Planned on having dinner here yesterday. It looks like they are closed, out of business. Called the Pinecrest location and the phone is out of order. What happened???

First time here and definitely will be the last! From the very beginning there were some issues between the waiters and lots of miscommunication. We had two waiters asking the same questions and was very uncomfortable. I asked one for Heineken and he said there wasn’t any so I ordered a Chardonnay. The other waiter comes and sees me with the Chardonnay is asked me what happened which I told him that his colleague said there wasn’t any which indeed there was so he brought me my Heineken. The service overall was inconsistent. There used to be a sister restaurant in Miami Springs which I was a fan of unfortunately they closed it down so decided to try this one was sad to say was a big mess.

As I am dining tonight at this restaurant I promise myself I would never come here again. It took 10 minutes for the attendant to bring bread to the table to find out it was regular bread instead of Italian bread. As the server is taking our order, another server approaches him, whispered something in his ears and then he disappeared. The second server came and brought the wine and a beer we didn’t order. He said it was the only beer they had when the first server mentioned they had few choices. The second server took our order and disappear. The first server approached the table and asked for our order so we had to direct him to the first server. What a mess!!! The server was arguing with the manager at the bar, the bartender was making silly jokes at the bar with other clients and to top it all the first server stopped to ask why we didn’t like the beer? Well… well…well… The table on the back seemed to have issues with the food because the chef came out of the kitchen to address it. The food was just ok. The place is loud and the level of service is just as good as Sergio’s. I am not keen on leaving reviews on restaurant experience but this was a bit disappointing. Oh and as I write this review the second server asked what did we want for desert without bringing the menus… Nice! I was going to wait for the bill to continue this review but I gave up!

Ordered the meat lasagna and let’s just say I was not happy. Especially after I paid 17 $ for it. The quality wasn’t bad but there was very little meat with only one piece of lasagna pasta laid over it and then with cheese. I could have defiantly could have paid half the amount for better lasagna at pomodoros.

One of our favorite Italian restaurants in Miami. The Pear and Gorgonzola Fiocchi are to die for. We also love their Burrata(served with black cherries, tomatoes, evoo and balsamic vinegar) and the calamari saltati(a little spicy and yummy). Their pasta portions are generous; we usually share a plate and one or two appetizers. Our kids love the penne bolognese and this is one of their favorite restaurants. Service is outstanding everyone is nice and we feel welcome when we go.

Go there couple days a week. Super delicious pasta! Must try! I would say they cook the best pasta in town. Great and attentive service! Nice hostess! They have pasta for $ 10 every Tuesday. If u haven’t tried their pasta. That would be a good day to go. Meatballs r a great dish too. Also, the owner is a super nice guy. They also have wine tasting every week. A Good place to meet wine lovers.

I walked in and felt a little underdressed, never the less the staff was very welcoming, the lighting was warm. We sat in a nice table right by the window and the server came instantly to ask us for our drink order. We went for Coral Gables restaurant week. I had never been and heard good things about the place. The service was good, our waiter answered all the questions I had about the fixed menu. For approximately $ 40 with tax and tip I got an appetizer, entrée and dessert. I didn’t take a picture of the dessert, but to be honest it was nothing out of this world, a chocolate filled pastry which was soggy. For the appetizer I chose the crab cake swimming in a pea purée, very original and tasty, as was the entrée, a short rib lasagna.

I judge an Italian restaurant from the type of olive oil they use. Their olive oil is below average. The food is not bad, but wouldn’t go back because of the low quality olive oil.

We had our wedding reception at Ana Capri on Ponce March 15. We are a gay couple. Everyone went out of their way(as I am sure they do for every one) to make sure that the event was flawless and It was. It was a magical evening that we will always remember. The food was excellent. The service impeccable. The venue just as we had requested. We were treated with respect and professionalism. We will always remember that evening. To the ownership, management and staff of Ana Capri, Thank you very much. Irma Diaz and Rachel Lauzurique

I ordered their vitelli strambottica and fettucine alfredo and they were horrible. The pasta did not taste like anything, and the veal tasted like a dirty rag. Literally. I never knew what that meant until this day. Very disappointed.

Some people go out to simply eat(boring) and others go out to enjoy each other’s company, the food, the ambience and life. My beautiful wife and I go out for dinner at a minimum three nights a week, sometimes with the kids and others without. Since we noticed that Anacapri had more than one location, we decided to visit them all to test on the consistency of the restaurant. Our picks were: Tortalini Bolognese, Meat Lasagna, Pear & Gargonzola fidecco, Veal Rotolato. At ALL locations these dishes tasted the same DELICIOUS! I can’t imagine why someone won’t appreciate Anacapri. My only thought is that they are in lack of serious attention.

I’ve had better experiences with food poisoning than I had tonight eating at this restaurant. I’ve not had a worse culinary experience in Coral Gables or anywhere in Miami in the last 7 years the service was glacial when it did happen, the food was adequate when they didn’t burn the garlic for the pasta side and the management was dismissive to the point of rude when we presented our concerns. Just an all round abysmal experience.

