I don’t live in Sacramento, but come here about every 3 – 4 months to visit family. EVERY time I come into town I have to come here at least once… So yummy!!! It always helps that the people working there are so dang nice.

I can’t say anything bad about this place, but who needs to? I’m in love with Extreme Hummus and I don’t care who knows it! First found this place while desperately searching Unilocal for a place to grab lunch with my Ma. I’m new to the area, I was very pregnant, had my one year old with us, and my mom can be picky. I love love love anything Greek, Halal, Mediterranean, etc, and my son’s favorite food is hummus(for real!) and with all those five star reviews, it was a no brainer. First of all, it’s not a fancy place, so don’t go looking for ambiance or to impress a date. Easy fix for that: order the food to go(they have a drive-thru!) invite a date over, eat, turn on Netflix, and chill. You’re welcome. Anyways, back to lunch… The three of us had a fantastic time, we were greeted immediately upon entering but weren’t rushed to order as we looked at all the options and asked questions. They were extremely accommodating for my mom’s order(can I change this, add this, and have this on the side? Sure!), and when everything just looked too good to make a decision(I WAS pregnant after all) they kindly helped me whittle down the choices. The place wasn’t busy at the time and that was great because I’m hyper aware of other diners when I have my tiny human in tow(he’s actually great, and its mostly just my anxiety that he won’t be that’s the problem). The lady that was there(owner perhaps?) fawned over my son, and they were all so sweet, even bringing him a small order of fries on the side free of charge and that just made his day. They had nice clean highchairs available that actually had the seat belts in them that worked. But enough about the place, THEFOODISAWESOME! I had a beef and lamb gyro that will knock yo socks off! Soft pillowy pita bread slathered with your choice of hummus, veggies, juicy and delicious meat lovingly topped with creamy tzatziki. My Ma had a salad with a kebob, and probably something else I can’t remember now. Falafel was crisp on the outside and tender on the deliciously seasoned center. Greek fries are deeee-lish! Haven’t tried a hummus I haven’t liked. All good. As alluded to previously, they have a drive-thru and boy is that a winner in my book. I call ahead, hubby hops in the car, drives through and picks it up. Dinner is done and I’m actually feeding my family fresh and delicious REAL food, not some McMeal or something microwaved from a box. TL;DR — Friendly people cooking up some majorly delectable food available for dine-in and take out, even drive-thru. Five stars.

I’ll keep this short and simple. Hubby heard about this place from some coworkers and we went there on a chance. Holy moly, this place is our new favorite when it comes to Mediterranean food. It is a small place, the employees are nice and the food is sooooo good. We love the hummus, we’ve had the wraps, we’ve had the fries and don’t forget about the falafels… getting hungry just thinking about it.

To those of you that haven’t ventured to «Extreme Hummus», you are missing out! I’m a sucker for Greek/Mediterranean food and this place has got to be one of the best I’ve ever eaten at. Located right off of Antelope Road and close to the I-80 freeway in Citrus Heights, «Extreme Hummus» is truly a hidden gem. However, it wasn’t the Unilocal reviews that tempted me to check this place out. It was actually my coworker whose brother is actually an employee at this place! What I find staggering is that«Extreme Hummus» opened its doors back in October 2014; and in that short amount of time, it has generated well over 500+ reviews(in which case almost ALL of them are 4 – 5 stars). And it definitely helps when you combine Unilocal reviews, word-of-mouth, social media, and locals that take pride in making this a go-to spot out in the suburbs of Citrus Heights. Not to mention, their food is damn good! Or should I say Extreme-ly damn good! Surprisingly, it wasn’t until 5÷21÷16 when I first stepped foot into«Extreme Hummus». It was a Saturday afternoon around 1:30pm and it was very busy. As far as the interior layout, it is rather small with only seating for about 7 parties. However, they do have a generous sized outdoor patio for those warm Sacramento days and evenings. Additionally, they have a large refrigerator showcasing many unique Lassi yogurt drinks, Mexican sodas, and the standard fountain sodas. They even sell take-home containers of their hummus sauces; some of their most popular are extreme(hot & spicy), artichoke pesto, and spicy roasted red pepper, just to name a few. And finally, if you’re one of those people who runs a busy life and is on-the-go, have no fear because they actually have a drive-thru so you can order your food without having to get out of the car! However, I decided to get the full experience and eat inside. When I walked up to the counter, I told Said(whose brother owns Extreme Hummus) that my coworker referred me here. He was overly thrilled and I mentioned that this place has been on my radar for a long time. I do have to say, the level of customer service here is absolutely top notch. Everyone just seemed to love doing their job and that goes a very long way especially for a thriving small business like this one! The menu itself had many different options. Everything from gyros, shawarma wraps, salads, and complete platters. And many popular sides such as falafels, Greek fries, and even a dish called a Dolmah(which is rice, olive oil and seasonings wrapped in a grape leaf); a must-have to those vegetarian. One key thing is that everything at Extreme Hummus is made from scratch using the freshest ingredients. As I narrowed down what I should order, I finally settled with their«Beef & Lamb Gyro»(for $ 7.99). This consisted of warm fresh pita bread and inside were generous portions of sliced lamb & beef, lettuce, tomato, onions, red cabbage, tzatziki sauce, and hummus. I decided on the standard hummus as I’ll probably get a little more creative on my next visit. Within 5 short minutes, my gyro arrives! I’ve got to say, this thing is HUGE! The one photo I took does not do much justice. However, the taste and flavor is in a class all in itself. I don’t know what type of seasonings they use but everything was made to perfection. The hummus dressing was the perfect amount while the produce had a wonderful crunch factor that leveled up nicely with the warm homemade pita bread. And the tenderness of the lamb & beef was far superior to other Greek/Mediterranean establishments that I’ve dined at. In other words, its a taste that truly makes Extreme Hummus a unique and amazing dining experience. To Said as well as the owner and his wife and all of the staff at Extreme Hummus, you are what a restaurant should be! And that is world class customer service serving wonderful homemade food at amazingly low prices. I have a feeling that I will end up being a regular here. Since I had relocated my living situation(and am now living in Citrus Heights), this place is just a short 5-minute drive from my house! So I guarantee, there will be lots more check-in’s and photos on the way! Extreme Hummus = Extreme Amazing!

