I don’t write to many reviews on here but when I do it’s because they did an exceptional job! Or they really messed up! My boyfriend and I came to claim jumper for dinner and we have to say that the service was fantastic. The spinach artichoke dip was great! Best we have had. And we decided to share an ore classic combo. Our server John was amazing. He was very friendly and outgoing. His customer service was great! We will definitely be back soon!

As far as happy hours go, the one here is one of the best. First of all, on weekdays, happy hour is from 3pm-close in the saloon. They get stars for not making me rush to get here after work and double fist drinks just to get the happy hour prices. There’s a good selection of food items to choose from between $ 2-$ 10 and drinks from $ 4-$ 8. The Country Fried Filet Bites($ 9.99) are battered filet mignon chunks on top of mashed potatoes with gravy and sriracha on top. It’s a tasty and very filling portion. The Poutine($ 5) is a great dish although I wouldn’t call it poutine because it has big potato chunks instead of fries. It’s topped with cheese, bacon and a fried egg, served with gravy on the side. They had me at the fried egg. The Sliders($ 4) are simple. They’re just beef with cheese and grilled onions, but they were decent. You can also get them with pulled pork or chicken. The saloon has plenty of tall tables and seats around the bar. There are also TVs for watching sports. A great thing about this place is that it’s inside South Coast Plaza, so you can walk off your happy hour calories.

Perfect sized portions for lunch, good price and overall good value. I got the fish tacos with a side of fruit instead of shoestring fries, and my boyfriend got the trip tip dip sandwich. Both tasted really good! Our server, Delyse, was very kind and it was a pleasant first visit for me.

What am I doing ordering salad at Claim Jumpers?! I should have gone with the staple… chicken fried steak. Do not order the Hill Country salad. You will get ice berg lettuce with more salad toppings than lettuce and stale tasteless corn bread croutons. The complimentary cheese bread was yummy, we got two!

This review is based COMPLETELY on the experience I had when I ate at the bar for lunch with FERMIN as my server. Fermins service was PERFECTION. From start to finish he did amazing, I’ve always hated the service here. I eat here all the time in lunch c I work at Macy’s. I’m always ignored, low priority and given cold meals. NOTWITHFERMIN. He acknowledged me and serviced me the second I sat down. I got my order in, he made sure to he consistent with asking me if I needed anything else and how I was enjoying everyhig. Very through very professional and friendly. He bright my food out piping hot and delicious. Yay!!! He took care of all my needs and I was ecstatic to finally have a 5 star experience here after so many years. I’ve already written. To headquarters explaining what a fantastic employee they have in him. I hope the location manager reads this an commends him. Could not have been happier, I left him a 35% tip and I hope to see him here more.

I’ve been here on several occasions where I sit at the bar, and there’s always been a female bartender who’s always been dismissive of my group. I thought it might just be my imagination, so I decided to give it one last try tonight. However, she did it again. On multiple occasions, we waved our hands and called out to her, and she just completely ignored us. She was extremely attentive to the group next to us, but completely ignored our attempts to get our attention. The guy who originally helped us out was very nice, but you could tell he was swamped because he was running around trying to help everyone while she stood around not doing much. It’s such a shame because we live so close to this location and do enjoy the food and drinks. I just won’t come back because she has been so blatantly rude and dismissive. They could do with better training here. If you do come here, avoid sitting at the bar and/or her.

Nostalgia beckoned me in, and I succumbed. I ordered the chicken fried steak dinner and it was everything I wanted, and much, much more. The bread. I forgot we get complimentary, cheesy, garlic bread. Delicious. For nostalgic reasons, I ordered the chicken fried steak dinner. Each entrée comes with a starter — soup or salad. I opted for the clam chowder which was hearty and mighty delicious. Good, hearty, creamy, and chocked full of clams and potatoes. With the advent of Unilocal, and people gearing toward more healthy lifestyle choices, food and cuisine has substantially changed in the past few years. And although this may be all good in theory, there are always pockets where you want to eat something that reminds you of a younger you — where calories and carbs didn’t matter so much. It’s safe to say that not much has changed in with Claim Jumper empire. What I ate the other night was essentially what I ate years ago — same consistency and goodness. My chicken fried steak was enormous, smothered in the savory gravy and came with a side of mashed potatoes. It was everything I imagined it to be. Yeah, Southcoast Plaza is super bourgeoisie, but Claim Jumper really humanizes all those fancy shops.

Great food and excellent service. They accommodated my family party of 10 and provided request fairly quickly even when asking to split the check. Overall a great place to have a family meal.

It’s a tad bit difficult to find this location at South Coast Plaza, but I was pleasantly surprised with the speed and service of this Claim Jumper. While I’m not a fan of the menu changes over time of this restaurant chain, particularly the new cheese bread served, I loved the hawaiian ribeye with green beans that I ordered. The steak was cooked to perfect medium rare and the teriyaki marinade really improved the flavor of the steak. I have a feeling this location may not get the most traffic during lunch, so it’s a great lunch spot after your shopping!

You know, I was surprised about this location. Came in for lunch and ordered the calzone with bacon and smoke Gruyère cheese. It was so good. Probably one of the best I’ve ever had– seriously. The service was slow however and we waited for drink refills and our food longer than we should have. Also, I do not like what they did with the bread before the meal. They changed the sliced cheese bread to this bread knot and its terrible. The restaurant is dark and a little dated, but we were in a pinch so I would say it wasn’t bad overall. The calzone was amazing, service not so much. 4 stars.

