I enjoyed the chicken and also the biscuit will return again.

Read the reviews… wanted to see if this place really is «the best breakfast place in the world»… Tall order seeing as there are some really fantastic breakfast eateries if you travel much. Arrived around 745am, greeted and seated myself as instructed. Waitress quickly came and took drink order and brought a menu. I always get black coffee. eh…but I’m a snob(if you want good coffee in Columbus, go to iron bank and get a pour over)…so you can prob disregard coffee review. Ordered two eggs over medium, crispy bacon with grits and a biscuit. Everything except the eggs were fantastic. Really good biscuit and grits(which aren’t easy to make atypically) and bacon cooked to perfection… the eggs however… soaked in whatever oil they cook them in and over easy, not medium. A little picky? Yes… but that’s why there are different styles of egg… I like them not quite so oily and runny. just my take. Service was great. cool spot… everything else was really good, so I bumped from what would be a 3 to 4 stars. Check it out for yourself

The food is fabulous. I always get a chicken coop to split with my husband or whomever I am having brunch with. However, their service is HORRIBLE and their servers seem to be secure in their job because they’re not eager to please nor do they care if you’re happy with your experience.

Being one of Mark Jones’s restaurants I had to try it. Like pies and thighs I’ve been coming here for a while as well and it has to be one of the best breakfast joints in Columbus. I personally like how everything derives from biscuits but it doesn’t have that dry biscuit flavor. You can tell they are homemade and all of the effort that they put into their dishes are amazing. I personally like the biscuit beignets and the French toast. Recently I had the chicken and grits and it wasn’t oily or too dense. It was a nice light grits entrée that I love about the south. I always get the same thing when I go here but they are consistent and I’m sure that the sandwiches are just as good. Next time I go I’ll try something new. Sweet job Plucked Up!

I’ve been going to Plucked Up for about a year now with friends and family! My first few experiences were ok, nothing great. My last visit was amazing! Chelsea was always there when I needed her. I never had to search for her, and I appreciated that and I appreciate her! Thank you so much, Chelsea! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone! Sincerely, Alexandria

So disappointed! We went after the farmer’s market on Broadway. It was ok… but it didn’t live up to the reviews I had heard at work. The wait was longer than expected but i thought if the food is as good as I had heard, i do not mind. The coffee was weak and tasted as if the beans were stretched thin. The chicken tenders were good. The batter was tasty. They would have been excellent if 3 of my 5 pieces weren’t so over done. The grits were the best thing on my plate. The sweet biscuits were awesome. The service was okay. Patrons that were familiar to them got noticeably better service. I prefer other restaurants in this chain.

Decided to try this place on the way to Jury duty, and was pleasantly surprised by the server, food, and quick arrival of the food!!! I got the Cutbait biscuit and grits, first the grits were creamy and nice and hot, some of the best that I’ve had at a restaurant! The biscuit was huge and a meal all by itself! Overall great experience my only complaint was the acoustics it was very loud and it wasn’t even busy.

The food was absolutely wonderful. The service needs work. The waitresses were really rude. The bar area was not first come first serve. I watched while many who sat down once a seat was vacant asked to get up because the seats were for the waiting list. Maybe a sign out front would help people understand that the bar has to be seated while there is a wait. We were seated in the seats we were asked to get up from once they became vacant. I never saw any waitresses with smiles on their faces.

This place is absolutely delicious! Chicken and Biscuits are cooked to perfection! Had the plucked up and plucked it up with the cheddar grits and OJ. Solid meal for 7 bucks. Definite must try when around the downtown Columbus area

Adorable décor, excellent service. Food was great, we had The Chelsea, it was delicious. Chicken tenders, bacon, pimento cheese and pepper jelly in a wheat wrap, served with 1 side, we chose the cheesy grits, yum. Quick service, sweet, pretty waitress. Very reasonable. A hip, zany place to enjoy lunch. We are visiting the area as our soldier just finished basic training at Ft. Benning. Try this sweet spot, you won’t be disappointed.

Food was great. Had the chicken and Grits and husband had the Coop. Today I’m trying the biscuit and gravy. Yes I’m back a second day.

Yummy breakfast! I ordered the Country Fried steak and sausage and gravy biscuit with white cheddar grits. It was wonderful! They have many unique jellies. We tried blackberry mustard, sweet and light. Next trip I’m trying bacon jelly! Great fast and friendly service! Very eclectically, bright and funkily decorated. The only drawback that I noticed is that it’s relatively small. If it were busy you’d have quite a wait. We will be back!

OMG!!! This is one of the best breakfast places I’ve ever been to! Came here for breakfast while I was in town for a business meeting. I lived in Columbus for about 8 years, but moved away in 2010 — this place opened about 18 months ago. I saw all that to say that if this place was open when I was living there, I would have gained 20– 30 lbs from eating here every other day! The place has some interesting décor. I’m sure you can come to your own conclusions after you look at the photos people have posted. As for the menu — amaz-balls! The signature dish is the Chicken Coup — two biscuits with gravy, golden fried chicken, eggs(I prefer over easy) and some cheese on top. This is one of the best breakfast dishes I’ve ever had. If you are into healthy eating, please — stay away! This is total comfort food. The coffee was also very good and is served in a unique coffee mug, not some standard restaurant cup. The wait staff was great, the place was clean and spacious. The restaurant is located in downtown Columbus, so a short walk from many of the hotels in the area. This place is a must visit if you’re ever in the area. I know I’ll be coming here for breakfast from now on whenever I find myself in town.

3.5 stars(app won’t give that)… Fun(whimsical décor) place to go, always packed, friendly(and funny) staff, … but food is fair to good, not great. I’m still looking for the killer breakfast place in Columbus. Haven’t found it yet, but PUC&B does beat Ruth Ann’s and Egg & I. I will come back for biscuit sandwiches & friendly staff.

Came in for Breakfast and didn’t quite know what to expect. Very interesting wall décor but had me busy taking in everything as I was waiting on my food. Was immediately greeted and proceeded to order everything on the menu. How else am I going to know what’s good? So we ordered the Biscuit Beignets which were covered with Powder sugar and came with dipping sauce.. Ordered The Chicken Coop which was an open face egg(or 5) covered in chopped fried chicken and filled with Cheddar Cheese, bacon, sausage, gravy. It also comes with an over easy egg on top which I had fried hard. *Warning* Bring an appetite because it’s as big as a baby leg. OK. Bad analogy. Moving on. Ordered the French Toast biscuits which is exactly how it sounds. French Toast which are in biscuit form covered in powdered sugar and syrup which were amazing! Better than the Beignets. Trust me. Then we ordered The Cut Bait Burrito. Not a fan of the name but oh well. Tasted amazing. And I think I found the other baby leg. Whole wheat wrap with eggs, sausage, cheese and covered in sausage gravy and chow chow and they do not skimp on ANYTHING. Finally, I had to order a Biscuit Sandwich so I order The Arden. Fried Grit Cake, Greens, Fried Green Tomato and Chow Chow. Finished that quicker than anything. Biscuit was fluffy as a cloud. Service was great and food came out fresh and hot even though we ordered the whole kitchen. What can I say. I love breakfast. Great Breakfast/Lunch spot in Columbus.
