We arrive @ 5:30 already know what item we want go to start the order the cut off time for same day delivery is 6:00pm so we have plenty of time before the cut off since we know what item we want. The 2 ladies helping us are obviously not trained properly since a part of our order was getting financed thru progressive a finance company they use at jeromes she told us at the last min after 6:00 yes after 6:00 that she needed a voided ck my husband goes to the bank to get a check well the 2 ladies that looked so confused as to how to place a order for us kept his ID! Yes so he couldn’t get the checks therefore we couldn’t complete the order & no same day delivery for us! I left so frustrated after over a hour at the store a complete waste of time since nothing was accomplished! I call back to speak to a manager they apologized for having 2 trainees help us. Well that explained why they obviously looked so dam confused & couldn’t place a order & didn’t know what documents to ask from us upfront! Really why would they leave 2 trainees alone to help customers place orders! Where’s the dam supervisor to watch them do their job correctly! Forget jeromes! Not giving them my $$$$

Horrible quality, worse customer service by phone. Broken parts delivered and rude customer service by phone dealing with situation. Take your money elsewhere by all means!

Furniture is sub par to say least due to furniture falling apart at the seams, extended warranty was purchased only to be more of a pain, instead of a reassurance. Fax here fax there, instead of saying, yes we’ll be glad to help. Never again Jerome’s

Went to Jerome’s yesterday with my parents they were looking for a couple of things. We absolutely had a wonderful shopping experience all because of the sales representative Melissa Almada.
Melissa went above and beyond explaining and answering every question and concern, with a great big genuine smile on her face the entire time. Melissa is an example of what customer service means and what makes customers keep coming back. Melissa had amazing product knowledge, patience, professionalism, and a great attitude.
We loved her so much the next day we went back and got a few more things. We made sure Melissa was there before we went. Honestly dont think we would of gone if it was her day off.
Jerome’s should definitely feel proud of having such a great customer service driven person like her representing the company. Thank you Melissa your time was greatly appreciated. You made our shopping experience a perfect one!
Highly recommend asking for her when you visit Jerome’s.

Future potential customers please pay attention to the one star reviews on this page. They are not just one-​off, bad experiences to be ignored. My wife and I have shopped at this Jerome’s Furniture on more than one occasion, and we can both sympathize with the terrible reviews. We will never set foot in any Jerome’s again.
Our most recent experience with this business involved the purchase of a new couch (with chase) and an area rug for our new apartment. We arrived at the store several weeks prior to our move in date, and we were given the usual aggressive treatment in our search for the perfect furniture desired. The sales associates appear friendly, but they are far too eager to push you towards a sale. This is the biggest issue with employees of furniture companies being compensated in the same manner as car salesmen. The promises they make regarding the ease of delivery is where our real issue began. It is the most painful part of the entire process.
We paid for the couch and area rug in full before we left the store, and we were excited that the details had been worked out without a problem. Because it was a custom order, we were made aware that the furniture order would not arrive for three weeks. This was standard, and our move in date almost matched up perfectly with the delivery date anyway. A week had almost passed after our move had finished, but there was still no call in regards to the whereabouts of our order. My wife was rightfully getting upset. I immediately pulled up the initial email from our purchase to verify our estimated delivery time. It read as follows, «your order will be delayed by 3 weeks.» This triggered me to call the customer service number to find out about our order.
One call quickly turned into three calls, and each representative had a different answer about the estimated delivery date. I couldn’t understand why there was no solid answer after almost four weeks had passed since the order was placed. The next step was to visit the store once again. I asked a customer service representative about the confusing phone calls, and she confirmed that my furniture would arrive for inspection no later than the following Monday. She advised me to call on that date to confirm. I called first thing Monday morning, and I was told once again that my order had been delayed until Wednesday. Needless to say, I was absolutely furious at this point.
I called back the customer service line that Monday afternoon, and I demanded that the furniture arrive in the next 24 hours. I had enough of this back and forth. I was bounced around the phone twice before receiving a «manager,» and I admit to being quite angry in both tone and language. However, they magically made my couch arrive that Wednesday. I waited several days before calling about the area rug because I was pleased with the quick response to the issue with the couch. When I finally called, I was told once again that the rug was on «back-​order,» and it would be another week. I instantly demanded a refund on the rug, and they were all too happy to oblige. (On a side note, the area rug was not customized. That was only the couch. That would have meant a wait time of five weeks for a normal area rug.)
If you’ve stuck with me through this entire story, please take away at least this. Jerome’s may sucker you in with their advertisement strategy and their wide selection of furniture, but the attraction quickly ends as soon as you drop the money into the hands of this unorganized mess of a company. Do not let them do the same to you! Remember, your money is like a vote for a company and the way it operates. Jerome’s does not deserve your vote.
P. S. I don’t need or want a response from a Jerome’s customer service representative. There is nothing that will convince me to spend another penny with that company. This is just a warning to all those concerned about a pleasant furniture buying experience. With Jerome’s, you won’t get one.

