My review is specifically for the coyote pastry(thingy). SOFREAKINGGOOD. If you are into pie crust-like, brown sugary sweetness, get one and dig in. You’re welcome.

I wish I was able to come by this place more often. I had a temp job that lasted all of two days near here and my GOD everything in here was great. I liked the melon bread, they sold well made manju; this was a great collection of Japanese and French pastry. I need to get another temp job round there again just to justify going back. Anyone hiring? :D

First time here I was having an emo day and in desperate need of chocolate! I would’ve settled for Safeway bakery goodies but my guy saw this place so we popped in. At first I wasn’t so sure I wanted to go in, but I’m so glad we did! The place: wide open and welcoming. There were patrons, but it wasn’t crowded. We got our items to go but I have to agree with another Unilocaler that it does have a bit of a cafeteria feel to it. The selection was full of things I’ve never seen or heard of and I considered asking for tasters, but I didn’t…maybe next time. The best part was later in the evening at home when I tried the decedent morsels! Omg! The Mozart is to die for! I cant wait to get another one! And the tiramisu cup was perfect. Not too sweet like most are… and now I have a little cup for grand baby. :) I have no idea what the other 3 things were, but we enjoyed everything and the prices were great too! We only spent like $ 20. We can’t wait to return and dine in.

I really like this place! They have sweet pastries but they also have savory pastries(with cheese, meat, onions, etc.) which are so delicious! They definitely have unique goodies that are really yummy, but they also have the classic favorites like cupcakes, parfaits, macaroons, cookies, and cakes. It’s hard going in and getting just one thing because there’s tons to choose from. Big open space with plenty of seating, friendly service, and very clean! My 3 yr old loves looking through the bakery window and seeing the«chefs» at work.

Cute little gem… I love cafes like these. Don’t let the strip mall plaza look fool you. This is a very elegant, clean place filled with fresh delicious treats and drinks. Nice staff too

After staying in Concord for a few days, I discovered this little gem. They have a fun selection for their bakery. I’ve tried their French toast, cranberry basil bread, and macarons(yum!). The coffee could be better but their service is pretty good. I think someone tried to stop me on my way out bc she thought I stole a pair of tongs, but then she saw that I didn’t have anything so she was like, «Oh, um, have a good day!» Lol!!! It’s okay though, I totally understand.

So at first I wasn’t sure if I want it to go here… Every weekend I try to go to a different café. The name of this one made me think classy. But when I pulled up and saw all the handwritten signs I almost drove off because I was thinking probably not the best café something about it turned me off… That might’ve came off as if I’m some kind of a snob and sometimes I like to pretend I am but I really am not. Was just looking for a very classy joint. But I walked in anyways… And I’m so glad I did. I find the set up to be very interesting you grab a tray and a pair tongs and you go down a line and serve yourself what kind of baked goods you would like. Many different breads that I’ve never heard of, and some interesting hotdog wraps. In between all that were some very beautiful looking savory and sweet danishes. I grab the cheesy onion bake, and a custard fruit danish. They also have a little section of prewrapped cakes and different kinds of breads. Then you go to the counter and find a wonderful selection of cakes cupcakes and macaroons. The man who helped us, was a sweetheart, grab three macaroons which I have not tried yet but they do look amazing! Wonderful selection of coffees and they know how to do espresso perfectly! For those of you that read a lot of my Unilocal know I’m picky when it comes to my shots of espresso over ice. It was absolutely perfect he knew exactly what I wanted, the white mocha we got as well was very good! And I hate white mochas, but I would definitely order that again! I will definitely be coming to this place more often only 15 minutes from my house definitely worth the drive!

I have very mixed feelings about this place. THEGOOD: They have a very wide variety of baked goods. I had a basil cranberry roll which was quite good. Additionally they have a breakfast menu and a large kitchen, so if you’re hungry this could be a good choice for breakfast. The cup of coffee I had was very good. THEBAD: In my case the service was poor. The only other customer in the place was a beautiful blond, who got quick service from the guy behind the counter. But after she walked away with her juice drink and pastry the same guy told me «I’ll be right with you» then he proceeded to futz around with one of the coffee making machines for the next few minutes instead of taking my order(funny how he didn’t need to fix that coffee machine when SHE was at the counter!). Eventually a nice young woman came from the back, saw I was stranded, and finally took my order. He obviously didn’t need to be doing that(it wasn’t for her and there were no other customers) when he could have helped me, so I took a star off for that rudeness. Also the atmosphere in the place is kind of stark. Its a large room with rows of wooden tables with wooden chairs, white-paint-brightly-lit room, no sort of cozy feeling to it, sort of feels more like a cafeteria than a quaint little french bakery bistro sort of place. For the same reason though it would be a good place if you have a large group of people. BOTTOMLINE: As with any review this is just my opinion for what I prefer in a café. But I was turned off by the poor service. They do have a lot of great reviews, and the variety of baked goods is large, so if you’re curious give them a try, maybe you’ll have a better experience.

