Really great staff, unfortunately it was the most bland tasting sausage and brisket I have ever had. So disappointed!

Ordered 2 meat plate… chopped brisket and mild links. When meal was ready they handed me a plate with no links and sliced brisket. Have too many high school kids working and playing around to get order correct. Think«manager» was a high schooler also. I could be wrong. Saw female employee use same spoon to stir buttered potatoes then the green beans. Will not be back.

Love this place. I love their sauce. My favorite thing to eat is Mo’s salad with turkey. I also love the jalapeño sausage. The ribs are not good. They have specials on the weekdays.

Overall, it was OK. The grill wasn’t clean and the staff was highly unorganized. I ordered a baked potato with chopped beef. The beef is more like sloppy Joe. The taste wasn’t bad. I added their spicy bbq sauce. It make the potato salty though. Once looking at the bottles of bbq sauces(that are all on the tables), it states that it needs to be refrigerated after opening. Not sure if we were to leave our plates on the table, and no trash cans.

Where’s the smoke??? I asked if the burgers were fresh OR frozen, the cashier had to ask her partner, he looked confused and replied, «somewhere in the middle». I’m assuming that meant frozen, so I ordered the sliced brisket samwich. The guy handling the money, grabbed the hunk of brisket with his nasty bare hands and proceeded to carve me some. YAK! And, whats up with the«knock and wait» sign on the restroom door??? can you not afford a $ 2 latch? summary: frozen burgers, non smoked brisket, health code violations. Mr. Smokey Mo needs to change name to just… Mo’s Frozen Burgers

Staff seemed lost– no system to figure out what table ordered what meal. We watched a baked potato order circle the room twice then get taken outside and then brought back in and returned behind the cash register. Wait was longer than expected for the type of place and seemed more than a little pricey. Ordered a piece of carrot cake which turned out to be stale. Men’s restroom door doesn’t latch– has a sign stating to «knock loudly– wait– listen– and then come in». they were out of clean forks– had to use a spoon for our meat plates. Brisket, fried okra, and potato salad were ok. Chopped beef was too salty and greasy. Overall– NOT a good experience and we will not be returning! Most other patrons seemed to be having a similar experience.

Figured I would stop by Smokey Moes and get some BBQ and I’m glad I did because the pork loin was amazing! everything was moist and delicious. Good Coleslaw Too!

The BBQ is nothing to write home about and due to the nearly $ 13 just for a lunch break meal, I will not be coming back. The place is clean and what not but ordering took forever and I had talked to 3 different people before I was done ordering. I’ll pass next time.

I can only speak of the loaded potato with chopped meat; so good! I’ve never ordered anything else. A potato with butter, cheese, sour cream, and green onions which is then topped off with hot, chopped, barbecue meat. The hot meat traps the toppings so you get this nice gooey, cheesy, potato mess. I love to eat it with jalapeños and pickles on top. I crave these every few months. They are definitely not something to eat often, but when that craving hits, it is the best!

Stopped by this joint on the way out of town. Not a big fan of fast food, so we decided to give this place a shot. We ordered a baked BBQ potato with all of the fixings and a BBQ sandwich. A bit overpriced for the amount of food we received. Potato was small; nothing compared to the large ones that Pappas serve up. Our BBQ sandwich had little BBQ meat. =(The food didn’t taste too fresh and the portions were small. We’ve had MUCH better BBQ at other places. Nothing to brag about here. They have a prime location right off the freeway, but they aren’t really putting it to much use. Customer service could use some help, you could tell that the workers were just dying to get off work. Probably wouldn’t return.

This is typical mass-produced barbecue. The meats were pretty good, but overall not particularly flavorful, especially the supermarket sausage they serve. Sauce was average as well; it’s similar to Cattleman’s, but it’s a house spice mix, so of course it’s not exactly the same. Sides were abysmally bad. I don’t expect much from a barbecue joint when it comes to sides, but these just had no business being served to anybody. Service was rather abrupt, but not really rude. I’ll stick with my usual haunts for now, unless I start hearing raves from others. I think they could be really good if they tighten up the reins a bit, so I wouldn’t have any trouble believing a big upswing in the future.

So we’re driving up I-45 looking for a decent place to eat. We’re cruising the strip center parking lot and see Smokey Mo’s. Looks decent, maybe a local place, okay, let’s mosey into Mo’s. Monday combo plate special. Combo plate(two meats), two sides, and a drink. Okay, let’s try it. Brisket and chicken. Sauce? Why not. Okay, so we made a mistake with the sauce. Sweet and spicy, and gave my wife heartburn. I personally didn’t like the taste of it. You might, so ask for it on the side first. Beyond that, the beef was tender, the chicken was fully cooked and not dry, the beans were great, and they fried the okra fresh for us. My idea of a small local place, was wrong. Turns out, it’s a small chain based out of the Austin area. That doesn’t deter me, as it’s still a Texas small business. yes!
