I can not rave about this place enough! It was my Boyfriend’s birthday and I needed to organize a meal for 20 people. They let us have a back room that was private and cute. They let us still order individually so people could get what they wanted from the counter and from the bar in the back. They also had a waiter checking on us for drinks. They whole experience was very laid back and easy. The food was great of course but the service was A+. Our group is not the easiest to organize and make happy and they made it effortless! THANKYOU!!!

Great flavor, alright environment. Still kinda figuring this place out, confusing as hell. Are there waiters or not? It ain’t no Massimo’s Pizza, I’ll tell you that! Ain’t no Johnny’s either!

I just tried Pit Fire for the first time. The pizza was good,. I really liked the wood fired crust. We also tried the broccolini which was very good. The draft beer needs to be colder! The beer came to the table somewhat warm and only got worse as I tried to finish it. So, either they need to chill the glasses or get the kegs at a colder temperature: please. And, can the wait staff please wipe the crumbs from the booth seats, Yuk.

I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to try this place out! It’s amazing! We had the pizza, Mac n cheese, broccolini, and the meatballs. Everything was delicious! And, super inexpensive on the happy hour menu which I will definitely be revisiting to try everything else on it. The speak easy in the back serves the restaurants entire menu which is a great concept and the drinks we had in there were all crafted and made fresh aka DELICIOUS. Their manager, Jason, made sure to come by not only our table but every one in the place and check on people. Being in business management myself it’s always refreshing to see a manager care just as much if not more about the patrons as he does about the numbers. I highly recommend trying this place out. You won’t be disappointed!

This place was fabulous. We were looking online for«great salads Newport Beach» and this place kept popping up. Pitfire is known for pizza, but the first night we had two salads and the wonderful Tuscan bean soup. We liked the whole vibe so much that we ended up eating 3 out of 4 dinners on our vacation right here! We did end up eating pizza the other nights. The DJ was superb and added a special touch. The waitstaff were enthusiastic and kind. The soft-serve vanilla ice cream from Marin County was incredible. We will be back the next time we are in the area. When are you opening a location in Chicago?

Staff was great, very friendly. The music was not our favorite but okay. I think we were the oldest people there, very trendy spot. My hubby had an ipa he really liked and we each had an individual style pizza. The margarita pizza for me and mushroom melody for him. Wood fire made it really good.

Great atmosphere, friendly and enthusiastic servers, and amazing food! I had the greens, eggs and ham pizza and it was everything I expected and more! I finished it and wanted even more. I would definitely come here again and would definitely recommend it to anyone who is interested! And even those who aren’t interested!

I’ve always liked coming to Pitfire. They have amazing salads, soups, sandwiches, and of course pizza! But my most recent experience was their delivery. I ordered online, which was SO easy. My food was delivered on time and still tasted delicious. However, my complaint is the amount of food. I ordered the chicken meatballs, the roasted cauliflower and the kale salad. When my husband and I visit the restaurant, we can easily split these items. The kale salad came in a large box but was filled less than half way with the dressing taking up most of the space. It literally was maybe 5 bites(for $ 10!!!) When dining in, the salad is a good size so I expected it to be the same. I was very disappointed and why I give them two stars.

Had a great time tonight! I’ve been once before but not in a long time. The food was tasty, service was quick and attentive. I found the management to be accommodating for our larger group and extremely friendly. I would definitely recommend this spot! Stop by on Tuesdays for a fun trivia night

This place not only has amazing food but also amazing service! Went there a few days ago and had the green egg with ham pizza and it was as if the gods themselves had created this glorious pie forged in the fires of the sun!!! Also Ian is super friendly and was the wise man who recommended that pizza to me! I will be coming back again and again to this wonderful establishment and you should too!!! It’s an amazing place to experience!

Came with my boyfriend last night to try this place out. The service was great. The guy Gabe who took care of us was super helpful and knowledgeable. I ordered the sur with sausage instead of shrimp and it was soooo good. Oh, and they were playing all my jams hahaha… I would def come back!