3,000 $ aireloom mattress and Jeromes wont HONOR their warranty.
My wife and i bought an expensive 3000 $ aireloom mattress from Jerome’s about 5 years ago. It started to sag on both sides of the mattress. We put in a claim because it was still under warranty. A supposive 25 year warranty. An inspection was done and my claim was denied because the matress had a stain. I asked what does a stain have to do with the mattress sagging? The stain was not even on the side the mattress was sagging. They say it automatically voids the warranty. Would you void a warranty on a cars motor because the taillight is cracked? I guess they found s loop hole so they dont have to HONOR their warranty. I have spent over 18 thousand dollars at Jerome’s when we bought our home. NEVER AGAIN WILL I STEP INTO ANOTHER JEROME’S STORE. Wow!

Had a great experience with saleswoman Lyndsay. We went in for a mattress boxspring and purchased a whole bedroom set. Great prices and many choices.

My first experience at Jerome’s was last year when my husband and I purchased a sectional couch. We were helped by an older man who’s name I don’t remember. He was not pushy and did not follow us around which was really nice. It was a pleasant experience and we were happy with our purchase. The delivery was prompt and we had no issues.
A few days ago, I decided to check out Jerome’s one more time. I walked in to BROWSE their selection of dining table sets (which was fairly small if I may add), and I had a very different experience. I am a shopper that likes my personal space and I like to be on my own while I look around. As I walked in immediately, a saleswoman rushed towards me and did not leave my side for my entire visit. I totally understand that every customer should be to be greeted and acknowledged when walking in to a store, but this woman made me feel a uncomfortable. The attention she gave me was on another level and felt fake. It may be good for others, but not for me. She stood next to me no further than 5 feet away the ENTIRE time. It would’ve been nice to browse all by myself and not feel pressured. To be honest, I just wanted to leave the store and browse online. When I finally mentioned that I did not plan on making a purchase that day, her tone of voice totally changed and she seemed annoyed (I could read her body language). I was very turned off by this, and even more so when I asked about our current protection plan on our couch. She was very vague when she attempted answering my questions about repair and reupholstering.
Overall, this place needs to re-​evaluate how they train their sales team. Like, I get it. People are there to earn commission and make money, but seriously, some customers just want to shop and browse comfortably. Can they be just a little less pushy? I don’t want a sales team flocking towards me as soon as I walk in.

I just helped my mom pick out new furniture for her living room with the help of Juan Valenzuela at The Jerome’s location in Chula Vista. I work in the furniture retail business and was truly impressed by Juan’s knowledge, kindness and non-​pushy service. I don’t know any other retail that offers a warranty or cleaning program for furniture like Jerome’s does. Thank you Juan for your help and I’m sure both my mother will be back again to make further furniture purchases.

The sales people are more aggressive than a used car salesmen. They will stalk you all over the show floor. We were approached by an older man who saw my husband and said, «do you know who helped you yesterday? You were here yesterday!» My husband responded «Yes I was.» Then proceeded to look for the man that helped him the day before but before he could say the name the older man said, «Oh that was me! I helped you!» we walked passed him and my husband told me, «He did not help me yesterday!»
The inventory wasn’t trendy or modern or even functional. We didn’t find anything that was worth purchasing.

We bought the most gorgeous bedroom set and sectional. Al Gore patiently helped us and even offered his design ideas. He is absolutely wonderful and I couldn’t be more happy with my purchase. I opted for same day delivery and my furniture arrived sooner the given time frame. The only down fall was the delivery men not wanting to remove their dirty shoes in my home, but they eventually did. Other than that, I’m completely happy. Thanks Jerome’s and thank you Mr. Gore!

The worst experience in my life! I had a scheduled time of 11am on a Saturday to drop off a living room set and bunk bed, they called at 7am to asked if they can arrive early, never confirmed since we were sleeping. MIND we were moving into a new location so we obviously weren’t «home». The driver showed up anyways at 8 am, and basically said oh well. They attempted to send another driver late night, until my husband has to call and ask them to come sooner. When they finally arrived several hours later they dropped off a couch with a hole, and a defective bunk bed.
They decided to come on Sunday the following day to bring the new bed pieces that they needed, but when they arrived they didn’t have the tools that they needed. Also didn’t have any idea on what was going on and kept asking my husband and I what was wrong with the set. This is their job to know not ours
.
The 4^th truck was set to come out and deliver a new set. After calling and calling, no answers, hanging up on me. It’s been the worst experience to spend 3000 to have so many issues. I would never buy from here again, and definitely not recommend. horrible

