Best restaurant I’ve been to in the grove so far. All the seafood is imported and very fresh. Sea bream carpaccio shouldn’t be missed. The waiters are all Italian and it feels like you could be in Italy. There is a cute outdoor area in the back for a nice night too. It’s small so try to make a reservation of you can.

If you don’t mind being fleeced by Professional Italians straight from central casting, then by all means go. Patrons seem to swoon over the illusion that they are part of this loud boisterous Italian family. In truth, the portions are small. Main course pricing for appetizer size servings. The food is ho hum although the staff wants you to think you are eating the stuff of legend and be humbly grateful.

the best best best seafood restaurant in miami!!! only who knows the quality of seafood can understand it!!! most of fish comes from italy or from mediterranean sea. which means top quality! the raw … is delicious and often i buy it from them when i have to cook for my guests… this’s not a kind of restaurants where ask meatballs pasta or alfredo pasta!!! this restaurant is for seafood connoisseurs !!! the master chef **valter mancini** is an amazing chef!!! he really knows his job!!! always available to suggest what can be good for you! servers are very gentle and kind, so i really suggest this restaurant!!! it’s only place where i go to eat after trying so many low quality«seafood» restaurants.

Since we temporarily relocated to Coconut Grove I have had some excellent meals. However this is my first restaurant review. Sapore is a gem of a restaurant and my daughter said it was the best meal in the Grove she has had. We had the burrata which was scrumptious. The calamari was good but get only if you are sharing with multiple guests. It’s a lot of calamari and I couldn’t finish it. We then split the pasta with bolognese. Absolutely the best dish and the pasta so fresh. We had a dessert that was so extraordinary because we had never had it before. I only wish I could understand the waiter to know what it was. We tried to find it but their menu doesn’t have dessert written. Ask for the dessert with zabaglione! The service –the best. They treat you like family. Can’t wait to go back!

This place is more accurately described as $$$ not $$. Each of the main course is between $ 20 — 28 so it really can’t be 11 — 30 per person. The food was delicious though. I got the tagliolini with cherry tomatoes and mushroom. I don’t know what in the sauce but it was delicious, and the mushroom was really juicy. My bf got the special, which was rigatoni with brocolli rabe + sausage. It was really rich but the taste was good. It is pricey, though probably comparable to other restaurants in Coconut Grove.

Try peacock in the grove instead. Rviewer Dani is right on! Capacity for 20 yet the prices are Brickell oriented! First of all when bread comes in a brown paper bag run! Was it a bomb or poison? Nope. It was the bread that’s served first prior to you ordering. Steak 42 dollars. No fettucini Alfredo of any type. If you’re accompanied by someone that enjoys chicken for example there’s no variety for them at all. Glasses of wine 15 dollars? Owner sat us in the back claiming she had many reservations yet place had plenty of room left. Needless to say… we left to peacock gardens where a steak is 22 dollars and the ambience is an oasis paradise. Don’t even bother and sin like we did. We’re grovites by the way. So we’ve dined at even very single restaurant our beloved grove has to offer. Lulus, green st, strada(across the st is awesome) Calamari, peacock gardens, cheesecake factory, le mason bouchon, akashi, panorama in sonesta hotel and the list goes on. If you’re seeking an amazing italian evening strada is stellar. Ambience wise peacock gardens is both historic and reasonably priced. Don’t overpay just to hear italian being spoken. Lil Italy in NY had lower prices and better quality food then this place!

This place is just okay and so overpriced!!! Why it has 4.5 stars is beyond me… The service was good, the food was good/okay, and the ambience is okay. I had very high hopes and I’m not so impressed. But it isn’t bad.

Another great meal. Insalata del Re was really outstanding — a great final touch with tartufo. The Veal Chop with risotto was great as well. And, the service so friendly, one always wants to come back. Veronica feels you be at home.

Amazing. How is it possible I have never known about this place until last night? My wife and I had a fantastic dinner here. Everything was just perfect — fresh pea soup, tuna tartare, branzino, risotto. Plus we had a really nice bottle of Greco di Tufo. Service was also great and the place couldn’t be more adorable. Like a trip to the Amalfi coast!