Simply THE best Italian restaurant in Miami, bar none. No place comes close — the food is exquisite, the ambiance is pristine, and the customer service is sheer perfection. Ask for Elias, the manager. Also, GREAT for large parties and private functions — BON apetìt!

Always in search of new places to go, I stumbled on Anacapri on Ponce. The energy I got entering the restaurant was an authentic little Italy experience. Miami Spice is about to come to a close and they are a participant so I decided to partake. Off the Miami Spice menu, I choose the Tuna Tartare to start off my meal. I loved the presentation. For me, the fish wasn’t cold, and so it did not taste as good but I liked the combination that was created. For my entrée, I had the Duck Cannolini. It was enough duck, al dente pasta and the right amount of sauce but had a little too much cheese for my preference. My friend didn’t do Miami spice and instead just ordered a meal off the regular menu which was the Lasagna. Unlike me he loves all the cheese and the sauce so he found it to be very good. Although he didn’t order Miami spice and didn’t deserve to get any dessert, I shared my Cannoli anyways. I shouldn’t have because it was very small and I was left wanting more. My personal preferences aside, the food at Anacapri was very good. The hostess to the server as well as the other staff were very gracious and welcoming and for that I would go back.

I truly don’t understand all the positive reviews for this place. I came here to have lunch a couple days ago, and after Gusto Fino, Frenchies and Maroosh were all closed(what are the chances?) this place was close by so we decided to stop in. While this isn’t the worst italian food I’ve ever had(that distinction goes to Casa Bella in Little Italy, NYC), it was pretty darn close. We ordered from the Miami Spice menu, which seemed to have some pretty solid choices. FALSE. The first course was a mozzarella with prosciutto. I didn’t ever in my wildest dreams think this could be not good. It came on top of a tomato — which while already a bad mix for me, it was also the most bland flavorless slice of tomato I’ve ever had. There was also no olive oil or balsalmic either, just an olive, piece of artichoke, and sun dried tomato. An odd combination. The second course was gnocchi with brown butter, sage, and trufle oil. Again, I didn’t think this was going to be anything but amazing. And yet, something was off. The meal was a bit salty, but somehow also lacking in flavor. It just fell flat. While my mango sorbet was good, my boyfriend chose the ricotta cheesecake for dessert, and this was the worst of it all. This ricotta cheesecake tasted exactly like a piece of warm cardboard. Why was it warm? Why wasn’t it moist and creamy? I really don’t know, but it was AWFUL. The place has a nice(although a bit stuffy) ambience, and while the service was very friendly and pretty attentive it was also surprisingly slow for a midweek lunch in the gables(where you would assume most people dining have to go back to work, sooner rather than later). With so many better options for italian, including some close by, I wouldn’t waste my time here again.

We went on Friday evening for the Miami Spice menu. Although we had reservations for 7:30, the seating was only about 40% full which allowed for us to be seated in between empty tables. However, around 8:30 the restaurant was full so reservations were absolutely necessary to be seated. We ordered from the Miami Spice menu and started with the burrata which was a good sized portion. The mozzarella was creamy and the addition of the sweet cherries made this a hit. This was the better of the two appetizers. The scallops were a very minimal dish with 3 small scallops and a palm full of fresh arugula. The scallops were tender but could have used a bit more seasoning and sear. The lamb chops were perfect, cooked medium rare, tender and well seasoned. The mint au-jus was very layered with flavors. The broiled lobster tail was tender with just enough seasonings. The lemon risotto was also perfectly seasoned and cooked. The profiteroles were good but the chocolate anacapri was the better by far. A chocolate cake filled with dark chocolate, white chocolate and caramel sauces with a dollop of vanilla ice cream. They also offer a $ 15 corking fee for your BYOB of wine which we took advantage of. Black napkins are also the standard there so no white lint residue left on nice clothing. Upscale casual ambiance, professional servers, quality food, and corking fee makes this a visit especially for Miami Spice fixed pricing.

Ok, so I returned less than a week ago and I felt compelled again to review this marvelous place! We went in a group and ordered antipasti, and a warm mushroom and eggplant appetizer that’s smothered in cheese. Everything was fresh and the flavors were crisp and shined through in each bite. As a main course, my bf had the lasagna(he didn’t share) but by the time it was on the plate, I assume it was great! My cousin ordered the special of the day: stuffed cannelloni with ricotta and salmon in a cream/pesto sauce! Savory, fishy, heavenly. Finally, I ordered the linguini carbonara. An apparently easy dish, however, these dishes in my option separate the boys from the men. It was salty, creamy, and not overly heavy. I kept wanting more and more. This place never gets old and am craving to go back! This is one of the best Italian restaurants I’ve been to bar none! I have been here a couple of times now, and I cal highly recommend the calamari, the seafood risotto, as well as the mushroom appetizer. The ambience is beautiful and romantic. It’s a nice place for a baby shower or anniversary dinner. Well worth the price, this place is a gem.
