I don’t know why but I just can’t fall in love with the places everyone is clamoring about. I mean, yeah there is a LOT of lettuce in the carry out box. the salad has some vaguely tasteless tomatoes and a few slices of pedestrian cucumber and one chicken breast that the woman cuts up in front of you and puts atop a landscape of mostly BLAND lettuce in a large styrofoam box. this chicken lands on top of a mountain of LETTUCE. Mt. Lettuce. a lot of lettuce. basically for ten bucks I got acres of lettuce, which is great if you are in the mood for LETTUCE but I was in the mood for grilled meat, some mediocre and common salad ingredients, but only a COUPLE which were not flavorful and pretty uninspired. bleh. it meets my need for food for fuel. i just cannot manage a full on SWOON over a boatload of lettuce and a single chicken breast. i found it bland, really too basic a salad for a place which OBVIOUSLY does a swift salad trade, and pricy for a salad with absolutely zero specialness about it. ten bucks felt like a hefty price. the lady behind the counter is sweet and the new kid working there is delightful. I am still interested in eating a sweet potato maybe. i’m pretty sure this was a one time event based on how little pleasure this delivered.

Chixy is simple rotisserie chicken enhanced by natures ingredients of garlic, lemon, salt and pepper. What’s not to like? I had heard from Unilocalers and fellow health consious peers at the gym, that this place was the lunch pad for healthy eats. When I first came here, I was surprised by a big fiery rotisserie placed right in front where thousands could see! Kinda cool and inviting! Went inside and was happily greeted by the woman behind the counter. She is friendly and will help you out if its your first time there. I go with the paleo bowl which consists of veggies such as broccoli, carrots, sweet potato and plain chicken breast. Partner it up with the garlic and lemon sauce and its amazingly good, and good for you! Definitely a healthier alternative than burger and fries. Dining area is clean, service is efficient, and the chicken is juicy and delicious. A++ for healthy eats! Perks: Food here is fresh, gluten and dairy free. Whole, half, and quartered chickens are on the menu, as well as salads, combo meals, wraps and desserts. Catering is available too. Overall: Chixy is chicken chic! Food is good and wont make you feel guilty. Worth a try for something different! I will be back again.

Great place for a healthy meal. +Food: I got the Paleo bowl, which consisted of rotisserie chicken, steamed broccoli and carrots, and sweet potato at the bottom. I would have liked this more had it more fresh vegetables(tomatoes, cucumbers. etc), and less sweet potato. My friends had the chicken plate, which was delicious as well. I would recommend trying the sauces. The lemon garlic sauce went better with the salad than it did the chicken. Bomb cornbread though. — - — Parking: Parking is so bad here. It’s in a small little plaza, and there’s barely enough space to fit 2 cars going one way. Not sure what the alternative is, but maybe park across the street and walk over if you can’t find parking. Overall, it was okay. I’d come back to try the other dishes, and maybe mix and match with different sauces. Again, super healthy, so I don’t feel guilty at all!

I keep craving this place 4 weeks after I went for the first time. Fresh. Fresh. .and more freshness. I just love the flavor of fresh food prepared in a healthy, but so delicious way. Got the paleo bowl(caramelized sweet potatoes, broccoli, carrots and perfectly roasted chicken. The sweet taters are roasted along with the chicken, which just makes it that much cooler. My other half got the ¼ chicken meal with couscous, coleslaw and corn bread. Corn bread was better than we thought it would be — perfect flavor and consistency. Coleslaw was advertised to have pineapple in it, but we couldn’t taste much flavor other than just coleslaw. Get the garlic sauce! Sweet ladies; and in a cute, quaint shopping center.

My new favorite place to eat! If you want a flavor filled meal that is easy on your pocketbook and high in healthy choices then you need to try this place! My first visit was paleo bowl. Hands down an awesome mix of rotisserie chicken, carrots, steamed broccoli and a sweet potato on the bottom:) 500 – 600 calories and a perfect meal! I chose the garlic lemon sauce with mine this time. The owners are super nice and friendly. You can call ahead for your order if you know what you want.

The trendy thing to do is to boast about locally sourced, natural ingredients. Chixy takes away the glam and gets straight to the point for healthy options. There are not many places you can eat at while on Whole30, paleo, etc without altering dishes to basically make a whole new item. Chixy makes it easy and delicious to stick to any healthy eating option. I first tried the paleo bowl with lemon & garlic sauce(whole 30 compliant) and it was simply delish!

