I was invited to lunch by a friend and checked these reviews, mostly negative, but all 2 – 4 years ago. What a surprise lunch was! Absolutely excellent service and the quality of the food matched, excellent. She suggested I try the Hot and Sour soup. The best I have had here and when I am in New York City. It is my favorite so many to compare. Very tasty, not too spicy, and full of delicious ingredients. I also had the Hong Kong Change chicken. Full of chicken, and vegetables all perfectly cooked and served hot(temperature) and just spicy enough. The servers were very friendly and accommodating with out being intrusive. Can’t wait to go back!

Awesome chinese food on the east side. My family and I(mom, dad, and 2 year old) eat out quite a bit and haven’t been able to find a good chinese place until tonight. the service was fast and attentive and our drink glasses never went empty. Our server offered suggestions and nailed our dishes. My wife had the general wongs chicken and it was a great mix of sweet and heat. our daughter enjoyed the chicken fried rice and the mongolian beef really hit the spot for me. Definitely recommend.

Outstanding meal at the Oriental Wok tonight. Had the cumin lamb special and in a word, it was fabulous. Guy came out and told us how he had prepared the dish and it is obvious it was a true labor of love. Will be back soon to try other dishes.

Food is really good here and I try to eat here as much as possible but only get 30 minute lunch breaks and its really hard for our office staff to get in and out that quick. We have tried takeout numerous times but its almost impossible to get through during lunch time, so we quit going here. Let us know if you ever get online ordering because it would be a god send, and you would earn our business back Atmosphere is really nice. I have met the owner and she is a sweetheart. She is very active in the restaurant and comes out to chat with tables frequently.

Great food but even BETTER service! Nicole ordered the Volcano chicken but decided she’d rather have tofu when the meal came. The manager was super accommodating & attentive. They had a second plate out in no time and were determined to show us a good time. I had the sesame chicken and enjoyed it. We’ve dined here before but they really gained our loyalty tonight!

At Oriental Wok, the sharp-looking and comfortable old-school Americanized-Chinese décor and atmosphere and pleasant, professional service cannot make up for Americanized Chinese food that is a bit bland and unremarkable for the rather steep prices. We’ve visited three times over several years, once for dinner(the most recent visit) and twice for lunch. Oddly enough, on one of the lunch occasions when the restaurant was just about empty, the kitchen seemed to step it up a couple of notches. A mushroom dish was subtle and delicious. Maybe it’s because the cook had the time to really focus(who knows?). The other times featured too much blandness and sweetness. This last time, we shared siu mai, lettuce wraps, Szechuan shrimp, mushu pork, and spicy green beans. The siu mai and lettuce wraps were okay and fresh-tasting, but packed little punch – the pork flavor was barely there, and more ginger and garlic sure would have helped. The Szechuan shrimp and spicy green beans both had sauces that had disappointingly muddy and rather unpleasantly sweet flavor profiles and seemed to be cooked down too much. Not very satisfying.(And despite the menu’s indication that these items would be hot and spicy, the heat levels were tepid.) The mushu pork was sort of like the appetizers – fresh-tasting but a bit on the bland side. A fourth diner had the Szechuan chicken, which was just like the shrimp. That food plus two draft beers and two Diet Cokes set us back over a hundred bucks. You ought to get dazzled a bit at such prices, but, except for that one mushroom dish at one of the lunches, no dazzle was there. This Oriental Wok location is in the ground floor of the Regency residential tower, whose condos are owned almost entirely by retirees. Retirees make up a good portion of the restaurant’s clientele, too, so that may explain the tamped-down flavors. One positive feature of the Regency location is the parking – it’s usually ample and easy to deal with.

Went here based off fairly good reviews. What a disappointment. Food no better than a strip mall Chinese walk in. Service was sub par. Don’t waste your time and money.

Less than mediocre take out experience especially for the price. Had ma la Sichuan shrimp, general wongs chicken, and shrimp fried rice all ordered extra spicy. The rice had not a single chili flake it was really poor not even a single scallion in it, totally pass on ordering. I asked if the General Wong’s was breaded and fried before ordering and was told it was not but upon opening the package it most definitely was. Again this dish wasn’t spicy even for the mildest spicy eater. Finally the ma la Sichuan shrimp which was supposed to have numbing Sichuan peppercorns had no bite at all. There was absolutely zero heat to the dish at all. Pretty disappointed all in all considered, I hate to say it but I have had much much better take out from PF Changs and that hurts me to endorse a chain. Especially when you consider the price of the food. This place is what it is but unless my hands were tied, I will not be coming back.

