not as fresh as I would have liked
Service: 3 stars, Just okay. Waitress checked on us twice while we were there.
Will come here again, they’re coffee wasn’t all that fresh. I’m gonna give it another shot.
Just a tip: GET THE PANCAKES!!! They were absolutely delicious, fluffy, and they just melt in your mouth!!!

Dear Aunt Emma,
Your daughters are killing your establishment with their service!
First, a true measurement of the quality of a resturant is how well it deals with a rush. I came here during the Saturday morning rush.
At first, they were able to get our orders in and out but after that our server completelt forgot about us! I shouldn’t have to stare down a server to get a refill of water or coffee.
I ordered an omlette with green peppers and chiles. I think this from the south of the border section of the menu.
The green peppers and chiles were a little bit too watery and it just made the eggs feel mushy. The omlette also needes more seasoning. I was pretty disappointed.
My partner ordered the waffles and that was delicious, and it made me really want to exchange my order.
I’d give this place another chance, but they really need to step up their game during a rush.

I have raved before about Aunt Emma’s in the National City location and I must say that this location in Chula Vista has improved !!!
I recommend starting early around here because this place does get busy and full real fast .
Parking is limited but they do have an agreement with hotel next door for parking overflow .
Our waitress Gina was spectacular and efficient like always .
All around great experience !!
Food is great and affordable .

My advice is to go before 10am or there will be a line out the door and a long wait. Waitress was very nice. Ordered the German Crêpe and it was good but they forgot my side of eggs. Reminded the waitress and it was brought out promptly thereafter. My wife ordered the bacon, eggs, pancakes and hash browns. Um that’s where it for bad. The first order of hash browns were so soggy even the waitress said they looked like mashed potatoes! The second round of hash browns were brunt on the outside and soggy on the inside again. My wife loves has browns and this was a horrible start to the day. The bacon was even undercooked.
This place is known for their pancakes and my wife took one bite and didn’t want to finish the rest. Even the lady in front of us took a bite of her own pancakes and pushed her plate aside.
The fact that our food came out so fast after ordering should have made me rethink how good they were gonna be – I thought wrong.
My mimosa wasn’t even normal. It lacked the orange juice part but it was very good.
Overall my German crêpe and eggs were good and the only thing my wife could eat was her eggs. Basically, breakfast was a fail at this place.
