The burger here to me is quite delicious. Not cheap but not ridiculous. It’s quite fine tasting. The bread and patty is delicious, juicy, and flavorful. The sauces are amazing. Fries are cooked perfectly. Though it was a bit salty. I’ll just have it unsalted next time or even minimal salt. Very filling, I could only eat half. $ 5 on Tuesdays. Fries were $ 2? Don’t get Coke in glass bottle, it’s $ 4!!!

This was a mediocre experience. First, it was hard to find the place if you were coming from the mall-side as opposed to the parking lot. Second, the young men at the till weren’t very helpful in explaining how this place works. The idea is that you order up at the front from their small menu(which was actually a nice change) and then you’re given a number which you put at your table. Like Boudin SF, but it wasn’t immediately obvious and they didn’t say that was how it worked up front. My boyfriend and I ordered the chicken philly sandwich and an order of fries with the garlic sour cream sauce(it said one complimentary with an order of fries). We waited quite a while to get it and when it did arrive, we were pretty disappointed. The bottom of the sandwich was wet. And I mean wet. There’s something about wet bread that isn’t very appetizing. The rest of the sandwich was very bland, which some people like. If you don’t want bursts of flavor, come here! The fries were solid: they were well cooked and seasoned. They had forgotten to bring us the dipping sauce, so we had to remind them, but when it did arrive, I’m glad we got it. It was tasty. Overall… meh. We won’t be coming here again and would probably steer folks away.

BAD service. mediocre food and weird setup. Came here over the weekend with a group of friends. The unwelcoming server taking our order was able to miss 2 out of the 4 items we’ve ordered. When we came to ask about the missing food nobody seemed too eager to remedy the situation or even apologize and rather just said: «you didn’t order it.». Also, the space inside is pretty awkward looking and gives you the feeling like they ran out of budget while designing the place. To sum up our experience: first time, last time and never again!

This was my second trip to DG Burgers, and my food was just as good as the last time. In reading some of the less than favorable reviews, I thought that I should add in my own opinion. My burger bun was not soggy at all — the bun was fresh and tasted good. My burger was cooked a perfect medium — which at some places, seems hard to do. I thought that my food was seasoned well from the kitchen, although I did add some pepper at the table. The fries were very good, and there were enough of them for two people to share one order. My companion also had no complaints about her food; she ate everything that was on her plate. A burger and fries at an upscale(albeit casual) place for less than $ 10 just doesn’t seem that out of line to me. The downsides include $ 2.50 for a glass of iced tea and when you have to ask for a refill, okay, that’s a shortcoming, but one that I can overcome simply by asking for what I want. The other maybe thing for some folks is that you have to stand in line to order before you are seated. You might not be happy with that — I’m not too bothered by it. Would I recommend DG’s for a quick bite? Sure, why not. I might not make a special trip from a distance; however the food is really pretty decent in my opinion!

Unilocal’s 365 Review Challenge 2014 #192 — #365 We were starving and looking for reasonable priced restaurant with great tastings, so we decided on Charlie Palmer’s DG Burger. It’s located right in front of the main(Charlie Palmer’s) fine dining restaurant. Having high expectations for a Charlie Palmer’s restaurant in South Coast Plaza; it quickly went downhill after reading some of my friend’s Unilocal reviews. It was a first for us to place our order at the front desk before we were seated for a restaurant with supposed high quality. The ambiance was pretty upscale, for the food it was average and not high end like I was expecting. The menu is pretty limited with just burgers and fries. I ordered the($ 7.95) DG Burger with($ 2) fries. Just bland! The DG Burger came with: –Tomatoes –Special dressing –Lettuce –Onions –Soft & Chewy Burger Bun I had better burgers at places like Yard House, CheeseCake Factory, and In N Out.

DG Burger serves a commendable burger in an area that needs more commendable burgers. The haute Charlie Palmers offers a fantrastic if not pretentious backdrop to what most would be skeptical over; a high end(think gastropub) burger restaurant located in the tony South Coast Plaza. The burger itself does not disappoint. The grind of the beef is wonderful, a silky hand formed then cooked medium-rare mass of black angus meat topped with white cheddar and served on a warm toasted potato bun. Cabbage, onion and tomato round out the toppings list and a signature sauce is the only condiment that is placed in the stock line up. Damn good, indeed. The fries on the other hand can go from rather pedestrian to quite good depending on the day you go. They are seemingly inconsistent for whatever reason. They are also very expensive a la carte, which is troubling considering that you can’t count on them being up to par with the burger every time. My only other critisim is that the mangement decided to transform the format from fast casual to casual ostensibly to allow the servers to obtain tips on each check. This turns a $ 10.00 affair into a $ 12.00 meal and lowers the overall value and experience. Let face it, that is the cost of two meals at In-n-Out.

Where is the dam good is the burger here? Not special for his over priced burger. Fries a rip off too. Never going back. At least I can say I tried it.
