Came here earlier. I ordered rice plate with fried pork chop. The pork chop is hard and way too salty. My experience, the food isn’t good.

ZEROSTARS!!! I literally paid $ 8+ for FAT Soup! RIPOFF! Manager’s reply, «that’s how the soup is.»

I primarily go to Sea Food City to purchase groceries. I never eat at any of the restaurants, because the food looks like it has been sitting there all day. However, I notice that every time I go, there is always a line at Manila Sunset. Curiosity got the best of me one day and I decided to see what this place had to offer. I was pleasantly surprised! All food is made to order. The place was very clean and the manager, Winnie, was so kind and helped me with my selection. Even though they were busy, the manager greeted me with a smile as she did with all the customers. I will definitely return!

My experience here has been nothing but pleasant. Yes, the food takes longer than usual, but that is because it is cooked to order so that the food is fresh. I usually get the tosilog. Like others had mentioned in previous reviews, the tosilig comes with white rice instead of the traditional garlic rice. The tosilig is not all fat, there is actual meat. I have also ordered the chicken adobo before. It was very tasty and fulfilling. I also order the sago which is hit or miss. Sometimes it will be sweetened to perfection and sometimes it will be watered down. Today as I was waiting for my tosilog, the cook came out to inform me that she had accidentally burnt my food so she had to cook another one for me. She apologized and threw in a side of longanisa. I thought that was very professional of them to keep me informed as to what happened to my food instead of waiting there forever and not knowing why I was waiting for so long. Even though I had to wait, the wait wasn’t too bad and they were busy due to it being a Saturday. I would recommend this place, but be prepared to wait. If you are in a rush, this is not the place for you.

Cook refused to make the egg on a silog scrambled. I don’t come to a restaurant to be told how to eat my food. Learn some customer service skills.

This place is great. Food is quality and super tasty. I’ve had all their dishes and for the price to quality ratio, it’s damn good. Takes a while to make because they cook the food per order so it has t been sitting there all day. I would come back again and again.

Went there today. Ordered a few things off their menu. Took them long to get the food out. They sent my palabok out cold. Poked my fingers through the noodles and they were fridge cold. I sent it back to the kitchen and asked them nicely to reheat the food. The lady was friendly enough to send it back to the cook. But no smiles or apology. Took them forever to give me back my palabok. The food there could use more flavor. Very bland in taste. I guess for some it is good as some have health food options. Their puto bumbong took about 30 minutes to come out. It was a good dessert though. I will no longer come back to this place. Bad customer service. I can’t believe the fact that this place scored 150/150points on it’s health food inspection when they’re serving refridgerated food. Trust me I know someone who has previously worked there. Never again…

I ordered a family size platter of their Pancit Malabon to serve at a party at our place. I told them I would pick it up at 12:00Pm. When I got there the next day for my order, they never prepared my order and saw that my order was sitting inside their notebook and was never given to the kitchen. The lady who got my order was multi-tasking that she forgot to take care of the food I asked for. I came back for it an hour later. So when I served it, family members and friends ate it and they liked it. The following day, everyone who had the Pancit Malabon got sick and had a bad case of food poisoning. We were all throwing up and others had diarrhea. I will never go back to this restaurant anymore nor order anything from them. First they have very bad customer service, they lack the manpower at the cashier that’s why they were not efficient at all towards their customer. Secondly, you can get food poisoning from their food. Never again!

I like their lunch plates. Most are less than 10 dollars. I like the eggplant dish and palabok. Service can be slow.

Debating on giving one star. They take WAY too long to prepare, and it’s not that good. The sinigang was bland and the baboy was extra fatty(more fat than actual meat). The skin was kept on, perhaps even like soggy lechon which was not very appealing. Not authentic sinigang at all. Not sour. And expensive for the helping given. The kaldereta was mediocre. The only good part was that they drizzled the rice with the sauce. But otherwise nothing special and again, not a big portion size for the price. I could be biased because I’m from Milpitas which is Filipino food central, but I was very disappointed with this place. Should have gone to Goldilocks if I wanted Americanized Filipino food with small helpings that are overpriced. Will try the BBQ place near it in the middle of Seafood City instead next time. Never going back here.

