Stopped in for lunch today and there was absolutely nothing that stood out enough to make me want to return. I had a crab cake appetizer that consisted of 2 of the smallest crab cakes I’ve ever seen. I mean they were ridiculously small. I ordered the Mexican pizza and they brought out Mexican flatbread. They remade it and to be honest it just wasn’t good at all. The pizza crust reminded me of Boboli pizza crust. The salsa was nothing more than black beans and diced tomato pieces with no tomato sauce to it whatsoever. The tiny amount of sour cream was not even close to being enough to offer any flavor. By the time I was done eating to the time my waitress brought the check a good solid 10 minutes went past and by that time I just wanted to leave. I wish I could leave a better review. This was just a let down.

We enjoyed our dining experience immensely! Great wine selection at lunch, service impeccable and most importantly, the food exceptional! We ate everything before thinking about a pic though come and experience… you should enjoy!

I can’t think of any reason to consider trio in high regards. Mediocre service, mediocre food at non mediocre prices, I guess this place used to be something special and i understand that it’s locally owned but I’ve had much better food from a good truck for half the price I paid at trio. Maybe I should give it a 3 however I just felt so underwhelmed with the whole place that I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone else unless you have no other options!

«Brendan» was our server which was a complete disaster! He’s the worst server EVER!!! He got our entire order wrong and then blamed us for HIS mistake! The food was good(once we finally got it), but not good enough to make up for the poor service.

Excellent dinner and great service with Amy and Ashley. We will be back. The scallop and Brussel sprouts were awesome as was the Halibut. Tomato capreese was awesome and the bottle of Caymus goes without saying.

We love dining at Trio for dinner, but we have never had brunch there. Until Mother’s Day, when my husband treated me to the buffet for my special day. It was wonderful! The service was outstanding and I enjoyed everything. The made-to-order omelet station was great: they had three cheeses to choose from including smoked gouda. The chefs were pleasant and I enjoyed watching them flip the ingredients so professionally. Applewood smoked bacon, french toast, waffles, eggs benedict were some of the other breakfast offerings while beef tenderloin, Scottish salmon and roast turkey were the lunch/dinner options. All the food stations were checked for replenishment and cleanliness. I indulged in a Bloody Mary, which was well prepared: no watered down tomato juice here! I felt like a queen and would recommend the Trio Brunch to all moms next year. I look forward to making this a tradition!

We heard great things about the Trio Bistro restaurant in from friends and other locals. So when a Groupon came on we decided to take a chance and give it a try. The place has a very nice feel and Ambiance to it when you walk in. People are very friendly. Definitely it is more of an older crowd at the restaurant and later on gets a little more busy so make sure you get reservations. I was really hoping that this restaurant would be fantastic. After all the food is important when you go to a restaurant. However after trying about 4 different things on the menu from the appetizers and the dishes many of the plates we’re missing something. The food was somewhat Bland even though the presentation looked very nice. I tried the grouper being from Florida and although I didn’t expect it to be amazing like in the Florida area I still assume that it would be quite good for a restaurant of this stature and the price. However all I got was a tiny piece of fish that taste good Bland. Pretty much tasteless. We also tried the veal which also had the same kind of feel to it. I would say the best dish that we had was actually the macaroni and cheese which is sad to say about a place like this. Overall if the food quality was better I would say this restaurant would be a 3 or 4. The other thing that could make it 3 or 4 would be that if it was cheaper. However paying premium prices for the food that tasted more like vanilla was not worth it. There are plenty of other places that are way better, where you leave stuffed or if you pay premium prices you get superb quality. This is not a restaurant that I would recommend or return to mostly because when you go out to eat you’re looking for at least the food to be better than what you can make at home especially at those rates.

So the ambiance here is not my personal favorite. Basically, there is nothing youthful about it. It’s a little stuffy and dated. However, the food and drinks are above average! I was here a couple years ago for a dinner date and didn’t care for the close proximity of the tables. In a particular section, one side of each 2 person table shares a bench with the table next to them. It was an awkward experience. Food was good though! I returned recently on a Sunday to meet a few people for brunch. We were a party of 6 and sat in the back room by the fireplace. Much better experience! The freshly squeezed orange juice was divine! The brunch menu was short, but interesting. I ordered chicken and waffles. You have the option of spicy or regular chicken. I went with the spicy. Very very good! I like that they use smaller pieces of nugget fried chicken. It makes it much easier to eat with waffles. I would rate the food as a 4 and the restaurant as a 3. It’s just not my cup of tea. I’ll definitely consider it again for a group brunch outing.

