Mimi’s Cafe

I love eating here for breakfast! The strawberry waffles are so good. Most of the time the waitress are great. I never have to flag down our waitress or dry swallow my food. My kids never complain about the food either, they love the kids menu. It’s a great place to come and eat after church with family!

After banning Mimi’s for more than a year, because of lousy, slow service, my husband and I decided to give it another try. What a pleasant surprise! Susie, our server, was wonderful. Food was good. I will be back to Mimi’s.

Although I realize this is a restaurant chain and their quality remains in the rankings of typical spots like IHOP and Denny’s, today’s meal was unsatisfactory. The customer service was great and the restaurant itself was clean but the food was bland. We ordered breakfast which included the Santa Fe omelette and the andouille omelette. We selected the buttermilk spice muffins which usually taste like a dream but today they were dry, flavorless and were more like nightmare. If you want breakfast with some flavor don’t eat here. The quality has gone below standards.

Great service. The best club sandwich. It’s not on the menu but they will make it upon request.

We have had dinner at Mimi’s today and last Thanksgiving. They serve a wonderful holiday meal with all the trimmings. They know how to serve a holiday meal with class. Absolutely the best place to go for Thanksgiving dinner.

We walked in and it was clean and fresh. The hostess was very nice in greeting. Out server very pleasant and thing we asked for she got quick. The Santa fee omelet was the best omelet I had in my entire life!!! The banana nut waffle was amazing too and to top everything off the mimosas ways better than TAPS!!! The kitchen wasn’t loud and loved how the waitress’ kept it very professional but looks like a great place to work too!!! :)

We routinely visit this Mimi’s when we want to get away from it all & enjoy a nice, quiet meal. The staff has always been very friendly & accommodating. Yesterday’s waitress had us «figured out», after about 10 seconds and made the dining experience truly unforgettable. And yes, we ended up with two carry-​out boxes because we couldn’t finish all of the food.
And at the end of the main course, when they ask you «Would you like some dessert?», and you don’t want dessert because you can’t move from all of the great food, never ask «Well, what do you recommend?». They’re going to fly their dessert tray, right under your noses and there is NO WAY that you can refuse. In the football world, we call that either unsportsmenlike conduct or illegal procedure. The dessert tray is to die for– truly an artistic expression. Great coffee & espresso specialty coffees.
For price, quality & location, you just can’t go wrong with this Mimi’s.

Multiple times we visited this location due to food being good. One day I decided place a to go order for my work pot luck for 5:30 pm pick up. Person who took my order gladly guaranteed of my preferred pick up time. Hubby showed up on time to pick up, was told no order was placed but if he can wait half hour it will be done. 45 minutes after order is ready. :(
Fast forward 1 ½ month I placed another to go order (another work pot luck) only this time lesson learned we asked for assurance that the order be ready by 5:30 pm. To my disgust order was nowhere near ready come pick up time, their excuse «oh we dont want the food to get cold so we prep them as soon as the picker walks in»…hhmm so all customers request of specific time of pick up meant nothing to this location’s management. I mentioned good food (not outstandingly good food) coupled with bad customer service I just made my final transaction with Mimi’s Café Corona. My honest opinion is you do serve your loyal customers well by showing them then exit door and not come back.

The waitress was nice and the décor was pretty, but that’s about where it ends. The coffee was cold and bland, the food was nothing as it was described and it was way more that it was worth!
On edit, the manager wondered around and I let her know what I thought, and they remade the breakfast fantastically!

Our second time eating here in a while and honestly was hoping the second time around would be better then the first time. sorry to say no it’s not. Roast beef dip looked and tasted like it was straight out of the freezer. My gf’s meal was similar but «greasy» and she ordered breakfast. Sucks because this place use to be a great spot to eat with good food choices.
Although service was pretty good! Most likely won’t be back anytime soon.

Join the email club and they will frequently send you a bogo deal. This is my second time in here in a month. The food is good and the servers are polite. The orange juice is fresh squeezed and the French onion soup is always awesome.

It’s Saturday about 10:30 am and the place is packed. I hope it’s a good sign that they’ve improved their service and food. Well I can officially say i think my old Mimi’s is back with excellent service and yummy food. The steak was cooked perfect. The waffle was crispy & the bacon and apples is a great combination. The oatmeal is always yummy. How can anyone mess up oatmeal?. Today we were greeted by a wonderful waitress named Crystal. She made the meal great with her excellent service. Thanks Crystal! :)
Only bummer part was eating my food with plastics. I’m on the heart transplant list so i have to be very careful of the utensiles i use. I don’t want to get into what can happen by using dirty utinsiles … GOOGLE IT.

The food is always pretty good here, the waiter’s and waitress’s are pretty friendly and overall the environment has a nice theme. I would recommend the craft sandwiches which are always really good. Only thing I can say in a negative aspect would be the amount of time it takes to get waited on, it seems like everytime I go it takes forever to get water refills or ask for ranch. Anyway, its definitely good food and nice place to have lunch with a friendly environment.

