Great selection of sandwiches that are well prepared and packed with meats, veggies, fixtures. Great service, parking okay

My first time and have to say best sandwich EVA! The squaw bread is a must! Even got a great pic of our sandwich artist.

I have grown up going here. Amazing sandwiches and service. Very little has changed with the business since the owner change.:) The old ladies would be proud. I love the squaw and rye bread. I usually get a hot pastrami or bbq beef. There Turkey club is also legit. They have the good crushed ice for their drinks and great potato salad too. Pretty small intimate place. I usually get it to go and take it to the beach or park. Enjoy!

It’s a chain. But a good one. Only had 1 crappy time there when I hit a burnt brownie thing but they switched it out. We have picky relatives we take there because the have a «normal» menu. Not my first choice for dinner but for a quick bit with my kid it is great.

Can’t put my finger on it what makes this place great. Guess its just the homemade quality of everything, friendly staff, good prices, and delicious sandwiches. Wish I found out about this place sooner instead of dumping the same amount of money into way lesser sandwiches at Subway.

I am never disappointed when I order from here. Only downside… they close so early. But they still get 5 stars!!! Love this little local business!:)))

Awesome sandwiches and HOMEMADESOUP. This little sandwich shop has the best tuna on squaw bread and homemade soup. I love the saloon décor

I recently visited Ruby’s Sandwich Saloon. The food did not taste fresh and the staff was very rude to me. I would not recommend this place or their food to anyone. They do not have a bathroom, so you can forget about washing your hands before eating. They also make your food after handling money and touching the register and countertops… gross in my opinion. They also have extremely limited seating, dim lighting, and the floors are a mess.

I’d give it 4.5 stars. My bf and I usually get ham sandwiches with all the veggies and they are consistently delicious for a great price! I tried the BLT one time and was disappointed. Why did I try something new?! Now I have reservations about trying any of the other sandwiches when I know their ham sammy is perfect. The shop itself is tiny so I always call in my order and pick it up. Parking can be a hassle because the lot is small too.

Well let me start off by saying I had not had a sandwich in years, I honestly never cared for them. However this place came up in conversation so I decided to try it today. All I can say is WOW! Now I love sandwiches, I will absolutely be coming back regularly. The staff are amazingly friendly and the food is awesome, keep it up guys.

It was my first time trying this place out. I’m sold!!! The quality was superior and the customer service was awesome. There’s a guy named Tony that works there, he makes the best sandwich in Orange County.

Came here the other day before the beach to grab a couple of sandwiches to enjoy at the beach. Was just going to run to subway, but my friend recommended we stopped here instead-SO glad we did. Love supporting small local businesses like this one. Our sandwiches were delicious, fresh and made with love. The service was great. Wish they were open later, but just makes this place that much more special. will definitely be making this hidden gem my new sandwich joint.

One of the best sandwiches I’ve had in a long time. It’s the service and the food that keeps me coming back. Bringing in fresh bread every day really keeps me coming back.

Favorite sandwich place in Costa Mesa hands down. Quick, delicious, fresh, and they don’t charge extra for avocado! Tried ordering/paying online today for pickup, and my order was ready exactly when it said it would be. Walked in, told them I had an online order, they handed it to me, and I walked out. Really hits the spot when you’re craving a fresh sandwich!

Great place!!! The sandwiches are phenomenal. Get the the squaw bread and add the avocado cause it’s free baby. The employees are as good as the sandwiches. The clear sign of how good it is… locals all day long and they’ll remember your name. Just today a local brought some kids from North Carolina in for sandwiches just so they wouldn’t miss out on the«best sandwich on earth». Just try it. Don’t think twice. No they are not paying me. Enjoy!

The owner, Melinda, was working the counter and so sweet. AWESOME5 star sandwiches, each sandwich was piled high in freshness and taste. I had the turkey, provolone, tomato, guacamole on squaw bread. Will definitely visit this place when I’m in need of a quick classic sandwich.

This is a neat little place for grabbing an authentic, hot, and healthy sandwich without compromising taste. The bread(I tried squaw) is perfect for a homemade feel and the ingredients(you choose from) are straightforward, simple, and work. What you get from this place is a homey, handmade sandwich vibe, but piping hot, and without the work on your end. Prices are a little steep IMO, a bit over $ 5 for a half sandwich. But you are supporting a cool non-corporate shop, and the food satisfies on many levels.

Cute lil menu, delicious flavors and quality. Best part are the happy faces that greet you. However, here’s why I subtracted my rating for a few leading reasons; For one, they have a very tiny dining room and limited seating. Secondly, they do not have a ladies room to wash your hands before you eat! ;(I had to take my sand which to go and eat in the car during a busy work day, all while having to stop in another local business across the street to use their wash room. Hand sanitizer doesn’t cut it in my book, lol. Another thing that bothered me was when I requested my food to go, the gentleman making the sandwiches had been leaning on the counter and was certainly touching many presuming unsanitary aspects of the kitchen. It bothered me that I noticed he wasn’t wearing any gloves when he picked up my sandwich to wrap it. Kinda gave me the heebygeebiez. I actually noticed the pretty blonde owner(or manager??) eye ball that as it happened too. And yes, I ate it anyway. Lol. Anyhoo, it’s great for lunch, and they were so lovely and gracious, but I don’t think I’ll personally be enjoying it again anytime soon.

Ruby’s has a cowboy mom-n-pop shop feel to it. It’s tiny and jam packed with tables and stools. After you’ve maneuvered your way to the ordering counter, you simply fill out the order slip with your choice of meat, cheese, up to 4 veggies, bread & condiments. Hand it to the front counter and your lunch is on its way to being made. It’s an easy and quick process. If you’re in a rush, you can even order online to have it made ASAP(within 15 minutes) or for a later time determined by you. I ordered a half sandwich and it really only took 5 minutes to finish and this was around 12:30pm. I got half of a hot turkey sandwich on squaw bread. I liked it as much as I can like a simple no frills sandwich. The bread is sweetly nutty, the turkey is plentiful, and the avocado was freshly cut. I think it’s awesome that avocado can be added as one of your veggies at no extra cost. That’s a rare sight to see. I think next time I’ll request for more mustard, because there was only a tiny bit on the bread. I need more flavor! Yum yum. For $ 4.95, you’re getting a steal for a half sandwich. It’s the perfect lunch size for me. I cannot imagine eating a full sandwich in one sitting. However, for those with bigger appetites, a full sandwich is only $ 6.95. That’s a good bargain for some sandwiches just like ma makes ‘em. Next time, I’ll probably order online and just run in to pick it up. It was a little awkward finding some standing room to wait for my order because of the lunch crowd. So glad the office is just a few steps away!
