I got food poisoning on April 16, 2016. I had to see dr. several times, spent 6 hours in emergency room; tests revealed it was not ecoli or salmonella; it was a bacterial infection. I was given prescription for antibiotics; I’m on a liquid diet for 10 days and I’ve never been so sick in my life. DON’T RISKYOURHEALTH!

Well, guys, I hate to bump off stars, as this was one of my favorite Chinese restaurants in the South Bay… But the wheels have fallen off here, at least service-wise. I’ve been coming here for more than 10 years; I’ve always had great service along with fresh and hot food. A family trip to this East H Street location this last Saturday proved to be the end of that 10 year relationship, and in a bad way. Although we WERE seated quickly, we were left to rot for 10 minutes before the hostess took pity on us, and took our drink orders. After she brought those, she mentioned that she didn’t know where our server was, so SHE would take our order. OK… Great! The four of us ordered a braised beef ramen, the beef and asparagus, orange chicken, salt and pepper shrimp and rice for all. After about 20 minutes, a single dish of orange chicken showed up, with no rice or any other dishes for that matter. The server stated that they had somehow lost our order, and that they were trying to get it out as fast as possible. So, to our dismay, each dish showed up, with about a 10 minute separation, each one not being quite enough for four people. The rice came last. REALLY? Absolutely miserable experience and although ALMOST two stars due to the passable food quality, still really bad. We received a discount on the check, but that won’t make us come back to this service nightmare. Not recommended, and I tend not to say that lightly. BTW, we weren’t the only people having issues, and I personally witnessed two other nearby tables complaining about missing dishes or incorrect orders. Unfortunate.

Personally, I like the changes and the new menu. We’ve been coming here for years when we are in the area. Love the new menu. Before, it was too confusing to have two or three menus. Today I had the Garlic Broccoli with Shrimp. It was fabulous! I’d definitely order it again. For $ 7.99 I got Hot and Sour Soup(very good); an Egg Roll; rice and the Garlic Broccoli Shrimp with at least 12 shrimp. You could really taste the garlic but it wasn’t over powering and the broccoli was crunchy and perfectly cooked. My DH had the Sweet and Sour Chicken with Egg Drop Soup. He said it was very good. It’s what he orders every time. I don’t really care that they don’t serve a fortune cookie with the bill…

I’ve eaten here for years. The food is delicious but the service leaves MUCH to be desired. The served actually argued me down over a simple point about an additional menu they provide. I was here less than 24 hours ago and asked about the«other menu with the pictures» the server insisted that I didn’t know what I was talking about. It was a horrible experience and I’ll NEVER eat here again!

Hair on my food. I posted the picture on here already. Don’t come to this place. Bad bad bad bad customer service. Manager will not listen to the customers and doesn’t make changes to improve things. They’ll soon will be out of business if this keeps happening.

So below average even for restaurant– challanged Chula Vista. The«japanese» food was the worst. Miso soup tasted like dish water and it went down hill from there, watery flavorless ponzu sauce on tempura. sushi looked and tasted pre-packaged.just a downer all around. waitress are curt… the Coke was the best thing there.

Good food, nice service. Our daughter loves the miso soup with extra tofu and rice;) The honey walnut shrimp is good and the orange chicken is a family favorite too!

Today hubby and I decided to give this place a chance. Upon first entering the restaurant we were pleased at the inside and how clean it was. Very modern and the attendant was great. The waiter was responsive and quick. I ordered an ice coffee and I loved it I will be back just for one of those again. I ordered the orange chicken with fried rice the orange chicken was wonderful not the best that I’ve ever had but it was good and the fried rice was good but not the best that I’ve ever had either. However, I would recommend this restaurant.

I’ve been going to this place ever since I was young and this place has changed a lot. It’s great that it’s connected to Bento & Noodles. The food is yummy and not to pricey! My favorite is the pan friend house noodles! The staff is a hit or miss. Sometimes friendly sometimes rude.

Low quality tasteless oily sludge. We got the $ 12.59 dinner for 2. The first course is a tasteless egg drop soup which even soy sauce couldn’t save, followed by a plate of fried beyond recognition items, and finally cashew chicken(sweet beyond belief) and Mongolian beef(bland, soggy and gross). Will not be returning. They couldn’t even get the green tea right! And obviously the server couldn’t care less that there were full plates of food left on the table and when she asked us if we wanted boxes we said we didn’t as it wasn’t very good. She ignored us and brought the check! Don’t waste your money on these slimy, overcooked calories!

I love this place! It’s got great food and great service for fair prices. I go to places like PF Changs and The Marine Room, and as far as a true«rating» I’d give this place 3 Stars. Now as far as a 3 Star Restaurant goes, they get 5 stars for their level of prestige!

Ordered a bento. It was OK. Same taste as Hanaoka or similar restaurants. Nothing special here. I guess if you want something quick and fast Chinese or Japanese style food. This would be it on H st. I never get a refill here … not even water. Parking is OK. It is a little confusing when you walk in as it is 2 restaurants in one. Next time I will try the Chinese menu. However, It would be nice to drink something down with my food. I will add another star next time if I get a refill, food taste above average and service is good.

My manager and I are about to order food through the phone 2x and both times we were placed on hold and both times they hung up on us. Then my manager went inside the restaurant and nicely asked why they hung up, the employee respond in a very rude way. This isn’t the first, or second, or third times they’ve been rude to us. The sad part is, we are neighbors in the same shopping center. I suggest the manager respond to this review ASAP, because this isn’t the only review I have given you. I’ve given a couple to bento as well.

There’s not too many good Chinese restaurants in Chula Vista. This place is one of the better Chinese food places that you will find in Chula Vista. The best dish there is the House Chow Mein(we substituted beef for the ham) it’s the best chow mein I ever tasted in San Diego. The rest of the Chinese food there is ok but the chow mein is the only thing really worth going there for. We ordered sushi as well, their prices is kinda steep, the rolls range from $ 5 and up so you can see why we ordered a lot of California rolls(cause they were the cheapest lol) The also charge a gratuity for parties 6 or more. Bottle of beer cost $ 4.75(that’s why you only see one bottle in the pic cause it was to pricey lol)

Chinese food is not my cup of tea but I gave it another try. We sat on the Japanese side(I guess there are two sides to the restaurant) I cannot remember the name of what I ordered but it is a tray with two options for $ 9+. I tried for the first time in my life Miso soup, it was delicious! There is a variety of options, and I chose the sweet and sour chicken, California sushi, salad, and rice. It would have been great if the sauce that was used on the chicken was not so sweet(literally!) I imagined something different. I am extremely picky and rarely eat chinese/japanese food because my palate is not used to the condiments/flavors, not my first option of dinning out. The best thing was my dessert! I had the green tea ice cream and it was delicious! That I would highly recommend it! And our server and service was awesome!

I’ve lived in Chula Vista for 14 years, never ate here as I don’t come to Terra Nova very often. Decided to try it as a new experience. Well…as you might have read from my other reviews, my husband Ernie is MUCH kinder than I am about reviews and food quality. On this one, he ate the shrimp off his dish, a few noodles, and then passed on all the rest. I asked him what he thought and he said he wasn’t impressed. That says it all. The almond chicken was flavorless. The most flavor was in the sliced almonds. The egg drop soup was a neon orange color, and bland. I actually had to ADD salt to the dishes to squeeze out some flavor. The lunch salad started out okay, but then the dressing got watered down about halfway through it… and we are talking a small cup of soup here. No wontons. Won’t come here again. I can’t imagine how it’s stayed in business for 14 years in a busy shopping mall in a prime area.
