Great food, wonderful espresso, friendly staff and the OJ is to die for. Calvin P approves. If I’m ever in the area again, I’ll be sure to come by.

If you’re in the mood for some great huevos rancheros, this is the place to go. Their baked goods are always pretty tasty, and the décor is friendly and rustic in the way that it doesn’t feel like they’re trying too hard. I think that the the place can be a little pricey, so if you’re trying to save a few bucks, try some place else. But if you have a group of hungry friends who are all wanting something a little different, Tasi should satisfy.

Tasi is slightly overrated. Cute décor, nice staff, good luck parking, hectic atmosphere(all day weekends and weekdays 11:30−1ish), easily forgettable food. For $$ it’s not my favorite. If you go, go on a weekday before or after the rush. Then it’s more like 4 stars.

Great place, fish tacos were awesome. Will definitely come back. No table service, but that’s ok. Everything cooked fresh to order.

What we liked– It was different — order first then pick a table! Similar to Panera, but a tad bit fancier. Dog themed table cards. Cutest touch for the dog lover! Ambiance — very hipster! Quick service based on how many people there were! What could have been improved– –Asked the waiter if something was vegetarian and he said he didn’t really know the menu. What? I’d prefer he’d just turn and ask someone rather than tell me he’s not familiar with it –Aioli — a bit bland. What we ordered– Huevos rancheros — 4⁄5. Boyfriend ordered these and enjoyed himself! Had a spicy kick and was slightly different than other restaurants which he liked. Caprese panini — would not recommend. Could barely taste the pesto and it was very bland! Bread wasn’t impressive either. Comes with a salad. Fries with parmesan and crushed pepper — 3⁄5. If you’re craving fries, it does the job. Or if you’re hungover. The cheese doesn’t stick to the fries so I ended up with piles of cheese and pepper at the bottom of my plate. Womp. Iced coffee — yummy! But if you want milk in your coffee, make sure you specify. Mocha latte — 4⁄5 by the boyfriend. Strong mocha flavor and very frothy which made it thoroughly enjoyable! Notes– We waited in line for about 30 minutes and the line was consistently long during the duration of our stay! I’d recommend coming in prior to starvation status like we did!

I would explain my experience here as just average. We went on a Sunday morning, and it took about 20 minutes to order and another 15 to get the food. We ordered the French Toast, Farmers Omelette, and the potato cakes. The french toast was definitely my favorite one, and was very delicious. The farmers omelette had a very odd taste to it and I did not care for that at all. The potato cakes were decent, but they came out cold and kinda mushy. I wanted to like this place more than I did, but it just didn’t really meet my expectations.

Had the poached(although I ordered them scrambled) eggs with black bean patty and jalapeño butter sauce. YUM!!! Not spicy ATALL but delicious nonetheless. The salted tomatoes brought the dish to another level. I was very happy with this dish!

The poached eggs and black bean cakes were phenomenal! We had to wait a while to be seated, it gets crowded for Sunday brunch and there isn’t a lot of seating. You order and then get seated.

I’ve been wanting to go to Tasi for quite sometime now. I have nothing bad to say about this place! The food was delicious and sooo many options. If you’re looking for a place with fresh breakfast and lunch options this is it. As you walk in you order at the counter then pick a seat. Also great for takeout. Service is very fast! The staff here is so nice and helpful if you’re new to the place highly recommend!

We visited Tasi around 10:30 on a Sunday which was perfect timing… while we were standing in line, near 15 – 20 other people came in right after us. The menu sounded great. We ordered our food and(luckily) found a table that we shared with another family. I could tell seating was an issue… and they clearly know that because there is a sign above the menu that says to not save seats before you order. We waited a good around 30 – 40 minutes to get our food. Disappointing because we saw people who ordered after us get their food before us. Finally get our meal. I got the farmers omelette which was tasty but the sausage was WAY overcooked. It was so tough and dry. I got the orange juice and my boyfriend got coffee… he had to drink decaf instead of regular because they were out. Orange juice seemed fresh and I loved it. Another aspect that we didn’t care for was the music. It was loud for 10:30AM and it did not compliment the atmosphere at all. Playing hip-hop/rap combo is not ideal for breakfast, or any restaurant. Parking was not the best. We searched for a good ten minutes before finding a spot. May try this place again as I’ve heard great things but unfortunately my experience did not match.

I have officially tried everything on their breakfast menu. My favorite is the French toast it is the perfect amount of sweet, and the bread is just moist enough. On the lighter side I like the poached eggs or the breakfast burrito in a bowl!

Came here on a weekend morning at just the right time! Got there a little before 11:00am and found a seat immediately, barely missing the huge line that trickled in right after us. The place was very small, but quaint and had varied sized tables scattered throughout as well as a countertop area. I appreciated their adorable little self-serve water station with beautiful glasses, ice bucket, and fresh lemon slices. The menu was pretty big, having everything from their eclectic breakfast entrees, coffees and teas, to pastries, to lunch and dinner entrees. I ordered the poached eggs and black bean cakes that came with sourdough slices and LOVED it! Ingredients were very fresh and pretty healthy while having lots of flavor. It was also a pretty big portion, I was not able to finish it all. My boyfriend got the breakfast burrito and enjoyed his meal as well. I stole a couple bites of his home-fries. so good. I also ordered a café au lait and it was also delicious. Definitely worth trying among the other awesome breakfast joints in the area.