First of all, bad service. She was rude and kept ignoring our questions. Second, the food was not great at all. You can tell that they’ve been fried, frozen, then re-fried. The tortang talong tasted like straight up oil. The pork chop tasted like cardboard. It was dry and hard. And the worst, the crispy pata was only hot outside. The inside was frozen cold… this is how we realized that it was precooked, frozen then just fried again. After we complained, they gave us a new one and it was cold inside again!

Ordered sisig for dinner and it came with soup and rice. Sisig was the only reason we stopped by this plaza and since only this place had it, we decided to give it a try(without first checking Unilocal). It was nearly inedible. I was excited to see pig ear in it but for some reason the sisig was bitter! The rice was not the greatest either but the sisig… not good at all! Will never order again! Maybe other items there are good? But definitely not their sisig!

Ok, so I am not a huge fan of the food court type eateries and since this restau is located inside of Seafood City’s Marketplace, they get docked a star. BUT … if we are talking food & service. They are amazing. Every time I preorder for a family gathering, I always get the«Oh my gosh, did you cook this or where did you get this». It’s truly lutong bahay(home-cooked) and regardless of how early I order it for my events, its quality is always upheld. The latest order was for our New Year’s Eve dinner/celebration: Bibingkang Galapong and Chicken BBQ(SUPERYUMMY). I had preordered and prepaid. When I got there to pick up a few minutes before closing the staff was super cheerful and festively friendly regardless of the crazy holiday crowds demanding their orders. I had to add to my order and they were kind enough to fulfill the add-on and I barely had to wait. Their Puto Bumbong, Leche Flan, & Pancit Malabon are pretty good also. Happy Eating!

If I can give 0 star I would! This place needs more staff. This girl on the register can’t multitask. She had us waiting to pay for an order for more than 15 minutes while she made drinks, answered phones and took orders over the phone, she was also catering to people picking up order. Left and will never come Back

The chicken adobo is pretty good, the shanghai lumpia are fine. I’ll keep going back there for both because filipino food spots aren’t nearly as plentiful as Thai or Chinese places. my brother tells me the boneless bangus is ok but not like moms but he liked it well enough. Tonight I got Kaldareta. It was salty and presented with 1 potato, 1 red bell pepper and 1 green bell pepper… Ah. NO. We were raised on my filipino mom’s home cooking so, a 2.

The Tapsilog & Tosilog is a sham. «Tapa-Sinangag-Itlog» The rice is just steamed rice ??? where did the fried rice go ? This will be the last time I order tapsilog here — drive over across the bridge go to Vallejo or Daly City for Authentic«Tapsilog»

Pancit Malabon and Bibinkang Galapong! These two items will not disappoint. I think if you’ve never had anything from Manila Sunset, these are your best bet. I only give this place 3 stars because their service is a bit on the bad. Food is good, but if they were more amiable I’d rate them higher. Other than that, come here hungry for Flip food and your belly will be happy. At least mine will!

I haven’t had the best experience with Filipino food so wasn’t expecting much from this place(especially since it was essentially part of a food court). Maybe it was the particular items we ordered or maybe it was because this was one of the only made to order Filipino meals I have had(most Filipino restaurants have the heat trays), but the food was surprisingly good. Ordered the bulalu(not sure of the name — was a beef shank soup with a clear broth), barbecue chicken plate, and what turned out to be the Filipino version of congee. The beef soup was delicious. Just perfect for me since I was suffering from a mild stomach ache. The shank in the soup was huge and carried a much larger amount of meat than I was expecting. Probably ate my yearly beef ration right there(I usually avoid red meat). It also contained a large amount of cabbage. The congee was also delicious. So satisfying. Kids loved this. As for the barbecue chicken, can’t comment as my son ate it all up. The rice was also good. Prices were cheap(self service), but the food was really slow to come out. They do warn you on their sign about this. Still the barbecue chicken dish took an extra 20 minutes to come out after we had received the other dishes. In fact, my husband ordered phở from another place a good 10 minutes after I had ordered. He received his phở before I received any of my dishes.

Great lunch plate specials. $ 6.95 to 8.95. In a bind for potuck ideas? or parties? You can never go wrong with a platterful of heavenly lumpia! Took my mama here and it is mother-approved! Oh yeah!
