Love the French onion soup and Rubens/corned beef sandwiches and steak bombs. Outdoor seating is nice. Live Irish music makes for a good time!

I always want to go local and support local businesses. I come to Pawtuxet Village to get my hair done every month and have tried almost all the restaurants there. The bar was busy with locals and looks like a fun place to hang and have a few drinks. My friend and I came here for an early dinner in September and it was nice enough to sit outside. Unfortunately the few other tables outside had people smoking at them which i dislike, but we were there. Server was initially fast but then disappeared for awhile after i asked him for hot sauce. He finally brought it over but I was done/He apologized as he had tables inside and outside. I ordered NE clam chowder and quahog. Yuck. Clam chowder was so thick I could stand my spoon in it, very salty and tasted like it was the last of the pot. Not appealing at all. The stuffies had been cooked for so long i had to take a knife to break the topping to try and it it. Needless to say it was dry, tasteless and very little clam. My friend ordered the shaved steak sandwich and it was only ok. So i would not return again. But I don’t live there and it’s not as convenient as it is for locals who can walk to the bar and have a few drinks and food and walk home.

I love this place and eat there often. The staff, atmosphere and the food is great. The one thing that bugs me is everytime I order the Shepards Pie it is always under cooked. I’ve requested it to be well done or over cooked, but I always receive it cold. Come on guys get with it please.

I have been here several times and always pretty good BUT tonight I felt like all I ate was salt. Had the Rueben as always. Usually terrific. Tonight just terrible. Salt overload. The sweet potato fries were excellent. Service was excellent. Waitress was awesome. Tried to order desert. They have non. Jane our waitress was awesome

I don’t care what the haters say, I love me O’Rourke’s. Ok, so sometimes the bartender is under-attentive and the waitstaff kinda stiff(there are a couple who make up with endless bubbly happiness) but really, it’s just a great neighborhood bar for simple food and cold beer. I’ve definitely had mixed experiences — service slow, impossible to catch the bartender’s attention(even when I’ve sat at the bar and tried to catch his eye), but generally it’s a nice experience. The beer selection isn’t huge but enough to satisfy everyone’s palette and the food consistent quality with good portion sizes. It’s right down the street from where I live, so I can walk to and from, which again is a plus in my book but I realize irrelevant to everyone who lives outside of Pawtuxet. The other customers are friendly and I’ve had conversations with new people all the time, so the regulars are nice. The staff is polite and to the point, never rude per say, but sometimes they just appear less than thrilled to be at work. Which, hey, it is a job and jobs require work, so I can’t say I totally blame them. If you’re outgoing it’s pretty easy to crack the icy exterior. It’s never been a turn off. Tip — if you’re a beer professional, they only serve drinks in plastic cups on the patio. My husband disapproves as he says it impacts the quality of his Guianese, and maybe I’m easy to please, but I don’t think it’s a huge deal. Ask for what’s on tap because they tend to run out of popular beers fast. They have TVs and bathrooms and live music many weekends. It’s fun for a casual night out and good for a quick lunch. I do however, only give three stars due to the uneven surface and numerous times my preferred beer was tapped out, but hey, I still come back.
