Super dog friendly! Even brought out a water bowl for her. Great service. Great food! Very happy :)

Gresso’s is a super casual bar nestled a little bit past the Brewery District. As an alumni of Marshall University, I go to Gresso’s for game watching party – they’re a blast! The staff is always a lot of fun, and the customers are always entertaining. They have a fantastic patio area for those summer nights where you want to have a few beers. If you’re lookin’ for a casual bar to have a lot of fun with friends, Gresso’s is your place. Pierogis are delicious too!

I first went here to watch a football game and then later for a Unilocal event. I say inside at the bar for the football game. The bar is relatively long but there is not a whole lot of space to move around inside even though there is a lot of seating. The barista and owner were great and friendly and was very engaged in the game with us. We were even offered a few free shots during the game. The pizza was pretty standard but also good. On my second visit we sat on the front patio where they had live music and some corn hole. It was really busy! I consumed a strawberry margarita and one of their pierogies. I really wasn’t impressed with the margarita. The strawberry flavoring seemed very artificial. The pierogie on the other hand was so incredibly good with onions, mushrooms, cheese crumbles, and sour cream, YUM! I would go here again for the pierogies or for a special event.

This is a great spot to watch a game, especially if the weather is nice, when they have TVs and screens outside. We were here Wednesday evening during the NBA playoffs and were dismayed when we realized that it was trivia night and they wouldn’t have the sound on for the Cavs game. Our plan was to finish our beers and head out to find sound, but when our server realized this, they allowed us to go upstairs to the ‘closed’ upper level, got us a server willing to trudge up and down the stairs, and they put the game and sound on for us up there! The beer list could use some improvement(beer snob) but with that kind of service, I’ll be a regular! Thanks Gressos!

This is indeed a sports bar. I play in a spring softball league, so we always end up at Gresso’s on Thursdays after games. It’s a good spot for pizza and beer. The staff is super friendly, so that adds to the experience.

Went here for a networking event. We sat upstairs. The bartender was attentive and the space was nice for such an event. The food was very tasty! The sauce for their chicken is delicious. We had dips and pita, pierogis and pizza. Everyone enjoyed their meal. I would come back just for the chicken. Good beer selection and friendly people.

Waited well over an hour for food, then it was cold. My burger would have been really good if it wasn’t cold and cooked well done, I ordered medium. I was with four other people, all of which were also unhappy with what they ordered. Seemed like a fine place for drinks and watching the game but I wouldn’t go back for food.

This place is like a sports bar with the feeling of home, it has a nice energy inside. Service isn’t particularly fast, but they have a lot of beers on tap and 5 – 6 TVs you can watch in the bar area. We had an order of cheese sticks and they were huge and delicious. Also ordered a burger and fries which were good as well

Very recently, for some reason, I’ve been craving a serving of authentic, tasty pierogis! Unfortunately, **disclaimer** Columbus is still far-trailing in the Russian/Polish food category. Was just down the road, so when I saw Mikasa’s pic of these beauties from Gresso’s, supper choice was swiftly decided. Just at the start of Happy Hour, so I was able to get a parking spot behind this house(FYI, there’s only three specifically-designated slots, so be aware of other options!). Definitely love the big front patio. Too chilly to cop a squat, but mental note. Inside, the space screams«I am a home» simply because rooms are still separated. The bar is through a doorway to the left, right off the front foyer space. Head back out into the main hallway, and there’s a space that makes me think«formal front room». Pass that? Family room. Along the back? Space feels like it would have worked well for a kitchen. Plenty of seating, at any rate. Not very busy yet, so I decided to sit at the bar. Ethan, the bar manager on shift, was polite. Explained I was there for the potato pockets, nothing else, he put in my order and rang up my bill in no time. Nice — all I had to wait for was the food, and not worry about closing out my purchases. Not a long wait at all! Pierogis came out hot, soft potato/cheese mixture. The dough was soft and chewy. I crave shrooms, so the sautéed toppings were ice cream on my warm brownie! I liked these pierogis better than Hubbert’s because they were not hard do to overexposure/sitting out under a heat lamp. This was a great meal! I definitely want to try other things on Gresso’s menu. I like the relaxed, down to earth, atmosphere here. Looking forward to more visits.

