As far as I’m concerned the best goetta in town. Plus the Who-​Dey brats are awesome. Great selection and great service. So much selection.

Eckerlin has the best goetta around, and we all know how much Cincinnatians love their goetta. But in addition to the Cincinnati’s Wonder Meat, I’ve been to Eckerlin to get to-​order breakfast sandwiches (goetta, egg, and cheese on bun or bread, depending on which I’ve gone) and the service has always been great. The place is usually pretty crowded, but with as many workers as they have on the clock seemingly at all times, they have a pretty great system down.
I highly recommend Eckerlin for any meats or deli goods you may need. It all always looks so delicious.

The kitchen sink burgers are delicious! The peppered bacon makes for an excellent BLT. I have had great success with their cuts of meat and their goetta made me a fan. I mean I always liked it but now I can easily be talked into going to Eckerlin for a goetta breakfast sandwich!
You do want to know you picks when it’s your turn so you can keep the line moving, but if you need to ask questions all the staff I’ve encountered have been very friendly.

Eckerlin’s has exceptional quality meats. We go every week for their fresh selection. They are the only place in the tri-​state that I’ve been able to buy a tri-​tip. They have a big variety of local meats also. Their goetta is, hands down, the BEST goetta in Cincinnati! And they make it themselves. It’s a must! They definitely will continue to have my business!

Picture your freshly 21yr old self going up to bar to get a drink and somehow everyone else gets served before you. This is what happens to you if you don’t wiggle your way up front and yell «me!» when they ask who is next at Eckerlin’s Meats. Clearly everyone else had been there before and seemed to be known by name by a staff member. Super friendly and helpful staff. They move quickly and appear to enjoy interacting with their customers.
I think you can order ahead of time because I saw a bunch of tickets hanging on a wall — mental note for locals. They have a wide variety of meats from portabella stuffed flank to goetta (a Cincy orginal style sausage).
Two tips of advise: scope out what you want before you holler for help and don’t think about your arteries for a few minutes while you’re there (it’ll be a wee bit of a buzz kill if you think too much).

Hard to beat the energy in this place. On a busy Saturday morning shoppers are pushing their way to the front to purchase their weekly dose of carne. Located in the Findlay Market «complex», one can easily purchase everything else on their shopping list in one shebang. Our mission included the Cincy Classic, goetta, a mixture of ground pork and oats. Prices seem standard and the employees keep the traffic moving. Highly recommend checking this place out the next time you’re in the OTR neighborhood.

Really great old fashioned butcher. They make their own goetta. When I was in this morning they had five 50-​pound bags of steel-​cut oat groats stacked in the entry, waiting for goetta making. And when their credit-​card machine wasn’t working properly, they told me to go do the rest of my shopping and come back to pay for the food I’d already stuck into my bag.

Love, love, love these guys! Everyone is always so nice & my husband can always tell when we have Eckerlin’s instead of grocery meat.
Beef jerky is awesome as well!

Best darn beef jerky i have eaten!’ Bought some cajun bacon and spicy four cheese sausages too. I really wanted the bison but we had fish to bring home:) don’t wait til inside to buy meat… these folks are the bomb!

Few things say Cincinnati more than Findlay Market and goetta. Eckerlin’s is your ticket for both. It’s the butcher that has a storefront closest to the parking lot and outside of the main drag of the market with all the stalls inside.
Now, if you don’t know what goetta is, you’ve been missing out on life — you’d be surprised at how good it can be. Let’s just say it’s the breakfast meat you have probably never heard of or ever tried but you’ll be glad you did. It has German-​American origins, and it’s largely a Cincinnati tradition that hasn’t seemed to «make it» outside of the Greater Cincinnati area. What makes goetta special is that on top of a sausage made with ground pork (and other ground meats) and seasonings, the early German-​American immigrants added STEELCUT OATMEAL to it. Sure, take that pause to really think about it. Keep an open mind and try it anyway! It won’t disappoint.
ESPECIALLY if you buy it at Eckerlin’s. The chalkboard on the sidewalk outside the butcher shop claims that their goetta is ‘award-​winning.” Now, I don’t know who awarded what award to them, but it is truly well-​deserved. The seasoning blend is earthy and just salty enough, and it all pan-​fries so beautifully in a frying pan. I really am tempted to go back and buy some more…
Also, the service is really top-​notch. All the butchers are really patient and willing to work with what you want, even if you can’t verbalize it. They will give you as little or as much as you want of the goetta, and it’s not that expensive either. When I bought it, it was $ 4.19/lb which is cheaper than what the butcher shops inside Findlay were selling it for.
Finally, they have $ 5 deli sandwiches, using Watson and Dietz meats which just reminds me of my days in Philly. I got the turkey pastrami hot on rye, and it comes with their homemade sauerkraut too. It was also made with such love on the grilltop — well worth the $ 5!

