We have been going to Ryan’s Steakhouse every year on Thanksgiving day for the past 8 years. As far as value and the many varieties of food, Ryan’s can’t be beat. We used to go to the one off Hwy 6 and Westpark but it closed down. So we have been going to this Conroe location ever since. Turkey and their Fried Chicken are my 2 favorites. Can’t be beat. Turkey is so moist and juicy and flavorful. The fried chicken is the best fried chicken I have ever tasted. And the price? $ 12/person? That’s dirt cheap. I love Ryan’s.

I was actually very happy with the food and service. I’ve driven by this location many times with no desire to visit. In the spirit of trying something different, I stop for lunch and was happy I did. As a Military Veteran, I was happy to find out ALL Service members get a discount, all year long. Not only on Thursday or once a year like other establishments. They had an excellent salad bar, fried foods, baked foods, and dessert bar. The whole family was very happy with the selections. I will be visiting again.

We are frequent Ryan’s customers coming at least once a month. We always try to visit on the nights that we know Anthony will be working. He’s one of the best servers we have come across. A very attentive and nice guy. All of the service staff is great and friendly. There are a lot of options on the buffet. They do a great job of keeping everything hot and fresh.

This is the best ryans… food is always fresh and hot The staff is great. Our server Anthony is the best. We always sit in his section. He’s very kind. Works very hard to get what you need. Go and ask for him. Enjoy dinner with a excellent serve.

I have been to several Ryans and none of them was this bad. I recently started work across the street and was super excited there was a Ryans near by. I had my stomach all ready to eat out my pants and was EXTREMELYSADLYDISSAPPOINTED… we went here on Friday night and the only thing eatable was the fried okra, grilled steak and the salad bar. Everything else didn’t look suitable to consume. And the few things that i did try had a funny taste or tastes old. Like the chicken was fried in old grease and the green beans and corn had an old metal taste. Being the daughter of a chef I know most restaurants have a standard menu. And this place strayed away from it totally…

Some people like to complain about the general look of the restaurant because it does seem to be a bit on the older side. Personally, I couldn’t care less about how it looks, yeah it’s a bit dated but I’m not some snooty person expecting to see a place from Home & Garden when it’s a friggin country buffet. Leave the pretension at home and you’ll have a good time. The food is definitely country style; think fried, gravy, butter, and cheese. The service was pretty good, everyone seemed pretty friendly and our drinks stayed full during our entire visit. My boyfriend and I went during the week(it’s been a few weeks since we went) and I’m pretty sure it was during off peak hours so it was pretty quiet in there and we had a seat along the back wall away from most people. While we were standing in line, we could tell from many of the conversations that a lot of the other customers were regulars and enjoyed the food and atmosphere. I’m not sure what others mean in their reviews that it was«too pricey» for a buffet, I felt it was pretty average. The food was good and we left happy. The location is easy to find since it’s on the north loop just off 45. We’ll definitely be back.

First off it was way more expensive then I would have thought having never been to Ryan’s buffet. The selection was limited and nasty. The salad bar had gnats all around it. The food was salty, dry and just bland gross. Even the desserts were not very good. All in all i left the buffet hungry.

What a breath of fresh air — our waiter’s name — Freddy and from hello he was amazing! Fun and entertaining, telling us the featured item, checking on us frequently, keeping the table clear and treating every single guest up and down the row as if they were his favorite guest of the day! As guests left he invited them to come back in such a way that you feel like a friend is waiting on you to return! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and hope to see Freddy on our next trip in! New faces at Ryan’s had made a big difference!

Best Ryans there is. Best service. Friendliest servers and chefs. This Ryans has a Veteran’s Room. The flags from all branches of military are in the room and they have a «Missing Man» table to honor those from all wars and conflicts who will not be coming home. If you live in the area. or even if you don’t, they welcome personal photos of you or the veteran in your family to place on the Wall of Honor. FANTASTICFAMILYPLACE. GREATFOOD!!!