I was immediately greeted by the owner, who struck up a lovely and welcoming conversation with me. The service was exceptional, the hummus was delicious and very fresh, and the chicken spuces/flavor was delicious! The dolmah are a MUSTTRY! I only wish they gave a full piece of pita with the chicken plate to soak up all its deliciousness! I will be back for sure!

I rarely find myself in Citrus Heights, but I decided to go just to check this place out. There’s a drive thru for convenience. I went inside though. I ordered the Greek fries with lamb. It was a large serving of fries with a lot of meat. Make sure you eat it soon, because I didn’t and the fries weren’t crispy anymore. The lamb was tender. I also had to order hummus. I had the cilantro jalapeño with pita bread and it was yum! I’ll have to try another flavor next time.

What a great find — only because I was too lazy to drive to get a salad from Pluto’s. I stayed w/close friends, basically my family in Antelope this past weekend and I was on a hunt for something healthy after I made the kids chow mein at home. Thanks, Unilocal! I ordered the combo plate(gyro and chicken) w/o the rice. I asked for extra lettuce. After I paid, I realized I wanted more so I ordered a chicken kebab, al la carte. I do eat a lot and I am not afraid to admit it. Started my no sugar journey last Wednesday(05÷11÷16) and intend to continue until completion. 30 days. It’s tough because quinoa is a rarity in restaurants and since the base is either rice or salad, I have been eating lots of greens. The salad here is fresh and tasty; the lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and cucumbers made an excellent base for my savory chicken and gyro meat. The spicy hummus was delicious and thick though it wasn’t spicy whatsoever. The chicken kebab was juicy as hell. I inhaled this in less than 10 minutes. FT date gone awry so I kind of ate alone… oh well. At least I got a nutritious and protein-packed dinner out of it. Super proud of myself for sticking to my guns because I so wanted rice w/my combo plate. Service was wonderful, BTW. I’d come back!

Let’s start with the location: so convenient and close to my home that I may need to set a limit on how often I can come. I’m irritated that I’ve been driving to OPA! When incredible(and way better) Greek food has been 20 minute closer all this time. Next– the hummus. Its all made from scratch by the owner’s sister. It’s smooth, flavorful and should be smothered on everything. They have a bunch of different flavors including a spicy one, a white bean one, and one made out of egg plant(baba ganush?). I got the chicken gyro and a side oder of falafel and if my stomach could stretch anymore, I would have devoured the entire thing. The chicken was moist and flavorful, the veggies were fresh and there was perfect balance of meat to veggie. Hummus, tzatziki, and some other sauce come on it. Its perfect. The falafel are incredible. They’re everything I’ve been looking for since I went to Greece 2008. If you’re not going here… you must hate Greek food.

