this place rocks, i love their old world sauce! Super nice ladies working there and the customer service is the best. Im so glad my dad lives right down the street from this place so every time i go visit we can pick up a nice Spata’s Pizza.

This place is definitely worth trying. We had their veggie pizza and lasagna, side salad and bread sticks. The salad was really fresh and wasn’t just that «outta of bag salad» mix, it had tomatoes, cheese olives and mushrooms too. The pizza is better than most around town too, only negative is the crust could be crispier… I also saw that on many other reviews. We stuck it in the toaster oven and it was perfect.
The customer service from my phone call to place the order until came (late) to picked it up was awesome. Found out its sisters that run the place and they give the vibe that they really care about their business/​customers and it’s not just their job. We will definitely be going back.

Small no sit inside pick up pizza joint. The ladies where nice and the prices are good. The pizza for me is made on the cheap side. Kind of reminds me of a divincis and other places similar, to much cheese and not enough toppings. The sauce though was good and id be real interested in trying the old sauce they have next time. Crust little to thick for my liking and it could be cooked a tad bit longer since it gets soggy from the cheese. If you need a lot of pizza fast and cheap that’s decent yes come here and definitely get your money’s worth if your looking for quality pizza try somewhere else.

We are always searching for a good pizza… not that easy to find. But I Have to say your pizza was one of the best we have ever tasted! Tastes like real authentic pizza. The way puzza SHOULD taste! Very excited to find our new favorite pizza! IT WAS AWESOME! Can’t wait to come back and try more things on your menu!

2 stars automatically for using a real pizza oven instead of a conveyor belt. The pizza was perfectly baked.
The crust was good, the old world sauce is very tasty, and the toppings were plentiful.
It was a little greasy, but delicious, and of the 3 pizza places in the Ashlan/​Fowler area, they are the best.

Very affordable and tasty pizza; I’ve never had a bad experience ordering or picking up my pizza from here. My only, minor complaint is that they’re heavy on the cheese so be ready for a very cheesy pizza. The old world sauce is really great.

It was pizza night and I was in the mood for something new. We have been pretty happy with a large western pizza chain over the years. Recently our pizzas were just not made with as much care, you know, 1 – 2 slices with almost no cheese. It was just an inconsistent product lately. That and the price went up $ 1. Not a deal breaker if the product was top notch.
That led me to look in Unilocal for a locally owned pizza maker. There are several highly rated ones near Old Towne but two jumped out at me for some reason. One just had a big write up in the local paper so I thought they’d be busy. I will try them too. Then I saw Spata’s with a high rating and some yummy looking pictures. Since I was going through a serious case of PCD (Pizza Cheese Deficiency), I liked that the cheese is prominent on Spata’s pizza. It spoke to me. That’s right, I hear voices… from cheese. What of it?
I called and a friendly gal guided me to the Old World sauce on a large pepperoni. They asked if I needed jalapeño’s, ranch and/​or Parmesan. Following a couple leads from previous Unilocalers, I ordered a side order of Lasagna. I didn’t need more food but I wanted to try their lasagna while I was there. She said it would be ready in 15 minutes for pick up. They don’t have seating to eat there so either pick it up or have them deliver.
I arrived at the appointed time and all was ready to go. Took it home and my son came a running. He and I both really liked the pizza a lot and I just tasted the lasagna and it was just as good. Zesty red sauce, great cheese baked on. I have lunch all set for tomorrow.
I paid $ 13.99 plus tax for a large pie AND the a large portion of cheese covered lasagna. Great food, great service, terrific value. I drove by 6, 7, maybe 8 other pizza places to get to Spata’s. It was the best decision I made this week!