The Greek salad here is delicious! The dressing is homemade and it comes with plenty of feta cheese. The staff is so sweet even if you are from the opposing team. But beware, they are HUGE Steelers fans in here so if you come in with an opponents jersey, be prepared for some backlash all in good fun. Nevertheless, we enjoyed the food and drinks and banter :)

Best bar food in Columbus! Great cheeseburgers. Gresso goes out of his way to make sure patrons have a great experience. One of my favorite places in Columbus.

This was my first time at Gresso’s. We had a fairly decent size group and was placed on their small out door patio. We asked for the fans to be turned on and that seemed to be ignored, and we asked for the tarp to roll up but that request seemed to be ignored as well, so we took it upon ourselves to put it up. When we were first seated the employees made no effort to clear the unused signs, that were blocking the walk way, so going in and out for us was an issue. As soon as we sat down they took down our drink orders, but neglected us in getting any menus till 10 minutes later. I took a walk to the restroom and saw a pile of menus. There was also a lack of utensils(5 forks and no knives and napkins to be seen) After we ordered, the first wave of food came 30 minutes later and my food and 2 other people’s didn’t even arrive till 20 minutes afterwards, even expressing that I needed my order out earlier since I had to leave the group, and being the first group of people to order food. They asked me if I wanted it to go; and I said no. and one of the waitresses told me they only had one chef working. When my food arrived, I asked to be rung out, and in response I was told to wait in a rude manner and then proceeded to talk to other guests across from us. When I did get my check and scarfing down my food, the waitress yelled at the other end of the table telling me to get my check… thus interrupting eating my late-arrived dish. when the whole time the waitress always made us pass our dishes and drinks. Overall in terms of customer service; it was horrible, and I am usually forgiving and understanding but the wait staff made no effort to be accommodating to us. Food: Food was great and so were the pierogies

This place is amazing! If you’re a Pittsburgh Steelers fan, or like the Walking Dead, this is the place to be. Gressos is the owner and is super friendly and so is the staff! Their jumbo wings are truly jumbo and super delicious. They have karaōke, corn hole, and an awesome front patio! Don’t drive by this place, go in and enjoy a drink and some delicious food!

My family came to Gresso’s for a Steelers game. It was our first time here and came here specifically because it was a Steelers bar. We sat outside on the side patio, the TV we had to watch through an indoor window was a little small. But the atmosphere was more than enough to make up for the small TV. The owners kept the crowd going and the energy up as the game progressed. Giving away prizes and just making it a really fun day for the game. We ordered the pierogies… delicious especially with the onions. I also ordered the Steel Curtain Burger which was served with coleslaw and french fries on the sandwich. It was different and quite tasty. Prices were reasonable and the server was great! Needless to say we loved it here and will be back for another game!

I’ve been here several times; most recently Tuesday this week. I love the location, the size of the restaurant, the patio, and the service. Their patio is one of the best in the area and they allow pooches! I used to be a fan of their menu– it was a big menu, lots of variety, small pizzas, flaming cheese, etc. They have changed it and don’t have nearly the selection. My favorite appetizer, the flaming cheese, is no longer offered. They also don’t offer a ham sandwich I used to get or individual pizzas. I was pretty bummed out about that. Overall, I like this place, but I feel the food selection has downsized and it was even the best of the old one. I’ll continue to support the place as I do love the patio and location.