Located at the Newport Costa Mesa border, this hidden gem boasts a variety of heathy options for chicken lovers looking for natural and sensible dining choices. I strolled in on a Saturday afternoon and the small«order at the counter» stop was surprisingly packed with customers. I took advantage of the short wait to peruse the overhead menu and decided upon the ½ chicken with the option of all white meat for 1.50 $. I also couldn’t pass up the 5.99 $ lunch wrap deal either. With chicken, fresh lettuce, refreshing cucumber, juicy tomato, pickles for some bright acidity, fragrant basil and topped with a tangy house dressing, how could I say no? I payed at the counter, which accepts all major credits, including AMEX, sweet! After that, there was a considerable wait, but good things come to those who do so, I was hopingof course. When the food arrived, I simply couldn’t wait to sink my teeth into the tasty wrap. It was loaded with all the fresh ingredients, which was a perfect companion to the chicken. Honestly I could barely get my greedy mouth around it but when I took my first bite, it was fantastic! An outstanding crunch from the fresh veggies and an irresistibly tangy flavor from the creamy house dressing, made from basil garlic and yogurt made my mouth happy. Next up was the half chicken, which arrived with a warm lemon garlic and sesame ginger sauce, which I ordered on the side for dipping. So glad I did because both sauces were quite flavorful and made each bite of tender chicken all the more satisfying. All in all, I was very happy with my first visit here and it’s safe to say it won’t be my last. Happy Healthy Eats!

Been coming here for lunch with embarrassing frequency due to the convenience of the location for me. Chixy is a prime example of how high quality ingredients prepared simply can really shine. A few tips if you haven’t tried it yet: *The salads are fresh fresh fresh and inhumanly massive. I ordered one topped with chicken for lunch, and it ended up being dinner too. Can’t find a better buy for $ 10. *Lemon garlic dressing is house made awesomeness. Their green hot sauce is pretty spicy(7 out of 10) and packed with flavor. Also a great addition to your meal. *For their sides, they use white sweet potatoes. I prefer these over the yams. The white are sweeter, have a smoother less grainy texture, and the skin isn’t as tough. Tasty. *OH — that cornbread though! They bake them as muffins as opposed to in a sheet. A little sweet, a little savory, crispy on the top and moist in the center. Not generally a fan of the stuff, but this cornbread is diggity dope. *Chicken is always fresh, never dry. *Portions of the protein aren’t huge in the standard rotisserie meals, but the sides are generous. *Skip the beets. I have an affinity for beets, but these are bland and unseasoned. Everything else has been better. *Chicken breast sandwich comes with pickles and mustard standard. If you don’t want them, specify that up front. Now that you’ve got all the critical details, eat that chicken!

This place is the bomb. They’re paleo bowls are so fresh and taste amazing. Definitely something you feel good after eating. Better than Flame Broiler and WaBa. The owners are always so nice and personable, service is great.

I hate to leave someone a bad review. But i would be embarrassed to be the owner of this business. .Looks good from the outside. And its close to my home. Down side… I found the menu over priced. Just because its healthy. Lets be real. Its chicken!!! So i ordered from the alla cart menu haha I ordered the quarter chicken plate. When my order was ready. It looked like something you would serve a 4 year old. After i finished… i was so hungry i went next door and ordered subway. What a joke !

For some reason, Chixy always finds its way into my Unilocal search results. I truly believe the universe was simply telling me I had to go, so that’s exactly what I did. I was excited to see that it’s just a couple of doors down from Bonzai Bowl… a very good sign! I ordered the Paleo Bowl because all these Unilocalers talk about it. I must say, it’s pretty basic(chicken, broccoli, carrots, and sweet potato), but I’m a big fan of basic food, which I mean in the best way possible. It’s simple, fresh, no weird salty sauce on anything. Just pure whole food. I liked the chicken on the top and the sweet potato on the bottom really brings everything together. It’s the perfect post-workout meal! They have plenty of sauces to choose from to add to your bowl. I got the lemon garlic and it was potent, but flavorful. The staff is very friendly. Being an order-at-the-counter type of place, they came up to me as I was eating and actually asked how everything was or if I needed anything – a simple gesture that really goes a long way with me. I’m officially a fan and will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu!

Small little joint on the corner of Irvine and 17th. I love the big brick roaster oven in the front. I’m a big meat and veggie eater so we found this place, which is just down the street from my work. I had their quarter white chicken with steamed veggies and beets(YUM!). the chicken was nice and moist, not like some other places where the meat ends up to be too dry. the meal was about $ 10 which is ok, but unfortunately, i could have eaten more. its good to know restaurants like these are around so when i need to eat out, i know where to go. especially if you’re on a special low carb diet. the people working here are super nice and friendly!

