I am pretty sure that Archie’s is now closed. When it had first opened, it was a refreshing option in the Gables but its service and food declined over time.

This place only gets a star because of their selection of juices. The food was super dry and no amount of salt/cheese/oil would help! My group had salad, pasta, and chicken and it was all equally dry. The manager was our waiter and he was absolutely terrible!!! Do not go here!

Brickell location is much better. Pizzas are good even though the Archie’s meats pizza has too much proscuitto and it is not thin enough for Pizza. Their pastas are nothing special. When you go to Archie’s you order pizza NOTHINGELSE… Recommend: Hawaiian Plain Pepperoni They have a kids dining program at the one in Brickell(I think Gables has it too) Kids Menu is good…

The Archie’s Pizza is by FAR the only decent thing on the menu. Their delivery is quick and friendly however the entrees are ABSURD. I paid 16.75 for a soggy piece of breaded chicken and a few cold vegetables. THEN there was the«mishap» with my credit card(amex). I ordered the same item I usually do. Order arrives in 30 minutes. I enjoy it. But my experience is far from over. I get a call from American Express the next day telling me BrightSide Inc. of Doral, FL has just charged 284.00 in Cell Phone Accessories to my card. Not using my card for ANYTHING other than the pizza in the past week, I immediately contact Archie’s and get a «manager» to tell me «Yeah, I dunno what’s up with that, it’s been happening all week long» …Hey jackass… STOPTAKINGAMEXUNTILYOUFIXTHEPROBLEMTHEN. I tell them to check to see if their delivery people are making off with card numbers and she coudln’t tell me either way. Didn’t really seem to care. Anyway– big ‘ol wah wah.

Nearly lost my lunch… First let me say one thing, I love all food. Not really a complainer when I go out, have never sent food back. I ordered a chicken salad at Archie’s that was simply terrible. The lettuce was floppy and brown. The dressing had that terrible acrid taste and nearly made my eyes bleed. The chicken… surprised I didn’t eat a feather. One positive, when I did complain the server was very helpful. I’ve had pizza there(pretty good) before and didnt have such a negative experience. I dont know what happened, but this place took a dive in a hurry. Yuck!

Like a previous review stated, the food is 4 star but the service is 2… maybe a 1, actually. We arrived around 9pm on a Friday night and were surprised to see that the restaurant was only half full. Knowing that the food here is good, we figured this was due to the economy. After our meal though, we realized what many others before us have probably realized which is that the service here is abysmal. The hostess was prompt in seating us, however it then took the waitress about 10 minutes to come take our order. She did not bring us any bread or water. Once we placed our order it was another 5 minutes before our drinks arrived. Still, no bread. 10 minutes later our appetizer arrived. At this point we figured to hell with the bread and dug in. Now, this was the part of our night that really shined. We were amazed with how flavorful and cheesy the spinach dip was. Of course, it’s an item that is always creamy and cheesy, but this one was even above and beyond that. Considering that we both are big cheese lovers, this was a little slice of heaven for us after a long week. I especially enjoyed the extra crispy parts of the top layer of cheese that had baked on to the side of the dish. MMMmmmm. Of course it then took another 5 minutes after we were done with our appetizer for the pizza to arrive. Sure, it may be nice to have a little time to digest but having been a server myself I know how you are supposed to time putting in the requests for each course so that they appear seamless. Customers just waiting around for food is never a good thing. Our pizza was another dish that was quite pleasing. We ordered the Archie’s pizza which has mozzarella topped with prosciutto, pepperoni, salami and ham. Of course these meats can get a little greasy, but oh the flavors are oh so deeeelish. You can tell the great quality of ingredients because the sauce was so fresh and flavorful, and the cheese and meats were also quite tasty. After we thoroughly enjoyed our delicious pizza and had the leftovers boxed up, it took our server 5 minutes to bring us the bill and another 10 to come pick up the card for us to pay, over which time we got to discuss among ourselves how wonderful the food was yet how terrible the service was. It makes me sad that the service brings down the quality of this place because I really do love the food. If I lived near one of their locations I would definitely do take out, but really to trek all the way from West Kendall to any of their locations and have such sub par service just makes me not want to return. Maybe we’ll try again and hopefully find that the service has improved.

This is another place that was quite bland. It didn’t help that my boyfriend and I went to this place with a bunch of pretentious people either, which added to the disappointment. The food was not memorable. I would not recommend it.

the bread basket is awesome! the menu has many delicious options, the pizzas are thin crust and super yummy. the lasagna is also a great choice! and their frozen lemonade is wow! but the service… omg sooooo slow! its absurd. ive gone for a quick lunch, 2 people, takes over an hour with a half empty(or full) restaurant. no excuse.

