This place has an old saloon feel with regulars who have been coming for years. The boots of patrons who have passed hang from the ceiling, and the place has a rustic /old and worn feel. This is what I love about the place. A great place to have a reasonable variety of beers at a reasonable price. Now, some of the bartenders are a bit gruff, and don’t ask John for a bloody Mary, or he will question your orientation and parental lineage. However, he is a clever guy with a quick wit. All of the bartenders are awesome if you are a. person with a great attitude. BTW… this is a clamper bar, so bring your drill team!

Grumpy Robles rocks!!! He loves to tell you NO or I don’t have that. Usually he does have it but won’t let you know until after your 1st drink. Great place to people watch. 21year olds all the wait up to 91 year olds! Party on!

I have a very simple review for this place– if you’re not a «I have a lifted truck or a Harley and exclusively wear Nor Cal tshirts so I’m obviously way tougher than you» type guy. Go somewhere else. If you’re not a «I pee in public more than in a bathroom and I love sloppy make out sessions with biker dudes twice my age» type gal. Go somewhere else. If you are, in fact, either– Welcome child, this is your Mecca. Your Jäger bombs and bud light will never taste sweeter.

Not a bad bar, although gets more than a little crowded on a Saturday night. Drinks aren’t too badly priced but we were a little surprised that we couldn’t get a pitcher, especially as there was eight of us. Would have made the night a little better! We were amused by the hanging boots, however.

Not very friendly with out of towners. The bartender that is. Otherwise great pours, prices and friendly locals:)

Got asked what I wanted twice and ordered a beer. Neither time the bartender tempered to bring me a drink. Granted it was crowded but common

Cool little dive bar, but the bartender on Friday and Saturday nights is super grumpy unless you’re a regular. He’s super slow, definitely needs some help back there.

Stop in here for a beer, or some other cocktail, play some pool, and maybe on some nights you can dance on the big dance floor. They also have a jukebox.(the new ones that have every song known to man) This place is in the Bay Area, though it feels like a small country western saloon in middle America. You’ll find locals chatting, and drinking, and negotiating when they’re going to finally pay up on their tab with the bartender. They have boots hanging from the ceiling, and the bartender brings her dog along, and he hangs out with the customers. It’s good to have some cash, or use their ATM. Some bartenders take cards, while others ask for cash. Go from sophisticated SF city chic to «I’ve got friends in low places» when you walk though those saloon doors, partner.

Not a whole lot here, but great place for locals to just come and hang out. We started our night here. We weren’t here for long, but we did enjoy it. Bet they would get much busier here on the weekends we will have to come back and check it out again.

Fun place, GREAT bartenders, even better music(Barefoot Country). A nice patio area out back to enjoy, a good place for people watching and hanging out with friends.

I’ve seen some weird things in my life, but last night pretty much tops it. They have a sign that states there is a $ 40 credit card minimum(which, by LAW, businesses are only allowed to have a $ 10 minimum fee, nothing higher.) Not to mention $ 40 is pretty steep, so if you’re looking for a nice little night cap, keep searching. The music was terrible, I mean the lady had an alright voice but the covers she was trying to sing just weren’t the right songs for her style. To add to this awesome night, I’m sitting outside with my guy and father-in-law, the next thing I know there is some lady walking around completely topless… Yeah, never coming back to this place again. This place should be shut down and take their classless customers with them!

This has quickly become me and my friends new favorite drinking hole. Love the small town vibe, nice crowd, good live music and strong drinks :) Wish they’d take credit card at the bar but it’s probably for the better they don’t so I don’t drink so much! Prefer the country bands on the weekend as opposed to the rock bands that bring much bigger and rowdier crowds.

Unfortunately it’s a pretty racist and close-minded scene at CC. It can be fun on certain nights, but the tide tends to turn awfully fast. If you are planning on wearing your Black t shirt and black jeans you should be all set.

Not what I would have expected in a Clayton bar — I guess I don’t know Clayton like I thought I did. That said, it’s still a really cool place. Great drinks and beer. I love when a bar has good bourbon. Good live music the night we were there. I don’t get why dogs were running around inside, but whatever. I like dogs. Especially dogs that drink.

I thought this bar was awesome. Beer was cheap, crowd was mixed, and it just has this divey feel to it. When I was there, there was a live band up front and some old people dancing, so that was fun… to watch ;) There’s an outdoor patio which is nice. It got stuffy in the bar area so it was great to be able to go outside and drink al fresco. If I didn’t have a crapload of bars closer to my house, I might come here more often.

This place is kind of a marriage between a dive bar, a real honkey-tonk and just a magnate for whatever floosies, deebags and weirdos happen by. The thing is, this place is the only game in town as far as bars go. There is a bar-grill up the way a bit in the town square(yep, there’s a town square here) but the Clayton Club has that certain gritty and eclectic crowd that makes it irresistible for locals and their fan base. I like the outdoor seating area. When the place is hopping there just isn’t a better place for people watching. It’s a great escape from the city, and I will continue to frequent this place as long as the drinks are cheap. PS– Karaōke night is kind of a bust. I love Karaōke, but the guy that runs it here has way too much of the same music and isn’t that friendly.

Like someone else said, this place is not particularly charming, but it’s def«somethin’ else»… I like all the boots hanging from the ceiling and feel like the history of the place gives it authenticity. Like, back in the day maybe there were horses tied up outside and you’d walk in through swinging saloon doors, and maybe see a gun duel out front. Or maybe even today… lol, ya right in Clayton? But seriously, I don’t tend to favor places were the bartenders are more inebriated than the patrons… seriously.
