This is the worst restaurant I have ever been to! Me and my husband first sat at the bar where Marcos, the bartender completely ignored the fact that we were there! And after 15 minutes when we finally got his attention, he responded with«well my regulars are my first priority» I couldn’t believe it! Deciding to move from the bar to another seat by the kitchen, we could hear management and servers talking horribly about customers and making jokes with such vulgar language! This place needs to be shut down, or under new management!

Great food and even better service! They have an extensive beer, wine, and martini menu and most of their drinks are made with fresh juices. Tallon is a great bartender and made us feel right at home! I can’t wait to go back again!

Very enjoyable evening We really enjoyed the wings… two kinds; habanero and plum glazed. The house Martini made with their own gin was excellent. Marcus took excellent care of us and made extremely tasty drinks. Overall, a great stop and we are glad we found this gem.

I always eat here when I’m out of town and it has always been very good. Last night I sat at the bar and waited about 30 minutes for my meal As I suspected when it was delivered the steak, vegetable and potato were room temperature. The meal was returned. Not nearly the service or food I had learned to expect. Of course, there was no offer to adjust the bill in any manner,

Stopped by for lunch on a sunny spring day, and enjoyed sitting out on the patio. I had the fish tacos and side house salad. The fish tacos were okay(not great, not bad, but okay). The side salad was huge! I think the value of the food quality versus price is decent.

What a great experience! Came in to town to visit some friends and they suggested Bardenay. It’s on a little lake with a large open inside, long bar and pretty big patio. Lots of ppl were hanging out out front so we thought there would be a wait but we got seated right away on the patio to wait for friends. Glasses of ice water showed up right away, then our waitress, who was very busy, who said hi and got drink orders. She was nice and attentive to us despite obviously having many tables. Our drinks were brought out by another staff member pretty quickly and yet another person brought out $ 5 chips and salsa(was fast and fresh but not awesome). Friends came; we ordered pad Thai which was yummy and a great price; pork verde sammiches were amazing, cilantro and super tender pork prices; and a kinda ok tuna melt. Food, drinks, refills and over-all service was very prompt and helpful. Price was reasonable for a waterfront restaurant –4 with dinner, two drink each and two apps was 120! They had a well-oiled machine working this Friday night in May. They added a wonderful sunset too. Go there!

We were visiting the area and our hotel recommended this place. The menu is nice, moderately priced and has a variety of choices. My wife had trouble picking, they had so many good choices. All of our food was very good except the chorizo and beans. There was no flavor which is not expected with chorizo. The couscous was non traditional, sweet, but very good. The rueben with Kim chi, the burger and the lava cake were all yummy. Why the 4 stars… service was terribly slow. Waited 4 to 5 minutes to be greater by waiter and everythin g we ordered took too long… from the water to our drinks to our food. We ordered their drink of the month and they made the wrong drink. The other drink didn’t come as it was suppose to. They didn’t put it on the rocks with a cinnamon stick as described so we sent it back and waited again. I think it was the first day for the hostess or she needs more training. Not sure if I would go back next time we are in the area but I know my wife wants to try some other items on the menu. Place seemed popular and could be great with mire attention to detail.

BARDENAYAMERICAN-STYLEKOBEBEEFSANDWICH!!! WOW! It is as good as it gets. Honestly everything I have tried here is very good. The smoked Trout spread is divine as well. Keep in mind it is very filling and it is actually a great appetizer to enjoy with some of their excellent martinis while sitting outside overlooking the pond. Service here is usually very good. Prices are reasonable as well. A great place in Coeur d Alene to get your late afternoon or evening off to a wonderful start.

Starting out with a dirty lipstick smudged wine glass that I sent back, I watched as the bartender poured my wine into another glass and the waitress wiped it off. When I asked the waitress for a fresh glass — she stated that it was, then denied that the bartender just poured it into another glass. I Saw them! I kindly requested a fresh glass with a fresh wine. The manager brought it to my table and was very apologetic. Then the pear salad came. Slimy spinach. Really slimy spinach. Blah I pushed the slimy stuff to the side and as much as I tried — just couldn’t eat the salad. My husband had the Oriental Salad. He liked it — all but the onions that should have been used in cooking, not for a salad. I love the ambiance in the summer, being able to eat outside and enjoy the views — but the quality has really gone downhill since they first opened. We did enjoy a beautiful sunset as we left! I don’t think we will be going back very soon. It will take quite a bit to convince me to go back at all!