If you live in Broward County and take I-95 South all the way to the end, you can find yourself in Italy, in an elegant, charming Italian Seafood Restaurant along the Mediterranean, probably in Venice. Sorry to say, that is not where I was, but when I walked into Sapore Di Mare, my eyes and my mouth were wide open, knowing that this night was going to be a very special evening with our great friends, MIchelle and Dominic, who had lived in Miami and know some of the best hidden secrets and Sapore Di Mare did not disappoint. In fact from the moment we walked in and were greeted WARMLY by the owner Matteo Paderni, previous owner of the successful , the Mozzarella bar in Miami, and Gusto in Miami Beach, we felt right at home and confident Matteo was going to take great care of us, like he welcomed us into his own home. We had made reservations for 5:00 pm and of course it was still light out which really brightened up an already bright atmosphere, with beautiful white table clothes and napkins beautifully folded on the bread plates and glistening stemware that made you want to poor that first glass of wine from their fabulous selections. The outside booths were also white. The windows had white blinds pulled down but opened up to let the bright light in. As you looked towards the back of the dining room you can see a bright bar with all the décor to let you know that you are going to be here to experience a serious Italian Seafood Experience. The whole theme of Sapore Di Mare is exactly what the name is all about: the Flavor of the Sea and this beautiful focal point in the back which not only had the décor of great ships of the oceans, but some of their beautiful wines and glasses beautifully displayed all around the bar. We were seated at a great booth up front at the window. The booth had blue and white stripped pillows with anchor decorations on them. Our server, dressed with the shirt that the Gondola boaters use in Venice, came over and popped open a great bottle of Prosecco to start off our evening and fresh water out of the bottle. They put a «bag» of fresh bread on the table with, of course the Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Balsamic Vinegar to dip the bread in on our bread plates. Michelle selected a fabulous Super Tuscan to start us off before our appetizers were recommended by Matteo to share and we more or less let him guide us on what would be great for us to start with. We ordered the Carpaccio Branzino with Green Apple. Incredible, I love Branzino but never ate it raw like a new sashimi dish, pounded flat with some sort of citrus sauce, green apple and lemon. We also had the Carpaccio Duo made with fresh tuna. Here was our favorite and a MUST order: The Insalada d’mare. Outstanding dish with fresh spinach topped with fresh shrimp, calamari and octopus. So, behind me, our server comes by with a fresh block of Parmasan Reggiano and a grater to sprinkle over our Insalada d’mare This was a definite fresh seafood delight. As we enjoyed these starters, the wine was opening up nicely and was getting better. Of course dipping the bread in that olive oil went well with both. As we decided on our dinner, it was apparent we were all going to enjoy their fabulous FRESHBRANZINO, which is a must if a great Italian Seafood restaurant carries it. The issue came up about how we were going to also try their Papperdelle, so we split one big serving and it was perfectly cooked al dente and topped with strips of fresh Parmasan, sprinkled with Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Just like the Insalada d’mare, I will be ordering this again when I come back. We all ordered the Branzino, always fresh, with no seasonings, filleted and just served as is with a side of peas and flat roasted potatoes. The fish was cooked perfectly and did not need anything but lemon on the side. They also prepare it with crusted salt, but we never did get it served that way. Some time during the dinner, Matteo recommended an Italian Blended wine for our second bottle. Another great bottle of wine. Lastly, the desert. Matteo’s wife made an amazing home made Limoncello Cake. Wow. I usually TRY to avoid dessert but this was special. With a side of Cappuccino, this was a great way to end our fabulous seafood experience. Giving credit where credit is due, we had the honor to meet the Chef who has been with Matteo from his years being with . Executive Chef Vaulter Mancini was nice enough to come over to our table and introduce himself, as he was part of their family and made us feel the same. Speaking of family, Matteo’s sister was everywhere in the dining room making sure everyone was happy during the course of the meal. There is no question when I ask myself where I want to go to enjoy a great Italian Seafood experience, that Sapore Di Mare is the place to go. Thank you Michelle and Dominic for introducing us to this charm and great cuisine. Special thanks to Matteo for making this a special evening.

This italian restaurant is really good, especially for seafood lovers! Almost all foods are related to seafood, including pasta choices. It‘s not easy to find a restaurant which serves good pasta, not overcooked, in good amount and with delicious saucse without being too overwhelming or too scarce with the amount of it. But, from my point of view, what makes the place stand is the atmosphere. It‘s noisy and lively but cozy and intimate at the same time, there is a nice candlelight in the restaurant, something in the place will make you feel like in Europe. The waiters are kind and work very hard, you will see them running all around. Price is not too cheap, but not expensive for the quality food!!! Warning: it get‘s crowded so make a reservation or go early!