Bonjour is a novelty bakery with a wide assortment of pastries, specialty cakes, and gourmet breads, located near Concord’s Park and Shop Plaza. There’s an abundant parking and plenty of seating, with a nice ambiance(pleasant, not freezing, AC + quiet, non-intrusive music). Overall: amazing! They have such a nice variety. Each pastry is placed in a neat, buffet-style container with a lid, so nothing is exposed to the outside environment. There are trays and thongs everyone is welcome to use to customize their stay-in or to-go platter. In the middle of the café, there’s an isle with to-go friendly packages of breads, cookies and snacks, conveniently wrapped for easy transportation. Those little baggies would make a nice hostess gift. The café menu also offers full espresso bar, as well as smoothies and tea drinks. The Goods: I chose a Tiramisu and almond milk latte for breakfast and 2 versions of a Danish + an espresso cake to go. My friend ordered an egg tart, an americano and a couple of brownies to go. Tiramisu: 4 stars. Soft and rich, although there was whipped cream(?) used as a main filler. Danish: 5 stars — Delicious + beautifully decorated! Egg tart: 4.5 stars. Soft and creamy, with a slight nutty flavor. Espresso cake: 5+++ stars! Super soft, rich, aromatic, delicious, coffee-flavored goodness! Overall: the place is very clean and neat and the employees are super friendly and nice! They gave me their biggest slice of cake and decorated my almond latte with 3 tiny hearts. Thank you for making downtown Concord more exciting! Will be coming back!

Great atmosphere with plenty of seating. The workers are friendly and their coffee is pretty good. What I really like are their sweets! There’s just too many to mention but the ones that I’ve tasted has been incredibly good. I’ve been to this place about 3 – 4 times one of which were meeting through Skype. Great find for us and it has become a local place to hangout when we’re in the area.

I found out that my brain absorbs more information when I’m surrounded by food! So I come her to cram for exams. Hahaha! They have wide selections of pastries and cakes. I specially like this pastry that has potatoes inside. Sounds weird right! I got curious one time and tried it, it was so good! Pair it with green tea lemonade with blueberry syrup… Heaven! So far all of the pastries I’ve tried were very good. I’ve tried some of their cakes and it’s equally good, tiramisu in particular. I love their teas that you can flavor with mango, strawberry, blueberry etch. The servers/baristas are very nice and friendly. They greet you when you enter and when you leave! I feel special! Hahaha! They have free wi-fi. Accepts charge cards. Ample parking both for cars and bikes. Clean restrooms. Best of all, they let you stay as long as you want. I study here for hours and I don’t feel a slight bit of intimidation to leave.

TL;DR: Great pastries, kinda pricey. This place is surprisingly big for a spot in Park & Shop. There are a lot of tables which makes it a great place to study. The variety of pastries is quite extensive, ranging from breads to cupcakes. Of course I had to try the melon bread; there were 2 left that afternoon. The melon bun was huge and pillowy. There was a strong honeydew flavor and there was pillowy melon cream in the middle. I can see why it’s so popular! I’d definitely try the strawberry bun the next time. We also got a mocha bun, that one was significantly larger than the other ones, but one of the cheaper buns. The outside had a sugary crust that had a light hint of coffee and chocolate. The inside was chocolate coffee flavored and very moist. Also a good pick! For a savory choice, we decided on the potato bread wrapped in bacon. Don’t be fooled by the size, that thing is dense! Basically a potato filled bread with bacon on the outside. Very good, definitely split it with someone if you’re sharing pastries. We also opted to try the Vietnamese iced coffee. It was kinda meh. We got it in 2 minutes, meaning they probably mixed plain coffee with condensed milk and called it a day. It was $ 4 and I don’t suggest getting one. Maybe a smoothie. I must also add that the customer service is fantastic; everyone there is so friendly and willing to answer questions. This place is cute and the pastries are tasty, it’s just a bit pricey for Concord, especially with the throngs of panaderías in the area. I feel like it would do better somewhere else like downtown Walnut Creek. We’ll see how it holds up. It’s a unique shop for the area.