Loved this place! The vibe the service and the easiness ! The only thing that I didn’t like it was the way they served the huevos rancheros without the beans!(I love a traditional recipe) Try poached eggs with been cake and the 3 amigos cubanos sandwich! That’s really delicious!!!

We came almost by mistake; I had forgotten I’d been here, and if I’d read my own review… The food was good again. The service was a little better. The space suffers from the same issues of minimal comfort and space, and maximum noise. I blame the design. It looks cool, but seriously, it’s cramped and acoustically awful. Sweetie got pancakes and the hyped«sweet and spicy» bacon. It was just bacon. Nothing special like, for example, Katalina’s. The pancakes were good, but not amazing. We both had orange juice, which didn’t taste any better than fancy bottled varieties; I can’t confirm that it is fresh squeezed. Also, it was in a silly little glass that made me worry if I’d have enough. My huevos rancheros were pretty darn good. A different take on a classic, with beans in a layer between the tortillas. A very good salsa and good eggs. All in all I liked mine, she was not impressed with hers, and the combination of high prices, noise, iffy service, and far too much hipsterism meant we will not be back any time soon. Yes, it is the Short North so you can’t blame them for the hipsters, except that this place seems designed to draw them in. Plus awful parking which, hey, if you live nearby and can walk, cool. But though the food is good it is not amazing enough to put up with the hassle and annoyances.

Wow ! Their melt in your mouth black bean cake is really tasty and perfectly seasoned. I ordered black bean cake w/poached egg and potato latkes. The cooked their poached egg perfectly and it arrived warm. Drew the Manager has awesome and humble personality. I like the atmosphere here but this place is packed when I arrived. You might want to arrive earlier before 11 am if you are up for breakfast here, this place filled up quick.

I went here a while ago and only now did I remember to write a review but ALAS, here it is. Tasi was amazing. If you love finding little spots in the crevices of the world… the unknown gems… this is for you. I had a roast beef sandwich with a side salad and self-serve coffee and it was delicious. No wonder I heard it was always packed. This was probably my worst out-of-mind, out-of-sight mistakes ever. Definitely head over there if you haven’t been, but pick your time wisely as I’ve heard through the grapevine this place ends up having a line go out the door. Now I understand the delicious madness that is Tasi.

This is always a treat for me because there is so little parking and I’m horrible at parallel parking so I always make someone else do the driving. Due to the parking and the size of the space it’s not a great place for large groups unless they are willing to not be seated together. Everything I’ve had has been good. Mostly I’ve had french toast, pancakes, and sandwiches.

Ugh… Where do I begin?! You HAVE to try this place! It’s a must! Came here for the first time after reading the reviews, and let me tell you, Unilocalers aren’t lying! I had the Steak Skillet which was amazing. Lots of fresh flavor, awesome combination of tasteful items! My GF had the Huevos Rancheros which is one of their best known dishes and it didn’t disappoint! Definitely THE best I’ve ever tried so far(and I’ve tried quite a few)! Service is very nice, coffee & sides selection is also amazing. We tried one of the Pumpkin + Walnut Scones — Delicious! We will definitely come back soon!

I am absolutely disappointed in this establishment. My friend and I came on a super rainy day, and got lucky with one of the four parking spots they had in the back.(Good luck with parking because there basically is none around the area.) We head in, it’s crowded. It’s loud. There aren’t enough seats it seems in the restaurant to accommodate the crowds they bring in. Because of the noise, the person taking my friend’s order mishears her TWICE, charges her for the wrong items, resulting in friend paying double for something she didn’t even request. They try to «fix» it, but still ultimately skimp her of money. Plus, she got a ton of attitude from the person ringing her up. At this point, I’m just hoping the food is good… I shouldn’t have had high hopes. I shouldn’t have fallen for the rage around this place. We both ordered the Cinnamon French Toast with Bananas and Pure Maple Syrup. It takes a while for it to come out, and when it does, it just looks AND tastes all wrong. Both of our meals don’t taste all the way cooked. Everything’s completely soggy because it’s drenched in maple syrup, making it ridiculously sweet for anyone’s liking. AND I don’t want to feel like I’m eating mushy baby food. I ordered french toast WITH maple syrup – not french toast maple syrup SOUP! Just because you have a line of customers out the door, it doesn’t mean your quality in food and service should have to drop!

This place is always consistent and I don’t think I have ordered something that wasn’t delicious and filling. On my slow exploration of the Short North I made my way here one morning in September and the menu was extensive for what I expect for Breakfast and Brunch. I can’t speak to the attitude of the employees and struggles with limited seating because I only take myself and one other person usually when I visit. I do remember having a funny conversation with a employee that has a Pokemon tattoo because he noticed my Pikachu pin on my computer bag. I’ve tried the — Huevos Rancheros with Queso Fresco and Black Bean Tortilla, — Poached Eggs with Black Bean Cake and Jalapeño Butter Sauce, — House Smoked Salmon Bagel, Red Onion and Sliced Tomato, — Cubano, Roast Pork, Pickled Veggies, Mozzarella, Bolivian Salsa, Sourdough Panino. Each dish had a great flavor and the quality of the ingredients was apparent, I haven’t been back in a while but I want to take a few more people so I can explore more of the menu items.
