JL Japanese Express

This place is delicious! We have been twice now and both times everything was wonderful. Very clean restaurant, even the restrooms. The food is so tummy and you get a lot for your money. I got the hibachi chicken and my husband got the hibachi steak. Staff is very friendly! Would definitely recommend!

So this is my update of this restaurant. Nothing much has changed. The flavors are still the same as well as the prices however the menus are a lot bigger. I do give them kudos because they do offer a healthier alternative some of the other to go restaurants in the area but that’s it. This place has some negative but it also has a lot of positives and a lot to build on. I would come again and I enjoyed my food here.

Just a nice little place when you are out shopping and want something to eat. Sushi was good and service was quick.

This place was very clean and not to pricey which is why I give two stars. But as far as taste goes… very bland and the way over loaded on the sauce. I won’t be back.

The food was great I had the steak and chicken dinner combo. The service was great the food was prepared quick. I have not tried the sushi yet but I am next time I go. It is a pretty good bit of food for the price.

Just finished eating lunch here and it was delicious! Had the spicy tuna and salmon roll and chicken fried rice. The sushi tasted fresh and I loved that it was bite size and not huge pieces! The chicken fried rice was good as well. The sauces they give you for the chicken fried rice isn’t all that great. Will be back for sure… fast, friendly service and yummy!

went here for lunch today based on reviews and because I have wanted sushi all week. Spicy tuna roll was not spicy, but tasted good. Rice was good. Veggies were cooked perfectly. I didn’t care for the chicken or the sauce on it, althougth the same sauce was on the veggies and it was fine. Fried rice was decent. Would go back to try other sushi rolls. I’d take my daughter and let her try a kid’s plate, too, since it’s only $ 5. Good food portioning for a lunch plate. Spent about $ 11 (w discount) for sushi roll and hibachi chicken meal. this is worth it for lunch and a second visit, but I think i might be disappointed for dinner, unless perhaps the portion was a dinner sized portion. Sometimes you don’t know with these places, the portion may be the same and different price only — for lunch and dinner.

If i had the hibachi again, i would ask for no sauce on my veggies and meat or get the veggie plate only. It was a slightly sweet sauce, so some might like it. I prefer savory foods.
the miso soup was much better than expected. had a nice amount of mushrooms and green onions in it and it was not too salty, like some chain places. Was perfect in light of the rainy weather.

The food is delicious! I really enjoy the sushi here, especially the J.L. roll. The atmosphere is nice, clean, and the staff is friendly.

I have been a regular customer since they first opened, and I absolutely love it! My favorite menu item is the house special hibachi. For only $ 11.95 for the dinner, you get salad, fried rice, vegetables, steak, shrimp, and chicken. It’s consistently good each time that I order it! If you’re only in the mood for fried rice and meat (s), try the yakimesi options. I recently tried the squid salad, and it’s a new favorite of mine. As far as sushi goes, the prices are great as well. I was actually skeptical about trying it at first because of the low prices, but I’m glad that I did. My favorite, no matter where I go, is always the Philadelphia rolls. Theirs are only $ 4.95 and awesome! The salmon is the smoked kind, which gives added flavor to the rolls. Absolutely delicious! A new favorite of mine is the dynamite roll. I tried it for the first time last night and immediately fell in love. This one is $ 10.95 for 8 pieces, but it’s worth it! Another plus is that they are open every day and don’t close until late. If you’re in the area, I would suggest giving them a try. You won’t be disappointed!

Paid $ 21 for 4 very TINY rolls. I could go somewhere else and get bigger rolls for that price. Spicey tuna roll was not spicey. Rice was over cooked. Will not go back.