I really liked the style of this restaurant — order at the front and then the waitstaff brings your food when you’ve picked a table(similar to Noodles but I haven’t seen it done for a pizza spot before). They had a DJ when we were there which seemed a little out of place but he was playing good music so whatever! I had the spaghetti and chicken meatballs and it was really good, I loved the meatballs. I also tried some of my husband’s pepperoni pizza and it was good as well! The pizzas are sized for 1 – 2 people(my husband finished his pretty easily) and we got our food really quickly which was nice. The thing we loved most was the beer selection, so many options we haven’t seen before. Overall, this casual spot hits the mark when you’re looking for quick Italian food!

Service! Service! Service! I recently visited Orange County area on business and stopped in at the Pitfire Artisan Pizza for a late dinner. What a pleasant surprise! To get such superior customer service on top of great food was so unexpected I just had to give them all a ‘shout out’! There are so many good things to say about this place. First, the server(Ryan) started us out with a big smile and hearty welcome — which was super refreshing after a day of meetings. We could tell that this kid really liked his job and was happy to be working. Kudos to the management team at the Pitfire as excellent customer service is always an indicator of a strong and healthy management culture(I think the managers name is Jason)! Seriously, they have a heck of great team at the Pitfire! The food? The food was excellent which is probably why the excellent customer service was so appreciated! We started off with the grilled asparagus and a salad so crisp it snapped in my mouth! We topped that all off with a Sausage Party pizza that was just delish. I recommend stopping by the Pitfire Artisan Pizza in Costa Mesa for great food and even greater service! P. S. — There is a super cool bar in the back — it is setup like a speakeasy, cool and different than the normal bar — really high end drinks and great atmosphere. We stopped by the bar on our second night in town and had happy hour food in the bar and washed it down with good beer! Again, great food and greater service in the bar as well!

Fresh high end meals at low end prices! Love that they list the locals farmers they use! Great atmosphere and service! Clean place, lots of parking available, can either do counter service or server. They have beer, wine, and cocktails.

MEATBALLS!!! Plump, juicy, flavorful(never mind that they’re chicken) meatballs floating on a lovely chunky, garlicky marina. Ignore that I’ve never had the pizza. Forget that there are always 1000 children running amok while the parents sip wine and pretend their kids are invisible. Look past the strange order-at-the-cashier-and-get-your-number system when this feels like it should be a sit down restaurant. THOSEBALLSAREAMAZEBALLS! I prefer to order a side of meatballs(that comes with 3, count ‘em 3, large, delicious, tender balls) and a side of cauliflower. The cauliflower is downright yummy. No health dish, it’s sautéed in red pepper and olive oil and finished with a squeeze of lemon. Lots of heat, great texture, beautiful balance of flavors. Bomb. My man gets the spaghetti and meatballs and adds, you guessed it, another side of meatballs. That’s 6 drool-inducing balls ‘o meat. The salads are great(not good, great) too. The chopped salad add chicken and steak salad are both proven winners. If you can’t get past the screaming kids and weird service, no worries. Pitfire delivers! Ordered delivery a few times and it’s pretty good, 20 – 45 minutes. No screw ups on the orders. No excuses, folks, get your claws on some yummy meatballs. But leave some for me!

I really enjoyed the atmosphere here. Bar tenders and servers were so friendly. Walk in and find a bunch of families with younger children. But keep walking and you’ll find the fun scene. Happy hour was the best! $ 5 for a personal pepperoni pizza? Or chicken meatballs? That’s what I’m talking about. About pizza: you could tell the dough was fresh– it was soft and crunchy. It was baked perfectly, and the sauce was also very flavorful. Even just plain pepperoni pizza was tasty! The cocktails were on point. I enjoyed reading the menu because of all of the creative names for the drinks. They have a bunch of alcohol infused with something or other – which you can really taste in the drinks! We tried the high school mixtape(tequila infused with cilantro and jalepeno? yes.) and the true blue. Both had flavors that complimented each other really well in the drinks. And pretty strong too – thanks bar tender! I want to come back and check out the scene at night; there were a bunch of signs about«throwback night» or other themed nights. I enjoyed the music while I was there on a Tuesday at 6, and I imagine a weekend night must be a lot of fun!

