We were at the dmv next door when we saw the sign for Valerio’s tropical bake shop, Goldilocks, and Jollibee. Being familiar with Filipino establishments in Daly City, we went to check it out. We picked up ensaymadas, señorita bread, and empanadas. Then went into Seafood City Market, boy what a selection of items. Its set up like an indoor mall with food court. We were lured to the front by the savory smell of longanisa and tosino courtesy of Grill City. They had trays of fresh cooked meats and filipino favorites. Yum! We decidede we needed breakfast, like right now! The workers were very helpful and explained to us what everything was. We both opted for breakfast combos, I had the pork adobo and my hubby had the longanisa. Great deal on the combo, comes with generous portion of fluffy garlic rice(unlimited) 2 eggs, a protein, and coffee(unlimited). His was 3.99 and mine was 4.99. Wow! That’s it? It was so much food, I could only finish half of mine. It’s fast, cheap and yummy. Not fancy but it will for sure fill you up. Service was amazing! The folks working there are the nicest people, too. We will be back for some pancit!

Today, 1÷25÷2016, my wife ordered some items, then when at the cashier, she was told that they just raised their prices… which was not updated on their overhead price list. My wife didn’t want to make a scene, so she paid the bill. She then informed me of what happened. I have never experienced an eating establishment that does this… which is actually false advertising! I hate to point out bad unethical practices that Filipino businesses engage in, but things like this is what causes them to be unsuccessful or short-lived.

Very rude. Stood in front of counter lady and she just looked at me. Didn’t speak to me until I ask for something. Was very unhelpful at explain what I was looking at. Horrible service and rude. Food was not hot. Chicken sticks were cold. Rice was over cooked

I came early afternoon, and the spread was plentiful(which is what made me choose to eat here instead of the neighboring establishments). Lots of grilled fishes to choose from, and mountains of grilled pork and chicken. My major beef with this place is that a «value» meal consists of ONE bbq stick, two scoops of rice, and if you want something hearty like another entrée you have to pay more. That just doesn’t seem like a value at $ 8+. Pardon my snobbiness but I can get two skewers and two scoops of rice for about $ 5 in Daly City and its just as good if not better than the meat they are serving here. The Kare-Kare was good but I made the mistake of eating it with the bagoong and that wasn’t a good idea. I’m used to the bright pink stuff in a jar, not the dark purple shmutz they gave me here. It might be good with something else, so I’m not judging it on its own! The service was friendly though, once they realized we were actually going to order something. *Final stab: the only shake machine that was working was the Buko. C’mon son!!!

The only good thing about this place is the BBQ sticks. $ 3 each BBQ stick or 4 for $ 10. Their breakfast is cheap but you get exactly what you pay for. They advertise ‘unlimited garlic rice’ and they ran out by 8:30am… Really? The eggs are hard boiled and corned beef is SODRY. My tocino was hella burnt. My food was literally giving me a cotton mouth, I had to use my drink just to be able to wash everything down. As for the workers and their customer service? Lets just say they seem to forget they’re the ones making money off you.

This place is the place for the grilled bbq sticks. They also carry my favorite – lechon kawali! They seriously need to get lechon-bulaclac(flower)! They give generous servings for side of rice. I usually get the pork and chicken bbq sticks along with lechon kawali. They have other authentic foods like sinigang, bangus, lumpia etc. as well. Sometimes the ladies working here can be a bit pushy and want you to rush your order, but that is typical filipino culture and I am used to it. That may seem why some people think they may be rude. That is just the culture!

Breakfast says that 2 eggs are included, it even appears on the receipt. But they’ll just put 1 egg without mentioning anything like they ran out of eggs or whatever. When we inquired about it, the cashier obviously got pissed off !!!

I had a light breakfast earlier in the day and wanted to get a snack before having lunch with my in laws. Decided to try grill city which is located in front of seafood city. It’s a open restaurant right smack in the middle of the mall, can’t miss it. Lots of open seating around the restaurant, also kind of cool to people watch like figuring out if the white guy with the Filipina meet her on a online site. Anyways, while looking at their skewers, I noticed their colorful menu board. The food was displayed on banana leaves which gives me the impression they serve their food on banana leaves which would be cool but figured they didn’t. I ordered their salmon skewer and BBQ pork skewer. The salmon skewer was ok. A bit on the dry side but still edible. The BBQ pork was pretty good also but had a lot of burnt ends. I’d probably eat here again

This place sucks. No other way to describe it. Dilis were CHEWY — really? They’re fried! Lol supposed to be crispy. Their«Naked» salad is DOUCED with sweet chili sauce — nothing naked about that! lol Their pork singing is just that — soup and pork — like literally — that’s all that was in there; no veggies. I will say the bbq stick was good but how can you mess up bbq? Lol … Don’t go here.