Stop! And look no further for the most amazing Italian food this side of the Amalfi Coast. We tried several different dishes: pasta, carpacio, fish, desert, more deserts. Wow! I loved every single bite and sip. Service: impeccable. Atmosphere: casual, nautical. Dina said it looked like they bought it all at Marshalls. But the food… A solitamente fantastico! Bravo. Ciao. Ci vediamo domani.

Para um descendente de italianos, o bom restaurante italiano, é aquele que o faz sentir-se em casa. Assim é o Sapore di mare. Simples, despojado, autêntico italiano. Sem frescuras nem aberrações gastronômicas.

Today is the morning after my fabulous meal last evening! No surprise I am still thinking about all of the wonderful food. Mateo, the former owner of «IL Nido» recently opened up another new restaurant with a great concept. The main focus is fresh seafood. The restaurant itself is small yet very charming. It is as if you are in Italy sitting at a ma and pa trattoria while getting ready for mama to make some of the best food you will ever taste. His Chef(wish I could remember his name) is from Rome. Having an owner and Chef both being from Italy, you have to know this IS authentic Italian cuisine. The Chef kept coming out speaking Italian to my husband and Mateo as we tried to figure out what I wanted to eat. After following Mateo with his three very different restaurants he knows my palate quite well. Both with food and wine. I did not need to look at the menu thankfully because I wanted to try one of everything it all looked so good. We started with a good bottle of Tuscan wine, and bread was brought out to us. My opinions of my dining experience many times depend a lot on bread. I know crazy but if you do not have good bread it ruins so much for me. YES, don’t judge me I love my carbs!!! Mateo told us we had to try the Carpacio Branzino. The platter arrived to our table(see picture) and after the first bite I was in food heaven. The fish was very thin, placed on top of thinly sliced green apples. OK, now seriously I have to say this was the best flavor combination I have ever had in my mouth. So fresh, perfectly seasoned and the apple gave it such a unique flavor. I know I will be craving this for a very long time. Then next up was a huge crab leg. Mateo came over with the dish, cracked open the leg, dipped it in a delicious butter sauce and told us to try it. I am not a huge fan of crab legs, meaning I can take them or leave them. Well after you try these you will forever feel differently as I did. The crab was so cold, and huge fresh chunks of crab. Excellent!!! The seafood did not stop here. They asked if we had ever tried«Scampo»(see picture phone changed it to scampi) after saying no we decided to try it. Here it came with two forks already out of the shell. I have never seen a shrimp look like this and of course I had no idea how to eat it. Grabbed my fork was over excited and stuck the entire piece in my mouth. Ha ha, it is meant to eat small tiny bites slowly. Hard to describe really, so Mateo told me it is an Italian version of Sushi. Give it a try, it is excellent and quite different, it melted like butter in your mouth. After all of this food we still had our entrée’s coming out. Oh my, this was intense! I chose the freshly made Pappardelle pasta because I saw the Chef make it. I ordered it with Porcini mushrooms. Hubby had the Taglialini di Cozze. Both dishes were so incredibly fresh with such perfect flavor. We enjoyed every bite and half way through we switched plates so we could both enjoy each entrée. I could go on and on about the quality of the food and all the amazing deliciousness but it is an experience. An experience that will tantalize your palate with such unique flavors. We finished of course with a Limoncello cake slice. No way do I ever leave without this. Mateo’s beautiful wife bakes it and it is the most amazing cake ever! Perfect location, Coconut Grove needed this restaurant, oh free parking behind the building. I would suggest making reservations if possible. Only several weeks open and his following and many new guest pack this great place. Prices are reasonable, especially for the quality here. If you want low prices please save yourself and go to Olive Garden. This is all about the BEST quality, the BEST food privately owned by a local who knows the business! I will FOREVER be a fan of any concept Mateo opens. His food and service speak for themselves. TIAMO!!! TIAMO!!! GRAZIE!!!

Located in the heart of Coconut Grove, Sapore di Mare is serving up reasonably priced, tasty, and hearty Italian dishes, and keeping the place packed even only a few weeks after opening their doors! We came with a large-ish party for a birthday celebration, and were pleased with the food and the service. We ended up sharing quite a few appetizers and pasta dishes, with the standout for me being the taglialini with truffles and mushroom that was a chalkboard special. The prices are super-reasonable, and even with ordering 4 bottles of wine, our party of 7 ended up walking out stuffed for about $ 50 a person. One complaint I have — we ordered a cheese board, and it was set out on the table with no explanation or articulation of what cheeses were which, which really would’ve been appreciated, since there were quite a few interesting options. But I’m looking forward to trying out more of Sapore di Mare’s menu on future visits!