This was THE worst meal that I have eaten out in recent memory. I have frequented this Archies several times over the years and I can’t tell you what happened. Other than say that the lasagne is about as good as a frozen Stoufers, with more cheese glopped on it. The lobster ravioli was hard and fishy. The pizza was soggy and bland. We brought this to the attention of the staff and asked if anything had changed and increduosly the replied«nothing at all». Well I and my dining companion beg to differ, and unless they figure it out I will advise all to stay away!

Archies. What has happened to you. This used to be such a great place. The food is still ok(mind you, not great), but the service… ugh! We hadn’t been here since we had moved away, and we thought we’d give them a try now that we are back. First of all, the wait staff either needs to be replaced or retrained. We asked the waitress how many slices in a small pie and she says«6 or 7, i’m not sure». Ever heard of a pizza place cutting their pies in 7 pieces? Neither had I. We spot some«natural juices» on the menu. and decide to give those a try… They are anything but natural or juice… they are more like a frappé and containt way too much sugar. I suspect they are made from some concentrate pulp. stay away from these. Later on the bill comes, but there is an extra pizza added on that we didn’t order. I don’t think I will really be going out of my way to come back here again.

Wow, how is it possible to get so many different types of food to taste so bland. The salads, no matter how many ingredients are added, are tasteless. The pizzas are much superior around the corner at Spris. The wait staff is completely clueless and the management is even worse. Don’t look in the kitchen or out back, it is scary.

The food here gets a solid 4 stars from me, but the service gets a 2 at best, so we’ll settle on an overall rating of 3. I hadn’t been to Archie’s in about 2 years, I had a friend visiting from out of town who was hungry for pizza so I decided to stop here and give this place another try. When we arrived there were 3 people at the bar and only 1 other table with customers so it was nearly empty. It still took more than 5 minutes for a waitress to stop at our table(by the time the waitress arrived to take our drink order, we were more than ready to order food as well), she told us they only had 3 kinds of beer, which I hope was a mistake considering they have a full bar — but one of those was Sam Adams, so I was happy. When she served the complimentary bread with balsamic vinegar and oil, she only left a dab of vinegar and took the bottle, so after 2 pieces of bread we had to get up and get more vinegar ourselves. An appetizer which my friend asked to have brought out with the main courses was brought early anyway, they twice tried to deliver someone else’s order to our table, and at the end when my friend asked for a cappuchinno and I asked for a glass of water, the cappuchinno was delivered right away, while I waited about 5 more minutes for the ice water. The pizzas were VERY good and really hit the spot, the complimentary bread was soft, warm and yummy, and on this night when it got very cold in Miami, having the fire at my back from the gas-fired pizza oven really felt good. However, service was pretty dismal to say the least. Each of us ordered a pizza, each had 2 beers and one of us ordered an appetizer salad and a cappuccino, bill was $ 61 before tip.

Went to Archies for dinner, not impressed. Service was subpar, my friend had the pasta carbonara, it was not very big(and the pasta too). I had to wait a long time before they put cheese on my Spaghetti bolognese. It tasted like pasta with ketchup. Not impressed at all, sorry.

It’s a sad day to do this however, I hope to update this with more stars at some point cause I believe in second chances and Archie’s definitely needs a second chance after the debacle that was today’s lunch. I went there with a small group, five in total and after the lunch rush, the place was virtually empty and yet service and food were terrible. When one member of my party asked our waiter what was going on he simply apologized so at least he was honest and aware of how long the food was taking and how poorly it reflected on them. Nonetheless, I’ve read all the other Unilocal review so I’ll definitely give it another shot and update this review.

I was craving pizza when I got off the plane so we came to Archie’s for a quick and relaxing meal. Inside, the dining room is very spacious and they also have a full bar. We decided to sit outside so we didn’t freeze from the ac! We ordered a pizza with arugula and prosciutto and also shared the papardelle with the bolognese sauce. It was super delicious! We feasted our meal with lovely Chianti wine and had a great time. Our server was friendly and the food was great!

This Colombian pizza chain compares very closely with Piola in South Beach — an Italian chain popular in the southern part of South America and the East Coast of USA. The prices are also comparable to Piola. While Piola is trendy, Archie’s goes more for a casual wooden bar feel. There are other Archie’s Gourmet Pizza throughout Miami, and they also have delivery. Archie’s can be found in Brickell, Doral, Aventura and Key Biscayne besides here in the Gables.

All you need to do is sit down, place your order, and start salivating at the thought of the warm focaccia bred they will soon be placing in front of you. It is the best thing in the world… better than squeezing a baby. Their brie and ham pizza is also fantastic. Anything in the menu, really.

Small pizza place that also serves traditional Italian dishes. Cozy atmosphere, great pizza, fair prices. A must if you are looking for a different and more exotic style of pizza in beautiful Coral Gables.
