We recently went there with our adult kids. Known for their fresh sushi, I found it to be good. My husband who doesn’t eat sushi ordered a pork dish. He said it was good but there just wasn’t enough to fill him, I’m not sure it would have filled me either. It looked like an appetizer portion. I ordered the crispy shrimp and got 2 with tempura shrimp coming out of the top and 3 without the shrimp, disappointed. I felt they all should have had the tempura shrimp as that’s what I ordered. No rush to go back there.

Delicious fresh sushi in a colonial former home. They have a nice selection of signature rolls. The Cinnaminson roll is one of my faves. I wouldn’t order the calamari app again, there was nothing unique about this dish. Stick with the black pepper seared tuna.

Still a decent joint to get your sushi on, superior to the digs across 130, but stick to the raw fish rather than noodles. The broth falls a little flat and it’s just so much better if you don’t bother. The service is still good, the shumai tasty, the presentation lovely, and the sushi rolls are satisfying. Include the colorful décor, the fact that it’s byo, and there’s no great reason not to make a famous Jersey jughandle if you’re heading south on Route 130 to stop in for a bento box or special roll.

DONOT go here if you want a quick lunch! My friends and I tried to go here to eat lunch thinking 1 hour for sushi would be sufficient. We asked to order right away but they only had one person working. She took drink orders and says she would come back. A large party of 6 was seated after us and when our waitress finally came to bring our drinks, she also brought drinks for the large party. We were chomping at the bit to order, and after we ordered the waitress went directly to the large party and took their order without putting our order in. I started to have a bad feeling. Our salads came out right away, so I started to relax, but then 30 minutes passed with nothing! Besides us and the large party, there was only one other party eating at the restaurant, and they already had food when we got there. We asked what was happening with the food. The waitress assured us it was coming. Then the large party received their food, at which point 50 minutes had passed. We said at this point we needed our food to go. The waitress immediately brings us our bill BUTNOFOOD! We decide to go to the sushi bar to see the status and they hadn’t even started making our food! So we said forget it, paid for our salads, and left! I will not be back!

I’ve been coming here for years, and it’s my go-to place for sushi. The presentations are beautiful, the food is fresh and delicious, and the menu is huge! My personal favorite is the Godzilla roll, which is a spicy tuna roll with avocado and orange roe, which is all tempura-fried, topped with more spicy mayo, eel sauce and scallions. Mouthwatering, and exactly what I crave when I want sushi. Other specialty rolls I’ve tried are the Pikachu roll and the Hot Girls roll, all are delicious. Their standard rolls are also superb, with the freshest fish and generous portions(you won’t get a chintzy cut of salmon here) in the avocado salmon rolls, spicy tuna, and everything else I’ve tried. Their cooked foods are also great! I love their Teriyaki Tofu– it’s pan-fried and crispy with a light Teriyaki sauce. They have great lunch specials where you can get tempura, sushi, salad and Miso soup for something like $ 12? When you eat in, they give you warm towels to clean your hands before the meal. It’s BYOB, and the décor inside is really nice and welcoming. I really haven’t had a single bad experience at Tokyo Bleu over many years of going there, can’t rave about it enough!

Came here for takeout the other day. The place is a little hard to find because it looks like a large house on the outside. I ordered the triple spicy roll special, samurai roll and the green dragon roll. The triple spicy roll came with miso soup or salad. I wanted the soup got the salad instead. Out of all the rolls I ordered i liked the samurai roll the best. I will be returning here in the future

The food and menu at This place is amazing! It looks a bit rough on the outside but don’t judge the book by its cover. Once you go in, the staff and happy and friendly and glad to serve you. I love the miso soup, the dressing on the salad is fresh and tasty. I usually get the sushi regular and its plenty. I recently tried the spicy crabmeat salad and wow! It was awesome. The garlic white tune melts in your mouth. The prices are fair and reasonable and its BYOB. The speed of service is comfortable. They don’t rush you unless you are in a hurry then they can accommodate. This is now by «go to» sushi restaurant. I’ve yet to try desert because I’m always so full at the end of the main course.

Came here with Bestie as she needed a place to review for her magazine. Super cute small space. First ones there when they opened at 1130am, by the time we left around 1pm place was full! Lunch specials very reasonably priced and variety was refreshing, more then just teriyaki. We ordered three lunch specials because we really wanted sushi as well… Edamame app… great. I had grilled sea scallops with veggies in honey wasabi sauce. Comes with miso, salad, rice. All good. Bestie got salmon teriyaki and as our two rolls we got spicy tuna and California. My California was great, bestie did not like that tuna was«shredded mush». We spent $ 35 before tip! Totally recommend and will be going back!

High quality Japanese food. Thinly sliced sushi. I prefer a bit thicker cut personally, but this tastes more REAL than any other sushi I’ve tried in a 20 mile radius. Never tried eating in — I’ve always gotten take-out. My order’s always correct & ready when they say it will be. Cashier & Sushi staff are always extremely friendly. My only complaint is it’s a bit overpriced… But then again, you are getting some pretty high quality food from this place. Like this place a lot.