Never really have to write anything about anyone on Unilocal before use and anticipate of rating alot. But this time really got me going to download Unilocal app so i can write one on my own. Long story short, 11:41:47am on 3÷26÷15. I order my GF’s fav dishes here«The Liempo» It was no line i was the only one at the time. The staff never greet me and stay quiet far to be able to hear my order cuz i was standing right in front of those good looking BBQ window and she loves to stand over the soup n salad window. Order seem difficult to hear but i manage to get what i needed. Good prize for a meal for 2 @ $ 22. Got home with this BBQ goodie just to find that… Please see photo i have no more to say T_T

This is my new fave spot to satisfy my pinoy cravings for grilled meat and exotic pinoy streetfoods. They do have isaw, chicken feet, kwek-kwek, fish ball and more in their streetfood stall and its only a dollar each stick but you gotta pay it in cash. But I don’t know if their streetfood stall is only on weekends because I’ve been there only once. I love their Chicken BBQ, sooooo Filipino… I do love everything that I’ve tried and also the mango shake with jello is so refreshing. We went there during peak hours so we walked around looking for seats. Then when we found 4 vacant chairs but without a table so my sisters had to ask a group of guys if we could use the other table. Lucky me, I offered to sit down and watch our food while both of my sisters had to carry the table towards me.

I’m not sure if I knew much about Filipino food before I visited this little food mall but now I certainly know a little bit more! Grill City is one of the food places inside Seafood City. They offer grilled seafood, chicken, and pork. I liked the squid, pipino fish, talapia, and the BBQ chicken skewers. There are some sides to it, especially the beans and sweet potato were a nice addition. Prices are reasonable and portion size decent. Oh, and if you want balut — the supermarket has it.

Favorite place to order BBQ sticks! They have chicken and pork :) so yummy! They have variety of grilled food: tilapia, squid, pipino fish, pork ribs, and more! They have other entrees, I suggest you go and check it out! Oh and if you plan on ordering bbq sticks for a party I suggest you order a day before so you can get a package deal!

My family frequents this place and I never really had an problem with their food. But now, never again!!! My grandma and I had an early lunch together since we were so busy running errands and haven’t had any time to eat all morning. My grandma ordered the chicken BBQ rice combo with sinigang and I ordered the grilled squid rice combo with sinigang. I GOTFOODPOISONINGFROMTHEGRILLEDSQUID!!! Literally right after eating our lunch, my stomach hurt really bad and I threw up. I also spent the whole day in the«office.» Thank goodness my grandma was okay because at her old age, that food poisoning would have been really bad. Never again will I eat here!!!

Grill City! Inside Seafood City. Awesome grilled Filipino food. I got there before the lunch rush. Got the Chicken Inasal, a big bbq chicken leg, $ 3.00. They have grilled squid, salmon, pork, skewers and all kinds of deliciousness. Go here!

I really enjoyed the combo dishes here. Flavor is good and portions decent. You can pick one meat and one soup and it comes with rice. I usually get the BBQ chicken stick, but you can pick from Pork BBQ, Chicken Inasal, BBQ squid, Fish or the (pork belly) Liempo. I would have given it 5 stars but saw the cook drop one the skewers on the floor and put it near the rest of the skewers. I didn’t see him mix it in or throw it away… so, minus 1. I think he saw saw me watching him.

This was my first time at this Philippine semi-fast-food place in the Seafood City complex, though my wife has been there several times before with out-of-town visitors, and swears by the place. First impression: very clean; long line and slow service at the serving counter. We tried a number of dishes: Shrimp soup: good shrimp(in the shell) in a rather sour broth, with green beans and coarsely-chopped root vegetables. Okay, though I’m a bit squeamish about having to peel shrimp. Barbequed pork skewer. Tasty bur rather fatty. Served with the above soup and white rice. Barbequed chicken skewer: Better than the pork; same sauce, but more meat, less fat. Dinuguan: Somewhat bland; various sorts of mystery organ meat. Kare-kare: Tender oxtail in a creamy, delicious peanut sauce. Halo-halo: Red and green gelatinous bits and red beans in a sort of mango slurpee; sweet and slightly tart. Overall, pretty good renditions of Philippine classics, but I don’t know that I’d make the 20-mile trip to Seafood City just for the grill.

Grill City is reminiscent of a turo-turo(literal English translation: point-point), which is the Philippines’ original version of fast food. Turo-turos have an array of home-cooked meals which the customer then point to(hence the name), and this is the system that Grill City chose to employ. I love them for this! Their food is pretty close to what I would expect from a Filipino household and their offerings are pretty great(hello, laing!). I am also glad that their price is pretty reasonable and they serve you a lot of food(which is kind of rare for a Filipino restaurant) — a meal comes with your choice of Filipino-style barbecue, another side dish, soup(sinigang, which I highly recommend to anyone just starting Filipino food and want to go beyond the staple of adobo, lumpia, or pancit) and rice. The staff are also very pleasant and helpful. My only criticism is that their menu is a bit confusing, but this is something I can deal with. I will be a regular.