I’ve been mesmerized with this restaurant and I finally got the opportunity to visit. Let me first say the décor is magnificent it’s absolutely beautiful in there. I would definitely love to have a dinner party at the establishment. The service was good and so was the food. It was also nice to be able to experience lunch prices until 3pm. I wasn’t satisfied with my cocktail & our waiter immediately exchanged my cocktail for plum wine. It was a great experience I will go back someday.

The service was fast, friendly and accommodating. Complimentary drinks while you wait. The food was the best Chinese I have ever had. I shared a Volcano Chicken entrée & crab Rangoons with a friend and had food leftover for the next day! Best place in Cincinnati.

Housed in the Regency, this is a pretty big space complete with a bar and a private dining room. The menu is large and reasonably priced. We had leftovers for the next day and were stuffed. A decent choice for Chinese in the area.

I pretty much never give 5 stars. So 4 stars should say allot about this place. In one word I would describe this place as quality. The quality of food I was served here was excellent and it was def a step or two above your average fast food Panda Express level of food. Would highly recommend, very good

Our waitress was helpful and very friendly. The dining atmosphere was very beautiful, we enjoyed the décor. The food was well prepared and noticeably made with higher quality ingredients. Best plates to hit our table were the volcano chicken w/brown rice and the egg rolls. Four stars for the food the fifth was earned by the excellent atmosphere & waitress.

My date and I went here for Valentine’s Day after reading several glowing reviews about the place. When we arrive, we were ushered to our table. The room where we we sat, was completely full(okay, to be expected), very bright lights and quite loud. It was not at all romantic. Within 5 feet of our table were at least 10 kids. So much for the plan! Service was good though. We ordered two dishes, sesame chicken and recency steak. Both were overly sweet, and not at all indicative of any Chinese food I have ever had(Americanized or not). The steak was the worst dish I have had at a restaurant in the past year. Covered in a pool of what tasted like bbq sauce, there was nothing good about it. Maybe it was the limited menu for V-day or something else, but I don’t want to go back to a restaurant who has a chef that lets food leave the kitchen tasting the way ours did. But alas, this place is in the regency condo, so perhaps their main clientele prefers Chinese food from there childhood, when their mom used to make chop suey from a better homes recipe book, a la Mad Men’s Betty Draper.

This is the best Chinese restaurant you will ever eat at. Imagine you are at a PF Changs but the food is actually prepared fresh and taste twice as good. The Wong family has been running this place for almost 40 years, and the reason is because they do it right. Come on, try the Bali Maki and get any of their dishes. You will be impressed and if you want to eat it at home try their sauces from Kroger.

A family run, sit down Chinese restaurant that will make you rethink the idea that Chinese food comes in a box! The chef is talented, the seafood flown in fresh, the wine and spirits top shelf. They have a social bar area and a great private room for events.

Wow! What a gem! We have driven by for years, but friends recommended and it was FANTASTIC! So many things looked great, so my wife and I ordered three dishes to take the leftovers home. Oriental Wok is more expensive than crap-asian take out places because it is REALFOOD! Attentive wait staff, great bar, VERY reasonable craft, local beer prices, and Great Great food. I am a snob about Hot and Sour Soup, and it was a tie for the best I have ever had(with a place in Dupont Circle, Washington DC). My wife had scallops and loved her dish as well. Don’t make our mistake and drive by for years… Stop in and ENJOY!

One of the best quality Chinese places in town. This isn’t the grab-to-go kind of cheap-o Chinese places that proliferate the tri-state. Dishes here are prepared, not made, and there is a difference. Granted, I got the General’s Chicken, totally Americanized, but the veggies were good, and the chicken was prepared Very tender and the sauce was their proprietary recipe.(also available at groceries-called General Wong’s Spicy Stir-Fry Sauce… Some in my fridge right now!). Atmosphere is great, and the service is spectacular! Very professional and attentive, but not overly so. The two times I’ve been(and will increase that soon), I’ve chatted with the owner, and everyone is genuinely thankful for choosing their establishment in which to dine. My eyes were dilated from an eye exam, so I didn’t really investigate the menu in depth tonight, and I just ordered what I’d had in the past, but I’m going back to see what other tastebud treats they have. Some girls down the bar having drinks go a Pu Pu Platter complete with blue sterno volcano, that I could see. Looked like a good selection of apps. I hope my pics turned out.