I have been going to Claim Jumper since I was young. Good place to go for a more up-scale burger. I usually order their burger sliders. This location in particular is great. Spacious indoor and outdoor seating area and large bar. There are lots of tables and booths at the bar so it’s nice to sit there if there is a wait for tables. Kudos to their awesome happy hour and all day Sunday happy hour during the football season. My friend actually grabbed a spot at the bar for the game and had a nice view of the big screen TV they have. I enjoyed a $ 5 Long Island and it was great! There are also delicious sliders one can enjoy off the happy hour menu. We also tried the spinach artichoke dip and it was very good. Will definitely be back, either for dinner or for a quick lunch while shopping.

Every Claim Jumper I’ve been to has a bountiful salad bar with so many offerings that you could make it your main course. If this Claim Jumper had a salad bar, it would be a «complete» Claim Jumper, and perhaps be 5 stars. As it stands, my experience was good — a solid 4 stars. The table we sat at was large; it was both long and wide.(This was nice because we didn’t feel like we had to crowd plates together.) The room is spacious and open. It’s quite a large restaurant and would be great for large parties. I came with my family and we ordered a variety of dishes. I was able to take bites of many of the different items. The crab cakes were succulent, meaty, and tasted like natural crab meat. The appetizer plate consisted of different items; I had an average southwest egg roll, good cheese stick, burnt potato skin, ok fried zuchinni, good buffalo wing, and tasty onion ring. I was unaware that Claim Jumper carries orange Hi-C and french onion soup. Had I known, I would have ordered both. Instead I got strawberry lemonade and clam chowder. The strawberry lemonade was more tart than sweet, and I liked it. The clam chowder lacked flavor and was mostly just creamy. The baby back ribs were fantastic — fall off the bone, tender, and flavorful. My entrée was the ribeye steak. It came out looking really appetizing, and the taste matched the expectation. It was juicy and well seasoned. It was perfectly medium rare, as requested. The rice pilaf was good as well. Angela was our server and she was good throughout our meal. We had a big party and she handled us well and with a smile. This location is in South Coast Plaza. We went on a Sunday at opening time(11am) and were seated right away. Closer to noon, the place was almost filled to capacity. This is a decent Claim Jumper and I’d come back again if I’m in the area.

Went here for lunch with my family since Din Tai Fung had such a long wait time. I haven’t had American comfort food for a while so I didn’t mind the change in plans. I ordered the BBQ pork sliders which came with fries. The sliders were decent, but they could have put in a little more meat to balance it out since there was so much bread from the buns. It was pretty cool that the order comes with four instead of three sliders. The waitress was nice and kept checking up on us which was good. The complimentary bread is good and it has enough flavor that you don’t need any butter. Overall this place is just alright. The portions are big so you may have some leftovers so I guess that’s why their meals are a little more expensive than usual.

Haven’t been here in years but only because of the proximity to where I live. First time I ate here I ordered the liver and onions. I know, I know… people don’t normally order this because they don’t like it. You would also think that because it’s not ordered often it wouldn’t be fresh or just not good. Well, to my surprise it was Very fresh and Very good. This time around I stopped in for a drink and an appetizer. A Bloody Mary and beef sliders to be exact. The bartender nailed the drink and far as the beef sliders, I didn’t expect much. I mean come on, their sliders right? Not even. These little jewels had beautifully caramelized onions set on perfectly grilled beef all in buns that tasted like they were baked right there. For something so small, they were pretty damn good.

Been here twice, first time was… I don’t remember, but the second time I came here was bc my grandparents didn’t wanted to eat Din Tai Fung bc of the long wait. Service: Good! The waitress was polite and nice. Food took a lot longer than it should. Food: The Clam Chowder was delicious. However, my Top Sirloin dish wasn’t so delicious. The steak was supposed to be cooked medium and moist, but it was really dry and it was the smallest portion of the dish. The fries(a side for the sirloin) took up over half the plate, and it was way over seasoned(much too salty). Overall: I would rather wait an hour and a half for Din Tai Fung than come here. Plus, Din Tai Fung will text you when it’s time to come back so you won’t need to wait in line. My 3 P’s — Palate: 2⁄5 — Presentation: 3⁄5 — Plating: 2⁄5

I love Claim Jumpers! I am a member of their Landry Club, so I get points and rewards, Today my $ 25 birthday reward lunch. I ordered fish tacos with rice pilaf and it was delicious! For $ 11.99 they make a damn good taco! The server was nice and attentive, I wish I could remember her name. Oh and bathrooms were all clean with soap and paper towels. Yummy red velvet cake!!! I am thinking about coming back for my Christmas Eve dinner… I may have to make reservations for that. We’ll see. I did see lots of new things on the menu that I would like to try, like the shrimp lobster cake appetizer! Oh yea, I will come back! You wait and see!

I really miss the Torrance Claim Jumper! I was happy to stop here and eat my favorite Widow Maker burger with shoestring fries and the California Citrus Salad. The burger was taller and even better tasting than I remember. It’s been way too long! The burger was stacked with smoked bacon, onion rings, avocado, lettuce, tomatoes, cheddar cheese, red relish, and pickles. The California Citrus Salad had mandarin oranges, green apples, avocado, dried cranberries, red onions, glazed pecans, bleu cheese crumbles, and green onions with mixed greens and citrus vinaigrette dressing. Overall, I really enjoyed everything except the Arnold Palmer was a bit watered down with too much ice. On the way out, I didn’t forget to grab some of those root beer candies that I like.

+ huge portions; prices are more than reasonable; waitress was professional — parking is a disaster at S. Coast Plaza which is where this restaurant is located; food taste is mediocre(sliders were dry); dirty floors
