The food was ok here, but the guacamole was awful– watery avocado mixed with tons of onions and carrots. For a place called«guacamole» I was disappointed.

Exceptional and fast. Had a great meal last night from GAMG. Just say yes to the Super B with Chicken, Black Beans, rice, sour cream and guac. Authentic and fresh. I had mine wet and wouldn’t go back to prohibition for any reason lol. Awesome Sauce! The side of Guac is tasty but a little lite on avocado, heavy on other ingredients. I might be picky though, since i usually have whole avocado’s and very little seasoning(i eat mostly vegie now), judge for yourself. I still enjoyed it. The owner is friendly and easy going. Made me laugh the very first visit(i paid online and tried to pay again in store). Going back again at least once every 2 weeks. Its in my rotation of local fav’s.

The food here is authentic and amazing! The crispy tacos, the carnitas, the enchiladas, the chile rellenos. Every single thing I’ve eaten has been excellent! They also have horchata!

Came in for some quick lunch and got dam the food was good. I ordered the shrimp burrito and was definitely impressed with how big the burrito was. At least a pound or more. Will for sure be back!

Been here twice now, and we like it! Fairly standard menu. Very fast cooking time. Excellent salsa. I do wish the tortillas on the penchiladas were cooked a bit more, had a little crisp to the ends or something… but that’s just a personal preference.

Excellent Mexican food in Concord, we have been looking for a decent Mexican restaurant and unfortunately we haven’t been lucky in finding decent one. Thanks to fellow Unilocalers, we found this place and decided to try it as it was so close to our place and we were super hungry. As for the restaurant it a really small restaurant located right next Starbucks & great clips, well not a great location. If it was me ideally, I would have opened this restaurant in the complex in front of current location where you have all the foot traffic you can take, sitting next to Trader Joes and others. Unfortunately, a lot of people would not come to this side of the road with so much happening on the other side unless you want Starbucks coffee. Anywho, we ordered a few veggie items on the menu and it did not take too long to cook & pack(cool). Both of our orders smelled & tasted pretty good. The tortilla chips on the other hand could have used some salt/lemon or something, they were too bland. Salsa looked fresh and it did taste great. A the food was pretty inexpensive, I don’t know why we haven’t tried this little gem instead of going to the big chains… Where they lack in quantity(menu size) they make up for it in quality… I like this restaurant will be coming back again…

I am writing this review on my 29th(ha!) birthday, about a place my hunny and I went to celebrate. We actually ate there a day early, it would not have worked well today. Actually, one big reason for eating at Guacamole and not other Mexican places is that it’s owned by the family of a salsa dancing buddy of mine. This doesn’t mean that the restaurant is good, but at least let’s give it a chance. Location is both convenient and not convenient. It’s at a prominent intersection, at Treat & Oak Grove. It is NOT in the same shopping center as Trader Joe’s, it’s in the same little footprint as the oil changers place. Little parking. It turned out to be a nice little date place. And I mean little; seating for 22. I clicked on «Not good for groups», because a group could take up the entire restaurant. Anyway, it’s a clean, well-appointed place with the music and décor you’d expect. No waiter service; the staff behind the counter often came out to make sure we had what we needed. We both had enchiladas: me chorizo, hunny cheese. She liked hers a lot, and once again, she finished her food before I finished mine. It was my first time having chorizo in an enchilada, and it was muy bueno. I added some habanero sauce to it, and that made it taste even better. I never think highly of refried beans, but Guacamole has the exception: putting the shredded Jack cheese on the top gave it the taste that most of these beans lack. I hope Guacamole makes it. There are a lot of very good Mexican restaurants in Concord, competition is fierce, and some are bound to fail. A mutual friend of ours opened one that lasted less than two years, and it had some of the best grub in Concord. My opinion, it’ll work best as a date place, and all they need is a guitarist coming to your table to sing«Besame Mucho». Even without that, Guacamole is worth a stop in with the one you love.

There is fast food and then there is QUALITY fast food. The food, service and atmosphere is hands down QUALITY. I had the chile rellenos dish, it was fresh and most tasty! I will be back. I was here for Taco Tuesday as well and the service was super fast. Authentic to its name, my dish was just as I remembered my 91 year old mom making it for me as a child. Much continued success to you Guacamole!

The best Chile Verde Super Burrito north of the border? Duh! Tried it for the first time over a year ago and returned frequently since. I drive by four Mexican restaurants on my way to Guacamole; there is a reason for that. Haven’t tried other menu items because the CVB is that good. But, I would imagine that given the quality and preparation of the ingredients, everything is good. Service is great and food = amazing. Can’t go wrong.

So far the best mexican tacos in Concord. Clean and delicious. Barbacoa, pastor, carnitas tacos and consome were sooo good, just like in Mexico. This place has AUTHENTIC mexican food. Will come back for sure! Quality!!! Five stars for this place!

