The first 7 Eleven in San Antonio since I’ve lived here; which has to have been since 1988. I actually found out it was a 7 Eleven before they opened, when they were doing their employee training. They were scheduled to be opened already, but were having issues with the gas pump system thanks to the previous owners not maintenancing the tanks below ground. I was totally disappointed, but that quickly changed when they still gave me and my kiddos Slurpees for coming anyways. My girls had never had Slurpees before, and needless to say after two years of being open, they’re still hooked. Definitely better than Icees! The gas prices are ridiculous, especially for Converse. But the store is very clean, and the staff is always friendly. Night time is the best time to come because they throw in a lot of extras(4/$ 1 donuts, fruit with sandwiches, or even a few Tornadoes). Food is fresh, and the Slurpee/Fountain Drink area stays spotless and non sticky. I actually don’t mind grabbing a meal from a convenience store.

The Slurpee is back in SA… The Slurpee is back in SA… Oh BTW The Slurpee is back in SA. This 7-Eleven location opened 3 months ago prior to the Tetco buyout announcement this past Aug.
Prior this 7-Eleven opening it had been over 20 years since you could get a Slurpee in San Antonio. I found this location by accident I was on the 7-Eleven website wondering if any announcements for San Antonio locations, and this location popped up. I was like«No way the Slurpee is already in town I have to go like now». Well now turned into a couple days, but I had the same feeling. My oldest son(a slurpee fan too) and I got in the car, and headed to 7-Eleven. In disbelief that we no longer had to travel to San Marcus or Austin for Slurpee we had thoughts that what if this a fake 7-Eleven with Icees instead of the Slurpees. There is a different don’t let anyone tell there’s not. The Slurpee usually comes in 6 – 8 flavors, and is thick. The Icee only comes in 4 flavors, and has a different lite ice texture. Anyway, when we arrived at 7-Eleven we knew that this was the real thing 7-Eleven 24⁄7 finally in or near San Antonio. And just like that my son and I were in a Slurpee wonderland. We were sampling and sip stealing every flavor even though we knew what they tasted like. I’m not sure how long we stayed inside, but I know it was longer than 10 mins. The excitement gave me brainfreeze from drinking my Slurpee too fast. I felt like a kid again only this time I could buy me the large Slurpee, and not the small like parents would get me. If you are a Slurpee fan like I am in San Antonio then your wait is over. I give 7-Eleven 5 stars it’s open in San Antonio and it’s 24⁄7. Long live the Slurpee.