I’ve come here twice in two days not for convenience but because It actually is really good sushi. The prices are first off not that bad at all about on par with my sushi places for a roll and such. They also offer the cheaper rolls in case you don’t want a big fancy roll so there is something for everyone to eat here. Their sushi was fresh and tasty it didn’t taste like it had been sitting there which some places do and you can tell almost immediately but this place was not like that they served fresh sushi and it was damn good. They have miso soup as well which was on par with other places honestly miso soup tastes the same no matter where you go hah. For dessert they offer a large variety of things including a large variety of mochi you should try mochi if you havent before it is ice cream in sweet dough really good try green tea. Just a suggestion as far as rolls go I suggest getting the samurai roll if you like eel or if you like salmon try the alaska roll because it has smoked salmon giving it a really good flavor. This place was awesome I will be back very soon and you should check it out

This place was highly recommended to me by a friend. Tonight was my first experience. The price is right and the sushi is good. The Godzilla roll was absolutely great. Not the absolute best sushi I’ve ever had, but I’d definitely eat it regularly. This review only reflects the sushi, I didn’t order any main entrees. Also, my friend sitting next to me won’t let me submit this review without mentioning how good the banana ice cream dessert was. I ate some despite my lactose intolerance and he will pay for it on the way home.

My family and I were in the area and decided to grab lunch before our afternoon activities at the go kart place. Came onto Unilocal and saw that this place has really good reviews and decided to give it a try. I ordered chirashi from their menu since it’s my favorite dish and is how I usually judge how fresh the fish is at a restaurant. The presentation was mediocre and the fish wasn’t very fresh. I took my first bite into a piece of salmon and immediately spit it out. It tasted bad, really bad. It tasted like garbage that had been left out for weeks in the heat. I then tried to get the waitress’ attention but she was nowhere to be found. After 10 mins of waiting she finally showed up. I then told her my problem and they told me that they put sauces in their raw fish(my guess, to cover up how un-fresh it is). We also had a roll with avocado on top, very little eel in the middle and pear/apple in the middle, which was disgusting(I’m not very familiar with names of American rolls). Other than that, their chicken and pork katsu was not bad as it is very hard to mess those up. I can go on pointing out how unfresh the other fish were but I’m only here to warn sashimi lovers and I’m sure you get the point at this rate. The price is high for the quality of the food and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

Great sushi and wonderful service. The best sushi in the area. And their prices are quite reasonable for the quality. The wait staff is very attentive and friendly. Don’t let the outside appearance of the restaurant fool you, it looks a little homely, but the inside is comforting and inviting.

We had a sudden craving for sushi and took it to the mass’s with a Facebook pole of good sushi restaurants in the area. A few of our friends suggested this place. I have passed it several times and thought the outside was cute and wondered if the sushi was good… It’s very quaint and intimate inside. The wait staff was very attentive and friendly as well. The sushi was absolutely, hands down amazing! Very fresh and tastey. We had the Godzilla roll, New York roll and our old staple California rolls. Everything was delicious. Also, I had some clear broth with udon noodles and my gf had the salad with ginger dressing. We enjoyed both. Defiantly plan on visiting again!

I’ve been visiting Tokyo Bleu for years and when I went last weekend, I couldn’t believe that I had never reviewed it. Tokyo Bleu is tiny, but brightly decorated, and the service is friendly, too. A nice touch is when they bring out the hot towels at the beginning of the meal to clean one’s hands. Also, be sure to remember your drinks– Tokyo Bleu is BYOB. The sushi is consistently good and I especially love the Godzilla and Hot Girls rolls. However, I am not the biggest fan of sushi, so I often end up getting other orders; the tempura is good, but be careful because it’s hard to tell the difference between shrimp and squash sometimes. hahah. I love the seawood salad and the miso soup is decent, but my absolute FAVORITE dish is the udon noodles. I got the yamekabi(I definitely misspelled it) udon, which was basically a Japanese version of chicken noodle soup, plus crab. So yummy– the noodles were perfectly cooked and there were a ton of great veggies in it, too. Plus, it came in a massive bowl, so I had to take leftovers home for lunch.

We were making our way back home from AC and decided to take a detour for sushi so of course Unilocal to the rescue suggested Tokyo Blue. Upon arriving we were a bit scared, as it was a Friday night and we counted a total of seven cars in the parking lot. Feeling ballsy from gambler’s high, we chanced it before our better judgement kicked in. We put on our big girl panties(figuratively speaking, there was no change of intimate attire I can assure you) and went inside. The place was dead only two other couples, but we sat down and started praying for the best. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. We ordered a green dragon, hot girls, Philadelphia roll, sweet potato roll, and sweet heart roll. All were delicious although I would not eat sweet potato roll again as it seemed to have a bit too much rice and lacked dimension in flavor compared to other sweet potato rolls Ive eaten. One roll that stood out as specially delicious was the green dragon roll. awesome! We also had striped bass sashimi and tobiko(flying fish roe) sushi. it was solid! Very fresh! Ginger was white. yay not the fake pink kind. Wasabi tasted fresh. Upon receiving our check we were given a halfed orange with a pretty presentation. On a side note, the building is handicap accessible it has a side ramp no steps on the main porch dining area and bathroom is handicap friendly. Would we eat here again? Abso-freaking-lutely! Prices were reasonable and presentation was spot on! Don’t be turned off by the lack of patrons this place is a gem!
