Alright there are two very good reasons to come here. 1. The ribs are the best ribs I’ve ever had in my life and they melt off the bone. I’m not even a rib guy, but delectable…2. If you’re a wing guy, and I’m one of the biggest and IF you LOVE spicy challenges – go for their hottest wings. But when you order them, tell them you really want their hottest wings or they’ll give you a softball version. Also, if you do get their hottest wings, the Bathrooms are decently clean. Try not to have plans the next day either… anyway…those are your top 2 reasons for Chips. Pub has a good feel to it, errs on the side of darker and quiet which I prefer and they serve popcorn as opposed to bread, so there is that.

Amazing, we were recommend to come here by some locals so we made the trip. It was awasome they have old relics and decorated as a classic theme Food: we loved it everything came out delicious. My recommendation is boneless chicken spicy with side of blue cheese dip. And Greek salad.

Celiac people beware! If you are looking for gluten free food Chips Pub is very limited. They will serve a burger on a gluten free bun but that’s about it. The staff, although nice, is not very knowledgable about the ins and outs of gluten free needs. They will tell you the nachos are gluten free BUT not every server realizes that the chips are prepared in the same fryer as everything else. The potato skins are also put in the communal fryer too.

It’s always«just ok». Typical pub food but nothing outstanding. Seems not super clean. Frozen food. Bar area and outside seating are the best bet. Cobb salad is an up charge to add chicken which was odd. Seafood is not good — many better places for that. They added cheese to my salad(I told them I had an allergy) and then tried to scrape it off and there were remnants everywhere. The waitress didn’t even apologize. It’s convenient but best bet is just for a drink. Food continues to underwhelm. Too bad as its in a great spot.

I used to come here as a child. Food was great, service was fast and friendly and PRICESWEREJUSTRIGHT. It’s a nice casual spot to hang with friends. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I was charged $ 15 for a buffalo shrimp wrap(I would always order it even though it’s not on the menu and it would be roughly around $ 10). THEN $ 1.50 for a side of blue cheese dressing and .75 cents for a side of buffalo sauce. If I’m going to be paying that much for average food, I’ll take my business elsewhere and get an even better meal for that price. Some nights the service is fast, sometimes it’s slow… Like waiting 10 minutes to order type of slow. I guess it just depends on whose waiting because usually its the same amount of customers there. I would give it a ¾ star but the prices spiked way too much to even consider it being worth it seeing it’s a casual average place

The atmosphere is really relaxed and family friendly. All waiters were super nice– I asked our waiter about the French onion soup and he highly suggested it– it was amazing! One of the best I’ve had. I also had the wedge salad which was the usual iceberg/bacon/blue cheese combo– it was a good size. Pricing is very reasonable. We will definitely come back when we are in the area!

A go to for good food. The whole menu has just about everything for everyone. With an expansion of microbrewery beers the game has been stepped up at chips. It’s been a standard my whole 25 years and probably will be another 25

There are not a lot of restaurants to choose from in Clinton, so this may be the reason Chips can survive. Great place to have a drink. The food is mediocre, the carpet needs to go and the place feels dingy, needs a good makeover.

This review is based on a take out order only– have not dined in the restaurant. My husband and I ordered wings and salads to go. The wings were soggy, fatty, with skin not entirely done– I couldn’t eat more than 2. He got hot wings and I got mild and they were both like that. Neither of us finished our salads as they weren’t that good. We’re not picky eaters and generally finish everything so this was a bust for us. We were also surprised to pay $ 50 for mediocre bar food. We won’t be ordering from this restaurant again.

Well, we were here for 12 minutes before we ordered drinks, and another 12 before we received them. In an hour and a half span I was able to drink 2 drinks, due to the lack of service. I ordered a medium rare 16 oz ribeye. It was maybe ¼″ thick and a far cry from 16 oz, 90 percent was well done, and the end of one side was raw. Poor cut of meat as I could barely cut through it. Very disappointing experience for an «award winning» restaurant. Would love to meet those who voted. Left still hungry…

_I was quite disappointed when I went here back in November of 2014. I don’t go out to eat alot and we were going out for my birthday and my mother’s. We were staying pretty local. I feeling under the weather and really wasn’t asked where I wanted to go or whatever. But when our family comes up to visit they all have to go to chips pub and I know that my parents have been there before as well as my sister and her husband and the kids. so we went and it was very dark inside an extremely loud. I had ordered a chicken wrap that had a chicken cutlet in it I had ask them to put a different flavor cheese in it then what was in it. it took forever to get the food and we didn’t even have and that’s silverware start with. When I bit into my chicken wrap the chicken cutlet was so burnt overdone. hit me it was like maybe it was pre cooked and then put back in a fryer to reheat it & re– crisp it but they left it in too long. After two bites it didn’t taste like it was cheese on there so I opened it up I really couldn’t say cuz it was dark and my sister said that looks like there’s cheese if there was it was very my new and it was not able to be taste due to the overpowering of the well done burnt chicken cutlet. Then I saw there was bacon on there which I had asked the waitress to not put on there. So now I’m trying to pull that off this pathetic sandwich. I don’t even think I ate half of the half. I wasn’t feeling that well anyway and I didn’t want to really complain. I know my sister enjoy her hamburger my mother enjoyed her salad my nephew who can be picky really wasn’t digging his meal. Then I didn’t even want to order dessert but we did and my sister had told them its my mother my sisters birthday and we ordered two things and I’m so glad they didn’t sing happy birthday but they didn’t put a candle and didn’t acknowledge it nothing. it took forever to get a check from our we trust Plus to go box. I put the rest of my chicken wrap and sweet potato fries in the box to bring home. I eat more of those sweet potato fries at the restaurant then the wrap w/the dessert I only had about 2 spoonfuls. I really didn’t have too many exciting choices plus we have 4 adults sharing & my nephew had you know the like Dixie cup and might have been interested in a taste of one of them. So the dessert we had the one that was pretty good the chocolate chip cookie with vanilla ice cream but at that point my stomach was just so shot and turning. As we were finally leaving and walking to the car I was like I’m going to get sick & literally got in the car & told my father to drive & drive fast but don’t take the back winding roads take the straight route. We were home I think within 8 minutes and I got out of the car and let’s say my birthday dinner round up in the driveway. I highly doubt I will ever go back there again I do want to go to the one in orange which I don’t even know how they could share the same name. The menus don’t even compare when they looked at the one in orange online and from what I’ve heard. I don’t go out to eat often and when I do want to have a decent meal. I would have been fine and happy going to the shoreline diner they never screw up the handful of things that are my favorite there.

