Great venue and staff, very clean. Good drinks and food. And the comedy night every Monday is awesome!

Monday night open mics at Anchor Bar rule! I’m new to OC from LA and I’m so lucky to have found this place. Evan Cassidy who hosts is hilarious and a lot of talented comics show up to try out new stuff.

The food is aight. Drinks are definitely reasonably priced. The pizza is ordered from the pizza plAce up there. Monday is comedy night. Pretty dope.

I like their Monday nights with amateur stand up comedy, just normal everyday guys making jokes, some are very good!
Cheap pizza too

Anchor Bar is a solid, kitschy dive. Beer selections on tap are pretty good, they have a full bar, and pour strong drinks cheap. Four pints of Lagunitas and a mixed drink came to $ 22. They have several unusual small vinyl booths that are cozy, and all seating is at the bar or against the walls. The center area is open. The jukebox is full of fun stuff that goes well with the tiki-​ish theme. Tikis, skulls, vintage skateboards, old signage, etc. adorns the place. Sixties era lamps hang over the bar, and across from that is a big painting of a drumming Indian on black velvet. Nice. It has the feel of a basement converted to a bar, and is dark and warm. It’s pretty rare to find this type of place in the area, and is worth a visit if you like divey, legitimately divey, drinking spots. Oh, and the bathroom has some very cool old album covers, including the Beach Boys endless summer.
Of note is that, even when you are right in front of Anchor Bar, you can’t see it. The sign is not really visible on the door, which itself is a bit recessed. If you are at the correct address, look for the upstairs pizza place. Anchor Bar is just beneath it.

Awesome food and even better drinks. Gluten free pizza is the best you can get anywhere. They have some great Sunday football specials as well as daily specials on food. Definitely recommend grabbing a drink or 5 from Bri if your around!

Great place with great pizza. Hard to find as it sits on the upper level of a strip center. Friendly staff and Monday nite is open mic nite. Fun.

If you want great pizza and super great beer go to this place. Monday nights are open mic nights as well with hilarious comedians! 5 stars all the way

Cool bar! Cheap drinks and open mic on Mondays – both are solid. We didn’t get pizza but it looked pretty good! It’s a bit like cheers where the restaurant upstairs (the pizza place) provides food and sodas for the downstairs. Loved that each comedian got 5 minutes – the good ones get you to come back next week while the bad ones end the pain quickly. I’ll be back!

This place is a traditional dive, but as that kind of thing goes it’s a solid experience. My bf and I have gone a few times for Monday night stand up, which is lots of fun and good free entertainment (no cover haaaaay!)
Bottom line: The bathrooms aren’t that bad and the carpet is fairly clean and there are no bad smells and the beer is CHEAP so it’s a good dive bar

Awesome small bar. Live music is cool and they have tvs going. The bartenders are always nice even though you are not a daily customer like some others obviously are. You can order pizza from upstairs and they’ll bring it to you.

Yooooo, I come here Monday nights for the killer ‘R-​rated’ comedy show. It’s great for comics looking to start somewhere. I’ve never eaten their food, but it looks A+, so I’d think that it’s gr8. The environment is chill.

Great Bar. Excellent open mic… possibly best and certainly biggest in OC. Everyone is friendly and inviting here.

Anchor is such an awesome place to hang out! There’s an comedy open mic night there every Monday, hosted by Evan Cassidy, he is super cool and the bar staff is always very friendly and attentive! Drinks at a good price or awesome comedy in the OC. ACHOR BAR!

I love this place pizza and a full bar where can you go wrong! The bartenders are the best, one thing that’s hard to find are cheaper drinks which they have its great! Grab your pals and go to check out the open mic comedy they have every Monday!

Great place for open mic comedy, drinks and pizza. Funny people, strong martinis… you can’t ask for anything more.

Anchor bar is awesome, one of my favorite spots in O.C. The $ 5 pizzas are incredible and the drinks are cheap and strong. They have pretty decent beer selection. The best night to drop in is Monday– they have a free comedy show all from 7 – 12.
Overall– great place place to have a few drinks, hang out, and relax.

Wow, great place to hang out. They serve a ton of drinks and some beers off the top. The pizza from the upstairs Parlor is also fantastic. We participated in a trivia night even on tuesday night– it was a lot of fun! Overall, great people, great service, great ambiance and a pretty great night all around.

Went during happy hour & they made awesome, fresh, original drinks & were able to make anything you wanted along with offering their own creative suggestions.
Really cool outside seating. The manager ended up being our server because they were in-​between shifts. He was great!
We shared a few different appetizers & enjoyed all of them. They also gave us complimentary hummus & pita.
Would definitely go back!
