We visited at lunch, and prices were very reasonable. They had a $ 10 lunch menu, and my wife’s selection was large enough to bring home leftovers. I tried the Pineapple Chicken on the regular lunch menu for $ 12. Great presentation, and the chicken had the perfect amount of breading. The sauce was so good I even enjoyed the carrots, and that is rare for me. The meal is served in ½ of a pineapple, and I am sure that the lunch serving included at least ½ of a fresh pineapple.

Tai Tiki is great for cocktails! I would definitely come here for happy hour it seems like they have some great deals. The drinks presentation is top notch and they taste pretty awesome too! However the food just seemed average to me. I got the chiken in the pineapple and it tasted plain and I did not get any pineapple flavors from it. I was hoping for something a little more tropical and out of the box! I love tai’s on lane(same owners I believe) which is almost half the cost and similar food.

Ate here last night with a group of 8. The food was quite delicious. We were there for the restaurant week menu so that thankfully made ordering a bit easier. I’m not sure how I’d choose from the full length menu. I started with the shrimp mimosa since all of my friend were getting the tiki sampler or sushi. I was not disappointed. The flavors were amazing. We passed things around the table so luckily I was able to try all items but I would have been content with the mimosa alone. I went with the salmon for dinner and it was a bit over cooked for my taste but I just prefer my salmon medium rare. It wasn’t overcooked for those that were with me so I don’t want that to sound like I was unhappy, just personally picky. The seasonings and butter sauce on top were great. We all had the bread pudding for dessert and it was decadent to say the least. I was the only one to finish my plate. This restaurant did not disappoint. Can’t wait to go back.

I wanted to come since hearing great things about it. They have some really cool drinks. The Pina Passion is actually served in a pineapple. It’s a nice way to reuse those pineapple shells. They also had an unexpectedly good menu. It has a few vegetarian selections and others can be modified. I liked the tofu sliders. There is also mahi rolls with tofu. I can say I was impressed with this place. The meal was worth the price. They have so many fun looking drinks you can find something for everyone’s tastes.

Wow. This place was everything I hoped it would be. The tiki drinks were fun tasty and reasonably priced! I had the Piña Passion which was served in a pineapple. Yum! The tiki sampler was awesome. The Coconut Shrimp rocked and the crab rangoons were chocked full of crab. Eggrolls were good too. A little pricy but very tasty. The sashimi was some of the freshest that I have ever had. Very impressive for late on the Sunday after Christmas. The rolls were fantastic. The Aloha was my favorite. The one with pumpkin also had fried onions which was unexpected and paired perfectly with the cream cheese. I can’t wait to come back and try the other rolls and the fun drinks!

Not bad at all. The fact that it’s Polynesian cuisine caught my eye as it reminds me of Kahiki which was the bomb. The décor is that of a typical sushi restaurant and it didn’t have much Polynesian inspiration. The drink menu has lots of options but it doesn’t say what’s in any of the speciality drinks– when asked the waitress told us it’s rum with various juices. This annoyed me just because I like to know what’s in my drink… anyhow I got some tiki drink which was good and didn’t taste like alcohol(which I like), we also got mules which were great and the big sharable specialty drink which was more heavy on the alcohol but good(you get leid when you order this). We got the sampler appetizer which had seaweed salad(good) shrimp and crab cakes(can’t comment on those) and a chicken egg roll which wasn’t that great, the sweet dipping sauce was good but there wasn’t nearly enough of it for sharing. The menu had sushi and then chicken, seafood and beef options. The sushi was good but nothing outstanding and the chicken in mango sauce was tasty and reminded me more of Polynesian cuisine, it was served in a pineapple which I liked. I’d come back to try more of the non sushi items to see how the flavors are.

Very good food and a fun atmosphere! We really enjoyed our meal… The sushi roll we ordered the two in one spicy roll was very tasty but very spicy. All in all we enjoyed our experience there and appreciated that it was something a little different in downtown Columbus. Definitely a fun, unique option to consider.

The food is not bad, its just not worth the price point. The«crab cakes» appetizer is actually one crab cake, the«s» on the menu is misleading. It was pretty good, but expected more. Cocktails were average. If your used to a place like moutons or curio you’ll be disappointed. The don’t actually tell you what is in ½ the drinks, you just gauge by the name and«oh I think this has rum?». If the prices were better I would likely come back for another try. I guess you’re just paying for location though.

I had Tai Tiki for the first time for lunch. I had GrubHub deliver. I LOVE sushi and am always looking for new places to try. I ordered the Volcano roll and two pieces of Sake. The roll was HUGE! I normally get two rolls but I’m thankful I didn’t because I could barely finish the one. It had a great amount of spice but wasn’t too overwhelming. On GrubHub I was quoted a 60 – 70 minute delivery time, yet they arrived in 25 minutes!(I’m sure it helps to tip when paying in advance with a credit card). After reading the rave reviews, I will plan on going back for their Happy Hour and to try some new rolls. You will not be disappointed when eating there!