Bonjour bonjour indeed! It’s hard walking by this place and not turning around to just check it out. I successfully come by this spot twice without going in, but man, my interest was piqued and I mentally bookmarked this place in my head. The smell is too strong, to tantalizing, too good to ignore. Let’s quickly go through the basics. Lots of seating! Room is bright and pretty! Plenty of parking! Good music! They got a microwave and oven to heat up your purchased food! The way it goes is you serve yourself. Grab a tray and tong. Carefully use your tong to grab whatever goodie you want and put int on your tray. Bring the tray to the cashier, and pay. Now if you want to take your pastries home, they package them up for you. If you want to have it for here, they’ll just leave it on the tray for you to have easy access to the food. There’s so much to choose. We’ve got prepackaged bundles of cookies, bread, and the like. Then we got the ones in their own little section, not wrapped, and smelling so good. What was I to do? My wide eyes went from one thing to another with such happiness. There were macaroons, cupcakes, danishes, cookies, cakes, toast with a sunny side up egg on them, a cream cheese bread, garlic bread, and so much more. It was a pastry heaven! Nothing looked old too. Everything looked so pretty and so new. Each item had their own unique smell that beckoned you to try it. I ended up choosing something that almost looked like a donut. To my surprise, it was in fact just a Danish. It was this Twisted Sugar Danish. It was so beautiful. An almost golden brown in color, sugar clearly all over it, and it looked so amazing. Ripping a piece off was so easy. It was soft and warm. I put it in my mouth and it just brought such a sensation to me. It had the texture of a Danish, but the sweetness of a donut. It’s absolutely the best pastry I’ve had so far in my life. I didn’t just eat it piece by piece. No, I consumed it. Not even a minute passed and it was gone. Oh! I went to take a photo of my snack, and the cashier teased me saying, «Ah yes. Can’t forget the photo!» We had such a good laugh! I said, «It’s too pretty not to photograph.» That’s the kind of service I like. I don’t just want someone to be efficient. I want someone that will interact with me, and the woman that helped me did just that. Come by for the pastries. Come by for the people. Come on by and maybe we’ll gush over it together!

I came here because I was headed to diablo rock gym and saw that there was a Korean bakery nearby. I love Korean bakeries because they have a lot larger variety of stuff than Chinese /Taiwanese bakeries. This bakery is massive. It is located next to an ayce kbbq /sushi place as well. The selection of breads here are amazing, they are always coming out with new delicious breads. The melon bread here is A+. The spinach cream cheese bread here is freaking delicious after sticking it back in the toaster oven. I also tried their coffee espresso cake, spicy sausage mustard bread, onion cheese bread, and many others. I have yet to try their coffee drinks, my friend had their Viet coffee though and apparently they did not make that the correct way. The breads here are a bit more expensive than usual $ 3– $ 6 but I think it’s worth it since they are huge and dense.

This places smells so yummy and it’s super relaxing. It’s quiet, plenty of seating and power outlets available to use your laptop. This bakery is huge with a lot of different options and everything looked fresh. At the counter they offered coffee, lattes, shaved ice and a few different items. Anyways we only came in for a treat and we settled with macaroons. They had plenty of flavors to choose from and we choose strawberry, mango, mocha and chocolate. We loved them because they were a bit bigger than. The normal ones you get at other bakeries and they had a lot more filling.

My mom and I came here out of curiosity — mostly because of the lovely smell of onions led us in haha. I thought it was pretty cool how you get your tray and just pick out the breads that you want — kind of like a buffet! We mostly got the long breads that had a lot of cheese and onions on them and some had ham and scallions. As far as the sweets, we took home a couple of macarons and a pack of mini cupcakes without the frosting. The breads were the delicious. The macarons however, we have had better. The cupcakes kind of tasted greasy and the green tea flavoring in both the macaron and cupcakes just didn’t taste right.

They have an interesting selection of goodies. Their quality is good. But I have found only one item that I really like there. It is a cheese and caramelized onion tart like thing. I don’t recall its official name but it is absolutely amazing. They have a good selection of French Macaroons. I will definitely go back to try more of there baked goods. And they have a nice drink menu that I would like to check out.

