I live nearby and have been here a few times. It’s not my favorite Mexican place in the area, but they do a decent job. We are spoiled here in CA when it comes to Mexican cuisine, so Fresh Mex is just another place to get a burrito. Drop this building somewhere in Missouri and there would be a line out the door.

This is really for the Folsom restaurant. Good express Mexican/American food. Tacos are delicious, Burritos big enough to feed an elephant and fresh chips. Price is good too and a nice outside patio area. Friendly help that seem to remember you.

I’ve been here a few times and really wanted to love it, since it’s close to my house and a drive thru. I haven’t gone inside so I can’t say how the service and food was there, but each time I’ve been, something has been wrong with my order. I will say that the tacos are huge and only around $ 2 – they’re pretty tasty and full of meat and salsa. Since I prefer tacos without all the fixings(cheese, lettuce) I was excited because it appeared that’s how they made them(easy ordering, no confusion!), according to their menu. I was confused when I was asked if I wanted everything on them, cheese, etc. After repeating myself 3 times, the girl understood that I didn’t want huero tacos. Can a girl just get meat, salsa and cilantro?! A couple visits later, my husband got a burrito and they charged us for the extras he wanted but didn’t put them in the burrito. The burrito was ok, but considering the local competition, it was small and not as good as it should have been. I think I’ve given them a fair shot at keeping my business, but unfortunately the food is mediocre and the service is definitely not good enough to keep me coming back.

I love Mexican food, especially as fresh and tasty as FreshMex. My boyfriend and I hit up this place often and haven’t been disappointed yet. Food is always fresh and very tasty:). Staff are friendly and service is speedy. would definitely recommend this place.

Food is very worth the longer drive through wait, its sit down restaurant quality in very large serving sizes. The super burritos make a great dinner/breakfast meal! The Nachos are off the hook, you better be hungry if you are going to try and eat all of them at once

Fresh Mex has become a regular haunt for me and a buddy… We hit taco joints all over town, and this one is our favorite place for the best street taco around! I prefer mine with carne asada, black beans, cheese, cilantro, onions, pico, jalapenos, habanero, and salsa de chilli rojo! What a huge taco, and yummy for $ 2.15! The burritos are SUPER as others have said… Great food… Great service. I like my taco’s with a CARTABLANCA! ENJOY!!!

I’ve been to this place 20 or 30 times since they opened a few years ago and it seems like the meat is hit or miss now, so here is my new rundown. Super burrito — 4 stars Fish taco — 3.8 stars when they remember to put the pico salsa on it. Torta — 3.8 Street tacos — 3.6 stars Taco salad — 3.5 stars Tostada — 3.5 stars Enchilada — 3 stars Chili relleno — 3 stars Blended salsas — 3 stars Pico de gallo — 4.5 stars Rice and beans — below average So I will continue to come here when to lazy to go to my other two favorites, and to those who have never been here before, it’s like a chipolte with a bigger menu, and it’s definitely worth a try.

We’ve enjoyed coming here for quite a while now. My girls love the enchilada sauce here, and I’m a huge fan of there habanero salsa and guacamole. Try the fajita burrito bowl with steak and black beans. Also, go in late afternoon for the telenovelas on the TV in the corner.

I am a huge Mexican food fan. I have tried many Mexican restaurants and taquerias in the area. I finally decided to give Fresh Mex Express a try. My boyfriend and I both had torta’s; one chicken, the other carnitas. I would have liked my meat and beans a little fresher. However, the guacamole was amazing and the chips’n’salsa was very good. I would definitely go back and try something else from their menu. I am pretty picky when it comes to my mexican fod and this place passed my test. Thanks for the fast, friendly service and good tasting food.

Friendly service. Quick prep. I’ve been here half a dozen times, hoping what I order will taste better than what I had before. I haven’t found that to be the case though. The food just doesn’t have the best flavor and the prices are so so.

We just moved to the area and came here for lunch. It’s your typical burrito shop, everything’s made in front of you and fresh. They have a salsa bar where you can load up on chips and salsa. The food we got was flavorful and the people were very nice,. Then why the one star rating, you ask? Well, we didn’t order hair in our burritos, but that’s what we got. GROSS! Just the memory of it turns my stomach. I understand that mistakes happen, but IMHO, when you work in food service, there is NOROOM for this type of mistake.

Our newest favorite Mexican food place. Ordering is at the counter and there is limited seating in the dining area. There is always a TV on, usually futbol. They have Mexican crema. There is a choice between whole black beans and refried beans. You MUST get their guacamole on your food — it is excellent. The food is prepared right in front of you as you wait, and the preparer typcially asks before adding each item, so it is extremely easy to get special requests done right. There is a chip/salsa bar. The chips are usually fresh and tasty. There are several types of salsa and pickled jalepenos/vegetables.

I ordered a veggie burrito of course. I would rate it pretty average, the size was huge, there wasnt any cheese, and it was a little watery from all the beans. the salsa bar is nice with great kinds. this place is a good quick stop on a road trip back from tahoe

I was pleasantly surprised by how good the food and service was at Fresh Mex Express. It’s also great that the restaurant has a drive-through. The car in front of us in the drive-through ordered $ 27 in food, but they received their order pretty quickly. Our food was prepared quickly as well. It tasted very good and freshly prepared. I ate the fajita bowl. The chicken breast was tasty and seemed to be very high quality, as did the sour cream, guacamole, and other ingredients. Additionally, the prices are quite low. I would love to return soon and try the lunch specials.

On days that I am running late for work and don’t have the time to pack a proper lunch, FME is always there have me covered. While the food is a far cry from the authentic Mexican grub I’m used to in Riverside, they do serve the staples that have gotten popular in the US. From quesadillas to taco salads this place hits the spot when you don’t feel like settling for your typical Mexican-chain restaurant. My favorite by far is the Chile Verde burrito. Amongst all the other items on the menu this burrito which resembles a newborn infant wrapped in a tortilla(kind’ve dark, I know) is sure to leave even the hungriest man in a food coma. Imagine mounds of chile verde spilling out of a warm tortilla stuffed with rice, beans, cheese, salsa, and lettuce. I usually make it a point to avoid any and all fast food joints, but this little gem will always be one of my guilty pleasures.

I love this place. It’s close to home and some of the best carnitas I have ever had. The owners are there often and are extremely friendly

Antelope and Zenith. Toward the back behind 7 – 11 and Giant Pizza. It’s kind of smaller than I thought it would be inside. A small room of tables, a chips and salsa bar, fountain drinks. You can see your burritos, tacos, etc. be assembled at the counter with fresh ingredients and you can tell them what you want on it. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There’s also a drive thru. making a great alternative to Taco Bell(which is in the plaza across the street). And, they also have outdoor seating. It’s pretty decent food. Personally, I would skip their enchiladas and ceviche. So far those are things I’ve tried that I didn’t care for. The burritos are massive. Tacos are filled so much that you can hardly bring the two sides together. The meats. hit or miss– sometimes seasoned well and tender and sometimes too dry. but the produce always tastes fresh. There’s Super Saver cards floating around town and if you’re fortunate to find one. Fresh Mex is 15% off!