Surprisingly decent. I came here on a whim while on my way home from work recently. I had a craving for Mexican food, and was curious about checking this place out, after noticing it a few months back during its grand opening. The place is small, though seems to provide a decent amount of seating within the small area. They offer a deliciously appealing selection of Mexican cuisine to choose from. I ended up choosing their Taco Salad. You have your choice of meat to choose from which I chose chicken. The tostada chicken salad comes with beans, cheese, sour cream, rice and guacamole; I however, opted out on the rice, swapped the ref-fried beans it comes with for black beans(THEYHAVEBLACKBEANSWHICHIS A HUGEPLUS!!) No cheese, and no sour cream. I also ordered one chicken taco. I got this order to go. Service was friendly. It took probably less then 10 min to make. Taco salad was aesthetically pleasing, and ended up tasting quite good. All the components that made up the salad, seemed fresh and flavored quite well. It also seemed to have a generous amount of chicken. I didn’t eat most of the tostada shell the salad came in, but man, was it delicious! I also found the taco that I ended up having the next day(just minus the soft taco shell) to be authentic in flavor and just overall, pretty tasteful. Salsa they provided on the other hand, was not the best — tasted store bought. Overall, definitely can’t say it’s one of my fav’s so far, but it certainly has me satisfied enough to try them again.

The rating is based on the soft tacos I ate in mexico during my mission trip. Everything is delicious but not the same as the soft tacos in mexico I had. The ones I had I think were alot bigger, and spicier, and there was a lack of even though there were spices in it. Therefore, I think they need to take off the Authentic the title, because sadly it is not. Ordered four tacos, and a side of chips. The best part is, that every ingredient feels fresh. Its not slopped with grease, and its tasty. The best ones were the steak like ones, but the chicken and other strips, I didn’t feel for, and I am not a total chicken lover anyway. Even the pico di gallo salsa was fresh and pico is my favorite salsa type. However even as a complementary chips, it tasted good, and probably the better one than countrywood, the best chips deals is the mexican restaraunt up near clayton. You get a burrito, and free chips reguardless. Im a lover of those layered flaky chips that other Mexican restaraunts and sadly the chips are just the regular tortilla chips. They kind of lack a little flavor. If you want a flavorful taco, your probably get it here. Authentic mex? Probably not.

Excellent authentic Mexican food that is fresh, appropriate portions, served quickly with cold food cold and hot food hot. Food is very homemade tasting and really fresh. Nothing tastes waxy, artificial or msg-ed.(Meaning bland poor quality food masked with salt or spices). The chips and salsa are good too. Wish they had homemade ice tea and larger salsa portions. Great place for take out as we saw lots of lunch breakers ordering and leaving quickly with their order.

Not a big fan. I ordered their chimichanga and it was not crispy or crunchy at all. The filling is blah and the guacamole and sour cream tasted weird. Highly disappointed especially in the guacamole since the place is called guacamole. The sour cream seemed old. My gf ordered a cheese enchilada and it was weirdly hard. Like not normal. Will not be back

It’s been almost 3 years since my epic meal at Topolobampo, in Chicago( ) Rick Bayless was able to elevate Mexican cuisine to such a level of gustatory delight that I can still taste his mole and chorizo. I’m somewhat dumbfounded with how Guacamole Authentic Mexican Grill has been able to make my breakfast quesadilla taste so bland. There’s chorizo and eggs in there. When I make chorizo & eggs at home, its a breakfast full of flavors. Not so with Guacamole… I try to awaken my tastebuds by drowning each bite into the Guacamole, which in their defense is more than adequate. Still, if you can fuck up a breakfast quesadilla, I won’t be a repeat customer.

One thing I will say about this place is that the customer service was quite good. I stopped by around 8:00 and the place was empty except for two teenagers talking to the girl behind the counter. She stopped her conversation to help me. Was very polite and wore a big smile. I ordered three carne asada special tacos. What’s so special about the special tacos? Well, they are supposed to come with sour cream and guacamole. I got my food and on the drive home a thought occurred to me. Usually when I bring home Mexican food, I’m basically drooling from the aroma coming from the bag. I didn’t smell anything this time. I even made a joke about checking the bag to make sure there is actually food inside. In all honesty, the checking of the bag should of happened, because then I would of realized the«special» tacos I ordered were not so «special» after all. I know it’s only a small price difference, but when you pay for sour cream and guacamole, that is what I want. I got three tacos with meat, cheese and lettuce. The best part of the taco was the cheese. The lettuce tasted like lettuce, and the steak tasted like nothing. Plus there were a lot of fatty pieces. Left unsatisfied, we ended up making another trip. This time to a Mexican grill we know we can count on.

A great addition to the hood. Clean, nicely decorated, the restaurant is located in a small space across from the Trader Joe’s shopping center. For the small size of the space the menu is surprisingly wide ranging. We tried the tortilla soup, super burrito, soft and crispy tacos, and the horchata. Everything was really good, fresh and well prepared. No complaints and I’m coming back to sample their other dishes.
