This is where I get all my meat! Bacon, chicken, pork, beef. All of it. Right here. The workers are just great and will help give suggestions and cooking tips. They really know how to slice filet! This really is quality, local meat.

Mackie’s Meats is simply the best butcher shop in the Cincinnati area, hands down. Great customer service, great prices.

Mackie Quality Meats is one of my must-go vendors every time I’m in Findlay Market. They have filets for $ 9.49/lb. $ 9.49/lb! My husband and I always get two 6 oz filets to grill when we get home, and they taste just like the $ 17.99/lb filets you find at other butcher shops. They also have 95% lean ground beef for around $ 3.50/lb. Considering Laura’s Lean is about $ 6/lb at Kroger, this is a great deal. The employees are always very helpful and they get through the busy live very quickly.

Looking for some quality meats. It’s right there in the name. Mackie Quality Meats is located near the east end of the indoor area of Findlay Market and they serve up some good cuts. I’ve always had good luck with the meat I’ve purchased here. The people working behind the counter do a great job of getting to everyone quickly in the hussle and bussle of Findlay. You may find lower prices than Mackie at some of the other vendors. Bender is directly opposite the isle and their selection is also pretty good. The only complaint I’ve had about Mackie, and I’ve had the same about most of the other meat vendors, is that I can’t always get a cut of meat the size I’m looking for. Maybe I’m just going to late in the afternoon and the selection has been thinning out, but I occasionally need to take a smaller cut than I’m looking for. Good cuts and good service make Mackie my standard beef shop.

Mackie has some of the biggest bacon I’ve ever seen! Located at the end of the market house, near the outdoor produce stands, you can’t miss their huge stand, full of all of the best meats. And the bacon! Big, thick, long strips of bacon that cook up and taste great. My wife and I have had good luck with all the meat we’ve purchased there. It’s of a great quality. It is a little pricey compared to some of the other meat stands in the market, but it seems to be worth it. I think their frozen pizzas in the case look a little strange next to the great meat selection, but it’s understandable that they’re trying to draw in all kinds of customers.

This meat shoppe has some of the best looking meats in Findlay Market. They have a long case parallel to the main walkway through the market house. The main thing I noticed was that all the meats have a really good color. Each one was the exact color it was supposed to be, the beef was red, the pork pink, and the chicken pinkish white. The prices are really good too. I will be purchasing my ‘party’ wings here as they are only $ 1.99 a pound! The one thing that was weird to me was their sausages, brats, and mets. They are all short and fat and just look strange. You can’t see the ground bits through the casings, and you can’t see the flavor like you can at Kroeger and Son’s meats.

A great example of why Findlay Market is a great place to shop. Every time I’ve asked for something I didn’t see(e.g. soup bones), the guys at this stand have gone out of their ways to make a solution. They went in the back, found a big ol’ cow femur, hacked it up, put the chunks in a bag, and charged me some ungodly low amount of money. And yes, the stuff you can actually see in front of you is quite modestly priced, too. Plus, there’s always a special on, say, pork tenderloins(which are already the cheapest in the market) or ribeye steaks. I did have some ground beef here that went bad a little more quickly than I anticipated, but it would have been fine had I used it immediately. I was just too delighted to have my very own bag of bones.