Just going to start by saying «Never go to Jerome’s» there are much better quality places in San Diego. Here is why … I went to Jerome’s to purchase a couch. The salesman was very nice and seemed to know a lot about the couches. He got me sold on a leather couch… not cheap at about 2,500 dollars. I got this one because it appeared to be very nice and the salesman told me it was top of the line. So I purchased the couch and financed it. As a matter of fact still paying for it. I also purchased the insurance which cost me an extra couple hundred.
Couch gets delivered with no problems. Looks good inside the house and really enjoyed having it. Then after about six months the wife and I noticed a bubble in the leather. About a month after noticing that bubble the leather starts to peel. We were like OK we have the insurance so we will call Jerome’s. Now this is where Jerome’s true colors show. After talking with Jerome’s we had a person come out to our house to inspect the couch. This person took pictures and inspected the couch. He told us he could try rubbing some ink on the spot to fix it or just replace the damaged area. We told him to replace it because ink will not fix the peeling. He told us he was going to get it replaced. Ok that’s awesome. About three weeks later we get a small package in the mail and open it up to find a small brown magic marker. It had no instructions so that’s when it hit us, This was the magic marker for our couch. This was Jerome’s way to fix a 2500 dollar peeling leather couch.
The wife and I were pissed that this was Jerome’s way to fix an obvious poor quality couch. This was not damaged because we had damaged it. It was just poor quality in the leather. So the wife left a crappy review with Unilocal.We were soon contacted by this guy Zachary E. Zachary gave some song and dance reply on Unilocal stating how he wants to talk about it and fix the problem. We finally got in touch with Zachary after several tries, but after reading these reviews Zachary is a busy guy with all the complaints. So I understand the delay for him. Spoke with Zachary who seemed concerned and told
Me he was going to make things right and asked me to send him pictures of the couch. I think I sent a total of 4 pictures for Zachary to review. This was in December 2015. I thought that because of the holidays he was going to get with me mid January. Well that did not happen and I wrote Zachary another email in Feb 1015 about how I have not heard from him. Well still no response to this day and now it’s April 2016.
To all that have read my horror story of my waste of money to the Jerome’s empire, please… please…please pay attention to other reviews and NEVER EVER go to Jerome’s. You may think it’s quality but it’s not and combined with horrible customer service. You buy insurance and still get nothing but a bigger bill for buying the insurance. It’s obvious Jerome’s is going to do nothing for me only collect my monthly payment for a leather couch that is worthless. Very embarrassed when we have company over with this peeling leather couch. My only satisfaction is that when someone mentions the word furniture, comes over to my house, or the word Jerome’s, I immediate tell them to NEVER go to Jerome’s and tell them my horror story. I tell them go to Unilocal and see the bad reviews. My friends, family, and co-​workers have heard my story and told me they will never go to Jerome’s as should everyone else. You have been warned.

During the sales process, everything was great. We got all the pieces of furniture we wanted and even opened up a credit line with Synchrony Bank in order to finance the purchases. Where the nightmare began was when we requested a refund for the Guardian insurance that was purchased for a recliner we never received. We ended up cancelling this said recliner because it was not in stock but we expected the insurance to be refunded in a timely process as well. This did not happen.
I called both the Synchrony Bank and Chula Vista store’s customer service line. This began in September and has still not been solved. It is now March of the next year. I was told in November that an initial push for this refund was sent. I checked back after a few weeks and both parties did not hear of any such refund. I addressed my complaint again come January and it was personally pushed by Zachary Estle from the customer service department for social media. I found his information online and figured I could get to a better situation if I addressed my complaint to an actual person. He promised that it would get personally handled but all throughout the month of January, the store did not know of any such refund. Again. I was told to call again next month (this is February at this point).
I called Synchrony Bank directly and they said that since this has been an ongoing problem, they will just go ahead and dispute the charge of $ 49.99 since they do not see anything from Jerome’s on their end. I agreed and they said they will investigate the charge. I call the store in Chula Vista again and they claim that accounting has finally pushed it through the same day that I called and claimed that it went through «a couple of minutes ago.» How convenient. I’m not even sure I believe it nor do I know if the reason why the $ 49.99 has been finally deducted from my account was due to the dispute that Synchrony addressed or because the refund actually went through.
Again, the entire process is said to take another 2 – 3 months to finalize. I was not happy about how this was all handled and the fact that it has still not been solved. I understand that waiting for the statements and billing cycles take time but the fact that this has been postponed since last year as well as the lack of communication among the two parties are just unacceptable.

