Simply a chain Mexican restaurant. Average tasting food, typical décor. Full bar. Menu lacks imagination. Also a little noisy, even for this type of place. Probably would look for an alternative on my next trip.

The food was quite bad… The chip and salsa was plain; I ordered the el vaquero bowl with beef and vegetables, the beef was super dry and the vegetables (zucchini and peppers I guess) were charred… And it took a long time to get our food (almost half an hour), and it’s weirdly hard to get parking. Service was okay. The vibe seemed good though. Could be a good place for friends to hang out. It’s a pity that the food is so unpleasant. Will definitely not go again.

This place used to be amazing. Although my visit last night was far from. The server was friendly but slow. For some reason the food I received was different than what the menu said. Not sure how plain chicken wrapped in a shell and fried to death qualifies as Mexican? No cheese? No sauce? Our food was brought out to the table on a cart, some of it was about 3″ off the floor. I think management is seriously lacking, lazy, or incompetent.

Not good at all! If this is authentic I’ll take Taco Bell any day. Not fresh at all and They are overpriced. Avocado was black on top of salad. The core part of the salad, the part that gets thrown away, was in the salad. I gave two stars because the beer was cold, cold beer gets a star and I have another star because they were open when they said they would be. Seriously, I have no clue why they are open. Red flag if there aren’t ANY Spanish customers. Never going back.

Loved the table side guac making plus they made me shrimp tacos which aren’t even on the menu. Great service by Sarah with a smile! Food was yummy with quite a menu variety. Worth a visit when coming through Dublin, Ohio

Food was overpriced, disgusting, and they gave me a plate different from what I ordered. I asked for a chicken cheliqua or something like that, and I told the waitress that I only wanted the chicken and cheese and the bread or chips it came with. I made it clear I didn’t want anything else. 10 minutes later out came a plate with the cheliqua, then rice and salad and I was confused as to why they would give me extra stuff I said I didn’t want. The food was horrible. It’s the first time I can remember sitting at a restaurant and not finishing my food because of the taste. The chips were melted from the heat so you couldn’t really eat them, and the chicken and cheese were low grade quality. It was like $ 13 for that, plus the drink, tax, and my portion of the tip. Will never come here again.

I really like El Vaquero but this location is never good. We decided to try it again and my thoughts were just solidified. I would think that the food at every location would be the same, but it’s not. I always get the same thing, well mostly, a chicken tamale. This location can’t seem to do them right. The sauce was watered down and the tamale itself was bland. Way too much cheese was added which looked like they were trying to cover up the lack of flavor.
The service here was good, but I will not go back. Luckily there are more locations closer to home that are tasty.

The food was pretty good, somewhat authentic and the atmosphere was nice but the service was terrible. Our server was rude and disinterested in taking care of our table. As it got close to closing, they basically shut down the music and tossed us our check. There were quite a few people still there and we all felt uncomfortable finishing our meals with angry stares from the staff. This is reason enough not to return to this location.

No Bueno. Every time I come back, I get more and more disappointed. The food is not good! Rice is very dry and doesn’t have much favor. The only thing I enjoyed was the queso dip.

Good flavor, but be prepared, it’s all very hot-​spice wise. They didn’t seam to have mild salsa for the chips, but the shocking part was the children’s pizza. It was almost as spicy as Tabasco! Far too much for kids, especially when it wasn’t expected to be.
It’s pricier than most places that loud & relaxed, so it has a couple strikes against it. Attention to detail is lost when multiple people are trying to keep you satisfied. One brings the drinks, another one refilled them, from a pitcher, of a different variety. Side note, root beer weaves to Be root beer when it’s half refilled with diet coke. They were on top of the drinks though, so a quick fix… until the bill came. Then the crickets were out. Everyone disappeared. No one to take the credit card, or to address empty drinks then.
Good food though. Worth a second look now that we know what to expect.

My favorite Mexican place since moving here. Terry is a great waitress, very attentive and great service over all I love the ala carte menu and the food is very good and consistant and flavored just right. I go for early lunch and everything is fresh and not crowded!

Ugh. I’ve been burned twice now by the El Vaquero take out. Let me just say that I should know better. Your enchilada will get soggy, you never get enough salsa and don’t even try a tostada to go. Usually I am willing to accept the consequences because I figure it will still be amazing. Its probably not going to be though, really, its just going to be Ok. Taco bell might actually be a better option because at least you know they can handle takeout. So, the food at the restaurant might be pretty good, just know that you shouldn’t go for takeout in my opinion. Also, I really do love their salsa.

Went here for the first time tonight. Our server was not friendly or very helpful. I told her my order and she yelled out a number. My husband told her what he wanted and apparently should of just said the number because what came out was wrong.
The food wasn’t very good. It looked like it had been thrown on the plate. The food was no where near the description of what it was supposed to be. I highly doubt we will be back here.

I am not sure why anyone eats here, and believe me, people do. I know people who eat here enough to be regulars. Whatever floats your boat I guess, but Vaquero’s is not for me. I have been dragged here by work friends more than once, but enough is enough.
The food is grossly under-​seasoned to the point where the chicken tastes literally like nothing. I have tried several different dishes and none of them had any flavor. I once ordered a chimichanga and it was so small, I ate it in 2 or 3 bites. You always get tons of rice and unappealing looking refried beans though.
The service needs help too. I really wish the waiters would remember what I ordered and not just yell out numbers and expect me to know. 162… 162, is that me? I don’t remember, isn’t that the server’s job to give me the correct food that I ordered? During my last visit, I sat with an empty drink glass for the entire meal and was never asked for a refill.

The ambience was chill and relax. Nice look and feel.

Fast friendly service! Atmosphere is laid back staff is nice. Ordered the pork quesadilla and queso fundido as an appetizer. Both were delicious! I will be back next time we are up this way. Tons of mexican places in the columbus area but this one has been the best thus far

The el Morro special is amazing. Love that dish and all it’s flavor. The environment is great, I sat at the outdoor patio and it was peaceful. They have a drink where they mix beer, Tabasco and lime juice which is also amazing.

I wasn’t impressed with the food at all! I would much rather go to a more authentic Mexican restaurant and enjoy the food I order.
You can just tell it’s very commercialized and non-​authentic.

I agree with Linda, it has gone down hill. The big sign, when few cars are in the lot on a Saturday during lunchtime.
We were seated in a table that was too large. Chips are not what they used to be. The waiter got the order wrong, put onions on the nachos instead of the jalapeños, the kitchen didn’t bring out the dip ordered. I heard him yell at the kitchen? The issues with the food? I ordered a kids meal beef taco, the beef had large chopped green peppers and onions, if I had known that I would not have ordered it for my child from the kids meals. The rice had a white hair in it, small and curly. It never made it to my mouth because the table was so far away it fell off the fork on the way.
The guacamole dip was still on the bill?
I hate giving a bad review but I had too.