The other members of our party of 5 said they would give a 3 star rating but I am going to give it 4 stars. The bulk of the customers seemed to be to-go customers, maybe because there is no bathroom here. There are some tables and chairs if you want to sit down and eat. You order and pay the cashier and they have fountain drinks. Utensils and napkins are on a table by the soda fountain. The cornbread muffin is phenomenal. The steamed veggies are sliced carrots and broccoli. They were all right, but I would not order them in the future. The couscous is great but they didn’t have enough to make it a full size. Instead, they gave us what they had left and added an additional side order to make up for it. The mashed potatoes and gravy are not like those of El Pollo Loco, Boston Market, or KFC. The gravy has a certain spice or flavoring I don’t recognize. It is okay, but I am not used to it. I probably wouldn’t order the mashed potatoes and gravy again. One of the members of the party said the skin of the chicken was delicious, but did not enjoy the chicken as much. I liked the skin also, and I liked the chicken more than she did because I dipped the chicken into the lemon garlic sauce provided, which is great. It really adds flavor to the chicken. This is probably more deserving of a 3.5 rating, but I’m rounding it up to a 4 because the people who work there are nice, the restaurant is clean, and they don’t take a long time to bring you your order. The rating would have been a 4 if we hadn’t ordered the steamed veggies(too bland and possibly overcooked) and mashed potatoes and gravy. Well, the bright side is that the veggies were healthy. Some of the reviews here are low for Chixy. It’s probably because there is or was some inconsistency with the chicken. We got lucky — the chicken was moist when we went. This isn’t that close to where I live, but if I’m in the area, I would be open to ordering a combo meal to go. If they added more sides to their menu, that would be great. Hopefully the next time we go, we can get a full order of couscous. It is good.

Chicken boobs(breasts) are my favorite protein! I don’t like any other parts. None of that gizzard, thigh, wings, etc. I got tired of Boston market and chicken maison has always been my go to for a healthy meal. Chixy was bookmarked a long time go and I decided to give them a shot. So glad I did! It’s in the same small plaza as banzai bowls and bomburger. The restaurant is small and seats maybe 15? The sauce bar has a large variety of dressings, dips, and sauces to choose from for your salad/meal. I love the simplicity of the menu and this place is perfect for the health conscious or those on restrictive diets like PALEO! They have a section on the menu designated just for Paleo peeps! No more worrying about what the cashier thinks when I have to modify meals that cater to my diet lol. I got the ¼ white(extra 90 cents?) with cole slaw, steamed veggies, and the meal comes with corn bread or tortillas. I chose corn bread although it looked more like corn muffin lol. The chicken was flavorful in its rotisserie spices and most importantly of all, it wasn’t dry! Most of the times people complain the breast being dry but I didn’t have an issue. Cole slaw wasn’t mayo based which is a plus and it had pineapple pieces to sweeten it up with the acidity from the vinegar. Steamed veggies were perfect and you even have an option to pay extra for no carrots! The sauces I liked with my chicken were the ginger sesame & honey mustard. Corn bread was fluffy inside and had a hint of sweetness, but I would still prefer souplantation’s. The gravy was just ok, needs more umph to it. Nice to have found another healthy rotisserie place to switch between. If I ever get lazy to make dinner after work I’m just going to stop by and get their chicken with sweet potato combo lol. The only cons is that it’s a bit pricey. Sure you can go to Costco and buy a whole rotisserie chicken for cheap, but it doesn’t taste as clean as chixy’s

I had very high expectations for this place when I found it on Unilocal.I was looking for a new health spot to eat at. Everyone on Unilocal reviewed how healthy, tasty, and reasonable the prices were here. This place surely is healthy, I just felt it was a little bland for my taste. The mashed potatoes didn’t have much for flavor. The gravy that came with it was cold and smelt/tasted funky. It wasn’t old or anything but was just not a good different. On the positive side, everything here is priced very reasonably. The owner was also very friendly and helpful. She showed that she really cares about her business. The best options to go with when ordering would be the grilled chicken and cornbread. The flavor that is missing in most of the options here is hiding in the chicken! The chicken was very juicy and grilled to perfection. As a cornbread lover, this place did an excellent job! I would even have to say it is in my top! If I decide to stop by Chixy Natural sometime in the future, it would only be for those two items. This place is worth trying out at least once.