Came in for lunch on a Saturday. Was kind of disappointed. The location is fun, and convenient if you’re shopping at the mall or otherwise in the Kenwood area. They have their own lot away from the mall, so parking is ample. The décor inside is nice, but not super unique. There are these weird cloth valences hanging from the ceiling; I could never figure out if they were decorative or noise-abating, but I thought them sort of odd. There was sort of a bright color scheme, which was weird because of the dim lighting. Our food wasn’t good. We got the spinach /artichoke dip, which we sent back. My wife thought it was weirdly thickened, like with breadcrumbs or flour(maybe like a poorly done bechamel?) and I thought it was gritty and had been sitting around for awhile. I got a sandwich, my wife got a beet salad, and the kids got pizza, all of which were just sort of meh. The fries were a high point, like what you’d expect at a Belgian place, but they don’t offer any fun aoli or neat mayos with them(they suggested I dip them in their tartar sauce). Service was friendly enough, but was really pretty slow. I was in a mood to leave(kids were misbehaving) and the food and check seemed to take forever to arrive. This place reminded me of a Cheesecake Factory, which I am not a fan of either, but if you are, than Trio might be a good place for you.

To be honest, I was pretty disappointed in this place. Let’s start with the positives: great atmosphere and wonderful service and plenty of parking. The mood is intimate and it’s a pretty popular place because it was almost completely full. Our waitress was very friendly and so was the hostess. However, the negatives basically surround the food. The food was so bland! For a very expensive restaurant, I thought that the food was incredibly ordinary. There were some interesting additions to my Scottish Salmon like the yogurt sauce, but other than that I feel like I could have made it myself. My boyfriend has the grouper with spaghetti squash and the latter was very good but again, nothing impressive that I feel like I would crave and want to come back. I just feel like for the price, the food wasn’t worth it. Not that anything tasted horrible, but when I pay $ 30 a plate, I expect something a little nicer.

Today I decided to try Trio for their Sunday Brunch menu. Can I just say … the highlight of my experience was the staff! I was greeted at the door by a gentleman who seemed as if he was the owner? He made it feel like a mom and pop shop and was so welcoming. Anyways, each staff member I encountered was so polite and had top notch manners. Now on to the food. My mimosa was ridiculously expensive coming out to almost the price of my meal. Just don’t do it, it’s not worth it. BUT on the bright side, the French toast was the best French toast I’ve ever had. I could eat that every morning forever. I’d recommend substituting syrup for honey though since it was already pretty sweet. I will be back(minus the cocktails) in the future. Way to go Trio!

I met a colleague for lunch at Trio about a week or so ago. I’ve had Trio on my list of places to try for some time now, but haven’t found the right time. The service was very attentive and they offered tastes of the wines I was interested in trying, which was great. The menu selection was upscale, as you would expect, and I selected a beet salad from the seasonal menu which was pleasantly light and tasty. Admittedly, my perception of the place was that I was not in the usual demographic, however after visiting, I’m looking forward to coming back. I’d highly recommend for a nice work lunch or catching up with an old friend!

Went to Trio’s again last night with a few friends for my birthday. It was wonderful as always. Everyone loved their food! I had the lemon chicken and my one friend had the fish special. The waitress was wonderful and it was just all around great food, ambiance and service! Keep up the good work!

Enjoyed another great meal at Trio. Their Brunch was delightful. As another diner commented, the food was«amazing». We enjoyed the Eggs Benedict, Yogurt Parfait, Waffles and Cowboy Omelet. Despite their regular menu prices being high, brunch was very reasonably priced. The service was outstanding. Our server was very attentive yet not overbearing. The drinks were always filled, and he offered good suggestions for brunch selections. My only criticism is that they should bring back the brunch buffet. It was suburb.