What a joke! New menu is so so. The place was empty. The service was slow. We waited 40 minutes for our food. They brought out all four dishes about 3 – 5 minutes apart. When they brought out the meatloaf it was CRUNCHY!!! Omg they reheated day old meatloaf by frying it and covering it in gravy!!! It was unreal. The manager comes out and was so blasé about it. She said «well, let me get you a menu and you can order something else». I told her we would like the check and we were leaving.
Unreal. She isn’t fit to work at the car wash. We were at one time regular patrons. We will never return. They need to fire the cook, send the waiter to Mac Donads to work the drive thru and the manager, well, I hear Walmart is hiring for the janitorial staff.

June 7^th, 515pm.
Not so good this time. Took a long time to get order taken. Out of the 4 of us, 3 orders were wrong and had to go back. Husbands was wrong a 2^nd time. Our bill was wrong, too and took too long to get straight. Never saw the manager, wasn’t a good experience. We were there nearly 2 hours.

My family and I frequently dine here and always have the best service and great food! Just recently I visited the day before Mother’s Day and they had a 5 dollar mimosa special perfect! The only reason I did not give five stars because the first wine glass that was served to me had someone else’s lip print on it! I was so grossed out but our pregnant waitress apologized and quickly replaced the glass with a fresh mimosa! My kids love the French toast great food amazing coffee!

Dropped in on Mother’s Day around 6 p.m. for my usual French onion soup, chicken breast, side of pot roast and Caesars salad. This was NOT a very stellar experience for the following reasons:
1. Salad came out un-​tossed with just a blob of dressing in the center of the lettuce. What line cook is that lazy?
2. Chicken breast was flat and tiny, NOT anything like the great, plump looking ones in the photo on the menu.
3. Side of pot roast was filled with nasty FAT.
4. No refill on my coffee
5. Mass confusion on the kitchen and my same meal was brought out TWICE.
6. The main reason for my irritation is that after 15+ years of coming to this location and spending $ 30,000+ on me, my girlfriends and my business clients, the manager informed me (via her assistant) that they would NO longer allow me to order the pot roast as a side as I have been doing for years at the normal $ 3.79. Only full pot roast dinners will now be allowed. WHAT? It only costs $ 3.79 for a full pound of chuck roast and I only need a ¼-​pound portion… a sweet 300% mark-​up or 25% food cost. What restaurant is not happy with that?. To alienate a Veteran diabetic customer who does NOT need the mashed or French fried potatoes and Veggies that come with the full meal is crazy to me.
In this day of tough restaurant wars and marginal profits, it seems like super poor business to kiss a $ 30,000 customer goodbye, but with the manager’s decision today, that is what she just did! Shame, Shame… such poor business and Goodwill judgment.

Food was great, service was most excellent. Our server Courtney, was totally awesome, great personality. Was there when you needed her, & wasn’t asking you about food when you weren’t able to answer (mouth full of food). She was indeed, the perfect server.

I’m typically not a big fan of Mimi’s, but I was here meeting some former co-​workers for lunch so I didn’t have a choice in the place we picked. The quality of the food was better than the Fountain Valley location in my opinion. The service was much better. We were there for 2+ hours catching up with each other and our waitress didn’t try to rush us and kept asking us if we needed refills on our drinks during that time as well.
Overall, it was a good experience.

My family came here for the thanksgiving dinner today. We didn’t have to wait long to be seated. They had the traditional Thanksgiving dinner with a choice of dark, white or combination of turkey meat. A choice of soups (I think it was French onion, Corn chowder, and a couple of other type of soup). A choice of pies (I think the choices were pecan or pumpkin pie. Each plate had stuffing, mashed potatoes, yams, and green beans in a sauce mixture. They also gave you gravy and cranberry sauce for your meal. The thanksgiving meal was $ 19.
Everything was very good. I couldn’t eat it all and had to take some home with me. They had a full house and were able to serve us quickly. All of the servers were pleasant and nice to us and every one of our needs.
Since they had so many people at their restaurant, that they sat us at fold up tables. It was allright, but it was kind of hard to get around because our seats were backed up right next to the people behind us.
My brother has a new diet where he needs to eat gluten free because of a health condition of his. They did not have a gluten free menu for him. The server told him that the only thing that is gluten free is the turkey meat. He ordered the turkey meal and just ate what he thought had the least amount of gluten in it.
I ordered a diet coke. The server was going to refill my drink and asked me what kind of drink I had. I told her that I had a diet Coke. Then she handed me a new drink and it was a regular non diet Coke. I could tell by the taste that it was sugared Coke. I am not diabetic, but it may have been a problem for a diabetic.
Overall we had a very good time and really enjoyed our Thanksgiving dinner.