If I could give them Zero stars I would! THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE! I bought an expensive mattress and they said if anything happens to it they will replace it. That’s bullshit! I have bought a mattress protector and was told if I buy it and any stains go through they will replace it… yea fucking right!!! They have been giving me the run around for 2 years! I have been trying to get a hold of jerry himself but he’s no where to be found. Do not shop at this store. They only care about taking your money!!!
DO NOT FALL FOR THE STUPID GUARANTEE mattress PROTECTORS OR extra warranty BECAUSE ITS ALL BULLSHIT!

The company told me to pay out of pocket for the cleaning of my own mattress!!! Are you fucking kidding me?! What kind of business guarantees mattress protectors and tells me to pay out of pocket because the product they stood behind failed?!

I want you to know that even though you could give 2 fucks about customers because your sitting with your perfect little family in la Jolla sipping on fancy wine, making money off of people who have to work hard for their money I thought you would have some type of respect for the people who continue to make you Rich. My 2 kids sleep on my fucking bed and because of you they have both have fallen into the sagging of your sorry ass mattress! I want to hear from you! And what are you going to do to fix this?!? I want to give Jeromes Furniture a much deserved FIVE STAR review coming from a very picky customer with very high expectations. Before I continue I want to emphasize that the associates at Jeromes earned their stars through various visits over a period of 6 months.
Let me start off with my experience as I walked in the door; so I walk in with my girlfriend and first thing we see is five + associates lined up in the hallway and we’re thinking «oh sshhhiiii*» it’s one of those places were you have to fight off the salesmen every five minutes but we were wrong. Every one super layed back just greeted us and Cesar comes along asking is what we were looking for I let him know that we probably wouldn’t be buying anything that day and we just wanted to see for a future move. That did not discourage him one bit from providing EXCEPTIONAL customer service answering all of our questions while providing extra information without hawking over us he made us feel at ease the entire time. Well thanks to that we put on layaway about $ 7000 worth of furniture. He informed us that we could add or take away or change stuff at anytime a big plus.
As our move date approached a few months later we went in to apply for the credit since there was still quite a balance left and we happened to meet Jose since it was evening hours and Cesar was out. This guys was super helpful and patient, my credit was declined then my girlfriend was declined but he gave us all the info we needed and was encouraging finally we say let’s give it a shot together and BAM approved for both of their credit lines. Thank you Jose for your patience and guidance.
Next, I walk in two days before the furniture is set to be delivered since our new home is three stories high I did not want to carry anything. This time Alice helped me pick out a bed a mattress and boy do I gotta tell you she made my experience super fun she is a character never a dull moment around Alice! Thanks Alice my King size bed is AMAZING your recommendation was great You truly stand out with your amazing personality you truly are a ROCKSTAR! You guys have to meet Alice if you’re ever in.
Let me not forget Diego while we were checking out he was great keeping my orders on track made sure I was taken care of while we waited for the normally boring check out process we were having fun chatting away between him Alice and myself my time flew by.
Thanks to the Jeromes team I have my dream home with all new furniture!

Bad experience from when I went inside the showroom to when I picked up my couch.
The sales lady Merisol, would not leave me alone and kept following me around the store when I told her I was just looking. I found what I wanted in bloopers and of course she was in the same area when I found the couch so I told her I wanted it.
When I came to pick up the couch, it wasn’t even wrapped! They wanted me to just toss it in the back of my dirty truck. I bought a floor model mattress from sleep train and they wrapped my mattress for me and were very helpful. I wish they sold couches too.
The couch was a different color outside in nature light than it did inside their showroom. They need to change the lighting inside the showroom
The couch also had a rip in the back which I obviously didn’t get to see before I bought it since it was against the wall. I will not shop here again!

I wish I had paid attention to all the awful reviews for this place before entering this dump.
A month ago my daughter’s bed frame broke from wear and tear over the years so currently her mattress is on the bare floor. My daughter a couple of days ago came down with a terrible cold that began drifting into bronchitis so I set out today to buy a bed frame so she wouldn’t be as exposed to the floor dust and cold drafts from underneath the windows and door. I went into this store and talked to a nice gentlemen named Carlos and bought a metal frame from him. As I got home, my son in law began assembling the bed and what a surprise we had to find out that not one, not two, but FOUR important pieces and bars were missing from the box. Not to mention that the bed frame color looked faded and scratched in certain areas.
I immediately called customer service and the people were extremely incompetent. Not only did they tell me I had to wait until WEDNESDAY to replace the set, but I also would have to exchange it for a brand new one and that I would be charged extra. Basically, I was sold a used bed frame that was pulled from the back, and had been opened but was taped up, thrown with random pieces together, and made to look new. And customer service would only exchange me for a new one, and only if I gave them a difference in payment. I decided immediately to get a refund.
Jerome’s Furniture certainly lived up to its name on the Internet. The worst furniture store to buy from. I will never shop here again and I will make sure that my friends and family know about my experience and all the horror stories from here.
