Julian was an ass I ordered a drink at last call, and I don’t get the drink til 1:45 at 1:55 I get my drink for my drink only to have my drink taken away at 1:55 by Julian and all he has to say is fuck you I’m doing by job and you don’t know nothing.

Great environment with friendly people! Great prizes and not skimpy with the alcohol.

There’s no smoking in the bar anymore, so forget what all the other idiots say. The bartenders (especially Serina) are awesome. If they get busy be patient and wait your turn for an affordable and strong drink. There should never be any reason to complain about anything at Elvies.

If you like smoking cigarettes indoors and inhaling second hand smoke, this is the place for you! (Not everyone’s style) The bartender is mostly nice and good at preparing drinks. I do remember a while back, my boyfriend at the time was tired from studying and was falling asleep at the bar after having a drink, we immediately got warned that we’d have to leave when he briefly put his head down. How about genuine customer service and offering coffee or ice water? Ugh, that moment literally broke my heart. Elvie’s is a cool name tho. I’ll give them that.

Freaking love this place!!! Good cheap drinks, pretty chill environment and I’ve never ever seen a fight break out here which is something that always happens at bars now a days.

Someone once said, «no one plans to go to Elvie’s, you just end up there» I always end up there and love it. I love the reasonable prices on their stiff drinks. Very friendly place to shoot breeze with someone while you play a little Keno.

Great old fashioned bar! Nice people, good drinks. Great place for a Saturday afternoon beer and some sports on TV.

I love going their with my friends extreamly chill and fun always brings great vibes, we met amazing people all the time definitely my number 1 bar. Honestly the older bartenders are so funny I just can’t sometimes lol

The homie Geo and I landed at this spot thanks to Unilocal and we loved the place. This is a true dive bar, ambiance is pretty chill, service is quick and friendly. Their drink specials are pretty good and there’s plenty of parking outside. We will definitely go back.

Great spot to go and have some very cheap and relaxing drinks! Overall the environment is very laid back and u have a wide variety from straight to gay and from young to old people! Its not about who u are but about what you wanna do, and that shuld be to have a drink or 2 or go crazy and enjoy! ^_^

Great dive bar that still allows smoking inside, and the drinks were pretty cheap and stiff. There were some sketchy characters, even for a dive, and the pool table in back felt like awfully aggro territory later in the night. Jukebox is connected to the web so you can play virtually any song for $ 0.50. Bathroom situation needs improvement, as I only saw one door for men & women, and the line was at least three people at all times. It was a great time to celebrate some friends bdays, and the barkeep even stopped the music so we could all sing happy birthday, but I don’t see a need to ever come back, at least not on a Saturday night…

Love this place. Cheap drinks and they pour heavy. Bartenders are cool. My coworkers and I are regulars here.

Elvies is my neighborhood bar, Susanne is my fav, I luv her and Chris pour great drinks as well! I love goin In For rounds of drinks at a price I could afford. A Lil darts action is always fun and I the juke box is usually playing decent music.

Elvie’s Inn is a great dive bar for Covina standards. I would say it is the unpolished gem of shoppers lane establishments. My good friend introduced me to this fine place and I am glad he did. Elvie’s has now become part of my «drink local» dive bar repertoire.
If you are looking for a stiff drink, such as, rum and coke, gin and tonic, bloody mary, cranberry and vodka, this place has you covered. The cocktails are strong and the prices are reasonable. For the ladies, this place specializes in two very tasty shots that are a must try. The Pineapple upside down cake and the Chocolate cake. A couple of those shots will have you feeling great. Gentlemen, be advised, Elvie’s does not have any draught beers, but they do have plenty of cold bud light bottles to quench your thirst.
Like others have mentioned, the bar is small and can sometimes get very crowded. You know it’s crowded when you have to think about it twice about going to the restroom. If you are seated towards the rear, there is less traffic and easier access to the restroom. If you are seated near the entrance, you are going to have to squeeze around some people and invade their comfort zone.
The crowd is a decent mix of regulars and dive bar cronies. But to be honest with you, mostly regulars tend to crowd the bar area. There is plenty of parking on shoppers lane and additional parking spots in the alley. If the drinks are not enough entertainment, they have a pool table, a jukebox, and darts to keep you happy.