That’s it, I’m done exploring Columbus. Now that I’ve seen tai tiki I’ve seen all I needed to see. Came here with a friend, I got the Piña colada, which was pretty big but a bit strong for me. He got some passion drink served entirely in a full pineapple, then some other drink In a tiki head. All of them were delicious and presented in such a fun way. We split the crab puffs which were very good. I ordered the pineapple shrimp– it was served in a pineapple and my god it was amazing! And usually when you get a shrimp dish you get like 5 – 6 shrimp– no. This was loaded. My friend had one, I came home shared a few with my family, still had left overs. Huge amount of shrimp, definitely get your money’s worth. And the flavor was great, they were crispy and perfectly cooked too. My friend got the lemon caper salmon, I’m pretty picky with salmon. But this salmon was moist flaky and delectable. Very impressive. Our waitress, mel, was attentive kind and fun. She was very helpful when deciding what to order. They also have a great happy hour for both food and drinks on weeknights that extends till 7pm. The restaurant looked great and had a nice ambiance. Parking is easy on third. It’s a Good venue for a friend’s night out, a date, or even just to take yourself and get down with your tropical side. Seriously amazing, I’ve already planned my next evening back here! Update: Returned for a friends birthday during happy hour. ordered the piña colada virgin– that was unbelievably delicious! My friend felt hers was a bit too milky but I suppose that’s personal preference. –chicken egg rolls, very good. Comes in four big pieces, so it can easily be split. –Pad thai: Huge, enough for three meals. very good! –Hawaiian roll: covered in mango, very sweet but very good –Spicy Tuna roll: Disappointment, very spicy(which fine, whatever) but the tuna was like a purée mash? This is off my list of things to order here. –Coconut shrimp: The real gem. Much better than the crab puffs! These are the thin long stick like kind of shrimp, not the short flat butterfly kind. A good portion size to split too. Half off for happy hour too– get this!!! –Cheesecake: Big enough for four people to share. Comes with pineapple on the bottom! quite good.(We got this instead of the banana dessert sushi roll as it seems they changed their menu and the flaming sushi roll dessert was no longer behind offered.) The waiter advised us against the pineapple fried rice, he said its the only thing on the menu he wouldn’t recommend. Not that it’s bad but just that it’s simply fried rice. Thought I’d pass that tid-bit on. Also, It seemed to get a bit busy in here just after 7pm on a weeknight, so try to get here early if you don’t want a wait and don’t have a reservation!

I have no complaints when it comes to Tai Tiki. I celebrated my birthday here recently with a group of 7 friends and we all had a great time. Our reservation changed a couple of times and they were very accommodating. The drinks were super delicious and all came in cool glasses and mine even had a smoke feature. I ordered the Hawaiian pineapple chicken and it came in a halved pineapple! It was super tasty. I don’t like onions and they replaced my onions with carrots which was great! I also tried a side of sushi and their sushi was fresh and well-prepared. The restaurant itself is small and nicely decorated. There are leis on the table that you can wear if you so choose and the restaurant provides an intimate feel that is great for special occasions. Our server was very attentive and did a great job with recommendations. I hope to come back soon to try some other menu items.

Tai Tiki offers great sushi and fun drinks. The menu is diverse ranging from familiar items like Pad Thai to more unusual Asian fusion dishes. The happy-hour is one of the best in the Shorth North.

Sampler appetizer is highly recommended. Great egg rolls, crab wontons, and coconut shrimp. I had the shrimp pad Thai — pretty good in terms of flavor, has a kick. They give a lot of shrimp. Portion is huge for the price. $ 16 My coworker had a sushi roll — she said not as good as Kooma Service was friendly and fast.

One of the best happy hours in the city. The end. Well, not really the end but seriously, get here. Half off sushi/maki and great deals on their fancy drinks. I am not a fan of super sweet drinks but they have a nice selection for everyone. I had the cucumber gimlet and a blueberry mojito. Both very strong. They did not skimp on the alcohol for happy hour! I had a spicy salmon roll and the shrimp tempura roll. I will agree with Jillian. While both were good, I’m not sure they’re worthy of the full price. But definitely worth the happy hour price! The space itself is very clean and well-decorated. Restrooms were nice and clean. As for some of the other food and drinks that were ordered by our group, they were very creative. One entrée was served in a pineapple. A drink was served in a pineapple. A drink had dry ice that smoked while my friend drank it. All the gimmicks and just how I imagine that the Kahiki was when it was still open. So, please. If you enjoy a good happy hour deal and enjoy sushi, get here after work(or during work!).