First of all, if one compares an all-you-can-eat buffet restaurant to «regular» restaurants, one is not being fair. Buffet cuisine is pretty much in a class by itself. I have eaten in a LOT of buffets over the years — American, Mexican, Chinese, Mediterranean, etc etc. In the area of «American» foods, Ryan’s is about as good as it gets. I lived in Conroe, Texas for a few years and ate several times at Ryan’s. Now I live a few miles south of Conroe, but still make the trip to Conroe now and then to eat at Ryan’s. Over the years I feel the quality of the food preparation has noticeably improved, and the wait staff are excellent ! Some people complain that the crowd is too much, but that almost proves that the place serves good food at a good price and with helpful, friendly service. To be fair, I also like Golden Corral, and while there was a period of time there wasn’t one in Conroe, they re-opened one a couple years back. Their foods are different, and also quite good. Side-note: I worked for a short time at a Ryan’s in Pearl, Mississippi, and it was a mess! If that Ryan’s had been my only experience at one, I’d have never gone to a Ryan’s again. The reason for the big difference? The owner/management. Keep up the good work, Ryan’s of Conroe, Texas!

We always enjoy our meals at Ryan’s. There are so many choices and the food is consistently good. We also enjoy the breakfast buffets on the weekend, especially the omelet station.

My rating is based upon the type of restaurant. As far as Country Buffets go, I enjoyed my experience here. My wife had dessert first, and the coconut cream and pecan pies were just ok. However, I started with the salad bar and was quite impressed. They had fresh spring mix and spinach as well as the usual romaine and iceberg. Pretty good variety of other FRESH goodies. The imitation crab salad was good but the stand out for me was the broccoli bacon salad. From there, it was the usual country food buffet, but we came on family night(Thursday-when they also serve breakfast items) and I had a wonderful made to order omelette. The ingredients were limited so the cook told me to go to the salad bar where I got some tomatoes and some spinach for my omelette. Another plus was that he made an omelette and not a frittata. I finished off my meal with a sliver of moist carrot cake and Italian cream cake. My wife was impressed with the crispy, but moist fried chicken breast. Overall, a good meal and we are not too stuffed to enjoy the rest of our evening.

This restaurant is definitely NOT infant friendly. Overall the staff was welcoming and kind. My family of four plus a three month old sat at a four top booth and I found a typical wood high-chair that I turned over to place the infant carrier on. A server came over and advised me that I cant put a chair there because its in their way. She then went on to admonish me for not reading the warning label on the highchair which did say not to turn over for infant carrier. I asked her what I should do and she said she didn’t know to slide the carrier into the booth or something. There was no way that was possible as the carrier is too wide and we have four people plus the baby so she told me to move to a six top table and put the carrier in a chair. This also stuck out in the way. The food was typical of a buffet restaurant and other than this incident the service was good but a family style restaurant should leave room to accommodate high chairs, wheel chairs, carriers, etc. And provide adequate equipment to accommodate kids. Staff should be customer focused rather than scolding, so I won’t be returning until my baby is grown if at all.

I really like this place, but the bathrooms do need to be cleaned a little better. The food is good and staff is always friendly and helpful. There is a wide variety of foods to choose from on the bars, and the rolls are VERY good. But don’t go here near closing time, the waitresses are tired and will be very unhappy to see you! plenty of Nice parking and in a big shopping area in Conroe.

Came here with my dad cuz he’s a buffet person… Even though everyone loses at a buffet I think. Ditto to a lot of Jeff’s comments. The clientele are amusing :) Tasty enough food, but not a place that draws me back for more really. But I’d come back again with a group or something.

I really am not a fan of Ryans but my husband insists on dragging me here. The food is nothing special the steak and baked potatoes and salad is about all that’s worth eating. The dessert stinks. And its too expensive to be so crappy, for lack of better word. Not much to say, the breakfast is decent and waitstaff is very personable, hence the 2 stars.

If you’ve seen the peopleofwalmart website, you know what the clientèle here looks like. I mean, not that you’d expect a whole lot of fit people eating salads at an all-you-care-to-eat southern-fried buffet, but Jesus, just navigating around the people to get to your table is a exercise in futility. The food itself, while greasy, is not too bad. You can get steaks cooked as you want, and there are plenty of fried fish, chicken, and ribs options. There actually is a quite nice salad bar as well, and since no one picks up food from it, it’s really easy to get to. If I could overlook the people, I would probably rate this place a 3-stars… but since I can’t seem to look around them(literally and figuratively), it gets a 2. Oh, PS — The mens room has a baby changing table — which in a strange way makes this place BETTER than some of the places I have rated 5 stars…