Their isn’t much to say besides come in and give this place a try. Reminds me of some of the hidden Chinese bakeries in SF. I enjoyed the green tea macron alllllot. If ur trying to loose a few pounds I wouldn’t recommend this place. They have sweet parties that include apple/pecan tarts, macha buns and a bazillion others. And they don’t shy away from the breakfast pastries which are toped with green onion, ham and cheese. Lastly the customer service is excellent. I swear every time I go in there is an older employee who offers me samples galore. Just go gosh.

Upon hearing this place open up, I admit I was a bit skeptical. Having lived in the OC for the past 4 years, I’ve been spoiled with the best French-Korean bakeries and good stores(85 Degrees), that another knock-off of an Asian bakery seemed hard to impress… But, I have to admit, this place is pretty decent. It’s located in the huge food and shopping mart plaza in Concord, alongside a variety of other Asian eats, so this place fits right in. Seeing to it that this side of the East Bay doesn’t have a lot of Asian-inspired bakeries or cafes around, it’s nice to have this place here. First things first: the floor plan is HUGE for this place. They call it a café and they have a bit too much space than necessary for tables and chairs and lounging, and they have their baked goods spread across the walls, a big counter for cool goods and an espresso bar, and I believe the bakery at the back.(I’m not sure what they can do to fill all that space!) I wanted to try something small. And something savory(not sweet, God forbid my sweet tooth), and stumbled on their Mixed Veggie Danish. It turns out it had ham slices in it as well, but it tasted very much like a soft pizza on a thin, sweet bakery bread. Lots of cheese and veggie flavor. I also decided to try their Basil Cranberry bread, which the lady suggested for me to warm up. The cranberries in it basically taste like little tomatoes in the grander scheme of things, so it was almost like a long soft pizza slice again. Still, very tasty with reasonable pricing from $ 2-$ 4. They have a water station, utensils, microwaves and a toaster ready to be used… I suppose they want to make it into some sort of café where people can hang out. It’s a nice space, very spacious, with decent eats. I didn’t fall in love as I’ve definitely had better(and they aren’t crazy busy, or are constantly baking new goods), but it’s decent. I could see myself coming back if I’m craving bread… But, who knows how often that’ll be! Not a place I’d typically become a regular or go out of my way for.

So taking a little break from work for me to finally get some kind of sustenance ie boba at Quickly and was surprised that BonJour Bakery was finally open! Well going in the place was pretty spacious with lots of seating. The layout reminded me a bit of Paris Baguette but the baked goodies were in their own little plastic covered area which is nice. Similar to many asian pastry places, you grab a tray and tongs, but one downside to this place is that the butcher paper you place on top is already preplaced which means you’re trusting that the bottom of these trays are clean. Well what can you find? Very similar to many Korean pastry places. You can get breads both sweet and savory, loafs, donuts, cookies, cakes, etc. They also have macarons and drinks! I forgot to take a photo of the menu but one that caught my eye was that they had Vietnamese iced coffee. I’ll have to come back and try it. Well there were many items I really wanted to try but had to put some restraint on myself. I picked out two which stood out which were the melon bread(I love melon bread esp. from Japan) and the macaron cream cheese bread cause it looked crunchy! So what do I think of it? ~Melon bread~ It smells like melon(ie honeydew, cantaloupe) and the filling was very fragrant and plentiful! So much weight from just the cream. One downside was that I was expecting more of a crunch on the top but the bread was chewy and fluffy which was good. The price was a little less than $ 3. ~Macaron Cream Cheese~ As suspected the top is basically almond flour, sugar batter that you use when making macarons and had a nice sweetness and crunch which helped offset the chew of the bread and the saltiness of the cream cheese. It had all the texture and flavor components that I liked to give it a nice balance. The price was a little less than $ 4. The staff is still learning the cash register and I’m sure they’ll work out the kinks soon, but I’m going to be definitely back as my boyfriend has stated«it’s better than Paris Baguette and a good change from 85 degrees» *gasp* No he didn’t! Good thing this is far so that we don’t exhaust ourselves from it kind of like 85 degrees. Looking to explore the rest of the pastries and get that coffee! I’m sure soon enough this place will be packed… oh wait… maybe I should stop raving about it… darn it.