Local pizza place… Plus! And run by family… even better. It was my first time trying out the new business. I used to come here a lot when it was called Douggy Fresh, and they had great pizza! I was really sad when they left because they were the only ones that had a loaded veggie pizza with Cajun seasoning on the crust. And I love eating the crust, so another plus. But tonight, my family was really craving a good pizza and we didn’t want Me n’ Eds, so we decided to give this place a try. I didn’t get a chance to go in, I ordered it and my brother went to pick it up, so can’t give any details on how the location looks now. But I can on taste! We ordered two medium size specialty pizzas. One the combination and the other the Veggie Lovers. The price came to about $ 28. A bit steep on the price, I’ll definitely opt for the large next time at $ 10.99. When we opened up our boxes, I noticed a lot of chesse! The ingredients were covered! I thought that I had ordered just cheese pizzas. It wasn’t until I actually picked up a slice that I noticed that the pizza had ingredients, because my slice fell apart on me. Like literally, my whole slice of pizza gave way and fell apart. I had to use a fork to scope up the ingredients. I think their going for Chicago style pizza, but the pizza is not deep dish! Just a lot of ingredients trying to support a weak foundation. It wasn’t as flavorful, but not terrible either. It’s a decent pizza place if you like having your pizza give way on you, and your trying to catch up. I did eat the crust though, it was really tasty. So I’ll give it that. And that they give ranch and jalapeños free?!, awesome! And pizza place where I can eat a slice in its entirety is good in my books. Just the little kinks to work on, and it’ll be really good. I’ll be back!

Great veggie lovers Pizza with old world sauce. Fresh ingredients! Service was friendly and extremely helpful!

I was skeptical about whether this was going to be good, but I was happy I tried it. They make their own sauce and its good. Its a little too sweet for me, but I see its appeal. They crust was perfect though! I like a big fluffy crust and they were right on the money. The delivery was VERY FAST! That was a huge bonus.

I tried Spata’s a couple of weeks ago. I found it to be ok but it has the potential to be great. I ordered the ultimate pizza with their signature old world sauce and a side salad.
The ultimate pizza had adequate toppings and plenty of cheese but, it was a little soggy at the bottom. The crust was very tasty but it lacked old world sauce. I think the pizza could be awesome with extra sauce, which is what I will do the next time I order.
The side salad was great. Very tasty. I was pleasantly surprised.

Spata’s has potential and I’m not giving up on them. They are a breath of fresh air when you’re tired of Me-​n-​Eds.

Their pizza is pretty dang good… $ 7 for a carry out large is a steal. Their crust is excellent and we did extra cheese pizza and it was sooo good. We will def order from here again!
Also as a bonus, the woman in the front was really nice. =) and supporting local business is always a good thing!

We’ve had take out from this place three times now and it has quickly become our to go pizza place in the neighborhood. You can taste the freshness of the dough in the crust and the toppings are always plentiful. I recommend the combination with old world sauce if it is your first time. Also try the wings with thier blue cheese if your a wing person. What sold me was the amazing customer service, you can tell the staff are genuinely trying to get your order done. Last night they helped me out to my car, not because I asked or prompted but simply because I was carrying my daughter with me.

For $ 2 more than a Little Caesars hot and ready, you can get this glorious pizza! That’s right $ 6.99 for a large one topping carry out pizza!?! Which, there is no option to eat in, there is only delivery or carry out. (10.99 if you order delivery)
I have only ordered our pizza with the old world sauce, so I can’t comment on how the regular sauce taste. The old world sauce is sprinkled with meat and seasonings and very flavorful. However, when you grab a slice of your pizza, most of the toppings WILL slide off, you then have to restructure the cheese and toppings as a big giant ball on top of your slice. Cheese sticks I think are slightly better More Than Pizza, but still super yummy.
On a Thursday, I called at 7:50 to place an order for pick up. The woman on the phone took my order and said it would be ready in 15 minutes. Great. I walk in at 8:00, and notice a little girl is standing near the cashier with her jacket on. It directs me to the hours of operation sign in front. Weekdays, it closes at 8:00!!! Oh my gosh, I’m the asshole!
I immediately apologize, and she was simply un-​phased by my call. She said it was perfectly fine, that they were just getting ready to close but hadn’t shut down yet and seemed so nice and polite about my late order.