I’ve always thought this place was a bit more my parents’ speed — but decided to give it a whirl after buying a Groupon($ 40 for $ 25). We’d just come from a wine tasting so decided to order just one glass of white to go with my scallop/shrimp pasta; the server graciously brought me two to try: an ounce of chardonnay and a pinot. Most of the wines are $ 9 – 12 a glass, bit high for the area. Ultimately neither was impressive, so I stuck with a Gruner Veltliner at $ 10.45 a glass — refreshing, not too acidic, pretty good pairing with the pasta. My entrée($ 27.95 shrimp and scallops) was dressed in a white wine cream sauce that proved surprisingly light, the pasta cooked slightly al dente, just the way I like it. Only two scallops, which proved bit disappointing. I did manage to pawn off my broccoli on the husband. He was less than charmed. His entrée, chicken in red sauce and cheese, was ultimately too garlicky for him(although to be fair I liked it), so he sent it back and replaced it with the kobe beef sliders(which he thought had cheese sauce?! vs real cheese). So, it was a pretty good date night until —the manager got into a long-winded diatribe with the couple behind us. Awkward. It went on for a good 10 minutes as he defensively explained how they hardly make $ 12 a head these days and why they couldn’t take some discount or other. Sheesh. Way to air your dirty laundry in front of patrons. Not cool. Verdict: food pretty decent, ambience –umm, awkward.

This place is just fine. We split a $ 32 New York Strip steak(14oz) and got an extra side of mashed potatoes for $ 3 in order to keep our bill down and that was a very smart decision in the end because this place is expensive. The steak and mashed potatoes were good but nothing out of the ordinary or memorable. I’m not going to think twice about it after this review, but it wasn’t bad or anything. It was enough food for the two people. They have free bread and that was nice. The butter had some sort of greenery in it and I liked that quite a bit. We didn’t get to order another round of it before the meal came. We also got two glasses of happy hour wine good. I recommend this place for happy hour wine. The whole meal up to this point was fine but honestly not worth the money. However, we ordered a piece of lemon cream and banana cream pie and those were very good. They’re $ 7 a piece and were surprisingly large(I expected small pieces with some piece of inedible flower next to it since this is a fancier place that charges so much for food, but they didn’t). All in all, I wouldn’t recommend this place to someone not looking to spend $ 80 for a meal(for two). It’s not THAT good. It’s just fine.

If you’re looking for an intimate meal with some fine dining, Trio would be a good choice. They’ve got a nice array of entrees that are of American and Italian cuisine and also many drink specials. My boyfriend and I had the 3-cheese macaroni as an appetizer and the combination of the rich cheese sauce, fresh jalapeño, and crispy bread crumbs were a delicious combination and shell pasta held the sauce very well. I had the Veal Poccata which had a lemon caper sauce and a side of angel hair pasta and it was very good. My only complaint was that the veal was very oily. My boyfriend had the NY strip steak, which I think was better than my meal. The food was definitely good enough to come back and try another dish and I’d recommend coming here for a nice date night or a special occasion since the vibe is so intimate. The staff were also great and very friendly.

My girlfriend brought me for my birthday. It was fantastic! This was my first time here and I’d heard good things but had no idea what to expect. We were given a terrific circular booth table that was out of the way and everyone working there greeted me by wishing me a happy birthday. I really felt like the management and staff were in on celebrating my day with me. It was awesome! I had the sea bass and it was so fantastic that it’s difficult to explain. There are a lot of flavors in there that are perfectly balanced. Perfectly cooked with a light sear to the outside that gives way to a flaky, moist inside. The rice and vegetables are cooked perfectly and the sauce is a great accompaniment. In a bite you can taste every single element but none of them takes over. Texturally it is perfect as well. Light crisp to the outside of the fish, firm flesh, soft rice and veg that still has some tooth to it. One of the best dishes in Cincinnati. Had the crème brûlée for dessert and it was executed perfectly. A lovely yet light vanilla flavor, sweetness of the caramelized sugar crust on top, the slight sour from the custard and brightness of the fresh berries. It worked so well with my after dinner coffee that I wish I had it every time I drank a cup! The manager stopped by our table and thanked us for choosing to spend my birthday with them. I can guarantee that I will choose to spend more evenings here in the future!
