My favorite coffee shop to study in. Open until 1 am. Lots of room and a good vibe. Check it out!

Bright and open up front, quiet, great for studying. I’ve only tried the plain latte, but it was very good. So was the veggie quiche. The staff are very helpful, and they remember me when I come back. Definitely recommend to other students.

Lupa’s is a great alternative to the better known coffee shops/lounges closer to campus like Sweet Eugene’s and Mugwall’s. I feel like the open layout inside is more conducive to meetings and such when the aforementioned are too crowded; that said the atmosphere may be a little less cozy than Mugwall’s and Sweet’s when you’re studying or working on your own. That all comes down to your preference. In the coffee department Lupa’s kills it. Whatever Aztec blend was on drip the other day was some great world-changer fuel, even though it’s a bit on the acidic side. If black isn’t your thing they have pretty darn good lattes and such as well. Overall I’d definitely say go check them out.

Minimalistic in nature yet the coffee is absolutely delicious. It’s the place I would love to bring friends to linger over a cup of coffee and grab a muffin. This is definitely one of my favorite coffee shops in College Station. I really love the coffee here — it’s definitely the best in College Station. Even just a batch brew is out of this world. If you’re not into coffee, they also have a wild selection of teas. Highly recommend it. The lighting is wonderful for studying and it’s natural. Every time I’ve been here it’s been pretty quiet so you can get some serious work done. Highly recommend this spot!

I go here almost everyday, and I absolutely love it! The baristas are super friendly and quick to serve. The coffee is the best I have ever had. They use Promise Land milk and texture it way better than any other coffee shop I have been to– especially Starbucks! Lupa’s cares about the quality of their product and treat every customer with respect.

Jasmine milk tea is the bomb. Love chilling out here after getting my eyebrows done from Laila’s. Coffee could be hotter but the space is easy going and chill and the outdoor tables are nice and customer service has been pretty great each time I’ve been here. Thumbs up.

I tried to order a breve latte here, which basically just means I want half-and-half instead of milk. I was told by the cashier that they’re not allowed to make it breve and that I could only have milk. There was a whole shelf full of cartons of half-and-half in the fridge behind her so I have no idea why I couldn’t just have half-and-half instead of milk, but you can get a breve latte at every other coffee shop in College Station. So I guess that means I have to go pretty much anywhere else except Lupa’s. Bummer.

I usually don’t write reviews however the customer service at Lupa’s was exceptionally bad, I went with a group of friends just to grab some coffee and hangout, however the barista with the purple hair was talking to her friends the whole time and acted like we were disturbing her when asking for coffee. As soon as we ordered she ignored us some more and it took a very long time to have the coffee made. The coffee was decent but if you want decent customer service don’t go to Lupa’s

I love it here. The atmosphere is very laid back and casual. They have a lot of space for individual studying or tables fit for 2 – 4 people. There’s a lounge area in the back where it’s typically more quite and dim for those who want to leisurely read on the couch or prefer quieter study areas. I’ve only had their snickerdoodle latte and hot chocolate, but both were good! I love the latte art!

Worst cup of coffee. I think they must have cleaned the equipment and didn’t rinse it — it tastes like chemicals and bitter on bitter. Three creams can’t cut the bitter taste of this cup of coffee. Looking forward to throwing this down the sink and making a cup of Folders.

Great place to relax and enjoy a great cup of coffee! So much room, which is awesome! You don’t feel packed in like most coffee shops! Love this place!

What’s not to like about Lupa’s? This cozy little coffee house serves great beverages in its rustic setting. It’s the perfect go-to place if you want to settle comfortably with a laptop or book and a cup of good coffee.

My only real complaint is there isn’t any size options. The service is always great. They are always very friendly and helpful. The coffee taste great and so does the baked goods. I’m a latte gal myself for the most part, but my husband likes the slow drip coffee and liked there black eye as well(slow drip w/espresso). So whether ur looking for a coffee fix or a way to stay up all night(and day) you can find options here. There is usually only one person working so it isn’t the fastest of service if ur in a hurry, but they work fast for being one person. Honestly probably less of a wait then going to Starbucks most days and waiting in line to place ur order then waiting again to get ur drink. Plus it’s a better quality for sure!

At first I was blown away at how spacious this place was… and then I was blown away again once I heard«$ 7.04» for my iced mocha + almond milk + 2 shots. Too expensive and not good enough for a recommendation. Also, the customers stare too much. Seriously!

Unfortunately I can’t say very much good about this café. They appear to only have one size option for their espresso drinks; it’s very small which is fine but they charge as much as you would pay on average for twice the size. Half the reason I go to coffee shops is to get a pastry, and their selection was pretty sparse. Not sure where they are getting their muffins, etc but they were not fresh or very good. Perhaps the place is still going through growing pains and will get better! The space is cute and would be a nice place to study or work or meet a friend.