Eckerlin’s is my go-​to for all things pork (and more!) in Cincinnati. It took me a year of grocery shopping at Findlay to discover Eckerlin’s and I’m sad I missed out on a year of their delicious-​ness. When I discovered that they have at least 5 different types of bacon I knew I was in the right place.
Some of my favorites sold by Eckerlin: applewood-​smoked bacon, goetta (they have both regular and peppered), ground turkey breast (which is significantly cheaper than what you would find at the super market), and the chicken italian sausage they make — which I’ve recently learned must be very popular since they’ve been out of it the last two times I tried to get it.
While the food is great, the service is even better! Since I go to Findlay on the crowded Saturday or Sunday late mornings, I’m used to waiting 5 or 10 minutes before being waited on, but I’ve never had to wait at Eckerlin’s. The men who have waited on me have always been extremely patient with my indecisiveness. One recent time I went in and they were out of chicken italian sausage they even gave me some free sausage from one of their suppliers to give them feedback on the comparison between their homemade version and this one.
In summary, great food, great prices and great customer service. You can’t go wrong!

I picked up some mushroom and provolone stuffed flank steak from here that was absolutely amazing. The peppered bacon was really good too and tasted delicious in the BLT I made. The staff is very friendly and helpful if you have any questions.

not only did I go all around Findlay Market, Ive been all around Cincinnati and «Eckerlin’s Meat» is the only place i could find that has veal! I could finally stop complaining about the Eye-​Talian food in Cincy and make my own Veal Parm thanks to Eckerlin’s (and no one else as far as I can tell). Thanks Eckerlins! I’ll choose to buy my ground beef and steaks from you too!

I live in Indianapolis and have been going over to Cincy since the late 80’s and had never visited this place. Well that changed this past Saturday as I stopped along with my sister and Dad and had a great time. The shop was wonderful, the meats looked great and we brought some back with us to try. Really wished we had something like this in Indianapolis…

Eckerlin’s is great, for meat selection as well as customer service. I love coming here when it’s not too busy, and asking questions (what’s the difference between pork loin and pork tenderloin? Why is this cut of meat more expensive and how would you cook it?) They treat their customers well and are all really knowledgeable about their product. Most often I get bacon, whole chicken, pork chops… but have been known to bust out and try something new almost every time we come.

This butcher shop is a staple anytime I come to Findlay Market. In the past I have gotten whole beef tenderloins cleaned perfectly and marbled like you wouldn’t believe, plus they threw in a few pounds of ground chuck on the house for buying the tenderloin.
: I have also purchased pork belly here and it was perfect for me to start curing and making my own bacon.
: But the number one reason I go here is for the Goetta, it is better than Gliers, and they will slice it up for you or the traditional chunk. When family comes in town they always ask for the Goetta from here and I usually send some home with them also.
: If there is something that you don’t see in the display case, they will custom order it for you, they have when I asked for Pig Tails.

This is one of our staples every time we go to Findlay. The guys working are friendly, knowledgable, and are willing to cut up stuff however you want. The selection is great and if it isn’t in the display case, just ask. It might be in the back or they will whip some right up for you b

Great place for steaks and other cuts of beef, as well as pork, chicken, sausage and more. It’s a clean, friendly shop near parking at Findlay Market. We visited on a Sunday afternoon very near closing time and the shop owner threw in a complimentary loaf of french bread with our other purchases.

If you just had a nostalgia for the old western-​style «Beef: It’s What’s for Dinner» commercials, this is the place to come. Their storefront is emblazoned with decals boasting of Chairman’s Reserve beef, a premium standard of USDA Choice beef. And you can see it in the display cases; this red meat looks redder, heartier, juicier, and more like something that was wrangled into a corral by the horns and branded by a chaps-​wearing cowhand than the industrial reality of modern cattle ranches.
Regardless of origin, the meats here really are superior to most of the other stands around Findlay Market. The beef short ribs won my testing cycle (though I have to admit I did a better job braising the ones here than others), the hanger steak I got needed no sauce, and the buffalo meat is even manlier than steak. Haven’t had their goetta, but it has won awards for best in town, despite the general hype for Glier’s.
