I don’t usually do reviews but this place was amazing There were 4 in our party and we all had different meals. We all were very pleased with our choices. I also consider myself to be a foodie so I am very fussy. The plating was all beautifully done. The chef came over to our table and asked how everything was. I love when a restaurant does that. To me it means they care about what they are serving. We could not believe that there were only a few people there. We all feel that it is a true hidden treasure. You should give them a try.

As a fluke, we ended up eating at EJs at the Holiday Inn tonight in Concord NH. The Steak Frite salad is delish as are many of their dishes. It is a quiet restaurant and reasonable prices. I would say one of the better restaurants in town. If you are ever in Concord, don’t dismiss it. Plus, it is open on Sundays when most other restaurants are closed.

The salmon with creamy risotto is great. Would return for it when in NH. Very inexpensive and the hotel stay gives you an additional discount with a paper slip. Regular brick oven pizza look. Good staff. Relaxed atmosphere.

I stayed for a week at the Holiday Inn, which this restaurant is connected to. I ate breakfast there twice because it was convenient. They must have a large turn-around at this restaurant, because two of the people I had were totally new and inexperienced. The breakfast buffet was institutional standard. I had to ask for serving spoons to be put out for some items after they’d already been open for an hour. The windows looked like they hadn’t been cleaned since winter. The waitress(new) mixed up my card with another table, charging me for his ticket. Coffee was fine. The cut fresh fruit was fine. The yogurt was a good brand. Otherwise, there are better option in this town. Some within easy walking distance. Best thing I can say is that I didn’t get sick, and it was convenient before I found better choices in the neighborhood.

I had a deal from Living Social for this place. I didn’t have high expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised. We only ordered burgers, but they were cooked exactly how we ordered and were very good. The service was good and the the meals were reasonably priced. I will definitely go back.

Don’t bother. Meals were just okay(short ribs were dry, haddock was meh, root veggies were undercooked). Service was a little subpar(waitress was dealing with only 4 tables but forgot to apply our coupon). With all the choices in the area, we won’t be back…

Ugh! Despite all the glowing references, I’ve had better pizza for a brick oven place! Either they need a new cook or they need to train the ones they have better, to use less oil! And to try and make the pizza dough thinner! Two stars because they were the only place open, and we were staying at the Holiday inn! So because we were late walk ins, they still catered to us, but the food definitely needs a lot of work!!!

This place was so good!!! I got the autumn brick-oven which is to die for!!! All there food is made from scratch which you cant find that really anywhere in concord. The service was excellent and there was no wait. The bar had a wonderful view of the tv and drinks were reasonably priced. I will definitely go back!!!

I should have checked out the reviews on here prior to going. Ejs is part of NH restaurant week this year. They have a fixed menu for $ 25pp for the event. There was a choice of 2 soups or 2 salads to start, then either steak or salmon. For dessert it was a lemon dessert or chocolate mousse We decided to give them a try. We went on a Friday night and had no trouble getting seated. There were very few people in the restaurant. The small bar was full when we left. The décor is similar to the last restaurant that was there. They had some nice local art for sale on the walls. We got the baby spinach and a cesear salad. The ceaser salad had old rusty lettuce in it, the spinach salad was fine. We ordered the Mac and cheese for our child seeing as how the got 2nd place in the state competition, but were extremely disappointed it was crapy old boxed Mac and cheese. I am so sick of places serving box Mac and cheese. The bread platter with oil and some kind of Italian bread was ok, not a ton of flavor, but ok. We both got the steak. It was alright, nothing to rave about. Lots of burnt pieces. The mashed potatoes were good. The green beens were as well. For dessert we both got the chocolate mousse. It pretty good. We really felt it was an over priced event for mediocre food. The staff were very attentive. There must have been a lot of salt in their recipes or something because the after effects are still lingering a day later. unless you are staying at the hotel and don’t want to leave try another place downtown.

Similar to the previous reviewer, I finally decided to stop at EJ’s On Main for a Friday night dinner after seeing huge crowds at a few popular restaurants and bars in Downtown Concord. EJ’s On Main(former Nonni’s and Kansas City Steakhouse) is the hotel restaurant at the Holiday Inn, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The restaurant was not busy on a Friday night and I was seated immediately. The layout of the dining room/bar area(with flatscreen TV) is similar to before with the brick oven in the back corner. The menu items include brick oven pizzas, sandwiches/paninis, burgers, salads, soups, steaks, seafood, chops, ribs, chicken, pasta dishes, and desserts. The prices here are fair, sandwiches(with fries) $ 5.95-$ 7.95 and most entrees $ 12.95-$ 18.95. They offer specials which are recited by the server and during lunch they offer a «Choose 2 Express Lunch» deal from $ 7.95, choice of cup of soup/chili, half salad, or half sandwich/panini, served Mon-Fri 11:30AM-2:30PM. For an appetizer, the Nachos with Beef Chili(tri color tortilla chips topped with cheese & jalepenos, salsa & sour cream on the side) were oven baked and served hot. The nachos were a pretty good start to my meal and very filling. The homemade soft bread was served warm with garlic olive oil for dipping. For dinner, I decided on the Prix Fixe Dinner($ 16.95), choice of soup or salad, choice of 10″ pizza, and choice of dessert, which sounded like a good deal and a savings of around $ 6. The New England Clam Chowder was creamy, with soft clams, potatoes, and bacon in a creamy not too thick broth, a bit salty. Next the Applewood Smoked Chicken Pizza(roasted chicken, applewood smoked bacon, caramelized onions, & smoked gouda) had a thin crust which was crispy on the outside, soft light texture in side, thicker along the edges. However, the crust was flimsy towards the center from the good amount of toppings. This pizza was on the salty side for taste. For dessert, I chose the Homemade Apple Crisp(warmed in oven) with Vanilla Ice Cream. The apple crisp had wedges of cinnamon apples with oats, but the temperature of the apple crisp was all over the place, hot on the outside and warm to cold on the inside, could’ve used a few more minutes in the oven. Overall, the food was decent and the service was very good and attentive. The food arrived in stages in timely fashion served by my waitress and directly from the gentleman working at the brick oven. My ice water glass was constantly refilled, so I never had an empty glass and the dishes were cleared promptly when I was finished with each food item.

I showed up for a lunch after hearing that this place opened up after Nonnis pizza place closed down. Apparently, the inside scoop is that the hotel(who leased the restaurant to Nonnis) has, for whatever reason, taken over the space. EJs on main is now owned and operated by the holiday inn… another case of a corporation taking a once successful private business and turning it into a «the sandwich was good… for a hotel» type place. The fries came out hot and were not bad at all. The roast beef sandwich was alright and the brownie Sunday was actually pretty good. I had a $ 10 special for soup sandwich and brownie. It wasn’t all that bad but there are def. better places for food in downtown Concord. It wasn’t bad, it wasn’t great either. If you want fantastic brick over pizza… well it’s gone! If you want a great lunch or dinner in a good atmosphere, walk across the street and hit up the Barley House.