I’ve been here several times now. The location is rather convenient for me, so I was hoping to fall in love with their food, but no such luck. This is basically highly over-rated Mediterranean fast food. The best item I’ve had here is the chicken shawarma gyro. They did such a good job marinating the meat that it’s kind of weird how they seemed to let most of the rest of their standards go. The pita bread was just embarrassing. The produce wasn’t that fresh and the hummus was okay, but kind of bland(certainly not extreme). Next time in, I tried the«Greek salad,» which is in quotes because it was actually a typical American salad. As in, it was ninety percent lettuce and ten percent everything else. A Greek salad shouldn’t have lettuce in it, and if it does, there should be very little. The tomatoes definitely should have been in the trash for at least 24 hours by the time they got to my salad; they were wrinkled and gross. There was literally less than two quartered slices of cucumber. The feta was okay, but again, not very much of it. The olives were nothing special but I was just happy that they gave me more than two. At least they nailed the quality of the dressing. It came in a one-ounce container, which was enough, surprisingly. Judging by the smell, I thought it might be too spicy for me, so I was like«challenge accepted» and poured it all on. Turns out that it was mild once it was dispersed throughout the whole salad, but I would still recommend a different dressing for anyone who is sensitive to spiciness. As if the salad proportions weren’t bad enough, the wrap somehow managed to be worse. They say that they make everything from scratch. If this is true, they need to get a way better handle on the timing of when they are making things, because, again, the bread sucked. It was a bit stale, and bland unless you count an overwhelming flour taste. It was a good ninety percent rice. I opened it up thinking that maybe all of the vegetables were on the bottom and I could re-wrap it– no. The tsaziki was also starting to spoil. The falafel that I’ve had has been quite a bit on the dry side. The Greek fries had less fries than a McDonald’s small fry(coming from someone who worked there for too many years), and they were okay, but really nothing special. Overall, the meat is excellent, but not to be trusted considering apparent multiple food-handling issues. If you are vegetarian, steer clear, because you are almost guaranteed to be disappointed in the produce. The sauces have all been bland to spoiled, and in my multiple visits, I have not once seen them covered properly. After writing this review(it’s been in my drafts for a while now), I watched their première on Good Day Sacramento. If I had never been here, that video would have been enough to make me rush out and try them. So I’m sure they have potential, but have just stopped caring enough to put in the effort. There also seemed to be a lot of drama and arguing going on in the kitchen, which probably isn’t improving the customer service or the quality of the food.

I got the vegetarian combo platter and my partner the hummus sampler and greek fries with a mango lassi. I would have liked a little more pita bread to eat with my hummus and falafels on my veggie plate and a little less rice. The mango lassi was pre-made in a bottle and«not very good» according to my dining companion. I thought that the food was yummy and were glad for the outside seating on the nice day as we had our dogs with us. I liked the food and will be back if I am ever in the area. This is a great option for dining and I believe that they even have a drive thru.

I’ve had my eye on this place for quite some time. It’s about a 20 minute drive for me, but it was worth it. I love hummus, so I had high expectations, especially since their name is ‘Extreme Hummus.’ I ordered the falafel combo plate($ 6.99): 5 falafel balls, rice, salad, your choice of hummus, and 2 pieces of pita bread. The cashier let me sample their hummus, and I chose their signature Extreme Hummus. They offer 9 different flavors of hummus, all of which are delicious! Their falafel is fried to order! They came out piping hot, along with everything else on my plate. I was extremely pleased with my meal. The customer service was equally as good. The cashier was very friendly and made it a point to check in with every customer. Definitely check this place out if you’re in the area! And if you’re in a hurry, don’t worry! They have a drive thru! :)

Extreme Hummus is so Extremely Hummylicious! The Restaurant may be little hard to find but its located off of Antelope Rd., off of freeway 80 behind the backside of Raley’s. It’s a small restaurant with about 6 tables. They have a pretty large menu which includes, beef and lamb gyros, chicken gyros, kabobs, wraps, burgers, salads, and desserts. There specialities are a variety of there homemade Hummus… you have a choice of sun dried tomato and pesto, spicy roasted pepper, artichoke and pesto, garlic roasted white bean, spinach, roasted eggplant, and tzatziki sauce to add to your order. I ordered the beef and lamb gyro with lettuce, tomato, red onion, and chose the Roasted Garlic hummus to complete my yummy gyro. It was so good I literally devoured it. Their meat had good flavor and wasn’t dry. All the goodies in it just completed the Flavors… and of course the pita was nice and toasted to a warm crisp. The staff was so personal and attentive. They also took the time to let you know about all the different homemade hummus they make. The staff checked on us several times to ask if everything is ok and if we needed or wanted anything else. The owner Farid is very personable. He came out with a warm friendly smile to introduce himself and ask how we enjoyed the food. Highly recommend… I will definitely be back to try more of delicious hummus flavors.