I have been to this place a few times over the years and it was a 3 star each time but had not gone back at least within the last couple years. I brought my friend Stephanie for lunch and the service and food was wonderful. Monique took our order and was very helpful with suggestions. We settled on an appetizer salmon and caper spread and also had the guacamole/bacon burger on special with a bottle bear to wash it down. Everything was great quality and flavorful. I had to take half my burger home! We also went to the bar and she had a cocktail and I had a draft beer. It was a happy hour time but each drink was 6.00. I’m not sure if they have happy hour there and I didn’t ask. I give Monique 5 stars for service and 4 stars nearly on price point. This place has atmosphere but when it fills up the noise carries as well.

Atmosphere was great. The Ginger Rum cocktail was fabulous. The food was not that impressive. I had the teriyaki albacore special. The teriyaki sauce was very spicy, which I didn’t care for. The fish was over-cooked and hard. I also had the chocolate Carmel torte and it was ok, but not fabulous. It seemed more like a refrigerated dessert than one that was made fresh.

Great atmosphere, especially in the warmer months with the outdoor patio. The also have the least expensive cocktails in town, and they are made well. The food is also above average. All in all, a good place to go!

I love the food. Try to come here once a month at least. All three bar tenders make a quality drink and the servers are friendly. I enjoy being able to seat myself and in the summer time choosing between the patio and main dining area is no competition. The view is fantastic from outside. Usually stick with a sandwich, either yellow fin tuna, Kobe beef, or Reuben(I can’t do kimchi, just sub kraut). Fan of the clams Portuguese for a starter, and homemade desserts to finish it off.

Love this place. Was one of the first places I ate when I first visited the area. In the summer, get a patio seat out by the cool water and enjoy a quiet evening with friends over dinner and drinks. Good food, friendly service.

I wasn’t sure if my kids and I would like this place, but my husband was all about it. He was right! Great food and amazing service! My in-laws, kids and I loved what we had to eat. Usually I don’t finish everything I get and I give half of what I want to my husband. This time I did not want to share. I’m excited to go back to try out other things on the menu.

Really this should be more like 3.5 stars. Why doesn’t Unilocal let you leave half stars yet? Anyways, the stars I’m giving are mostly for the location and view. They have such a good patio space right next to a big pond so you feel like maybe you’re right on the lake. The food was just okay. I ordered the oriental chicken salad which had the foundation to be great as it came with chicken, water chestnuts, red peppers, wonton crisps, but it was drenched in an oriental ginger vinaigrette that just tasted like soy sauce. A lot of soy sauce. Also, the chicken seemed to have been formerly frozen. You can just tell, you know? I will say, though, that my friend ordered the chipotle chicken sandwich and it looked really good and cheesy gooey. She even said she liked it a lot. I’ll update my review if I go back and try something more exciting than a salad, though.

Not bad, not the best. Definitely gets points for décor and comfort, but the food isn’t something to call home about. Highlights: Roomy, cool layout, high ceilings, good beer/liquor selection, friendly staff, open later than usual. Cons: Food is average, but on the tasty side. Good spot for a date, I’m sure, as I’m not really from this area either. However I did notice a lot of blind date type vibes happening. Ready to bet that this is the go-to place for quick, classy, and sorta cheap dining.

We have been to Bardenay several times since it opened and the food and service is usually good. However, that all depends on when you go. 1. The sign when you walk in that’s says«seat yourself» really means«depending on where you sit you might not get waited on. 2. Their main problem is a lack of consistent wait staff procedures. On the busy days they have their«A» team on duty and are extremely attentive. However on those slow days during a work day… Forget it. We have walked out twice when no one would even bring us a menu, even though we sat 3 ft away from 2 bartenders and a waitress all talking to each other. Not even a glance our way to tell us they would be there soon. I don’t mean to appear snotty but when I’m paying money for a nice lunch I’d appreciate at a minimum a menu to order from. We packed up and left. As a side note we went to Azteca and had an awesome lunch with a great waiter. The female waitress who blew us off at Bardenay walked in to Azteca to see her boyfriend… Who was our waiter! We left him a $ 20 tip.