If you like reasonably priced and delicious pizza, this is the place to go. We’ve been here a few times and always good and fresh. I cant believe how accommodating they are with the toppings and very gracious with the cheese. I don’t eat pizza often but when I have a hankering for one, we make the travel to get it over here.

Was eager to try this place from all the good reviews but was extremely disappointed.
Got a medium pizza and lasagna for 24 $. Tasted like crap. The pizza had the consistency of cardboard and the lasagna had waaay to much sauce, noodles were way overcooked.
When calling to make the order, the guy who answered just said, «hello?».
I don’t know about you, but when calling a business, normally the people who answer will state the business name, possibly their own name and/​or the cross streets. Not this guy. He’s just like, «hello?». Uh, hey what’s up? Am i calling the right place?
Anyway, i ended up regretting my decision and wished i had just gotten chinese.

Background: I live in North Carolina and my boyfriend lives in Fresno. It was his birthday and I wanted to do something special for him. Like any true American, we both love pizza… Good pizza. So, I wanted to have pizza delivered to his work and surprise him with lunch. The people I spoke to on the phone were very accommodating, helpful, and excited to be apart of the plan. Not only were they able to deliver to the location I needed (many of their competitors wouldn’t), they also wrote on the box «Happy Birthday!» I also ordered the cinnamon sticks as I were told they were a patron favorite. I was able to pay over the phone (again, something their competitors would not allow me to do), and add a nice tip so my boyfriend didn’t have to worry about it.
When my boyfriend got the call for a pizza delivery at work, he had no idea what was going on. The delivery person told him what was happening and he couldn’t get the smile off of his face! He told me the pizza was delicious and the cinnamon sticks are dangerously good! The only thing I am upset about are his coworkers eating his pizza while he was on position, took without asking, and didn’t even wish him a Happy Birthday. I suppose not all people are not as friendly as the staff at this great pizza joint! If I could give them more stars, I would. Thank you!

Another pizza shop, but this one is worth it. If you live in the area you know there is a few choices. PICK this one! Why the food of course plus the owners I believe we’re so sweet and even thought the made an error they made it right free of charge.
Let’s talk pizza we order a large ultimate with out onions (error) we got the onions, but with that said we loved it, you have options of sauces I ordered old world yummy the portion of ingredients are spread throughout the pizza. Crust is thick but we like that so depends what you prefer. Great pizza !
I also order the lasagna it’s good to much sauce for me and the taste of the sauce was some what plain just missing something. It comes with a salad and bread sticks.
I will return great prices and pizza was delicious! Can’t wait to try again.

Wife and I needed a quick fix for dinner and this little gem popped up on Unilocal near our house.
The pizza was the star of the show here! Crust is thick but light and crunchy. The toppings are buried under a generous portion of cheese. Went with the old world sauce which has just the right amount of tang you want in a good sauce. At $ 6.99 for carry out this is a steal!
If the deal for the pizza wasn’t good enough we added on a huge «side» portion of lasagne for $ 2. My wife really enjoyed it.
The 2 ladies behind the counter were really friendly and nice to my little girls. Oh, and no up charge for ranch!
Prices may eventually go up, but it’s all good. If you’re looking for a really tasty dinner for a great price hit this place up!

His new pizza spot makes me happy. Don’t get me wrong, there are others in the area I love but this is fantastic.
First I LOVE the old world sauce. It’s just a different flavor that is just so enjoyable. Not as tart as typical pizza sauce. I would actually want more of this when I normally ask for less.
The pizza is just a wonderful treat. Not too heavy, not too doughy, and the perfect amount of toppings. It is just very enjoyable. And the next day, as leftovers (shocking that any was left) it was just as good.
The people who work there are just great. So nice and wonderful to share their personal faves. Definitely the type of establishment that you would love to support.
And finally the prices. So darn reasonable. I couldn’t believe that the one topping for my kids was only around 6 dollars! What a steal. Plus there are so many extras that they offer, I can’t wait to try out the menu!