Yummy grown up pizza joint. With amazing drinks! What’s not to love? You can’t mess up pizza and brews! I came on a Friday night and the music was crazy good… Like better than a Vegas pool party good! They have a speakeasy hidden in the back, which I will have to come back next weekend to fully appreciate. The drinks and pasta I tried was delicious and I don’t know why others are complaining about the service bc my waiter was great! It’s a good spot to pre game before hitting up the clubs nearby. And with an adjacent speakeasy you don’t really need to bar hop to anywhere else!

Mmmmm, pizza, pasta, beer, cocktails all under one roof! What more can I ask for? I was able to satisfy my pasta cravings with their house spaghetti and chicken meatballs. Surprisingly each bite was flavorful and tender and not too dry. I was delighted to find the basil leaves throughout the pasta entrée as well. Ordering is at the counter and they give you a # like at Corner Bakery, StoneFire Grill, Panera, etc. Cocktails are only available from Pie Society, but their beer is on tap. You get a flight of 3 for $ 8. We also ordered a personal Sausage Party pizza, which was slightly more on the salty side and ours had more of a blackened, burnt crispy bottom than the other pizzas in our party. Despite the burnt parts and slightly high salt level, I still enjoyed the pepperoni, salami, sausage, and crispy bacon pieces on the pizza. They also ran out of ice cream that evening, but we were given a cookie to try for dessert. I love cookies, so that was pretty awesome for them to do so. I also love when there’s plenty of parking on both sides of the building. I did get lost trying to find this place because we were originally given the address to Pie Society. Upon arrival, we learned that Pie Society is located at the back of the restaurant behind a private door(kind of like the Blind Rabbit from Anaheim Packing House). Just follow the door pattern as you pass by the kitchen and the restrooms before you hit the«hidden door.»

4.5 stars Lo and behold, another great food find down 17th street! My coworker gave me some pretty awesome shoes, and in return, lunch was on me. She wanted Pitfire, so Pitfire it was. We gathered a few other coworkers and off we went for a mini feast. The place was spacious(great for groups) with lots to offer on their menu. Pizzas(classics, creative, build your own and seasonal specials), pastas, salads, panini, soups, desserts and beer/wine. **THEFOODGIST** When our PITFIRECHICKENSALAD($ 11.35) came out, it sure looked blah. There wasn’t any vibrant colors and the chicken didn’t pop out as I’d hope. BUT, the taste made up for its looks. The chicken was grilled perfectly; juicy and well marinated. It was fun to be surprised by the hazelnuts, black currants and a vinaigrette dressing that had a citrus kick to it. My eating buddy loved it. Two other ladies ordered the HANDCHOPPEDSALAD($ 9.35). I tend to avoid chopped salad, since often times it has more of everything else other than salad(i.e.bacon bits & eggs and heavy on the blue cheese). However, this salad was closer to a Mediterranean salad with onions, olives, garbanzo beans, pepperoncini, cherry tomatoes, lettuce, diced mozzarella cheese. Light and also citrusy. They also made me take a bite of their PITFIRESTEAKPANINI($ 11.10): slices of juicy smoky hangar steak w/grilled onions, tomatillo salsa, roasted red peppers, avocado, arugula and melted cheeses on a wheat like ciabatta bread. Very Tex-Mexish! Yum Yum! My eating buddy and I(though she’s been on a diet lately) shared a FIELDMUSHROOMPIZZA($ 10.35). Enough to share with 2 or 1 very hungry person(it’s not very big). It SO hit the spot. Exactly what we were looking for. The crust was thin and light. But, not paper/crisp thin. Similar to an airy bread stick texture; LOVEDIT(my favorite part of a good pizza). The garlic cream sauce blended very well with the nicely roasted mushrooms, thyme, fontina and parmesan cheese. We added my new favorite green, BRUSSELSPROUTS to it. We liked the combo, however my hubby(who had our leftovers) preferred spinach for a sweeter taste. SERVICE: quick, which is what we needed during our lunch break. A bit understaffed. TIDBITS: 1) Casual pizza joint w/A bar inside 2) TV available 3) Kid friendly 4) Ample parking. Overall, we really enjoyed everything we ordered. One downside were the prices. A bit hefty for lunch. Hopefully, the next time we return they will offer lunch specials. Until then, come with a few people and share. More bang for your buck!
