Is it just me, or does this place attract ghetto scums? My friends brought me here when I went down to visit from San Jose. It appears that most of the socially normal/non-violent/non-ghetto people go next door to The Old Town Saloon while the violent/ghetto/frowned-upon-by-society people gather here. If it weren’t for this type of crowd, this place actually isn’t too bad. They have a full bar, bathroom is fairly suitable, and the bar staff was polite. Seats and tables are very limited but, luckily we got there early enough to save ourselves a small table for 3. Note* This was on a Thursday night. By the way Mr. FCUK C., I was reading your review and just wanted to state that people like you give the military and their veterans a really bad reputation. Quite sad that blood and tears are shed by many good soldiers, to have the few low-life military people like you giving them a bad name. Ciao!

I could have sworn I’ve reviewed the Cellar before… Maybe it’s another case of a disappearing review, maybe not. Anyway– I would have reviewed the place with a 2 or 3 stars prior to a recent incident that happened to me(that completely WAS the establishment’s fault and is probably their policy– not being petty at all, here.) But anyway, the positives: — No cover(no way in hell would I ever pay one to come here, anyway) — At least one decent bartender(who happens to be the MMA fighter Jason Von Flue– my friend recognized him immediately. Seriously, google the guy.) — One of the few clubs that is promoted on Tuesday(meaning there’s actually people there on that day.) Not many places are open late Tues. Anyway, what gives this place the shittiest of ratings is the security. Don’t EVER come here being fooled that they actually do anything. Sorry for the lengthy story to come, but I feel like it needs to be said so it doesn’t come off that I was out of line or anything. I came here last Tuesday with only 3 girls and myself and as we were leaving, a guy(random) put his arm around one of them and was flirting, trying to do his thing as the club let out. Whatever, not my girlfriend– I tolerated this. Anyway, him and 4 of his friends followed us out to the parking lot(our cars were a mere 20 feet away from the club– in full view of the security guards– especially the one posted at the back door), and I didn’t like where shit was headed– she was clearly trying to get back to the car and blow him off, yet the dude was persistent. I called out to her, saying I needed to talk to her(to get her away from him, she was clearly uncomfortable talking to this creeper) and the random fucker wouldn’t let her come to me or even answer me, and he said, «hold up just a moment.» I walked up to them both(at this point, he has her practically in a headlock) and said, «excuse me?» of course, he was acting hard with his four friends in the background and said, «you heard me.» Let it be known that this whole altercation is being watched and heard by The Cellar’s security– again, we were 20 feet away from the door in their parking lot and security had at this point gathered around and watched with arms folded. Knowing that I was on my own here… I grabbed the dude by the throat and underneath his armpit and threw him hard against the pavement. One of his other friends came at me and swung– he missed and I pushed him hard enough to bruise him and he stumbled back into the other 3 of their friends– who were luckily sober enough to not want to fight– sparing me from a potential 5-on-1 beatdown. Security did NOTHING. NOTONEFUCKINGTHING. They didn’t come over and try to cool things down once things were CLEARLY escalating, nor did they tell ANYONE to leave the premises. I guess they thought they would enjoy the show instead. Thankfully, the girls had all gotten into their car and took off as soon as I had grabbed the instigator off of the poor girl– and everything turned out cool for us. But seriously– fuck you, rent-a-cops.

It’s ok. Very narrow inside which makes it feel crowded. There are some places to sit in the bar area and a decent size dance floor.

I came here on a Saturday or something like that. Place was dead and they had one dollar drink I spent five dolla and went to kimmies. The décor looks like someones garage with couches and a Nice bar. The place is a your experience may vary type place. It has its good and bad days. But for a place where you dont care if you have spot to sit at come here. The place has one of the best staff. I had a good time I will continue to come here

SO I have been here a few times usually only when someone else wants to go. Décor is alright nothing great, bar alright small overpriced drinks, music so so. My tip is to head next door to old town first… yes I know its a clovis bar but hey the drinks are cheaper the music is better and honestly its cooler to shill there till more people show up next door. Hit this place around midnight that is when people show up. There are usually more people standing around gawking at the dance floor then there are people dancing but that is usually how it is anyways. overall not my fav for much but its ok.

Some friends and I came here the Saturday after Thanksgiving. The place was nearly empty and remained pretty much so throughout the night. There were about 20 people on the dance floor the whole time. The bar itself was packed with people lingering near the bartender, but it was relatively easy to get drinks and keep in mind the place was almost empty otherwise. The place offered nothing special. Drinks weren’t inordinately cheap, the music wasn’t amazing, and the décor was about average. I liked that there was a an unequivocal place to sit for those who wanted to rest our feet between good songs, but perhaps I’m just used to venues that equate a sitting area to bottle service. All in all, I was with fun people, so I had a good time here. This is not a place I’d go to meet people.

Typical Clovis Bar, well like there’s a lot. I’ve been there only twice. And the first time I went there we HELLAASIANS! The second time, well last week it was cool. A mix crowd, I like it better that way. We had unlimited drinks and were so messed up, I had to call my bro and sis to drive my Bf’s Jag and my friend’s Denali home! hahaha! The police was cool! They were so waiting for us to get in the car to arrest us, but we didn’t we were smarter. Well I was the soberest one out of the four of us. Thanks bro and sis, and bro’s sister!

This is a fun place to «meet people». This is the club that you will go to, but not remember who you danced with. It’s stricly a drink, dance, meet random people type club. Though there have been nights where it seems dead, and nobody will be dancing. The later you go to this club, the more people will be there.
