This restaurant is closed! Apparently they have finally given up!
Letter on the door thanked all for their patronage and explained they were done!

We didn’t eat because as soon as we walked in we could tell it was a bad decision. On our way to the table our waitress stopped to talk to another table who was complaining there was a hair in their food. So we awkwardly stand there while she questions these customers about the hair. Asking where is it… oh its blonde?! No blondes in kitchen! She then sits our menus on a table and walks to the kitchen… we then choose to get the hell out if there… we came down to ericas café and are having a much more pleasant experience.

Sorry so sorry. Visit their bathroom before you order and you’ll just walk out.

The food and the service there was mediocre at best!
Service was slow for only having 2 or 3 booths taken, and the eggs benedict was over cooked and after waiting an extended amount of time we didn’t have time to send it back!

What a bad experience. As soon as I walked in, I knew it was going to be bad. The table was sticky, the floors were dirty, and the place was almost empty.
The pecan waffle wasn’t too bad. The pecans tasted old, and had the flavor of whatever plastic container they had been sitting in.
The potatoes were cold, undercooked, and greasy.
As the meal continued, they got even more terrible as the grease really started to run across the plate. They also had zero salt or pepper.
When I mentioned the lack of seasoning to the cashier, she admitted they do not use salt or pepper because of customer preference.
Yuck.
Avoid this place.

After waiting to be acknowledged by the three people on the floor tending to tables (an approximately 4 min wait), we were told that it would take them 5 – 10 mins to be seated. These fellas need a better system and maybe a course in restaurant managing. We will not be coming back!

Prices were really good and the food was ok. Everything came out after a long wait cold or warm at best. We waited so long I’m sure the food was sitting at least 10 minutes to get so cold but we were all super hungry so pounded the food. Bacon was really good but for being a waffle house. …i was shocked that the waffles were crap. Bland and soft. No crunch or browned at all. TERRIBLE. Value for price was good but they need to work on the service and the place looks run down and hasn’t been updated since the 70’s!

The food was flavorless, the cook was super slow, but the waitress was nice!

Found a hair in my omelette. I nearly had to vomit. Even though I didn’t pay for my meal, they had the audacity to charge me for my wife’s meal. I shouldn’t have had to pay for anything! The portion of the grub I did unfortunately eat had no flavor. And the bathroom was felt like a disgusting gas station bathroom.

Well, I tend to only halfway listen to Unilocal reviewers a lot but I really should have listened this time. I live on Greenback lane about .5 of a mile from here and walk this route regularly with my son. I decided to stop in for breakfast one day even though I had seen the crummy reviews. There was only one server on and only one other family in the restaurant. I sat down and the server was immediately over and giving me my menu and silverware (Yes, I had to seat myself because he was ignoring my presence). I hadn’t even opened the menu before he started to ask if I knew what I wanted. I told him all I want right now is a glass of water and to look at the menu. He came back with water in a dirty glass and when I pointed it out he got frustrated with me and walked away (without taking the dirty cup) and returned with an empty glass to show me they all looked like that. I ordered a waffle and eggs with bacon. The bacon was the only decent thing on my plate. The eggs were undercooked and I refused to finish them. The waffle was not very good and seemed to be too doughy. And the server seemed to hover around my table. It was not fun and fairly expensive for bad food.

Worst breakfast place in miles! We are being punished for not looking at Unilocal before. This is the only thing my wife and I have eaten all day and we are both sick. My potatoes were under cooked waffle was gross and the nasty fake butter piled on top tasted like plastic. I sincerely hope this place makes a major change. Change everything about this place or change owners.

Worst breakfast and service ever. I ordered the all meat omelet and asked for extra crispy hash browns. And it also comes with toast. Not only did I wait a long time for the food but had to wait a long time just to get a refill on coffee. When the food finally came the omelet was raw in the middle. Yolk was coming out. Not only that but the hash browns weren’t fully cooked and toast wasn’t toast at all is was like bread with butter. Was like they didn’t even throw it in the toaster. Never going back.

Reality: negative stars. I don’t usually Unilocal at all, but the world needs to be saved from the scum of restaurants such as this. First time I came a few months ago with my mom and before we ordered she went to us te restroom, came out and said we needed to leave because of the state of the bathroom alone. I hundred her and we went elsewhere.
Well this morning, came here with my husband and we sat, ordered, I went to go use the restroom… And I’m not kidding, I immediate lost my appetite. Which doesn’t ever happen. Without going into detail, it was just beyond unacceptable. Something I don’t blame them for procrastinating on, but… I just cannot lol. Insane. I let our server know in a totally helpful and not rude way at all, and he said he’d have someone go clean it, when no one ever went in those bathrooms to clean them the whole time we were there. And they were not busy at all.
Then we get our food, where my husbands French toast had basil or parsley that were also on his breakfast potatoes. So they don’t clean the grill or use a different one for different menu items.
Then to get our check took a long enough time, being a server myself — one server on in the morning at a breakfast place says enough, but having to wait for our check that long with as slow and as many times as he walked by our table was silly.
Like I said — I never complain on social media, but I needed to warn as many people as possible.
If you’re going to try it anyway, God be with you.

No, just… no. This corner of Citrus Heights, with this place along with Linda’s pizzeria, is a good food desert, and should just be bypassed.
I could almost forgive the inconsistent service, but it did ruin our meal. If we get meal combos that are breakfast, they should all be served together, with everyone’s meal. Case in point… I got the omelet and a half waffle, my sister got an omelet and potatoes. It was weird to get my waffle with no omelet, her to get an omelet with no potatoes, and have to wait almost 5+ minutes for the rest of our food.
Now then, the taste…
My bro-​in-​law ordered chicken strips as an appetizer. Gosh, can you say barely microwaved correctly much? «This appetizer brought to you by Tyson chicken fingers.»
The omelets were not cooked properly as the cheese was not good quality… as evidenced by the liquid pus of fat dripping out of our omelets causing them to get wet real quick. Tim’s bacon waffle had a randomly placed flaccid looking strip of bacon on top of a waffle. My plain waffle was decent, not spectacular.
Sorry Waffle Square, but there will not be a return visit. I would have been just as happy with an Egg McMuffin and a microwaved Eggo.

Would give zero stars if I could! This place was awful! Just walked out without eating because we sat for 45 minutes after ordering waiting for our food to watch people who arrived after us being served first, enjoying their meals while my party sat hungry! Should have known things would be bad when we walked in and weren’t greeted and after I got the attention of a worker we were seated but had to wait a long time to even get silverware. I will never go back here again and wouldn’t suggest others dine here.

We don’t know what has happened to this place but we will not return. I asked if my veggie omelet is cooked with the meat and was assured it’s cooked in a separate pan. So here’s the run down– my veggie omelet was greasy, the fruit was bland (not ripened) and I don’t even know what kind of biscuit that was. I had to keep getting up asking for Randy’s coffee refill and the last time I went up there he spilled hot coffee on my hand. No apology. I couldn’t finish any part of my meal.

Not good. The staff was nice enough, but that doesn’t make up for the awful food. There is no passion for food coming out of the kitchen. And what you do get is way overpriced! Generic tasteless food.

Terrible!!! That pretty much sums it up. Coffee was terrible. My French toast wasn’t cooked, terrible. The bacon was greasy and cold, terrible. The service was terrible. We will never go back!

Waffle strawberry topping: sour, meaning they were past their prime by at least a week.
Coffee: on the weak side. Waitress offered a refill, which was nice. (A bit pricey at $ 2 for 12 oz.)
Service: very quick, pleasant waitress.
Food was 2/​5, waitress ⁴⁄₅ so average of ³⁄₅.
