This is a «pop up» kitchen in the Red Velvet Café in downtown Columbus. On Friday nights the Bao brothers delight anyone who cares to try these wonderful little mouthfuls of heaven! Banh Mi is the Taiwan version of tacos crossed with dim sum — but only WAY better! Tonight’s selection was OG(choice of pork or pork belly) with fresh veggies like puckled carrots, Dikon and cucumbers in this fluffy steamed bun; or the Bun Me which had a slice of scrumptious chicken pâté and a variety of fresh veggies; and finally, but not in any way to be missed — the Angry Korean! This has slices of steak with a little bit of a spicy dressing with another assortment of veggies! I can hardly pick one over any of the other two! I will definitely be back as many Friday’s as I can manage!

Two dishes stood out for me: the Bun Me and Angry Korean. Left enough to be desired that I ordered a second of both of them! The chicken pâté in the BM was so tender and juicy. The white sauce(not sure what it consisted of) enhanced that sucker. The Angry Korean had sliced steak. Also tender. The pickled Daikon was the perfect touch. This one had a reddish colored sauce that was savory. Not spicy. **Wipes drool from chin**! Holy cow, I could eat these bad boys pretty much for the rest of my life! Raymon, the man cooking these bad boys, took the time to bring out our buns, chatted with us, friendly personality. It’s always awesome to meet the person who’s making the meal. I’d like to add to their comment box: Please open this pop-up inside the Pickerington Red Velvet location! …Hey, you can’t blame me for trying…