Honestly, why go to Mugwalls or Sweet Eugene’s when there’s Lupa’s? Best I’ve had in this area. There’s something about College Station coffee shops that pushes them, for some odd reason, to have a variety of specialties. Lupa’s still happens to fall within that category. I’ve been told that the Canadian Latte is one of people’s favorites, but holy bejeezus, that drink is sweet. A latte drowned in maple syrup and cinnamon, it will satisfy those with a major sweet tooth, but stay away from it if you prefer something more bitter. Vanilla lattes? They’re alright. Solid enough, and the foam doesn’t fall over the cup, which, to me, means good texture. TONS of space for studying. There’s a back room past the room with the chalk boards(there are chalk boards – what more do you need to study?) with couches and tons of tables. The lighting isn’t too shabby either. Very homey environment. Only thing I wish they had was music. The dead silence is killing me, here. I wouldn’t come here to chat; it feels wrong to be the one to disrupt the awkward lack of noise.

With Muldoon’s gone the way of the sorely missed It’s A Grind(wiping away a tear), the options for better-than-Starbucks cafes has taken a dip. So today I re-visited Lupa’s and was pleasantly surprised by the strong espresso flavor and pretty darn good head of foam on my latte. It’s still not an example of coffee excellence, but I would put it about alongside 1541 as the top two places in B/CS. The foam still isn’t perfect, lacking that microfoam transition that provides the smooth-as-silk mouthfeel, but the foam is very significantly improved from my first visit a year ago and rather satisfactory. I’m still not sure I like the décor, particularly the raw view of large parking lots and a busy road. Last time I suggested blinds… but perhaps one of those window-decals that are transparent would provide light and a view outside but also hide away some of the suburbia. My ideal café is an island of peace, where walking through the door leaves the world behind. My ideal café certainly doesn’t have a TV in the corner showing the news… that’s for doctor’s offices and airports. I like the wooden tables, but the chairs could be a bit more comfortable.

Very good! I met a friend here for(what else) coffee after she suggested we try it. When we went, it was totally packed with college students preparing for finals, but I was surprised to discover how big the place actually is, and there were tons of places to sit, despite having what felt like 100 people in there. The décor was a little austere, as others have noted, but overall it was comfortable enough and airy. Much brighter than Harvest in Bryan(another place I love, but WOW it’s dark in there!). And the staff were all really friendly and helpful. The coffee I had was excellent. My friend and I both got the salted caramel latte, and at first I regretted my choice when I realized how intensely sweet it might be, but was very pleasantly surprised to discover that it was a perfect balance of sweet(and not syrupy-sweet, either) and its other flavors, without choking out the true«coffee» taste. Also, pretty coffee art to top! Only slightly negative note, my latte was maybe a little lukewarm to my liking, but even when it got cold, it still tasted great. Overall, I think I’d like to come back when it’s not finals time, and maybe work on some projects while sipping more of their excellent coffee.

As promised! Yes, like MacArthur to the Philippines, I have returned… to update my review. Granted, not sure anyone was waiting with baited breath(don’t fancy myself the kibitzer of kibitzers some Unilocalers do), but I digress. But I digress… Lupa’s has gone through a renaissance in every sense: pastries are made in house(and look truly first class). The coffee is no longer What’stheBuzz, but a gourmet roaster from Houston. And very legit, single origins. Then, the lattes, caps and maccs. All edging pro level, third wave. In a world where Sweet’s still doesn’t care, Doon’s is gone, Mugs is evading creditors, and Sbux is going to one day rule us all(oh, how right you were Chuck Palahniuk!), Lupa’s is THE legit, atmospheric third-wave trending shop in B/CS. There have also been marked improvements in ambiance. Warm wood tables, cabinets and wall-fixtures liven up in the inside along with local art. And, saving the best for last(although you always had this) customer service is exceptional. Just a super friendly staff. Yes, detractors, it is in a shopping center, but c’mon. You’re in the Brazos Valley… Let’s be real… any issue with that is really more of a you problem. All this to say, Lupa’s has become the third-wave heir. Keep it up guys. Full steam wand ahead!

New coffee shop across from the Prospectors Saloon as well a the famous 40 Tempura. If I was still in College I would probably start coming here as my new study joint to study, it smells super fresh and they have beautiful furniture but the interior decorator could use a few updates to his arsenal of designs… I do like the chalk-board on the wall, it’s very cool and appealing to look at. The cappuccino was decent, I’ve had better, but it will def do the job for a study sesh or quick coffee fix. The pastries looked delicious but they don’t have any gluten-free options so I opted out of those choices. We asked for it to-go and got it served in mugs anyway, but I’m sure there still sorting out service issues. It smells good on the inside, looks decent, and cool spot to study, or hangout for a quick coffee/pastry break. As well as Free-Wifi, can’t go wrong with that when 5 star hotels charge you $ 20 for wifi! ha.