This was not my first experience going greek, but it was my first time eating greek food. The reviews on this place were incredible! The customer service and price points were spot on! The food was aesthetically pleasing to the eye. The food however taste wise was 4 stars to me. Maybe it was the hummus inside the wrap. I went with an experienced greek eater and she was not a fan of the hummus inside either. However many people in our group loved it! Will be trying again!

After having a bad experience the last time we had eaten at a Mediterranean restaurant, I was really hesitant to come here to Extreme Hummus located at 7820 Zenith Drive in Citrus Heights, California. My wife had a craving for(Falafel) Fried garbanzo beans with garlic herbs topped with a creamy sauce. After checking Unilocal Reviews, Extreme Hummus was the place to go for the best Mediterranean cuisine around town! After a long day running errands, Extreme Hummus just happened to be on our way home. We arrived there about 2:30pm in the afternoon. Conveniently located just a few blocks away from the Antelope Road exit off I-80 going North. The restaurant is located on the back side of the Raleys Supermarket Parking lot. Due to some type of construction in the parking lot at the time, we were able to find parking in the rear of the building. Not a problem. This gave us a chance to examine their drive through menu as we walked towards the front entrance. Outside they have a lovely outdoor patio with at least 4 – 5 tables with umbrellas. As we walked through the entrance, there were about 6 – 7 tables in the dinning area. The dining area was quite small with only about 6 tables, but with the added outdoor patio seating there seem to be adequate seating for everyone. The interior was not overly decorated but was very clean and well maintained. The atmosphere was very casual. They do not serve any alcohol, nor do they have WI-FI. They also have a self serve refreshment station. Walk in and order, seat yourself, eat, and go. Their employees were very friendly and and very knowledgeable about all the different variety of hummus that they offer. After looking over their extensive menu, which includes(Gyro, Wraps, Sandwiches, Salads and Desserts. I finally decided to try their(Chicken Gyro). Chicken with lettuce, tomato, red onions, red cabbage, tzatziki sauce, and your choice of hummus. They were kind enough to give us a sample of their different flavor hummus. I went with the Extreme Hummus which I enjoyed very much! My Chicken Gyro was bigger than expected, which is always a good thing. After taking that first bite of my Chicken Gyro, I could taste and see how Extreme Hummus has gotten such high ratings on Unilocal! All the ingredients in my gyro went so well together sending an explosion of flavors to my taste buds! I honestly have not eaten many gyros in my lifetime, with me saying that this was the best Chicken Gyro I have eaten!!. My wife ordered the(Beef & Lamb) Gyro.“Beef and Lamb with lettuce, tomato, red onions, tzatziki sauce and your choice of hummus. She also chose Extreme Hummus as one of her favorite tasting hummus. Her Gyro also looked and tasted amazing! We also picked up a side order of «Falafel» which is fried garbanzo beans with garlic herb and topped with a creamy white sauce. The«Falafel» we’re fried to perfection! Crispy on the outside, moist in the inside. Full of flavor and not even oily! This is a perfect place for family and friends to enjoy true Mediterranean Cuisine at its finest! Prices were quite reasonable and they also do catering for special events. We will definitely be back to try more of their outstanding dishes!

What an awesome place this is! Of course Unilocal brought us here. You’re probably wondering why in the world would you two come all the way out here since we live in Elk Grove. I know my husband and I are a little crazy sometimes okay all the time but we like to venture out of our area a lot of times especially when we are out running errands. I needed to buy some new shoes so I had to hit DSW anyway. When we found this place of business which was conveniently located right off the freeway exiting Antelope road I thought okay more than likely will be back because of this! We eventually found it with my trusty iPhone GPS. Thank you God! My husband will do anything to get us lost! LOL! It’s actually a Greek restaurant with a convenient drive thru. That’s so cool as I have a family member who would love that! But because it was our first time here we had to go in and check everything out. What’s also nice is they have outdoor seating though no one was outside at the time. People are kind of funny about having to sit outside especially with dealing with the weather or with flies as company! Since it was our first time the guy making our gyro was very friendly and patient with us. He let me try some of their different hummuses and it was down to the two either the sundried pesto or the extreme hummus which I liked both but went ahead with the extreme hummus. Also I wanted to order their falafel which tasted amazing as it was freshly prepared for us. I had ordered the beef and lamb gyro and it was the bomb! I have never had anything that tasted more delicious than that and I’m sad that it’s gone. I told my husband we’re driving back out there today and he gave me a dirty psycho look like are you out of your mind? I guess we better wait!!! So those of you of who live out this way can you deliver??? Just joking. We did see a company van that advertised that they cater. Hmmm do I want this kind of food at our next event??? Might not be a bad idea??? Oh BTW you know I will be back Very Soon!!!