Nothing special. Love the ambiance and good for a quick fun dinner but sometimes dirty. If you’re looking for the bar option, there are many tv’s and also a fun atmosphere.

I stopped here on a Friday night for dinner by myself. It was packed. I had to wait almost ten minutes before a seat at the bar opened up. The bartender was very nice and their selection of beer not too bad. I ordered a chicken philly sandwich, which came out super fast and was still pretty good. There were lots of TVs for watching games etc., but most of them had the same basketball game on. There was quite a wait for a table. Definitely seemed to be THE place to be for Friday night dinner in Clinton. It reminded me a lot of my own favorite pub in my hometown of Naples.

I would give Chip’s a four star only because their food is hit or miss. For example, buffalo chicken dip will be amazing one day and the next they’ll hand out the broken chips out of the bottom of the bag. I get not wasting and efficiencies but come on a regular customer will notice this. No refills on soda but the food is yummy. I wish they’d update the décor to someone not so dark and dusty! Waitresses are A+! Kind, courteous and on top of everything.

We went on a Monday sat at a table in the bar and it wasn’t that busy but it took 10 min before we were offered drinks. It has a TGI Fridays feel when you come in. The steamed clams were fishy we only ate one each and left the rest. The cheese burger wraps were very light on the additional fillings. We had two small piece of avocado and half a leaf of romaine. The fried food was good but it’s hard to go wrong with mozz stix and potato skins. Potato skins we crisp and loaded with toppings. Our sever didn’t come over very often and when she cleared our plates she never even ask was everything ok your plates have been untouched. This will be a great place for drinks and fried app’s if your looking for a meal you should look elsewhere.

I haven’t been to Chip’s in years — at least 6 or 7… pleasantly surprised things are the same: fresh popped delish popcorn(I’m a sucker for it), a varied menu and friendly staff. I stopped in for lunch today with a friend and ate outside — it’s a little area which they’ve really made charming given it’s location off a sidewalk. We both had different versions of 10 oz. burgers and 10 hours later I am still stuffed. Best of all — well third best of all(first is popcorn, second is good) is you won’t be rushed. It was a nice leisurely lunch and a good break on the middle if a very busy day at work. The best that can truly be said is all these years later Chip’s is still serving quality food.

You gotta go on a Thursday night. They have a magician on Thursdays and it’s pretty cool if you like magic. Lol. Had a buffalo chicken salad. Hoping that it’s good. I’m just disappointed because I ordered a Stella and I’m sure it wasn’t poured proper in the Stella steps, because it came in a directv glass filled with no froth. So go in the buffalo chicken dip appetizer is awesome.

When we rolled up to this joint, after a lovely afternoon of shopping at the Outlets nearby, I was like, «Uhmmm…okay??» We walked through the bar to get the the host… and was like, «Well…let’s not make a snap decision… but…I mean… really??» We were greeted and sat immediately. The dining room looked like an Applebee’s and a Red Lobster got together and made a baby shack. But my friend raved so much about this place that I tried to keep my bourgeois thoughts to myself. And I’m VERY glad I did! Our server was lovely, and knowledgeable. The menu is extensive, and VERY well priced, especially for the portions! The buffalo shrimp appetizer(the best I have EVER had anywhere in my international travels) was fresh, breaded and fried perfectly, and GINORMOUS! This was MORE than huge enough to make an entire meal. I bought it for the table, and we barely dented half of this bad boy. I got the special ravioli with a blue cheese cream. The flavors were all there. Lovely! The crab was splendid. Not a big fishy, and quite plentiful. The sauce was a little thin for my liking, but I was super filled up after these back-to-back seafood dishes. My nieces mozzarella sticks, chicken fingers, and fries were plentiful, and not the least bit greasy. My friend’s salad was enormous, and she loved it. My only qualms(besides the general ambiance… then again… my fault for thinking this would be an upscale pub) were that the booths were tight… and I always give leeway for this since I’m not the smallest guy. But this was tight even for my squirming niece. And I ordered an Arnie Palmer… and it was just the one you get in a gas station, pre-bottled. I assumed I’d be getting fresh, or at least in a glass. But she just popped down the refrigerated bottle. Uhm…no. Still, everything was so awesome, especially the prices, that I really can’t give them less than a 4-star rating. I’ll be back!