I spent several nights at Gresso’s this summer as my girlfriend recently bought a condo in that area. No question, it is a top 5 patio in Columbus. It’s right off High Street — the patio is spacious and relatively clean and there is a nice display of decorative lights that dangle above the seating area which is a really picturesque touch on a warm, clear summer’s night. The staff is very friendly and attentive — and always greet us with an introductory handshake when first coming over to take our order. I only have two issues with Gresso’s and they are relatively minor. The first is that the food quality is not great. It’s average bar food at best(except for the trademark pierogis) but is pricey depending on what you order for what it is. So even though we don’t drink very much we end up spending close to $ 40 there just about every time. There is better food and drink — especially between 5 – 8 pm — for that price elsewhere in town. The menu offerings while average are diverse and the greek salad is a solid choice. The second issue is that smoking is allowed on the patio which can kill the experience if you happen to sit close by. Gresso’s has a half price pizza night but I can’t remember any other specials being promoted when we’ve been there. If you are a West Virginia, UC, or Pittsburgh Steelers fan, check out Gresso’s for a game watch as they host fans on game day for all those teams. For big events, like the Cavs NBA Finals Game 1, they put big screens on the patio. Overall though, I do love Gresso’s and it’s definitely a top-notch hangout.

The owner of this place is always very accommodating to me. I come here for almost every Florida State game, and even if the West Virginia game is on, he still finds a TV to put my ‘Noles on. Always very friendly service. Great food, good drinks and great prices. If you’re a Mountaineer fan, you will absolutely love this place, because the owner is a die-hard Mountaineer alumnus.

Oh Gresso’s…you know you got it! ;) Unfortunately, I was still sporting a bit of a hangover from the night before so I didn’t drink. I did try some food. Soup of the day was this brie and mushroom soup — so good. Had some perogies on the side — delish. Our opera signing, awesome server Antoinette informed us they had a sioux chef fresh in from NY — Dreama who had concocted this fab soup.(Must be a requirement to have cool and unusual names to work here.) Anyhow, I was equally impressed with Antoinette ’ s service and attitude and when she busted off belting that voice of hers, I was in love. So, this place is actually set up in an old house. There is tons of character and a great vibe. Everywhere I looked, everyone seemed to be just as happy to be there as I was!

I will start off by saying that I had intended on giving a lower rating but over the course of my visit my mood changed, and here’s why: service/atmosphere. I came here with a group for happy hour, and was a bit disappointed to find that they really don’t have much of one. They have $ 1 off of beer and mixed drinks, but no food specials. After I got over that, I ordered a few small things off of the menu. Some of my friends had pizza(pep and cheese), which I tried, and it was pretty good but a bit too heavy on the cheese. Those who ordered burgers and sandwiches seemed to enjoy their food. Their menu is your basic pub fare with a greek twist. Now, let me tell you about the service. Our waiter, Tyler, introduced himself by asking our names and shaking our hands. I felt like this was a little awkward at first, but he really came off as genuine. He remembered our names and called us by them all night! I would have thought this was kind of a gimmick, except that he was an excellent and attentive server. Mr. Gresso himself stopped by our table to check in, and bought a round of shots for us since one of our group had a birthday coming up! My overall impression of this place is that the owner and staff are truly focused on providing a great customer experience, which in itself is worth the visit.

I had the wonderful privilege to have my agency’s holiday party here recently. First of all, the place is HUGE. We had the whole upstairs to ourselves. Our menu was simple: salad, pita with hummus and spicy feta, pierogis and boneless wings. It was good, solid food. I especially loved the pierogis, which were perfect pillows of potato with sautéed onions and mushrooms. What really made our visit special was the staff. They were very friendly, accommodating and fun. The bartenders were super polite and really seemed like they liked their jobs. The feel of the place is like a huge home that has been turned into a bar. This relaxed atmosphere was the perfect place for us to have our party. Since it is the holiday season, everything was decorated up so prettily with lights and tinsel. Afterward we went down stairs and had a nice little happy hour. It was $ 1 off all drinks(minus wine). There were also other groups of people there, like teachers from various schools celebrating the end of term. There was a «Cheers» like atmosphere, that everyone there was friends, even if you weren’t. My coworkers and I had a great time and I would love to come back with my family when they are in town. The bar has a lot of team affiliations, but they have a true fondness for the Ohio Valley, my home area!