We stopped in for drinks on a Saturday afternoon because it was hot and we wanted to sit down in the air conditioning. The staff could have been really annoyed with us, first because we were just having a couple drinks and not a meal, and second because we were pushing a stroller with a fussy baby, but they weren’t. In fact, they were incredibly accommodating and moved tables and chairs around what is somewhat of a tight fit to make our stroller fit. If you like tiki drinks, the list here is fantastic. There are both old school and new school tiki drinks, and both are pretty great. I had a crossed colada, which is anejo rum, pineapple, coconut, and lime. It didn’t taste terribly different from a traditional piña colada, but I’m not complaining about anything that tastes like a piña colada. My wife had a coconut lady. I’m not sure of all the ingredients, but it primarily featured coconut and gin. I think gin is a lovely spirit for a hot day, as it’s light and refreshing, and it was really a nice drink. The crispness of the gin balanced the sweetness of the coconut perfectly. There are plenty of drink discounts here, so keep an eye out for that, BTW. I’d like to stop back in sometime for a meal. It’s a very nice space with great service and fantastic drinks — even if the food weren’t great, there are still plenty of reasons to come have a good time.

ATTENTION: They have added the maki list to their happy hour deals! Drop what you are doing and get to this happy hour(assuming its Mon-Sat and 3−7pm)!! I met a group of 6 here for happy hour tonight, and we had a great time. Trevor was our server, and he was the perfect blend of snarky and helpful. He recommended drinks from the list, and was very attentive. We had a nice blend of sushi rolls — their maki list is half off! I really enjoyed the kabocha roll, and the spicy tuna was decent. I don’t know if it would be good enough for full price, but for the happy hour prices it was a steal. The coconut shrimp appetizer is so good! It’s super fun to get an elaborate cocktail here, as there are a few that have special presentations. One of the drinks is served in a hollowed out pineapple, and another had a core of dried ice in the middle, so it was SMOKING! I guess I’m a sucker for a good gimmick. Not only that, but the drinks were very strong! The zombie was pretty much a cup full of rum. The inside is tastefully decorated, with a lot of dark wood and fancy lighting fixtures. We were sitting near the patio area, and there is a retractable wall so that you can be inside but the breeze blows in. If I closed my eyes and took a sip of my rum drink, perhaps I could imagine I was actually somewhere in Polynesia.

Went here for happy hour with the girls last night. Was super excited to check out Tai Tiki simply for the cocktail menu. Happy hour is, I believe, Mon — Sat, 3:30 — 7. During happy hour their cocktails are $ 3 off, wine is ½ off by the glass, and they have select appetizers for $ 5. We ordered the crab puffs and coconut shrimp. Both were pretty good. I had the Mai Tai which was really strong and tasty. My friend had a Headhunter and she really liked that too. So, my socks weren’t knocked off or anything, but it was a fine time! I’d probably go back.

I’ve been eyeing this place ever since I saw the«coming soon» signage on the building. My mental image of «Polynesian Tiki Bar Grill and Sushi» was of a cheesy quasi-trendy theme restaurant a la Rainforest Café, so I was a little skeptical coming here. Anyway, I met up with Lea P. here on a rare free weeknight. It wasn’t terribly busy, and I found the ambiance to be surprisingly classy. Our waiter was nice(but he didn’t know how to pronounce«kabocha» either). I had the aforementioned kabocha roll, salmon nigiri(always my first choice for trying out a new sushi place) and sashimi roll(which is a slippery little thing wrapped in cucumber). Everything was tasty, but nothing was over-the-top-amazing(especially for the price). They do seem to have a $ 10 lunch special and happy hour M-Sat from 3 – 7(but no sushi deals during HH). I’ll likely be back since it’s just down the street from where I live, but you’re definitely paying for the High Street location.

Sorry to say that I cannot give it a 5 star rating I have been waiting(what seems like) forever for this place to open. I love the owner’s other columbus restaurant-Tais Asian Bistro– and simply could not wait for this upscale addition to the family! My boyfriend and I went for the«grand opening» event with free hors devours and a chance to win prizes. Sadly, didn’t see the prize entry but did get to sample some awesome, awesome sushi! Almost too much sushi since we weren’t very hungry-our waiter was a little on the pushy side. Aaaaand a little Captain Jack Sparrow-esque. We had awesome drinks and overall and needless to say, good service!!! We will be back to try food. Congrats on opening. Finally!

So I’ve been here three times during their soft opening and I would DEFINITELY recommend it to anyone craving sushi! The location is so convenient and the sushi is great.(Better than haiku) Most recently, I ordered a blue jacket roll and a Columbus Crew roll(both without cream cheese). I even asked for avocado on top of one of the rolls and everything came out fantastic. Grand opening is May 30th. Definitely Get here soon!
