Cool Down Coffee

I really like this place because it’s so casual and they play worship music. I like the cute décor and the house coffee was just prefect.

This coffee shop is in a very odd location within the trolley parking lot for the E st trolley stop. But the coffee they serve is amazing!!! It is also very nice inside. My Fiancé and I have stopped by on various occasions and Alex has always treated us very well.
We love getting the White Mocha Mint frappuccino here.
This is a great coffee shop located in west Chula Vista.

Down in Chula Vista early one morning. Searched Unilocal for a local coffee shop (I prefer to support local over a chain) and stopped in here for coffee.
Service: Friendly, patient with new customers, helpful and smiley.
Dirty Chai Latte with an extra shot: Superb. Best I’ve had in San Diego. I kid you not. Not other local places, not any chains have this good of an offering.
Ambiance: Comfortable, light, pleasant.
I’m serious about the flavor of my chai. This was good. Only one better that I’ve had was in Portland, OR.
Looks like they offer some tasty and fresh food as well. If I’m ever down this way and in the need of a snack or coffee again, I will most definitely come here.
I should add, I noticed another review that says they play «worship music»… Um, they were not playing that when I visited. Thankfully. I’d have walked out before ordering.

GREAT place to hang out.

I’ve been to this coffee shop several times throughout the years and the taste of their frappes are always on point. Every now and then I pass by and buy either a frappé or an iced coffee before heading to work. Friendly staff, reasonable prices, comfy sofas, wifi available and they have a street view to whetever you seat. It is next to –E street transit station and few bus routes– also provide bus schedules and local info pamphlets. Give it a try, you won’t regret it :)

My wife and I were visiting from Seattle; we know and love our coffee. We were disappointed to see that local coffee shops aren’t as popular here as they are back home, but luckily we found Cool Down! Their brew tastes fantastic! Friendly, fast service! They are definitely our go-​to coffee shop! 5 Stars from two coffee loving Seattleites.

Visited Alex’s Cool Down Coffee shop for the 1^st time since opening up at his relocated spot! Was a regular of his when he had his small coffee shop in Eastlake. So happy for Alex for his new (well, not so new as he’s been here for a year now)! Just sad that it’s taken me so long to finally visit there again… Ordered a «Cool Down Breakfast sandwich (jalapeño bagel, scrambled eggs, ham, Swiss cheese, & mayo) and a large hot Café Americano w/​half & half. Breakfast sandwich was served hot & fresh and was delicious, my Americano was very reasonably priced (less than $ 3). Both for less than $ 8 with tax. Chula Vista’s been needing a non-​franchise mom & pop coffee shop on the west side for a while! Alex has a very accessible coffee shop right next to the trolley stop at I-​5 & E St! Come down and visit! The dining area is nice, clean, could use a few more seating, but the ambiance is nice and Alex & his wife are the friendliest folks you’ll ever come across.

This coffee shop is a 5 star for sure! Best coffee shop in town… and the owner Alex is one of the nicest people you will meet. Would recommend this shop to anyone who is in the area!

This place is so cute and I loved the food and the frappé. The guys there were really nice and patient as we tried to decide what to order!

Amazing food and service. For my first time here, I was given great recommendations and tried their breakfast sandwich, it was delicious! I felt very welcomed and loved the atmosphere.

My drink tasted good. But the guy this morning didn’t charge me for soy milk. After I repeated twice that I needed that because I’m lactose intolerant. I saw the girl making my drink and asked him if it was being made with soymilk. Because I saw her making the drink out of a milk jug. He said no I didn’t charge you for that. And that’s all he said. He didn’t try to repair the situation. He needs to take customer service management classes. He didn’t seem interested at all. On top of that he said he couldn’t charge me for soymilk by it’s self. And I barely had change to give him the 60 cents. Which could have been avoided me if he had charged me correctly in the first place. No tip!

Nice place. Yes, there are Christian quotes and perhaps music (was not playing while I was there) but, as you will find Buddha statues, Mayan, Chaldean and other cultures in other establishments, I was not bothered. Great location at the Bayfront trolley and bus hub. Coffee, baked goods and comfortable dining area that encourages lingering. I was there at 8:00am with one other customer seated at the banquette. They offered us small samples of hot chocolate. When you eat in house, your food arrives with napkins, cutlery and plates. No plastic forks here.

Lovely guy serving coffee! Good taste, freshly made espresso. Would recommend this place over any Starbucks or coffee anywhere around chula Vista.

Great place for a coffee! When I walked in the smell of coffee was heavenly. I ordered a Iced White Chocolate Mocha to-​go and was able to redeem the 15% Unilocal check in offer with no problem. My total was just three bucks and change and the writing on the cup was cute. Inside they have a decent sitting area with couches and chairs. Nothing fancy, but cozy for sure. The coffee is organic and ground fresh daily. I really enjoyed the taste of my white mocha and will make the point to stop by again when I’m in the area. Aside from coffee they also have smoothies, breakfast and lunch sandwiches, bagels and pastries on the menu. Definitely a place worth stopping by for coffee.

It’s quite a unique and it’s well located at the E St and Bayfront trolley station.

I love cool down! I only gave them a 4 star because they got rid of the most delicious drink out there, the Mexican mocha frappé. I would come here just for that and the Christian music when they were in Eastlake. The new location is good for trolley access. Please bring back the delicious Mexican Mocha Frappé! Will visit again as the people are always delightful.

This place is so cool, I love the name the employees were super nice. Coffee is great, the ambiance is very refreshing too. This is definitely an encouraging place to be/​visit!

Very cool place and very easy location to get to. Right next to the trolley station and a big parking lot. Definitely the best QUALITY of coffee in the area. They offer a different organic brew weekly, which has me sold. I love the taste of coffee alone and theirs is fresh and not burnt tasting. Clean and cozy ambiance and your beverage is served to you with a smile. The owners are there daily and are truly kind and appreciative of each customer. You don’t visit many places like this anymore!
I love coffee plane and simple but I hear the frappes are a must try and I’ll be going back there soon to get one.
